Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-13

(Mark 16:6 NKJV)  But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

Jesus is risen!

Those three words are the hope upon which our salvation is based. Without the resurrection, the death of Jesus would have served no purpose whatsoever.

The fact that he rose from the grave on the third day broke the back of sin and death and gave us all a new chance at life, free from the burden of our sin and the sting of death.

As we move into the weekend, we urge you to be focused on what we are supposed to be celebrating… the resurrection of our Savior.

The world has so diluted this celebration that it has become almost benign and meaningless. Eggs, bunnies and other irrelevant things have replaced our Jesus and drawn the attention away from our hope and placed it on things… things that we are manipulated into buying because of clever marketing schemes.

Save your money and spend this weekend celebrating life… the life that was sacrificed for you and for me, to give us freedom.

Happy resurrection day to you and your loved ones.

He is risen indeed!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-13

(Psalm 86:3 NKJV)  Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long.

Do we ever feel like David felt at times? Like all we do is cry out to God for we are in such need?

Are we in a desperate place and need help immediately?  I think we all have those moments; the moment of not knowing how it will all turn out and how long it will take.

It’s OK to have these moments and to cry out to God. He is there for us.

Let this be our prayer today, for all those that are in need and scared.

Dear God,

Be merciful to us, O Lord, For we cry to You all day long. Help us in our desperate situation, we ask, in Jesus Name, Amen!

We are not alone. Be blessed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-28-13

(2 Corinthians 5:10 NKJV)  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

In these days of heated political battles and the escalating fight between good and evil, it can be very easy to get caught in the middle of debates regarding moral issues and other hot buttons that abound in the world we live in.

These can be such topics as homosexuality, same-sex marriage, abortion, etc. Everyone seems to have an opinion on these and most people are very passionate about their opinion.

In the end, God is our judge; not the courts, the Supreme Court justices, the politicians, the church leaders or any other outspoken leaders or people who just want to be heard.

If God says something is so, then it is so. It doesn’t matter what anyone’s opinion is. Period.

And in the end, we will all stand before Him and answer for those things that we have said and done. This is what matters.

In the meantime, we need to stand firm in our Biblical convictions but we also need to love those around us while doing so. Constant arguments and heated debates will not show God’s love.

If we find ourselves in situations where things are getting heated, it’s best to speak our piece and walk away. We don’t need to feel like we should always have the last word.

So stand firm for what God has taught you and love those around you, even if you might not necessarily agree with how they live or what they stand for.

Remember… Love Always Wins!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-27-13

(Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

There are probably many of us reading this verse today who are familiar with it. Perhaps many of us have even heard many messages preached or taught using this verse.

Well, today is a good day to hear it again!!

Did you know that it takes faith to please God? That’s right! Without faith, it is impossible to please Him.

(Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Are we diligently seeking Him today? Or are we just hoping He will come through for us?

Diligent: characterized by steady, earnest, and energetic effort

We must be diligent and active in our faith! We must energetically pursue God, pressing in to know Him more intimately.

This is what pleases Him. So if you’re feeling like your walk with God is lifeless and passive, make a vow to breathe new life into it by passionately seeking Him.

Do this! Be relentless in your pursuit of Him and watch your faith grow to new heights.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-13

(3 John 1:2 NKJV)  Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Our prayer for you today is this scripture above. We want to see and hear of God’s victories in your life.

In order for this to take place we must be obedient and follow God’s will for our lives.

What is He telling you to do today to make this happen in your life? Do you need to step out in faith and leave where you are at?

Do you need to stand in faith and stay where you are at, put down your roots and dig deep, not letting people and what they say move you?

Do you need to take a step of faith with your finances and give your tithes or offerings, even though your finances are tight and you see no way of making ends meet if you do?

Do you need to step in faith and help someone today, someone that drives you crazy just to hear their voice?

God may be speaking to our hearts today; don’t ignore the still small voice and miss out on a prosperous life.

Here in the USA, the Spring season is here! This is the season when new things begin. Today, may there be new things beginning in our lives. Let us take the steps needed to prosper in ALL things!!

AMEN!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-25-13

(1 Corinthians 15:33 NKJV)  Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Even though we are to shine God’s light throughout this earth, we also need to understand that we have to be careful who we spend a lot of time with.

We can shine God’s light in a situation but it doesn’t mean we need to live there. Shine the light and move on.

If we stay in the company of evil for a too long it can begin to corrupt us and the goodness within us.

It doesn’t take long. Be aware of it and take precautions.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-23-13

(1 Peter 5:8 NKJV)  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

We’d like to remind everyone today who our enemy is. It is not our neighbor. It is not a politician. It is not our boss at work.

It is not any single human being. Some of these people may seem like our enemy, but our true enemy is the devil.

He is real. He is not a fable or a storybook character. He is in the world, looking for people like you and me to destroy.

The world is full of evidence of his existence. In fact, we see more and more evidence every day. Evil abounds in the world.

So be sober and vigilant and know that your enemy pursues you and desires to hurt you.

But we have a Savior! His name is Jesus. And for those of us who call Him ours, He is our protector. He is our source. He is the giver of life!

Bad things may come our way and some of them may even hurt us. But our enemy can never have us if we cling to Jesus.

Cling to Jesus today. Give yourself to Him and give Him your all. In Him is life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-22-13

(1 Corinthians 16:14 NKJV)  Let all that you do be done with love.

When I read this verse the other day it really caught my attention.

I said to myself, “wow, in all that I do I should do it with love”. That day I took some time and paid close attention to myself and the way I handled certain things. I watched and listened carefully, making sure that when I did something, it didn’t matter what it was, I did it with the right attitude.

I caught myself at times and had to adjust my attitude. It was good for me to be aware of it and address it right then and there, while I was in the moment.

Why should we do all that we do with love? Because this is how God’s light shines through us. This is when people see Christ working through us.

It’s love the changes the heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-21-13

(Numbers 20:11-12 NKJV)  Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank. {12} Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

As you read this passage, there might not be anything that really stands out about it, other than the fact that water flowed from a rock.

But there is something very significant about Moses striking the rock. You see, God had instructed Moses to speak to the rock, not to strike it. But because Moses had previously struck a rock and water had flowed, he chose to disobey God and strike the rock as he had done in the past.

God still caused water to flow, but he admonished Moses and Aaron afterward and told them that they would not be allowed to usher the Israelites into the Promised Land.

Do we act the same way as Moses? Do we feel like we need to keep doing the same things that worked for us in the past, because we don’t believe God when He shows us a new way?

Are we stuck in a rut, falling into routines, habits and rituals in our walk with God because it’s the way we’ve always done it? Doing this ties God’s hands and smothers the Holy Spirit, preventing Him from moving in our lives.

So we would ask again, are we doing this in our own lives, as Moses did? Let’s check ourselves and see.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-13

(Numbers 11:23 NKJV)  And the LORD said to Moses, “Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”

Are we asking God this same question today? Where are you, God? Has Your arm been shortened?

Have you been in your situation so long that you are beginning to wonder about this?

When we are having good times, of course everything is good. We are confident we are heading down the right road and we are doing the right things.

When trouble comes, and it takes a bit to figure things out…it’s different. It causes us to take a look at ourselves and make changes, if needed. We take the time and ask ourselves are we doing the right things or have we strayed in the wrong direction. Did we make a wrong turn somewhere? What?

This is all good; we should check ourselves. We should be accountable for our actions. If we went off track a bit, God wants us to get back on track. He will be more than happy to help us get back on.

Sometimes we may even feel like He is nowhere around; it seems quiet. At times it can seem so quiet that we think nothing’s happening. We may feel that we have gone too far or done too much wrong to even expect Him to want to help us.

We may even feel He has left us alone to fix things ourselves. That is just not true! That is a lie and we all know where lying voices come from.

No matter how far away we have strayed from the right path, God’s arm has not been shortened. As we repent and truly want to receive His help, His arm will reach down and pick us up right where we are at.

Today, know this; that God’s arm is not too short to reach us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-19-13

(John 8:3-4 NKJV)  Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, {4} they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.

Most of us are familiar with this story. A woman was caught in the act of adultery and she was brought before Jesus by her accusers to see how He would handle this situation.

Ultimately, Jesus shamed them all and they walked away, one by one, dropping the large stones that they had intended to kill her with. He taught them that before they could condemn anyone, they’d better make sure their own lives were free of sin.

Finally, the only ones left there were Jesus and the accused woman.

Now, most times when this story is taught, people focus on the fact that Jesus told the woman that she was forgiven. And this is very true. Jesus did tell her that she was forgiven.

But just as importantly, Jesus said something else to her that was critical. He told her to “go and sin no more“.

(John 8:11 NKJV)  … And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

Repentance is a key part of forgiveness. Without it, the picture gets distorted. If we ask God to forgive us for something that we have done, we’d better be prepared to repent and turn away from those things that we’re asking to be forgiven for.

Asking for forgiveness and then going right back to that same sin isn’t true repentance.

Just as Jesus did, we urge you today to “go and sin no more”.
