Bible Verse of The Day – 2-28-18

Psalm 31:3 (NKJV) 3 For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.

Becoming a Christian happens when we truly believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and that He came to save us from our sins.

His death on the cross was for one purpose; to save us from our sinful nature. He made it possible for us to have a relationship with God, His Father, and live eternal life in Heaven. Praise be to God!!

Walking daily with Jesus is different than life was without Him. After we become a Christian, we have to decide to allow our relationship with Him to grow deeper. This happens when we open ourselves up to the Holy Spirit, our Helper, and allow Him to come and help guide us each day. He guides us in our prayers and He helps us keep our eyes open and be discerning. This keeps us alert.

Mark 14:38 (NKJV) 38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

You know how much more we can see when we yield to the Holy Spirit? He has a way of clearing our vision when we yield our eyes and ears to Him. Things get done when we walk by the Spirit, versus walking by the flesh. The verse above says that our flesh is weak. And this is very true.

The flesh is full of itself, and it has no room for anything or anyone else. It’s selfish. It will make decisions based on what it wants, putting itself first and above everything else.

The Spirit is out to help us in any way He can. His agenda is to fix things and make them right. With Him we are quick to discern right from wrong.

Sometimes we don’t have a lot of time to make a decision. It needs to be made quickly, accurately and in that moment. The Holy Spirit will guide us in making the right move.

Our walk is so much more complete when we give Him room to help.

John 14:16 (NKJV) 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-27-18

Luke 4:35 (NKJV) 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.

What did Jesus do? He shut up the voice of the liar!

The devil is a liar, and until we shut him up and tell him to be quiet and get out of here, he will keep trying to get us to believe him. He will keep trying to destroy us.

Some of us today are worn out from the fight. We are tired of the battle, and we are slowly caving in to the wrong voice.

Take a moment today and tell the devil to be quiet and get out, in the name of Jesus Christ.

We need to pick ourselves up by the word of God and know who He is saying we are.

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

That’s right, more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Jesus loves us today and has given us a conquering spirit, not a spirit of fear, doubt or defeat.

Don’t listen to the devil. Silence his voice by shutting him up. Walk away and move forward in the things God has for us! Amen.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-26-18

Philippians 3:10 (NKJV) 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death…

Many of us, or maybe even most of us, want to know God more intimately than we do now. Some of us only know Him a little. Some of us know Him very well. Either way, though, we long to know Him better.

Personally, I crave to know Him more deeply. It’s a yearning that I feel inside of me. It drives me. It pushes me to go deeper with Him. To work harder to obtain the knowledge and understanding that I need in order to walk more closely with my Father, my Creator, the Giver of life to us all.

And don’t make any mistakes regarding the words “work harder”. I’m not implying that works (good deeds) will draw us closer to God. I’m referring, instead, to making whatever effort is needed to push away the obstacles that would try and hinder me and interfere with me, in order to prevent me from reaching my goal of knowing Him more intimately.

As I write this, I feel the words of Paul resounding within me, as He shared his longing for the very same thing.

Philippians 3:8-11 (NKJV) 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

I may not have been through the same things as Paul when it comes to paying a price for my faith. But I still feel the same longing within me to “know Him and the power of His resurrection” in my life.

Many of you reading this are likely feeling the same thing. Are you longing to know Him more? Is He calling you to go deeper with Him? Do you feel like there are so very many things that try to hinder you and prevent you from pressing in to Him and building a deeper relationship with Him?

That’s the work I’m referring to! The work that’s required to meet Him in a quiet place and listen for His voice as He speaks to our hearts and nurtures us as only He can do.

He is there, church. He’s in the quiet places, beckoning us, calling us to come away from the noise and the distractions. Reminding us that it’s never too late to start. That today is a new day full of wonder that He wants to be able to share with us, one-on-one.

It’s time, children of God. It’s time to stop putting it off; the work that’s required to cast off those things that hold us down like a ball and chain, preventing us from meeting and communing with Him.

Only we can change it. We have to want it badly enough to do something about it. We have to desire it like nothing else. And we have to be willing to do what it takes to obtain it.

We work so hard for other things that are meaningless compared to eternity. We slave away our hours, days and weeks for material possessions. We trade our hours for dollars day after day.

Now it’s time for us to put that much effort into our walk with God.

Do it. We dare you. And we promise you’ll never, ever be the same again.

Bible Verse of The Day – Recognizing The Subtle Tactics of The Enemy – 2-25-18

Greetings!

Did you know that the enemy doesn’t always tempt us with things that are blatantly obvious? He’s sneaky and sly, and he will use whatever tactics he can to try to get us to pull away from God.

We just published our latest video on this topic.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Using subtle tactics can cause us to begin to pull away from God, a tiny bit at a time. In fact, it may happen so slowly and subtly that we don’t even recognize that it’s happening until there is a great distance between us and God.

Please click here to watch the video now.

So, it’s important that we learn to recognize these subtle tactics, so we don’t fall prey to them.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We do hope you’ll take the time to watch this and learn from it.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-24-18

Mark 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Sometimes, continuing to believe is one of the hardest parts of walking with God.

It’s not that we have trouble believing in God himself. But sometimes we have trouble believing what God tells us or what He shows us.

This happens quite often because things don’t usually happen instantly. They take time. And while we’re waiting on those things to happen, our faith can waiver and unbelief can creep in.

Part of believing God is following His leading and doing what He shows us that we need to do. If we are faithful to do this, it will help combat the tendency to struggle with believing.

One of the best things we can do to push unbelief out of our lives is to stay in God’s word. His word is food for our spirits. By consuming His word, we keep our spirit nourished and strong. This gives us the strength we need to fight the enemy as he pounds on our door, fighting to come in and derail our faith.

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

One thing we need to remember is that it’s OK to tell God if we’re struggling with unbelief. He’s not going to get upset and walk away from us!

On the contrary, He will help us believe if we ask Him to. The man in Mark 9:24 shouted out and asked Jesus to help his unbelief!

So, if there are times that we find ourselves struggling with unbelief, instead of giving up and abandoning what we’re trying to accomplish, we need to cry out and ask God to help our unbelief, and then dig in and feed on His word, which will reinforce our faith and our ability to believe.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-23-18

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Have you ever stopped and thought about why people spend so much time worrying?

Why do we worry, you and me? What causes us to fret and waste time wondering what’s going to happen in certain situations? Why do we devote time and energy to speculating and contemplating the “what ifs”?

You see, the truth of the matter is that the vast majority of the things we worry about never come to pass. So, the time and energy we spent fretting was completely wasted.

Worrying accomplishes exactly nothing. Zero.

And, in reality, even if the things happen that we’re worrying about, they are rarely as bad as we might have imagined. And when everything is said and done, we always make it through in one way or another.

If we’re in God’s hands, like He teaches us that we are, we will always be taken care of, even if it’s not the way we had pictured it would be.

Worrying does absolutely nothing to help us.

Matthew 6:27 (NKJV) 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

So, when trials or hard times hit, instead of worrying as a first resort and trusting God as a last resort, let’s go to God first! We need to stick so close to Him that there’s not even a big enough gap between us and God for worries to squeeze their way in!

Trust God!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-22-18

Hebrews 4:15 (NKJV) 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Many times we think that we are on our own when it comes to being tempted or tested, but that is simply not true.

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, was tempted in every way and He can sympathize with us. But He also overcame the temptation He was faced with and He can help us overcome ours.

How?

We must reach out to Him and ask Him for help. We must follow the steps that He gives us to take.

A lot of times He will show us only one step at a time. Once we take the first step, the rest will follow. We cannot skip or miss steps when it comes to overcoming our weaknesses or temptation.

Every step must be followed through.

If you are being tempted and you can’t seem to beat it, this is not uncommon. Trying to beat something on our own that tempts us will cause us to fail. We need Jesus and the help He has for us.

He sent the Holy Spirit for us and we need to let Him do His job.

He will give us the strength we need to say no to temptation. He will give us the wisdom and the courage to get out and away from certain situations in advance, so we don’t get caught up in it again.

So remember, overcoming temptation and weakness takes us going to Jesus and asking for His help, and then following His steps, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit working in us.

John 14:16 (NKJV) 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-21-18

1 Peter 3:11 (NKJV) 11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.

The more of God we get in us, the more at peace we will be.

How do we get more of God? We turn away from evil ways and do good.

Sin is what puts distance between us and God. If we can be fresh in His word every day, through reading and prayer, our spirit will be quick to listen and hear what the Holy Spirit is reminding us of; what to do and NOT to do.

The Holy Spirit will convict us, whether we are in the process of doing something or just starting to do something, He doesn’t care. He will let us know.

He doesn’t wait for a convenient time. He just moves, and we are to listen and act accordingly.

For instance, maybe we are out and about among friends, and they seem to be having fun. Maybe they begin doing things that we know aren’t good. But the next thing we know, we are going along with it all.

It’s in those moments when we get tempted or off track, and we start to go down the wrong road, that He will pipe up, tap us on the shoulder or quicken our spirit. And He will remind us who we are in Christ.

It doesn’t matter to Him who may get offended by it. He’s there to be our Helper and He does an excellent job of it.

None of us are perfect. God knows when we are slipping and need Help. Stay in His word. Be prayerful and listen when He is tapping us on our shoulder. Turn away from what is wrong and do what is good.

Seek peace and pursue it! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-20-18

Ephesians 4:2 (NKJV) 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love…

It’s so easy to get upset with someone when they make the same mistake over and over again.

We tend to forget about all the mistakes that we have made in the past. Why is it so easy to see others’ faults, but not pay attention to our own? When it comes to our own mistakes, we tend to brush them off like they’re no big deal.

This past year was a year of helping struggling people. It seemed like everywhere we looked, or everywhere we went, there were struggling people. One right after another.

Most of the struggling we saw in this particular season was with addictions and substance abuse, causing very major health issues for those people.

We truly wanted to help each one of them as much as we could. But, sometimes we found ourselves struggling, trying to keep up with it all.

We learned that no matter what kind of expression people have on their face, deep down they could be struggling in the worst way.

The question we had to ask ourselves is, “are we going to spend time judging them for their struggle or are we going to help them through it and bear it with them, in love?”.

As hard as it is, sometimes we want to sit down and really have a heart to heart talk with them and explain why they are going through the same thing over and over again. But one thing we have learned is that they may not be ready to hear it and doing that can push them away from us.

Most times struggling people just need a friend they can trust, someone who really loves them. And, in time, God may open the door to share His words with them that may make a difference in their lives.

But first things first; it takes “bearing in love with one another” before anything else can happen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-19-18

Romans 4:5 (NKJV) 5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness…

Our good works do not make us righteous in God’s eyes. It doesn’t happen that way.

Some types of religious organizations may promote good works as a way to obtain righteousness. But, righteousness in God’s eyes comes through having faith and believing in who Jesus says He is, and what He did for each one of us.

When we give our life over and surrender it up to Him, that faith that we have in Him is accounted for righteousness.

This is all made possible by the blood of Christ. His shed blood washed away our sins and made it possible for God to look upon us as righteous and cleansed; spotless.

We can’t get this by our good works or good deeds. It’s by faith and faith alone.

Do we believe on Him, Jesus Christ, who justifies the ungodly? Do we trust Him as our Redeemer, Healer and Provider? If so, then our faith is accounted for righteousness!

My Bible Verse of The Day – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow – 2-18-18

Greetings, in the precious name of Jesus!

Yesterday, today and tomorrow. Three words that make up our lives.

What we did yesterday creates our today. And how we handle today shapes our tomorrows. Do we let God guide and lead us as we walk through our todays?

We just launched a new video, called Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, and it covers this topic.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We tend to let our past dictate who we are. But God doesn’t want us living like this. If we have asked Him to, He has forgiven our past and has made us new. We are a new creation in Christ. And this is how we need to live!

Please click here to watch the video now.

So we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch this video and let God speak to your heart.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Let God forgive your yesterday and guide your today, in order to shape your tomorrows!

Sincerely in Christ,
