Bible Verse of The Day – 10-31-18

Matthew 7:7 (NKJV)7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

God tells us that if we ask we will have, if we seek we will find and if we knock it will be opened. The question is, “do we ask, do we seek and do we knock?”.

This was a very big lesson we had to learn. We would never ask God for anything. We would just wait and see what He would do. Even if we were in a critical situation, we would just wait, wait and wait some more.

We were patient in this area, but we weren’t doing everything we were told to do. We weren’t asking, seeking and knocking. How many of us do that today? We just sit and wait and see what God will do.

We think because God knows everything about us that we shouldn’t have to ask.

Wrong! We need to ask. And one of the things we have learned is that we need to be specific with our asking.

Once we learned how to ask, we would be very shy and reserved about it. We would only ask for exactly what we and others needed. That was it. Nothing else! I guess we didn’t want to put God out, so to speak.

But, one day during my prayer time I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to lift up my desires as well. I struggled with this, and I even argued with Him. Don’t argue with the Holy Spirit. He always wins.

He showed me that as long as my desires lined up with the will of God for me, and as long as they weren’t going to hurt me, it was OK to ask for more than just exactly what we needed. He has proven to us that He loves to help us with the desires of our hearts.

He loves to see us succeed and move forward. He loves to bless us!

We’d like to remind each and every one of you today, as we obey God with everything that He blesses us with, that we also give back to Him a tenth of it.

As long as we are diligent and faithful to Him, putting Him first, He will take care of our every need. He will protect us and give us the desires of our heart.

Psalm 37:4 (NKJV) 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

That doesn’t mean we can be silly or excessive in our asking, but be prayerful. God will show us what we need and what desires are good for us. He will give us wisdom even in our asking. Amen.

Have a lovely day. You are blessed to be a blessing!

Proverbs 11:25 (NLT) 25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-30-18

1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 (NKJV) 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

As children of God, we are sons and daughters of light, not of darkness. This should have a big impact on our lives each and every day.

Our lives should reflect the things of light; integrity, honesty, love, compassion, mercy, steadfastness, patience and so much more. These should be plainly visible in what we say and do each day.

We should not be “asleep”, meaning that we should not be spiritually dull, complacent, apathetic or spiritually indifferent.

Instead, God tells us that we need to be watchful and sober. This means that we need to be alert, vigilant, attentive, perceptive and discerning, always keeping our eyes and ears open for God’s promptings and His warnings about possible dangers from the enemy’s camp.

As sons and daughters of God, we have to live vigilantly. Apathy and complacency are enemies of the kingdom and detrimental to our spiritual wellbeing. It’s critical that we don’t let them set in and cause us to become dull.

Jesus rebuked His disciples for being dull!

Matthew 15:16 (NIV) 16 “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them.

It’s safe to say that if Jesus rebuked His disciples, then He would also rebuke us for being dull.

Let’s take some time today and repent for our apathy and complacency in our spiritual walk. And then let’s do something about it, by spending time in His word and time talking with our heavenly Father each day.

Even just a little time each day can make a huge difference in our walk with Him. And it can make a huge difference in our day to day lives as well.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-29-18

Mark 11:25 (NKJV) 25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

Forgiving may be hard to do at times, especially if we still hurt from what was done to us.

Something so personal can really penetrate and take deep roots. The deeper the roots, the harder and longer it can take to get it out of there. And the more damage it will cause us personally.

Forgiving the person is the first step we must aim to take; the rest will take care of itself after the fact. If we are hurting and the wound is raw, cry out to God for His help immediately.

I remember one day I went to lunch with some very dear friends; people I trusted and enjoyed being around very much. As we were eating and talking, it was like they suddenly ganged up on me, with no warning.

I couldn’t believe it, but it was truth staring me in the face. They had planned the luncheon and the verbal attack.

As I continued to try and swallow down my lunch and keep cool, my eyes were tearing up and my heart was hurting. I was taken aback by the whole thing.

God helped me to finish up my lunch and handle the situation, and we left on good terms. God even gave me the strength to muster up a smile as we departed.

When I got home, I ran straight to my room. I bawled my eyes out and cried out to God. Why? How could people do such mean things?

He held me that day and He comforted me for as long as I needed it. He helped me to understand and to choose to forgive them that very hour. Yes, I still cried about it and it still hurt for a while afterwards. However, the healing began to take place when I let it go and forgave them all. Amen.

Today, if I was to come face to face with them, I could stand there and know in my heart that I am good with them and I have no hurt feelings remaining in my heart toward them.

How?

Because God took it. He fixed it, and now instead of being in pain and having hardness there, it is simply a lesson learned.

The things we go through should not taint us, but teach us. God can restore and bring good things out of them. Instead of pain residing in our hearts, we have His Word, living, breathing and teaching us.

Psalm 40:8 (NKJV) 8  I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-28-18 – The Most Important Blessings

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

God gives us so many blessings. There are too many to list.

But there are a handful of them that are more important than all of the others. We call these “The Most Important Blessings”. And this is the topic of today’s new video.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Many of us have become distracted by many of the lesser blessings and put the most important blessings at a lower level of priority than God intended them to be.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We took the time to discuss the most important blessings, as well as the lesser blessings, so we can prioritize and make sure we handle things the way God wants us to.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-27-18

Psalm 116:1 (NKJV) 1 I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications.

David shows us the importance of talking to God here in this Psalm.

Some people may think they are not good enough or don’t have the right words. Some may think they don’t know the proper way to address our Heavenly Father, so they hold back and say nothing.

God is waiting to hear from us today. Jesus tells us how to get to Him by using our voices.

We don’t have to wait to go through any other person. We speak directly to God through the precious name of His Son, Jesus.

We don’t have to have the perfect words to say. What we say and how we say it is fine with God. He will listen, and He will hear us.

David was not a perfect man. He had his faults, his sins, just like we all do.

Don’t hold back, thinking we can’t go to Him because we don’t have the right words, or because we have done terrible things and He won’t hear our voice.

Jesus Christ sacrificed His life so we can come to Him. God is saying to us today, “speak to Me in the name of My Son. I am listening. Through Him I will hear your voice”! Amen.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-26-18

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Hurt is a hard thing to overcome. There really is only One way to get rid of the pain of it. There is only One way to get past the nagging whispers of constant reminders in our ears.

Let the Holy Spirit help us.

He will remind us of Isaiah 54:17, No weapon formed against us shall prosper.

He will remind us of Romans 8:37, that we are more than conquerors, through Him!

He will remind us of Ephesians 2:1, which says, we are not dead, but alive in Him.

And He will remind us of John 5:8, which tells us to take up our bed and walk.

These are only a few of the promises that the word of God gives to those who trust in Him.

Even though we let Him help, it may not take the pain away quickly. But the good news is, healing can begin immediately!!

It’s kind of like when we take medication to ease physical pain. As soon as we take them, they are in our system. The first step is done. But sometimes it takes a while to feel the results, right?

Sometimes we even have to take more because the pain is so deep. And there are times when we also have to take other steps in addition to the meds to help complete the healing process.

We can safely say that even when we take the first step and ask the Holy Spirit to help us with our pain, there may be some steps that we have to take before the pain begins to ease or before we see some results.

There are so many Christians walking around today hurt, suffering and being defeated by something that should have no power over them.

This hurt needs to go, in Jesus’ name. It’s time to let the Holy Spirit help us get past it.

He is very gentle. He won’t force Himself into our situation. We must ask Him to come and help us, and then let Him.

He will come, and at different times will provide us with wisdom, understanding and peace for the journey. All three of these are very important in getting free from the hurt that keeps us in bondage.

God did not intend for us to go through our life hurting, with no relief. And getting free from it on our own isn’t always possible.

So let’s ask Him for the help we need.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-25-18

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Fear is something that many people wrestle with on various levels.

There are many different types of fear. And people can be fearful for many different reasons.

In the end, it really doesn’t matter what it is that we’re afraid of. What really matters is that we face our fears and let God help us conquer them.

We can’t usually beat them on our own. We need God’s help. And He helps us in so many different ways.

Sometimes He simply shows us that our fears are unfounded and are based solely on something we have imagined in our minds.

Other times, He shows us why we’re fearful. And then He teaches us why we don’t need to be afraid.

Still, other times, he will put us face to face with whatever it is that we’re afraid of. And then He will walk us through the difficult process of not only staring that fear in the face, but pushing it back and defeating it once and for all.

Just as each of us is different and unique, so God will also help each of us face and defeat our fears in a way that He knows will truly help us win whatever battle we are fighting with fear.

Why does He do this? Because He has adopted us as His own children. And as our heavenly Father, He wants us to live our lives confident in Him, not running from everything that we come up against.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-24-18

Proverbs 11:25 (NKJV) 25 The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.

We may wonder why we are blessed at times. We see good things happening all around us and we are in awe, thinking, “Wow, how very blessed are we! Boy, is God good! Amen”.

This is a good thing. These blessings that we are receiving are, many times, because we have been generous. It’s so important for us to know that when we sow, we will reap.

Galatians 6:7 (NKJV) 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

When we give, when we sow and when we are generous, according to these scriptures, God’s very word, we will reap!

Maybe there is something that God is asking us to do today out of our generosity. Maybe He has been tapping us on our shoulder or prompting us in our spirit man to do something very specific, and we are just ignoring it by keeping ourselves busy and on the go.

I know when God wants me to do something, He keeps reminding me. It doesn’t matter how busy I am. As soon as I get some down time, as soon as things are quiet, there He is;  tappety tap, tap, tap on my shoulder, “Hi, it’s Me, Jehovah, your Daddy”.

He does not do this for His own good. He is watching out for His children and calling us up higher. Because, as we walk in such generosity and sowing of seeds, He promises we will reap from it.

Our Father wants us to reap the good things He has for us! All we need to do is make sure we’re doing what He asks of us. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-23-18

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV) 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

There comes a time for each of us when we need to grow up and become responsible adults.

With our natural bodies, it happens involuntarily. We get older and our bodies develop and change with age.

Whether we choose to mature and grow emotionally and intellectually is up to us.

The same can be said for our spiritual growth.

When we become a child of God, we can choose to stay a babe in Christ. Or we can choose to grow and mature. It’s our choice.

God prefers that we grow and mature. He wants us to become stronger in our faith and able to help build the kingdom of God. His word is very explicit about this. He tells us that we need to grow and mature beyond the basics.

Hebrews 6:1 (NLT) 6 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.

As we grow in our understanding of God and His word, we will find ourselves changing in many different ways.

We will begin thinking in ways that are new to us. We will begin to see things in ways that we have never seen them before. And we will begin to have understanding about things that we never even used to give a thought to.

God will begin to mature us and give us insights into spiritual things without us even realizing that it’s happening.

So how does this happen? By us making a choice to grow, and then taking action!

The amount of growth we see will be dependent on the amount of effort we give it.

There are no secret formulas and no shortcuts. But the cool part is that as we put forth the effort, God will give the increase.

Are we still craving milk? Let’s allow God to move us on to eating solid food.

Hebrews 5:12 (NKJV) 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-22-18

1 Peter 4:8 (NKJV) 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”

As I read this verse, I asked myself, “what is fervent love?”.

Here’s what I discovered.

Showing great warmth. Intensity of spirit, feeling, enthusiasm etc. Ardent. Having, expressive of, or characterized by intense feeling; passionate.

This kind of love is what we are to learn to have toward one another. This love that Peter is talking about is a love that works. It is a love that conquers and covers a lot of sin.

How many of us today would love to have someone love us like this? Well, we do! His name is Jesus Christ. He is so passionate about us, He gave all He had; His life. No one else has ever done what He has done for us.

He wants us to love others, here, right where we are at, the way He loves us; with a fervent love.

Some of us may say today, “I don’t know how to love. I was abused, I’ve lost my love and my heart is wounded from it”.

God wants to heal that brokenness and restore your ability to love. Just open your heart up to Him again. He will heal it and make things right, so we can love again.

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to You this day and say, I’m sorry. I admit, I have been closed up for quite some time now. I have been hurt and my heart aches at times so badly. I don’t know this love that You speak of. Please help me, heal me and take away my pain. I want to love again. In the name of Jesus Christ, help me, Lord, to love like this. Amen.

God is moving. He wants a people that will love.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-21-18 – Milk or Meat?

Please click to watch the video nowGood day!

Milk or Meat? That’s the question we ask in today’s video, which deals with the topic of maturing as a believer.

Please click here to watch the video now.

At the moment we become a child of God, it is intended that we grow and mature. Whether we actually do or not is up to us.

Please click here to watch the video now.

As babies, we can only eat milk and other liquids. But as we grow, we should progress to more solid foods.

This happens only by us making a choice to grow and then acting on that choice.

And how do we actually grow and mature once we make that choice?

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope you enjoy the video.
