Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-21

Isaiah 31:1 (NKJV) 1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!

People put their trust in many things.

And as we watch the world deteriorate before our very eyes, we see people moving further and further away from trusting God and putting their trust more heavily in man and governments.

While this is extremely frustrating to watch, it is to be expected to some degree because of the season in which we live.

God’s word has told us that this would happen. He spells it out plainly in many ways.

But know this; putting our trust in anyone other than God himself is a slippery slope that will ultimately lead to destruction.

The season in which we are living requires that we have discernment, and that we are diligent in our efforts to stay in tune with His spirit.

Doing so gives us an inside edge to see things that others may not see, and to make choices and decisions based not on intellect, but on God-given wisdom and understanding.

God comes first in all things. His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts.

There is none like Him on the earth below or in the heavens above.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-30-21

1 John 3:1 (NKJV) 1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

I am so humbled today in reading this verse, knowing the love that our Father has bestowed on us.

This means that those who belong to Him, those who have put their faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, are called children of God.

It’s amazing that He went through all of this for us, and still many have not accepted it. So many have not even considered what He went through to offer us the opportunity to become His children.

When we have been provided with a way to become a child of God, who would reject such a blessing, such an honor, such an answer to all of our problems?

Don’t reject the Way, the Truth and the Life.  Receive the truth today. Repent of our sins and become a child of God this day.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-29-21

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Walking by faith is easy to envision and easy to talk about, until we actually have to do it.

But when the rubber meets the road, some things aren’t quite what we may have pictured in our minds.

Most of you are aware that God picked us up and moved us to a new land, 750 miles from where we had lived all our lives.

Our roots in New England were deep, having been there for decades. Everything was intimately familiar to us. And I mean everything!

As we made the move to our new homeland, we were excited, expectant and maybe even a little scared.

We were not scared because we lacked faith. We were not scared of the unknown. But we were scared because we didn’t know how we would react to such a change.

The place God moved us to was not a place we chose. He chose it for us. And because it was His choice for us, we didn’t know what to expect.

As we made the 12 1/2 hour drive to our new location, everything went flawlessly. The drive was peaceful and uneventful, as we had prayed and asked God for.

But a few days later, as we moved into our new home and began to work toward settling in, we must admit that there were moments when we felt like the rug had been pulled from under us as we tried to find something familiar to grab hold of.

Everything felt like a whirlwind as we tried to find a firm foothold in the natural. Nothing was familiar. Even trying to find everyday things in the house was confusing and even frustrating.

But God is faithful, even in these types of situations. And as I literally asked Him to give me something even a little familiar to grab hold of, He reassured me that everything would be fine. And it was.

Now, just a day later, I have total peace. Not because everything suddenly fell into place. But because I recognized my fragility as a human and surrendered it to Him.

This is where the power comes in the lives of believers; not in being spiritual superheroes, but in being completely surrendered to Him and being able to recognize our weaknesses and in bowing before Him where we lay them at His feet.

Go to Him. Lay those things that we wrestle with at His feet. And surrender them to Him.

He will walk us through those moments (or seasons) of fear, apprehension and frailty. And He will replace all of those things that trouble us with His peace as we do so.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-21

John 11:25 (NKJV) 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.

What a wonderful blessing for believers.

After we pass from this life, we will be alive in His presence.

We don’t just die and then that is the end of everything for us. Our best life is actually yet to come.

We get so comfortable and acclimated to things here on earth  that we think this is it! We think this is the best place to be.

And when our loved ones pass on, we look at it as if that is the end of everything. Doom and gloom, sadness and sorrow try to take over our thoughts.

It may try to keep us down and make us feel like things will never be good again.

That’s a lie! Things can be good again, knowing that Jesus has given us eternal life.

God has a plan for us all. And part of that plan is death. We will all face it. It is just as much a part of life as living.

But we don’t like to think or talk about it much, do we? And that is understandable if we don’t know what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.

Let us not get caught in the trap of doom and gloom, sadness, and sorrow because of our loss.

Search the scriptures. Get to know what Jesus did for us, and why He went to great lengths so that we may live again even after we die. Hallelujah!

Believe in Him today so we will have a home in heaven and live forever with our resurrected Savior and our heavenly Father.  Amen.

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-21

John 4:32 (NKJV) 32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”

As followers of Christ, we will often go through times when we survive on food of which the world knows nothing.

This is especially true when going through seasons of change, or times of great trials.

Our sustenance doesn’t come from natural food. It comes from the Father above, and His word.

Despite needing natural food to nourish our physical bodies, our spiritual nourishment is equally important. Simply feeding our natural body will leave our spirit starving and malnourished.

As we walk through the various chapters and seasons of our lives, it’s the spirit of God who sustains us. He becomes our food and our sustenance.

It is by this that we not only survive the trials of our lives, but we thrive and walk through them with victory as we come out the other side.

It was this very thing that caused Jesus to speak the words in the verse above. And it was the same thing that allowed Him to walk through the incredibly painful things He faced as He was led to Golgotha to be crucified.

It would do us good to learn this in our own lives, and to walk it out as we allow God to bring us through the changes and the trials that we face from day to day.

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the wonderful name of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Change of one type or another comes to our lives pretty frequently. God is faithful to lead us through those changes, as long as we’re faithful to follow Him.

In today’s video, Show Me Your Back, we teach about how to know that we are following God, so He can lead us.

This is probably the shortest video we have done to date, but very powerful in what we share, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-25-21

Psalm 119:160 (NKJV) 160 The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

We must believe the whole Bible and take to heart the things that God has spoken to us.

Stand on His Word no matter what we see going on around us. Keep our hearts focused on Him, and don’t look back.

This place we live in is only temporary. But while we are here, we must take action as God’s children.

His promises have been given to each and every one of us.

If we need salvation, it’s in Him.

If we need hope, it’s in Him.

If we need deliverance, it’s in Him.

If we need healing, it’s in Him.

He is everything. And we can do nothing without Him. We must abide in His truth.

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

He will carry us through the hardest times we have ever had to walk through and get us to the other side!

So many of us struggle with this when things begin to fall apart around us. We lose sight of Him and begin to grow weary if we are not careful.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Losing heart means that we begin doubting His very words, and giving up.

Hold tight. He is faithful to get us to the other side! Amen.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-24-21

Isaiah 26:8 (NLT) 8 Lord, we show our trust in you by obeying your laws; our heart’s desire is to glorify your name.

This verse sums up what our relationship with God should be based on; obeying Him because we trust Him, not simply because we have been told to do so, or because it’s a routine or habit.

And in doing that, we will glorify His name in everything that we do.

This is the goal we should work toward as we learn of Him and grow closer to Him.

Sometimes we tend to over-complicate our walk with God. We overthink it. We add things to it that don’t benefit that relationship or make it stronger.

And most of those things are based on human intellect or human concepts. Others are based on tradition or something we saw someone else do.

The best thing we can do is to keep it simple and build that walk based solely on Biblical principles.

If we do that, our walk with Him will be the strongest it could ever be. And because of that, we will also be the strongest we could ever be.

Keep it simple and real.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-23-21

Psalm 37:4 (NKJV) 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

He is the One we want to delight in. He is the One we want to spend time with and He is the One we want to give ourselves to and serve on a regular basis.

As we press in and learn all about Him, our desires may change to where we just want to please Him. We just want to serve Him.

He becomes so desirable and satisfying that nothing else is needed to complete us or make us happy. There is no tug of war between serving Him and wanting to do things outside of or apart from Him.

When we grow to know Him, our desires will be more aligned with what He wants for us. And He will give us those things.

Even when He blesses us with the things we desire, we will find ourselves delighting in Him more and more. Because we see how much He knows us and how much He truly cares.

God knows more about what we desire than we do. He knows our personal preferences better than we do.

Let us begin to delight ourselves in Him and let Him bring on the desires of our hearts in His timing. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-21

Isaiah 8:19 (NKJV) 19 And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?

It is well known among most believers that seeking information or answers through mediums, psychics and others who speak through spirits other than the Spirit of God is Biblically unacceptable.

And yet, most of us see it happening in large numbers all around us.

The word of God is very clear about this topic. It is mentioned many times throughout the Bible.

Astrology, spiritism, horoscopes, fortune telling and other such activities are dangerous and can really mess with a person’s walk with God, leading them down a very bad path that can sometimes be very hard to get off of.

If you’re a believer, and you’ve never been told this before, please consider yourself informed!

Steer clear of any of these practices. Run far from them, and never go back to them.

Repent, people of God, and come clean before our God, seeking His forgiveness.

Leviticus 19:31 (NJKV) 31 ‘Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-21-21

John 10:14-15 (NKJV) 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

He surely does know His sheep. And if we lean on Him, trusting His every move, we will know Him too.

This scripture says it all. He has laid His life down for us. Amen.

Sometimes I think of this and it just goes over my head. It’s so deep. To know Someone laid their life down for us, it’s a hard thing to digest.

He is a personal one-on-one Savior! This means that He did it for you and He did it for me. Each one of us were on His heart.

Even though He knows what we are all about, He still loved us enough to die on the cross out of obedience to His Father and His love for us.

Boy, we couldn’t be more blessed than this. He is an amazing Lord and Savior!
