Bible Verse of The Day – 2-16-15

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Nowadays it’s hard to find anything that’s stable for very long.

The economy is a mess worldwide. Jobs no longer offer stability. Relationships always seem to be on the rocks, falling apart under the stress and pressures of life.

But we don’t have to fear this instability, no matter what the world throws at us.

If our faith and trust is in Christ, we have a solid foundation under us. Our lives are not subject to the ups and downs of what life throws at us.

Yes, the storms will come. And, yes, we may get knocked around a bit in those storms, and sometimes we may even be wounded and have scars to show for it. But if we are anchored in Christ, we will prevail and we will be victorious in our lives!

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

It’s all about our faith and where it lies. Is our trust in the things and the institutions of this world, or are we anchored in Jesus Christ?

Only we can answer this question. And only we can make this choice. Choose Christ.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-14-15

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Everything we need to know about living a good and right life is in God’s Word. We can recite the scriptures by memorizing them. We can even try to teach them to the best of our knowledge and ability. The Word of God gives us clear direction.

But knowing and doing are two completely different things. The truth of the matter is that no matter how much we learn and take in, we can not do this on our own. We need a Helper.

Jesus Christ sent us a Helper for this reason, so that we don’t just know about the Word and what it says, but that we may actually have the strength and wisdom to walk in it; to be able to apply it to our everyday lives and the situations that we run into from time to time.

If we want to see things change in our lives, in the church as a whole, or in this world, we will not accomplish it without our Helper.

Give Him a place in our life, in our day, in the hour in which we live. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide us today in all that we do. He is there for every one of us.

Acts 2:38,39 (NKJV) 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-13-15

Psalm 68:5 (NKJV) 5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation.

God cares for the orphans and the widows. He will be their father and take care of those who have lost their spouse.

He is a good Papa. He knows what we need and will provide for each one accordingly.

The are some fathers who have never really been a good father to their children, always thinking of themselves and having no time for them.

There are women who are married but hardly see their spouse because he is so caught up in work or sports; anything but his wife.

God is there for those without. He sees your pain and He hears your cry. He will wipe those tears and carry you through.

Trust Him to fill that void.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-12-15

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Fear is a terrible thing.

Fear can cause people to do things that they might otherwise never imagine themselves doing.

Fear can destroy relationships. Fear can destroy nations. And fear can destroy lives.

Fear can cause people to take the life of another. And it can cause people to take their own life.

Fear can cause us to run and hide. It can cause us to turn to drugs or alcohol. And it can cause us to run from God.

But let me share something with you about fear.

Fear is not of God, Fear is of the enemy, and you can overcome it, with God’s help.

God did not give us a spirit of fear. Think about it. God gave us His spirit. That is the only spirit He gives us. Everything we need comes from Him, by way of His spirit.

Any spirit other than the Holy Spirit is not of Him, but from the devil and his demons; evil spirits.

Is a spirit of fear tormenting you? Rebuke it, in the name of Jesus.

God’s word says that His people perish for a lack of knowledge or understanding.

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

Not having knowledge or an understanding about fear can cause people to struggle, and even, ultimately, to perish.

So today, take this knowledge and use it to turn fear into faith.

Trust that God will see you through your situation. Trust that God has the answer you need and He will supply you with that answer.

Trust that God is bigger than any obstacle you’re facing, and that with His strength and with faith in Him, you can overcome those obstacles and be victorious in your life.

It’s time to stop shrinking back and letting fear drive us. It’s time, instead, to put God in the driver’s seat and let Him lead, and for us to follow His leading.

You can do this, with God’s help. Let faith rise up inside of you and push fear out of your life once and for all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-11-15

Psalm 31:2 (NKJV) 2 Bow down Your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be my rock of refuge, A fortress of defense to save me.

We have a Savior and He gives us eternal life. He also is here to help us through our everyday struggles, but yet we have a hard time crying out to Him and letting Him be that rock of refuge.

He is not done with us after we receive Him as our Savior. He is just beginning to work in our lives, if we let Him. We don’t have to walk through anything that this life dishes out to us ALONE!. We don’t have to do all the fixing up ourselves.

For instance, something people may be struggling with on their own is grieving. How do we get past it, to where we can continue living and actually feel joy again?

Or another thing we struggle with is when someone we love, or a close friend, hurts us badly. We may suffer from anger and bitterness because of it. How do we forgive that person and move forward, making new friends, still loving the old one, and without having bad feelings toward that person?

These are a few things that are impossible for us to do on our own. We can make the choice to forgive and so forth, but we need to cry out to Christ to help us in knowing how. It is the only way we will make it through, by letting Him save us from these things.

We wonder why we are tired and we can’t seem to get ahead on this journey. It’s time to give it up and stop trying to do it on our own.

We didn’t say to give up, but to give IT up, and let God SAVE us from it. Let Him help us. We need His strength and His power to get past it all.

Psalm 68:35 (NKJV) 35 O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places. The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!

Take a few minutes today and ponder on the things that keep causing us to get worn out, tired and stressed, and give them to God so that He may fix them.

He has a way of showing us what to do, and it WORKS!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-10-15

Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Nowadays, everything is done by intellect, human knowledge and understanding.

Intellectuals will have a very hard time believing that there is such a thing as the devil, demons or evil spirits. They will try to explain it away with something that makes sense to their heads.

Everything these days seems to have to have a name. Demonic oppression has been replaced by hundreds of different kinds of disorders, which all have names, and which get treated with various kinds of prescription drugs.

Evil deeds are blamed on a person’s childhood, or something traumatic that may have happened to them, instead of admitting that evil has influenced a person’s mind and impaired their judgement.

Nobody wants to admit that evil exists, therefore, nobody ever tries to eliminate evil or deal with things on a spiritual level. And this causes evil to win way too many battles.

It’s time for the church, the children of God, to call evil what it is and stop falling for the nonsense that the world is feeding us. Yes, there are some psychological disorders that are real. But much of what is being passed off as a disorder of some kind is nothing more than demonic spirits wreaking havoc with a person’s mind.

So until the world sees evil for what it is, and treats it as such, evil will continue to prevail in so many areas of people’s lives, and in society in general.

It’s time for us to call it what it is and then treat it properly, with the blood and the name of Jesus. Only the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus will prevail over evil.

But we can only prevail over evil if we recognize it as evil and call it as such.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-9-15

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Have you ever doubted God?

I don’t mean that maybe you doubted something that you asked God to do. I mean, have you ever doubted that He exists?

The enemy of our soul will try to get in our heads and convince us that everything we believe is a lie. He will try to get us to doubt our faith and he’ll tell us that everything we do in the name of Christ is a waste of time.

But let me tell you something. Don’t believe it for one second. Not even for a fraction of a second!

If God didn’t exist, the devil wouldn’t be spending his time trying to convince you of it.

Every once in a while the enemy will try to mess with my head. He’ll try to get me to doubt my faith, even for a tiny bit of a second.

But I’m just as quick to tell him to shut his pie hole and leave, in the name of Jesus.

You see, I’ve seen way too much to ever doubt God. I’ve seen things He’s done in the lives of others. I’ve seen him heal my body from asthma, after having it for 30 years. I’ve seen Him deliver people from demonic oppression. And I’ve seen so much more.

God has made it hard for me to doubt Him and easy to have faith in Him and trust Him with everything about my life.

I know that’s not necessarily the case for others. I know that sometimes life can hit you hard, right between the eyes. And while you’re still trying to recover from that blow, you get hit from behind and it feels like you can’t breathe.

But no matter what comes your way, don’t ever let the enemy cause you to doubt God. He is life. Without Him there is nothing. He is our source for everything we need.

So when he whispers in your ear and tells you that God doesn’t exist, or that God is a liar, get right back in his face and tell him he’s wasting his time.

And then rebuke him in the name of Jesus and command him to leave you alone.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-7-15

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

It was many years ago that my brother lost his 4 year old beautiful little princess. She fell out of the car while driving down the road and as he held her in his arms in the middle of the road, her last word was “Daddy”.

She could breathe while he held her in his arms, but as soon as he had to lay her down for the paramedics to take her, her lungs filled up with blood and she died almost instantly.

Arriving at the hospital, where they had taken her body, I will never forget what I saw. The precious little body of my niece soiled in blood. It was the coldest, darkest day I have known.

We may think “how can anyone continue on with their life after that?”. How can we even imagine life anymore after losing someone we love so dearly? Someone that meant the world to us.

You see. with men some things that happen in this life are just unbearable, too hard, and impossible for us to get through on our own.

God knows this. He feels our pain today. He gave us this verse because He knows our frailty, or fragileness, for He created us and He gave us this verse to help us.

Don’t try to live this life alone; we need HIM!!

Give yourself and your situation to Him today. With Him, we will make it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-6-15

Hosea 6:1 (NKJV) 1 Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.

A father or mother will discipline their child if they see them doing wrong. With love comes discipline, because we don’t want to see them get hurt.

When things aren’t going right for us at times, it’s not always the devil attacking us. Sometimes it’s God Himself dealing with us and trying to get our attention.

In this verse it shows that He, God, has torn and stricken them. God dealt with them in His own way. But, it also says that if they return to Him, repent and get back on the right track, He will HEAL!

If this is happening to you today, maybe it’s time to take a good look at the situation. Ask God what needs to be changed up.

Maybe we are living a double life, good in church and bad outside of church?

Maybe we are playing the field, so to speak. In other words, God’s not our first love. Other things come before Him and above Him. Money, sex, work or family?

God looks at the heart and He will surely get our attention. It’s up to us to take the time to put two and two together and make the changes so that we can be healed and move forward in our relationship with Him, and in everything else He has for us.

Love in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-5-15

2 Peter 3:8-9 (NKJV) 8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise…

How many of us have waited for God to deliver us from a situation that we thought was never going to end? Or how about situations that we had no idea were going to happen to us, but when they did, it seemed like we were walking through the fires of hell itself?

We all go through trials and tough times. And every single one of us, when these things are happening, wishes that they would end quickly. Sometimes we may even question God and wonder why He doesn’t swoop down and rescue us from our trials.

But here’s the thing. God doesn’t think the way we think. We think with finite, limited minds. God thinks with infinite wisdom and understanding. He knows the solutions to our problems before we even know we have a problem.

The problem isn’t with God and His unwillingness to help us. The problem is with us not hearing Him properly or following His leading. Sometimes… most times, we just plain miss it. God is always there with an answer or solution, but it usually takes us time to get to the point where we will hear what He says and then do it.

God always comes through. Always. It’s just not always the way we think He should come through, or in the timing that we think is correct.

So have patience, and most importantly, let’s listen for the voice of God and obey it. Once we do this, it will be surprising how fast things can turn around for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-4-15

Matthew 6:21 (NKJV) 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Have you ever wondered where your relationship with God is really at?

Sometimes we question where we’re at with God and we don’t know for sure where we’re at in our walk with Him.

The best way to tell where we’re really at is to take a look at what we think about and talk about the most. What things mean the most to us? What puts a smile on our face when we think about it? What gets us excited when we talk about it to others?

These things that excite us are where our treasure is. So if our hobby excites us but God doesn’t, then we need to check our priorities.

If shopping for new clothes excites us, but spending time with God doesn’t, then we need to check our priorities.

If buying a new power tool or a new accessory for our car excites us, but sowing finances into the kingdom of God doesn’t, then we need to check our priorities.

These are not easy things to teach about. People tend to get offended when their hobbies or their finances are involved. But if we are to ever grow as believers and truly put God first, we need to let God touch these areas of our lives.

So, today, let’s take a serious look at where we’re at and let’s ask God to show us where our heart really is. And then let’s give Him permission to make the adjustments that are needed!
