Bible Verse of The Day – 7-31-18

Matthew 19:14 (NKJV) 14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Children are very special to Jesus. He says in this verse, let them come to Me, do not forbid them.

As parents, one thing we know is that when kids are little we can help them in so many ways. They will look up to us and listen. And most of the time they will obey what we say.

They stand by every word Mommy and Daddy say as being true.

This is the time to help them by molding them and teaching them truth. Kids want the truth!

It doesn’t mean they won’t stray at times throughout their lives. They may try different things, but our voices will remain in their ears as authorities.

Direct our children to Jesus and His truth. Take time out of our busyness and theirs. Don’t let them run us around causing us to be too tired to sit with them. Talk, share and show them how to get to Jesus.

They will follow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-30-18

Ephesians 5:2 (NKJV) 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Walk in love. How well do we do this?

Love is more than an emotion. It’s an action. It’s a way of life.

Jesus was the epitome of love. His life showed love in everything He said and did. Even when correcting those whose lives were steeped in sin, He did so lovingly. He didn’t use harsh words or stinging rebukes. He saved those for the religious leaders who claimed to love, yet operated in divisiveness and hypocrisy.

When Jesus encountered people in dire situations, He showed them love like they had never seen before. And He wants us to do the same.

Can we honestly say that we do this? Do we love those around us, even when they are unlovable? Do we empathize with people, or do we lash out at them?

Lashing out at people and treating them with anger is easy. It takes no effort. But loving people takes deliberate effort and humility to tame our tongue and see them through the eyes of God, tempered by the Holy Spirit.

Loving others as Christ loved us is a sacrifice to God. It shows Him that we are willing to set ourselves aside and serve others, just as Jesus did.

Mark 10:45 (NKJV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-29-18 – Are We Tying God’s Hands?

Please click to watch the video.Greetings in Jesus’ name!

Our God is all-powerful, able to do anything He wants to do. He created us. And He created everything we see around us.

But did you know that it’s possible for us to tie God’s hands? Even as we ask Him to do things for us, we can also prevent Him from doing those very things that we’re asking Him to do. This is the topic of our latest video.

Please click here to watch the video now.

The actions that we take, or fail to take, can limit what God will do for us. This happens when we fail to obey Him. But many people don’t realize this, which causes them to fail to get the breakthrough they’re looking for, time after time.

Please click here to watch the video now.

So, it’s important that we hear what God tells us to do and then we actually do it!

We hope you enjoy this new video and it helps you get your breakthrough.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-28-18

John 15:7 (NKJV) 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

To abide means to continue in one place. In this scripture, Jesus says to abide where? In Him.

We must continue each day in Him. His word must be in us. That means that we stick to Him like glue and we don’t move away from Him. No matter what comes against us, no matter what we are facing or going through, none of it should move us or separate us from Him.

The devil would love for us to be distracted. Look what we could do if we remained in our walk with Jesus, with no distractions. We would be getting the desires of our heart answered because our desires and focus would be on the things of God.

Let’s start focusing on the things that God says are important and let go of the things that are not. For instance, Jesus healed, delivered and saved the sick. He said the well didn’t need a doctor, so He went to the sick. Don’t be too quick to run away from those that have issues. Those are the very ones that need us and Who we have in us. They are the sick and they need help.

Luke 5:31 (NKJV) 31 Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

Jesus didn’t waste time. He went to those who were ready; ready to receive what He wanted to do in them or in their situation. Being ready is being willing to listen and take action, by faith.

James 1:22 (NKJV) 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-27-18

Matthew 6:27 (NKJV) 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

We teach about worrying pretty frequently. Why? Because understanding this is a critical component of our walk with God.

As we’ve walked through various trials over the years, God has shown us what worrying does, and what it is.

First, worrying wastes precious time and energy. It’s also bad for our health, causing high blood pressure, stress, headaches and numerous other ill benefits.

More importantly, though, worrying is an outward sign of inward doubting. And that doubting stems from not having complete trust in God and His ability to care for us.

Matthew 6:26 (NKJV) 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Some might say that telling people that worrying shows a lack of faith is too harsh. But even Jesus taught that worrying shows a lack of faith in our heavenly Father, and His ability to care for us.

Matthew 6:30 (NKJV) 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

So it would benefit us greatly if we would heed His words and learn to trust God when storms and trials come our way.

Is it easy? No. Especially not at first. But as we begin to trust Him with little things, then we can learn to trust Him with bigger things. And before we know it, we will find ourselves pushing through some pretty tough seasons with barely a concern on our mind, because we know that He is ultimately in control.

So we encourage you today to trust Him in everything; the little things and the big things.

He will never, ever let you down.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-26-18

Matthew 18:15 (NKJV) 15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.

Have you ever tried to fix a problem with someone, and they are just not getting it?

They just don’t understand what we are trying to tell them. And they continue to do what they are doing, over and over again.

After a while we are thinking, “What is wrong? Why doesn’t this one thing ever change? Why do we keep revisiting this? Are they even hearing what I am saying to them?”.

No, they are not hearing. They’re not getting it. They’re not listening. They’re not letting it in or letting it penetrate. But it’s not always because they don’t understand. Sometimes it is simply because they just don’t want to hear it.

They don’t agree. And if they don’t agree, they stop listening. They may nod their head like they are listening, but they’re not letting it in. Our opinion at that moment, on that particular topic, means nothing to them.

It’s an awful feeling when this happens. It can be very stressful and frustrating. But it is the truth.

If they don’t hear us, we can’t keep pushing our opinion on that subject to them. It’s not going to fix anything if their ears are stopped up. We can waste a lot of time.

Pray and ask God for His guidance and timing. God will let us know when and if they are ready. When He gives us the open door, that is when we can talk and share what is on our hearts. And when we will see progress, because now they have hearing ears.

Proverbs 20:12 (NKJV) 12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-25-18

Psalm 119:7 (NKJV) 7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.

The Lord has His way of helping us to see things correctly when we listen and let Him teach us.

Our judgements of things and of people are off because our judgement is tainted. We are not perfect like Jesus and our Heavenly Father. They have righteous judgement. They are not wrong in their judgement. They are to the point and on target. They know exactly what is wrong in any given person or situation. And they know what it will take to fix the problem.

We can never reach a point in our walk with God where we think we can judge someone righteously and accurately, as God can. This is dangerous because we don’t see the whole picture; only bits and pieces.

God sees it all and He knows from start to finish how things will turn out. We have no place in playing God’s role.

Matthew 7:1 (NKJV) 1 “Judge not, that you be not judged.

Judge no one.

Let’s work on ourselves and praise God for all of His help in guiding us to a straight and narrow path. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-24-18

James 1:21 (NKJV) 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

As frail human beings we constantly battle our flesh and its desire to sin.

God doesn’t expect us to be perfect and sinless. But He does expect us to live by the Spirit and not by the flesh. It is only by His spirit that we can live in a way that’s pleasing to Him.

And if we truly want to live, and not just exist, we need to put to death the deeds of the body.

Romans 8:13 (NKJV) 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

It’s not a battle that’s easily won. And if we try to win it by our own strength, we will fail every single time. But God has not called us to fight this battle and win it on our own. He has given us every tool and every weapon needed to fight and win!

We have His word, the sword. And we have His spirit, our helper. The important thing is that we utilize all of the tools that He has supplied us with, so we don’t just exist, but thrive in Him and live each day to its fullest.

Does this mean that every day will be perfect? Far from it. We will have days when we feel like we have failed for the thousandth time, falling so short of the mark. And we will have days when we feel like we can’t take one more step, let alone fight another battle.

But if we let Him lead us and we count on His strength, instead of our own, we will absolutely always be way ahead of where we would be if we tried to do it on our own.

So, we want to encourage you today not to give up. Don’t grow weary in the battle. We have His promise that if we don’t give up, in due season we will reap a harvest.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-23-18

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

This is wonderful to know. Time and time again I have to remind myself to have the right attitude.

One recent day I was waiting in line to park my car. The person in the car ahead of me was taking forever. They were talking away with the parking attendant. Then when they got around to paying, it didn’t stop there. They continued to sit there and talk more.

I waited and waited. I could feel my blood pressure rising. I thought of many unholy things I could do. Can you relate?

As I sat there, I decided that when it was my turn to drive through, I would not say a word. I was afraid I would say something out of anger and wish I had just kept my mouth shut.

My turn came and he scanned my parking pass. And on my way through, the gentleman said in a nice calm voice, “have a nice day”. My lips were sealed, just as I had planned.

I immediately felt the conviction, but quickly tried to justify my actions.

As the day went by, I kept being reminded of what took place earlier that morning.

Finally, I said, “Lord what is it?”. He reminded me of what I did. I said, “Lord, the reason I didn’t open my mouth and say anything was because I didn’t want to say anything that I would regret. So, I just didn’t say anything at all”.

He didn’t say much, but I knew He wasn’t buying my excuse.

As time went by that day, I finally admitted that I was in the wrong. As much as I wanted to think I did the right thing, I really didn’t handle myself like an ambassador of Christ.

I said to the Lord, “I’m sorry, and on my way out, I will do my best to make up for the wrong that I did”.

As I left the parking lot, the same people were still in the booth and I was able to make things right.

The tongue is powerful when it speaks, and even when it doesn’t speak. Make sure that the fruit that comes from it isn’t rotten, but good tasting! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-18

Psalm 9:10 (NKJV) 10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Knowing that we have Someone to turn to is very comforting.

We have Someone to listen to us, Someone to hold us and carry us through this life when things can sometimes get complicated. We are truly blessed with having Him by our side at all times!

He is our Lord, our Savior, our Christ.

When life gets hard, know that it’s OK to cry. It’s OK to have a moment of time when we can just throw ourselves in Papa’s arms and ask Him to carry us through. We reach a point where we just say, ”I’ll do what you say. Just lead me”.

When these times come upon us we can run away from God, or we can run to Him. We can be discouraged and depressed, or we can get excited knowing that we have Someone to help us!

Don’t give up when faced with trials. This is our time to rise above whatever it is that we face, with God’s help!!

It’s our moment in life to watch Him shine as we rest fully in Him.

Psalm 18:1 (NKJV) 18 I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
