Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-16

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Are we holding on to something that we are afraid to share with others? A secret that we’re afraid may cause huge problems if someone found out?

Are we afraid of what people might think about us? Are we afraid of the outcome if people learned about our secret?

Is it destroying us on the inside, and we just try to keep smiling on the outside? Is there something that is eating away at our very core? Do we need help?

Some secrets can cause a lot of damage to our health. We may think no one knows what is going on behind closed doors. And maybe no one we know is aware of it.

But our Creator sees and knows everything. Nothing is hidden from Him.

We need to ask God to help us share our secret. Ask God to help us to be able to get it off our chest.

When we hide things and we are not able to get the help we need, we are in bondage. And when we are in bondage it can slowly destroy us, from the inside out.

We need to pray and ask God to help by bringing someone into our life; someone we can share our troubles or secrets with. Someone that can be trusted and who can give us good, Godly advice.

It’s time to stop hiding it and pretending everything is OK. It will eat us up if we don’t let it out.

We are here to help. Don’t be afraid to come.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-30-16

1 John 4:12(NKJV) 12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

When we do something out of kindness and love, for someone who is in trouble, struggling, lonely, mistreated, etc., we just took advantage of an opportunity to show them God and His love toward them.

Even though no one has seen God at any time, through our actions of love, using our hands, feet, words, finances, and whatever else God shows us to do for others, His love becomes perfected in us.

God’s love is shown through our actions. The very things we do for others. The very way we carry ourselves.

If we get upset and we start flipping out, hollering and accusing, looking down at someone because of their weakness, errors, faults, etc., we then completely give up what could be the only opportunity we may get to show them God.

Be alert and on guard for these moments. Not only will they change the life of someone in need, but they will change our lives as well, as we see God move through us.

Love you all. Keep on being a light!

Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-29-16

1 John 5:4 (NKJV) 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.

We are born of God when our faith is in Jesus Christ our Lord, not in ourselves. That is when we overcome the obstacles in this world.

Do we have things going on right now that we have no idea how to fix, or how to get past? Are we looking at a huge opportunity right now but can’t see how it can happen in the natural? It’s in us, but we can’t birth it. We can’t make it happen on our own.

Ah. This is overcomer material. This is when we say, “OK, what are we doing Lord?” This is when look up and see only Him. We get focused in our prayer, in our reading or devotional time, and we surround ourselves with only those people that God brings in to help.

Are we needing to overcome something today?

1 John 5:5 (NKJV) 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Is our heart trusting in Him today?

Then follow His commandments and walk. He will lead us to victory no matter how big the problem is, what kinds of things we face or how big the mountain is that stands in the way.

Our faith will get us through. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-16

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 3 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

When seasons change we must learn to adjust to that change. As I look out my window this afternoon I see how the leaves on the trees are all gone.

That same tree that was recently full and lush with beautiful leaves now stands bare. In the western hemisphere, the winter season is here. The days will be cold and we will have to adjust accordingly to the change that has come.

And so it is with the seasons in our lives. Some things will come and bring a different way of doing things. If we don’t accept them and adjust our life to them, we will have a difficult time getting through that new season.

It all comes down to learning to let go, moving on and adjusting accordingly. God will help us in this if we embrace the change of the season and let Him show us what adjustments we need to make.

Don’t be afraid, and don’t worry. It will be beautiful once again. Just in a different way.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV) 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

BIble Verse of The Day – 12-27-16

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

God’s grace is sufficient.

It doesn’t matter what we’re facing; the loss of a loved one, a financial crisis, a troubled relationship, sin in our own lives or anything else that we might come up against. His grace is sufficient.

Sufficient: enough to meet the needs of a situation

What are you dealing with today? What kind of situation are you facing that requires God’s grace in your life?

As we face those things that test us and show us our weaknesses, that is when we realize the need for God’s grace, and the fact that our weaknesses require His strength.

So don’t let your troubles wear you down or break you. They will if we let them. But it’s up to us to let God use those hard times to build us and strengthen our faith in Him.

And remember… no trial lasts forever. No season lasts a lifetime. Dark times come, but they also go. So hold fast to your faith and lean on Him. Joy is coming!

Psalm 30:5 (NKJV) 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-26-16

Matthew 18:32-33 (NKJV) 32 Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’

Does this remind us of ourselves? Have we maybe not shown mercy to someone else, even though we have been shown mercy in our own lives?

It can be so easy to look at others and pass judgment on someone based on one little tiny tidbit of their life that we see. Sometimes we will lack mercy when it comes to the life of another person in an area of their life where we have received mercy.

Maybe we see someone under the influence of alcohol and look down our noses at them, even though God rescued us from alcohol. Or maybe we show no mercy for someone who pulls out in front of us in traffic, even though we have done the very same thing on occasion.

We could go on and on with many, many examples of this, but it’s probably safe to say that we all get the point already.

So we just want to give a gentle reminder that God requires us to show the same mercy to others that He has shown to us.

James 2:13 (NKJV) 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-24-16

Psalm 128:1 (NKJV) 128 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways

We may find it hard in some situations to choose the way of the Lord, versus the way of man or the way of the world. However, if we choose the Lord’s way and stick to it, we will be thankful and blessed that we did.

Some people may look at us at times and think “why would we live the way we do?”, thinking we are missing out on so much, and thinking that we have no fun. But, they only see with their eyes of flesh.

Those who live their lives the way they want and rebel against the things of God may think they are getting away with it, and things may seem great for awhile. They may even think “oh it’s so much better this way”. But just know, that if they don’t change it up and get their hearts right with God, they will have to answer for their life.

Let us keep praying for this world. God is faithful to help those who are living in rebellion if they are willing to give Him a chance. He will not give up on any of us. No matter how long it takes, He will wait for us.

Keep walking in the ways of the Lord. Keep sticking to what is right. Be strong in the Lord!

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We are blessed!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-23-16

Colossians 1:13-14 (NKJV) 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

Have we ever done something wrong that hurts to even think about or be reminded of? When we think of it do we get sad or depressed? Is it constantly in the back of our minds, and we wish we could turn back time and change it all?

Its tormenting power hovers over us. And even when we want to laugh and enjoy ourselves we are reminded of this mistake we made. It can suck the life right out of us.

We cannot continue to walk around like this any longer. It’s causing us to lose our joy. And when we lose our joy we become weak.

It has stopped us from moving forward, and it’s time to put an end to it.

God wants us strong. If you are going through this today, we want to agree with you in prayer, for God to set you free from this.

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to you today with a heavy heart. I know that I have made mistakes and done wrong. It has caused some major problems and it continues to eat away at me. Every time I think about what I did it makes me sick inside. It hurts me over and over. Please help me to be free from this feeling and to be able to move on in my life.

I am truly sorry for the mistakes I have made and I ask for Your forgiveness, in Jesus’ name.

Lord, as You forgive me, please help me to also forgive myself and that those around me that were also affected by it, they too will forgive me.

Help me dear Lord to put it behind me and pick up the pieces of my life and move forward, this day. I ask in the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Let the joy of the Lord come back into your life. You are forgiven. Move on!

Psalm 106:1 (NKJV) 106 Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-16

Proverbs 15:3 (NKJV) 3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good.

The things we do that are good are not insignificant. They are being noticed. We are not wasting time or energy as we do the things God asks us to do.

They may seem little at times, and at other times they may seem overwhelming. But know that every time we step out in obedience, whether for something little or something big, God is watching.

We don’t need men to applaud us. We don’t need rewards or a pat on the back. We need to know that when we do good, God is the One who is watching.

When we go the extra mile, take that extra step, the step that no one else wants to take. When we put ourselves aside and we do for others. When we get up earlier than normal and pray for someone’s need. Or we give from our heart something that means a great deal to us, God is watching.

The good things we do don’t get swept under the carpet and lost in the shuffle. Know that you are doing a great job. Keep it up and don’t pull back just because nobody says anything or it seems that you are unappreciated. God is watching.

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NKJV) 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”
