Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-13

(1 Chronicles 16:11 NKJV)  Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

Are we needing an answer to our problems today? Are we needing someone to comfort us? Are we feeling alone and need a good friend, someone we can talk to and share everything with? Do we need someone we can trust?

Seek the Lord today and He will be there. He will have an answer for us. His arms are always wide open, He will hold us tight and comfort us!

(Psalm 46:1 NKJV)  God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-30-13

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

The renewing of your mind. What is that anyway?

It’s the key to our walk with God and how He can use us in this world we live in.

As followers of Christ, our minds shouldn’t be the same as they were before we knew Him. Our old minds used to think a certain way. They processed carnal thoughts and had no idea about spiritual things.

We functioned solely by intellect and logic. But that was before we knew the truth. Now that we have embraced the Truth, our minds have been renewed, just as we have become new creations in Christ.

So what does that mean? It means that we should now be led by God’s spirit, not by our carnal, intellectual or logical thoughts. It means that everything we do should be gaged by whether it lines up with what God says or not.

This doesn’t mean that we throw out common sense, but it does mean that sometimes God will have us say or do things that just don’t make sense to your heads. Sometimes He will have us do things that people will look at us a little funny for doing, because it won’t make sense to them.

But that’s OK. If our minds have been renewed and we are following God’s leading, we don’t need to worry about what others think.

It’s what God thinks that truly matters.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-13

(Luke 7:50 NKJV)  Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

It won’t anyone’s faith but our own that saves us.

We can not ride on the coat tails of our Pastors and get a free ride into Heaven. They can preach us a message of salvation, but it takes our faith to be saved.

The same goes for our parents, our teachers, our brothers, sisters, or our friends, etc. We can not be saved by their faith; it has to be our own personal faith in Jesus Christ.

As we call upon the name of Jesus Christ and repent from our sins, believing that He is the Son of God and that He came to save us from our sins, we shall be saved!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-13

(Luke 6:37 NKJV)  “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

We all do things that we need forgiveness for.  The New Year is approaching and we will all be pondering on what we would like to see changed in our own personal lives.

There are tons of things I’m sure we can come up with. Some of us will start eating healthier, some will start exercising more regularly and others may want to start a savings account or a new budget, etc.

One of the things that came to me this morning is that even though all these things are good for us, and it’s great to go into the New Year wanting to learn from the mistakes we’ve made, let us not forget the things that effect our heart and our walk with God.

We can all agree on one thing; we all do things we need forgiveness for. Doesn’t It bring such a relief when we pray and ask God for His forgiveness and He freely gives it to us? It feels so good!

But this verse also tells us to forgive, as well. It’s not just about God forgiving us. We play an important part in this too! If we hold onto things and don’t forgive people on our end it effects our hearts, our relationship with God, our health and our relationships with others.

Let’s all go into this new year together, pondering in our hearts, and asking if there is someone that stands out that has hurt us or stolen from us? Or maybe there’s someone who said something that hurt us or we learned something about someone and it has caused us to be angry towards them. Maybe someone we love and care for deeply disappointed us in their decisions, etc.

Whatever it may be, instead of holding onto to the pain and hurtful situation, let’s make a choice in our hearts today to let it go, to forgive that person and lay it down, handing it over to God and trusting Him to take care of it. Let’s enter into the New Year with forgiveness toward those that have been hurtful.

Forgiveness starts in our heart. It is a sincere acknowledging and wanting to let go, and not hold onto the hurt or anger any longer. When we do this sincerely, from our heart, we will be free. When we do this, not only do we forgive someone but God forgives us for things we’ve done as well.

The hurt may take some time to heal, but it will heal if we let it.

So let’s enter into this New Year with a heart of forgiveness, give it all to God, let go of the past and enter into the NEW things that God has for us!  Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-26-13

2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2 and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

This is our prayer; that the word of the Lord will run swiftly and be glorified across the whole earth!

As we approach the new year, please be in agreement with us, that God’s word will continue to go forth in power and reach those who need to hear it, in His timing and by His spirit.

During this past year we have been under attack on a personal level as well as on the ministry level, from many different angles.

We refuse to back down. We recognize it for what it really is and we are pushing back, persistent in the calling that God has placed on us to bring His word to the nations through the means that He has enabled us to move in.

So please continue to stand with us and share the words that we send out each day, passing them along to friends, family and anyone you know who might enjoy them or need to hear them.

2014 is a year of promise… God’s promise to each and every one of us for continued new life in Him, as we press into Him and follow His leading by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Rest in his love and his mercy and trust Him for everything you need.

Bible Verse of the Day – 12-25-13

(Isaiah 9:6 NKJV)  For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

We are so blessed!

God sent His Son to save this world. He did this for each one of us. If there is someone today that we know is not a follower of Christ, let us take a few minutes and pray for them. Pray that their heart would be softened and drawn to Him. And pray that God will reveal himself to them in a mighty way and they will give their heart to Christ.

If there is someone reading this today and you feel like you have taken a step off the path that God has for you, and you are feeling convicted in your heart, take some time today to ask God for forgiveness and to help you get back on track. Take one step at a time and let Him help. He loves you and will never give up on you.

Thank you, Father, for Your  love for us and for sending us a Savior, Your very Son. We lift You up this day, Lord, for You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. Praise be to You in the Most High!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-24-13

Matthew 7:1 (NKJV) “Judge not, that you be not judged.

Seven little words.

But these seven little words carry a lot of weight. And over the last several months God has been driving this home to me in many, many ways, showing me that all Christians are guilty of this and that our guilt has driven people away from Him by the millions.

100 years ago this might not have been such an obvious problem in light of that fact that there was no television, no internet and very few telephones over which people could gossip and share their judgments about others.

But it was still happening and it has bloomed into a major problem today. Modern technology has cause this problem to be magnified a million times over, causing much hurt in the world.

We need to remember that even though we know the truth of God’s word when it comes to sin, and the consequences of sin, it is not our duty to pass judgment on anyone who partakes of particular sins.

We are, after all, all sinners. And sin is sin, regardless of what kind of sin we are each guilty of.

Jesus set the example for us Himself, as He chose to LOVE sinners, rather than judge them for their sin. This was obvious in so many instances, where He would tell them plainly that He did not condemn them, but would tell them to sin no more and then send them on their way.

Church, let’s follow in His footsteps. Let’s love people for who they are and let God be their judge.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-23-13

(1 John 2:6 NKJV)  He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Does Christ abide in us today? If yes, then our walk should be like His. We have to do what He does. We have to learn how He did things and follow his example.

The Bible has so many examples of how Christ walked on this earth; how good He was to everyone, how kind and loving He was. And He also spoke up when He needed too.

Now, just because He abides in us doesn’t mean we are perfect, by any means. We will make mistakes along the way. I believe He wants us to try our best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to walk just as He walked, so that when people see us they see Him through us.

For some people, the only Gospel they will ever get is by watching our walk.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-21-13

1 Thessalonians 1:2 (NKJV) We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers…

You are loved and appreciated.

There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t stop and take the time to thank God for you, our faithful readers.

Even as so many of you have sent us emails, thanking us for what we do, those very words that you have sent are a big encouragement to us.

So, from the very bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being a part of what God has called us to do, and we pray for His blessings over your lives.

Please pray for us also. We are truly grateful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-13

Matthew 5:43-45 (NKJV) 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

It amazes me how badly the world wants to put God in a box and make Him conform to their wants and desires.

I have to admit that it can make me pretty angry sometimes. Not in a hateful way, but because I love God so much that it hurts me to see and hear anyone insult Him or slander Him in any way at all.

But God is not feeble or weak and He is always in control. He has not fallen off His throne and He is not shocked by anything He hears or sees.

If anything, seeing and hearing what you and I hear on a daily basis should teach us how to love people that much more.

It’s easy to be angry and even to feel negatively toward others, but God has commanded us to do good those who hate us and to pray for those who spitefully use us.

This is a far cry from what our flesh would like to do. But God’s way is always better, so I think it would be best if we do things His way.

Can we get an amen?

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-13

(Romans 5:3-4 NKJV)  And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; {4} and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

What is perseverance? It is the quality that allows someone to continue trying to do something even though it is difficult.

This is a good quality to have, seeing how life itself is very difficult at times.

This verse tells us that it is tribulation that produces this quality.

So be encouraged today, if we are going through a hard time, because as we go through it we will gain perseverance, character and hope and come out stronger than before.
