Bible Verse of The Day – 6-30-20

Psalm 121:7-8 (NKJV) 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

No one likes suffering, suffering spells pain. It’s hard to accept the fact that even as a child of God we will suffer at times while we are alive on this earth. But, at least with Him, we have Someone to help us through it. Amen.

Who says, “OK God, bring on the suffering part of my life please. I want to get it over with.”? No one! Instead, we most likely hope we never have to endure such tribulations.

Pain for any length of time will make us want to give up. But if we fight hard to hold fast to Him, He will give us wisdom to come out on the other side with victory, and having learned some valuable lessons.

Joshua 23:8 (NKJV) 8 but you shall hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day.

Who’s in this place today? We know what it feels like. Suffering is suffering, no matter how we look at it. We can relate.

The Lord shall preserve you, your children, your finances, your work/business, your spouse and your ministry, etc., from evil. In Jesus name. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-20

Genesis 25:26 (NKJV) 26 Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.

Jacob’s life was interesting.

From the day he was born, he was a deceiver. In fact, his name actually means “deceitful”.

Jacob spent his early life on a constant quest to steal his brother Esau’s blessings. And in the end, he was able to do so with the help of Rachel, his mother.

Later in life, God blessed Jacob tremendously.

In seeing this, you might wonder how someone who was a deceiver could be blessed by God. So, let’s take a closer look at his life overall.

After Jacob’s younger years, when he had stolen his brother’s firstborn rights, Jacob fled from home to escape being killed by his brother, and went to the land of his mother’s brother, Laban, where he planned on staying for a short time to allow his brother’s wrath to subside.

Once he arrived at Laban’s, he endeavored to stay and work for him for a short time.  After a month, Laban asked Jacob what he required for wages. Jacob had fallen in love with Laban’s daughter, Rachel, and asked Laban to allow him to marry her.

Laban said he would allow Jacob to marry her if Jacob worked for him for 7 years, Jacob readily agreed to Laban’s terms.

After the 7 years, Laban made the arrangements for Jacob and Rachel to be married, but pulled a fast one at the last moment, deceiving Jacob into marrying his older daughter, Leah, instead.

After another 7 years of labor, Laban finally allowed Jacob to marry Rachel.

But the trickery continued for 20 years, with Jacob being repeatedly deceived by Laban.

In the end, Jacob had to steal away with his two wives, his children and all of their possessions, so Laban wouldn’t have the opportunity to hold them any longer.

It may have initially looked like Jacob’s early years of trickery and deceit had paid off when he stole his brother’s blessings. But the next 20 years of his life were spent with the shoe on the other foot, so to speak, being tricked by someone else.

Jacob had received the just reward for the things he had done to his brother and his father.

Now, as he left Laban after learning lessons at the hands of another deceiver, and he moved on to the next season of his life, God could begin to bless him and make his life fruitful.

So, even though Jacob’s early life was spent being a deceiver, he eventually reaped from the seeds he had sown.

We can learn many lessons from this. First, that God is just. And what we sow will bring fruit to our lives, even if it’s bad fruit.

Second, that God is merciful, and that even if we may not be a righteous man or woman initially, He can work with us if we allow Him to, teaching us valuable lessons from poor choices we may have made, and then using those lessons to help us teach others dealing with similar problems.

May we never think that anyone is beyond the reach of God’s hope, mercy and forgiveness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-28-20 – Except By Prayer & Fasting

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

Fasting. It’s a word that most of us run from when we hear it. It’s also something very few believers truly understand.

This past week, we sent out a devotional about fasting. In return, we received a lot of questions from people who wanted to know more about it, and wanted a better understanding of it in the Biblical sense.

So, we have put this video together, “Except By Prayer and Fasting”, where we spend time teaching about Biblical fasting, how it’s done and what it means, not only from a definitive aspect, but for the body of Christ, as the warriors that God wants us to be.

We do hope you will take the time to watch it and get a better understanding of this often-overlooked and much-misunderstood topic.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope you enjoy the rest of your day.

Sincerely,

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-27-20

Matthew 11:30 (NKJV) 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

When God deals with something on the inside of us, He removes it. It’s gone.

It doesn’t mean we don’t remember what happened. It just means that He makes it so we don’t carry the burden of it any longer. He makes it easy on us.

Are we letting Him completely deal with our stuff? Or are we pretending?

We do that sometimes. We give it over with our words, but in our heart we don’t let it fully go.

Let’s break it down.

One day when we are tired, we say, “Lord take this from me and deal with it accordingly. I can’t anymore”.

Then, on another occasion, maybe we are feeling a little better, little stronger, or maybe a little feistier, so we try and “help” Him move a little quicker by sticking our noses in and doing it our way.

What is that?

That is saying, “Lord, I gave it to you on Sunday, but Monday I’m taking it back”. That is saying, “Lord You are not moving fast enough for me”. That is saying, “Lord I don’t really trust that You are going to deal with it because you have more important things on Your plate, so maybe I need to tend to it myself”.

When God deals with something, it’s over for good. But when we try to deal with it, we are back and forth with our emotions. It’s not complete. There will always be fragments in there that we missed.

Let Him have the whole thing and watch how He gets rid of it for good. Carry only what He wants us to carry. Walk and live light.

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-26-20

Psalm 34:19 (NKJV) 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Affliction; Something that causes pain or suffering. Ailment, trouble, indisposition, menace, trouble.

We have all experienced something that falls into at least one of those categories. Maybe we’re even facing something like that right now. They are a part of life that there is honestly no escape from. Stuff just happens, and we all have to deal with it on one level or another.

It’s interesting to note that the Psalmist states that “many are the afflictions of the righteous”. There is an inference here that says righteous people may well face more afflictions than the non-righteous.

This may be quite true, since afflictions sometimes come because of our faith.

Sometimes they may come in the form of persecution for our faith. Other times they may come because we make choices based on our faith and our convictions that put us in precarious situations.

Whatever way they come, the verse above says this about it; “The Lord delivers us out of them all”.

That’s something we can count on.

The thing to remember is that the way out might not always come in the timing we’d like it to, or in the way we’d like it to. That doesn’t mean, however, that it doesn’t come. It just means that it comes in God’s way, not ours.

So, that thing that’s plaguing you right now? That thing that doesn’t seem to want to go away and let your life return to normal anytime soon? Those consequences that came about because of a choice we wish we hadn’t made?

God sees and He knows what’s happening. And if we’re willing to let Him, He is working them out on our behalf, moving things and putting things in place to help us.

All we have to do is to make sure we don’t get in His way and try to “help” Him, derailing the plan He has in place, causing it to take even longer than it already has.

Trust Him. We may not always understand, but He is working on our behalf.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-20

Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

From this very first verse of the Bible, God was in the beginning!! He created the heavens and the earth.

In order for something to need creating, it means it didn’t exist to begin with. So, it was empty and void. I can’t even imagine what “nothing” looks like.

Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

There is not anything clearer and simpler than this; God is the Creator of it all!

He created everything, including man.

Genesis 1:27 (NKJV) 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Therefore, being His creation, we are accountable to our Creator. What does He ask for? He asks for our hearts to become One with Him. Otherwise we will remain just His creation.

It we want to be more than this, and we want to be able to call Him Father, we have to follow the rules. His creation must be saved. We must have a new heart. A saved heart. A clean heart with a new spirit. And He will give us this as we exchange it for our heart of stone.

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

How do we get a clean, saved and renewed heart?

Romans 10:13 (NKJV) 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Jesus Christ, God’s Son, made this possible for us. As we believe in Him and call on His name, we will be saved.

The love that we have for Him will cause us to keep His word. And because of this, God the Father and Jesus the Son will both come and live in us.

John 14:23 (NKJV) 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.

If we, as believers, are walking around with the Father and the Son living in us, the greatest love relationship ever known to man, what does that make us?

That makes us able to love one another, forgive each other and not hold grudges. Why? Because love, the very thing He commands us all to do, is actually dwelling and living in us!

John 15:17 (NKJV) 17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-24-20

Genesis 13:14-15 (NKJV) 14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.

While reading and studying about Abraham, something really stood out to me; Abraham put God first in everything and honored Him the best he knew how. And because of that, God blessed Abraham in everything he did.

You see, Abraham took the extra time to give God glory and honor everywhere he went. He built altars and made sacrifices to honor His name.

And everywhere new that Abraham traveled to, he built another altar, as though proclaiming that this was God’s land.

Abraham was also not afraid to give and share of his wealth. And he never took what wasn’t his.

We can learn a lot from studying Abraham. We can learn how to honor God and put Him first. We can learn how to be generous. We can learn how to be upright. We can learn how to be a blessing to God and to others. And we can learn how to be blessed by God.

Abraham’s life wasn’t perfect. He was human, after all. But God’s word shows us that in the grand scheme of things, he did very well with his life.

Most importantly, because he trusted God and believed whatever God told Him, God credited it to him as righteousness.

Genesis 15:6 (NKJV) 6 And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.

Let’s learn from Abraham and apply what we learn to our lives, so we can be a blessing to God and others, and God can bless us too!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-20

Matthew 17:21 (NKJV) 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Fasting and praying are very much required for bringing down strongholds, in our lives and in the lives of others.

When is the last time we fasted? Can we even remember? Maybe some have never ever fasted at all. But, that’s OK. It’s not too late to start.

Fasting is usually done when we really need to see some change. It is usually done when we are desperate for answers and have no other options.

But really, fasting should not only be done for ourselves and our own needs. It should be done on a wider scale.

Right now, the world is going crazy. Where are our morals? Just about anything goes here in America. What will we allow next?

Our countries have all gone downhill hugely. We, the church, must rise up and begin to take it back by force. We’re not talking about physical force, but by spiritual force.

Matthew 11:12 (NKJV) 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

Fasting and praying is the force that wins! It is the only thing that will work when the enemy has a hold or a grip on people or on a country so badly.

When the enemy feels he has the right to be doing what he’s doing and he has been given permission by the people, he won’t stop for anything.

But God and His authority will walk him right out that door as long as there are those who will line up with God and stand, not backing down! He will shut the enemy down.

He gave us the authority through Christ, His Son, to step on the enemy and keep him down.

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We are in a place right now where if we don’t take a firm stand for what we believe, we could lose our freedom.

Let us stand together, through fasting and praying, for God’s will to be done in our world. For the lives of those that are so lost and who need to come to Him. For Godly men and women to be positioned and to stand at their posts, being in the right places at the right time.

Let us rise together in our hearts, through prayer and fasting, for such a deliverance for our countries today. Amen

Ephesians 6:13 (NKJV) 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-22-20

Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV) 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

So often we see this verse used to talk about God’s plans for a person’s life.

It is often used in a way that lifts people up and encourages them.

Today we’re going to look at this verse from a slightly different angle. We’re going to look at it so we can discuss the sanctity of human life.

God’s statement that He knew Jeremiah before He formed Him shows us that Jeremiah was a precious human being before he was ever born. And God recognized him as such.

Sadly, the importance of the sanctity of life has been kicked to the curb these days, thrown away like a piece of trash.

The killing of unborn babies has drastically increased over the last 30 years, reaching numbers of epic proportion.

In the USA alone, the lives of unborn babies are snuffed out by the hundreds of thousands each year. The numbers added to that figure in other nations makes the total figures staggering to comprehend.

As the body of Christ, we need to take very seriously the sanctity of life. And we need to use the weapons of warfare that God has equipped us with in order to effectively combat the horrific things we are seeing. We need to fight them in the spirit realm, where they dwell.

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

These are not battles of the flesh. They are spiritual battles. And they are intense.

It’s important that we understand that we absolutely need to fight in the spirit to combat the things we are seeing in the natural.

We can’t expect laws to change the hearts of people, even though laws are absolutely necessary.

We can’t expect rhetoric to draw people to God for forgiveness.

And we can’t expect heated discussions to bring repentance to the hearts of those who can’t see the error in which they operate.

It’s long past time for the bride of Christ to don her armor and step up as warriors, to do battle against the darkness, laying aside the things that hinder us and prevent us from fighting effectively.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NKJV) 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…

Please join us in battle, warring for the souls of man, in an effort to combat the darkness and push it back, shining God’s light where it will draw the hearts of man to the One who created them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-20-20

Psalm 27:13 (NKJV) 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

Don’t take life for granted; our family, our friends and our surroundings.

Make sure we make every day count with them! And enjoy the beauty that lies within that day. Every day there is something we can be thankful for.

If we tend to have a negative outlook on everything it’s going to be hard to find the goodness of the Lord. But keep trying and they will be there.

We may not have everything we want today. But If we are God’s child, we have what we need.

Maybe we are about to lose our home, or our job. Maybe our health isn’t the greatest and we are on medication, and the medication is causing side effects, making us feel less than ideal.

There are a lot of things we can say about today. Maybe someone just lost a loved one. Maybe someone is not able to have children. Maybe someone can’t work because of health issues.

With every bad or negative thing going on with us, we can think of something good and positive that is going right!

How about we start today, looking at the good things. And start sharing them, instead of always looking at what’s wrong.

Let us take today and have a conversation about the things that are going right; the good things that are happening right now.

I’m sure there are good things for us all to share about. Right now, maybe it’s only just one good thing. But that’s OK. It’s better than no good things.

Look high and look low. Look in between. Search for the good thing and shout them from the rooftop. God’s goodness is in the land of the living!
