Bible Verse of The Day – 6-8-17

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

God rewards those who diligently seek Him. This is something that we all need to understand. But we need to make sure we look at it with the correct perspective.

Many times we can get caught up in the rewards and spend our time seeking after them. But in reality, we need to seek after Him, and not worry about the rewards.

The rewards will come when we put Him first and put our time and energy into seeking Him and growing our relationship with Him first, before everything else.

Because we live in a materialistic world, many have gotten off the path and spent their time focusing on what we get if we follow after God. This is not at all what God intended. Yes, the rewards are good. But the close relationship with Him is so much better.

And if we’re seeking after Him solely for the rewards, then we’ve got things a bit mixed up. And seeking rewards will cause our relationship with Him to become twisted and performance-based. Again, this is not what God intended.

So we need to be sure that we are seeking God solely because we want to have a strong walk with Him, not for any other reason.

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Seek Him first. The rewards will take care of themselves.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-7-17

John 9:6 (NKJV) 6 When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.

Jesus took His saliva and mixed it with the dirt and made clay. He then put it on the eyes of the blind man.

The blind man needed to do something before his miracle would come. He needed to obey the voice of Jesus. Until He took the step that Jesus told Him to take, he was still blind with mud on his eyes.

What step did the blind man need to take before he could see?

John 9:7 (NKJV) 7 And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

He had to go and wash in the pool.

The blind man went and did what Jesus told Him to do and came back seeing. He didn’t see before that. He didn’t see on the way there, but after he went and did what he was told, he could see.

How many of us today are standing around with mud still in our eyes because we never made it to the pool? We got half way there and said, ” I don’t know, this it too hard” and we’re just walking around with an incomplete victory or miracle. We need to finish the steps so that we can receive a miracle or victory.

We know what we need to do, so what are we waiting for? Do we want what Jesus already wants for us? Healing, deliverance, salvation, financial breakthrough, growing business or ministry, restored marriage or family, etc. Or are we waiting on Him to take our steps for us?

He didn’t do it for the blind man, and He will not do it for us. There are steps that only we can take.

Maybe we need to take a step in giving. Maybe it’s a step in saying no to people that pull on us. Or it could be a step of saying yes to something that we have never done before. Maybe it is a change in the way we carry ourselves, our language, our attitude, etc. Follow the Holy Spirit’s promptings and take the step.

Our prayers are with you!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-6-17

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

True freedom can only be found in one source; Jesus Christ.

If you have put your faith and trust in Jesus, you are free. Period. You can’t get anymore free than to be a child of the King and a joint heir with Christ!

The enemy will try to convince us that we are still in chains, bound by our sins, past and present. But the truth is that Jesus breaks the chains, once and for all.

So if we’re feeling condemned, stuck, bound, discouraged, or any other things that might try to keep us from moving forward with God, we need to remember Who it is that we are placing our faith and hope in.

He died for all of us, and His completed work is all we need to overcome death, hell and the grave, now and for eternity.

Romans 6:10 (NKJV) 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

So lift your head. Look to heaven and thank Him for all He has done and all He is still going to do for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-5-17

1 Samuel 16:7 (NKJV) 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

God looks at our heart. This can be a life-changing revelation for so many people.

We tend to look at ourselves and others and judge by what we see. It’s a natural thing to do, since we can’t see the heart of a person unless we spend time with them and get to know them.

God chose David to be king over His people. Why? Because He knew David’s heart was set on pleasing Him. The Word says that David was a man after God’s own heart!

He could have chosen someone greater in stature. But stature doesn’t matter to God. Stature is just a physical attribute. It doesn’t make us who we are. Our heart and what’s in it makes us who we are.

What’s in our heart? When God looks at us, what does He see?

Does He see a heart that longs after Him? Or does He see a heart that is divided in its loyalties?

Only we can determine what our heart contains. Only we can decide where our loyalties lie.

Let us determine in our hearts to seek after God with everything in us. Then we will know without a doubt what God sees when He looks at our heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – Hype vs. Faith – 6-4-17

Have you ever heard a message that was based on hype? Have you ever made a decision and then asked yourself “what did I just do”?

Hype can be very dangerous for us if we don’t recognize it and learn how to avoid it.

We just recorded a new video on this topic and we’d like you to watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Hype will cause us to make choices that we almost instantly regret. Faith will give us God’s peace as we follow His leading.

Please click here to watch the video now.

So it’s important that we walk in faith and move based on God’s leading, not based on pressure or manipulation.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day and stay close to God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-3-17

Ecclesiastes 3:7 (NKJV) 7 A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;

Sometimes people have a hard time with this one. Some people just like to talk, but rarely ever listen.

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone where you couldn’t get a word in edgewise, no matter how hard you try? This can be pretty frustrating for the person who is stuck just listening to the other person talk and talk and talk.

What’s worse, though, is that this kind of thing can be dangerous for the person who never stops talking long enough to listen.

First, it will cause people not to want to be around them or talk to them very often. But most dangerous is the fact that people who always want to talk and never want to listen also rarely ever learn anything. They’re so busy talking that they miss it when people try to share important things with them.

Do we know anyone like this? Do we struggle to complete a sentence when we’re talking with this person? Do we constantly get cut off when we try to speak?

Or are we one of those people? Do we constantly walk all over people when they try to talk with us?

It’s something we need to be careful of. Sometimes it’s completely unintentional, maybe because we’re excited about something and want to share it with others. But many times it’s due to being inconsiderate or self-centered.

That doesn’t mean that it’s done purposely. But something that we need to be made aware of.

And it’s never too late for any of us to learn, no matter what age we are.

So let’s be kind, courteous and considerate and remember that there is a time to speak and a time to keep silent.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-2-17

Romans 8:1 (NKJV) 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Oh that lovely flesh. It sure does like to get in the way of God’s will for us.

When the Spirit of God speaks, know that the flesh will almost always try to get us to do the opposite, even when we know deep down what the right thing is.

We spend a lot of time fighting the lust of the flesh, because the flesh is unruly and wants what it wants. That battle can cause us to get tired and want to give in at times.

Romans 13:14 (NKJV) 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

Don’t let it win. Learning how to acknowledge when the flesh is trying to rule over the decisions the Spirit of God has for us takes work, time and effort. But it is well worth every bit of it.

How do we know when the flesh is going against God’s will for us? There is usually an irritation that comes. We will feel confused and have a lack of peace within us. At that point we need to be seeking God and asking Him “what’s happening?”. Get in His word. Pray, and listen. Then take the steps He shows us, in faith.

When we walk according to the Spirit of God there is peace no matter what is going on around us.

Psalm 143:10 (NKJV) 10 Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-17

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

We don’t walk by sight.

I had this conversation the other day with someone that was feeling very discouraged. The situation they were facing had loss written all over it.

How do we stay encouraged as believers and keep going when our situation is discouraging, and when everything we hear and see about it is not good and we are feeling scared?

This is when we buckle down and let our faith in God rise above all our feelings and thoughts. We rise above all that we can see and hear and just stay silent, trusting that God has the answer. And know that whatever it may be is going to be good.

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “…assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Faith will help us through!
