Bible Verse of The Day – 1-20-19 – Provision During Your Famine – Part 1

Please click to watch the video.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Famine. It’s a word that none of us likes to hear. But almost everyone goes through at least one major season of famine in their lifetime.

God wants to provide for us during our famine. How does He do that? And what can we do to prepare for a famine before it actually hits?

These are the things that we talk about today in our newest video, Provision During Your Famine – Part 1.

We share a lot of solid Biblical information, as well as some testimonies of how God has brought us through our own famine in past years.

We know that a lot of people will learn valuable lessons from this, so we hope you’ll take the time to watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Stay close to Him in all you do.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-19-19

Isaiah 50:7 (NKJV) 7 “For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

Just talk alone doesn’t do much for us. We will be forever talking about the same things over and over again if we don’t take action and do something.

How many times do we hear ourselves or someone else say they are going to do this or do that, and many years later they are still in the same situation, saying the same thing?

Most times it is because the action that needed to be taken went no further than conversation. When we just talk about something, it stays right there. It doesn’t go any further. Unless we put those thoughts and creativity to the test, we are stagnant.

Is there something we need to step out into and take action on today? Have we talked about it until we are blue in the face? Is God prompting us to do something now?

Sitting back and talking about it is not going to do a thing. It’s time to take action and get God involved.

How do we move forward with these plans? We pray, asking God for His help and His guidance. We ask Him to open doors that we need to have opened for us, and for His favor to go before us.

Then we start to move toward the plans accordingly, one step at a time.

When we let God get involved, He will help us see things through to completion, as long as what it is we are doing, or want to do, is good for us.

He enjoys going through each step with us. He will help us over the hurdles and bring us through the valleys. He’ll give us strength or carry us over the mountain tops. He will do what it takes to help us.

If God is for it and it’s what He wants, we have no reason to stress or worry about anything.

When we set our face like a flint towards what God wants for us, nothing can stop us. If we let Him, He will see to it that things go right.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-18-19

1 Corinthians 14:1 (NKJV) 1 Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

How do we pursue love? Just like anything we want in life, we go after the One who holds the goods.

In this case it’s Jesus. He is our example of the greatest love ever to exist.

When we put our faith in Him as our Lord and Savior, and we open up our hearts to Him, that seed of His love gets planted in our hearts. And just like any other seed, if we don’t care for it and water it, it won’t grow.

This kind of love only grows with proper watering through the word of God. His truth, His discipline, and His teachings will cause this seed to flourish and produce beautiful fruit.

As we learn who He is and how He responded to certain situations, we take what we have learned and then follow in His foot steps. As we do this, we begin to build that same love in us.

We learn how to act out of righteousness, instead of reacting out of our own understanding and our flesh.

How does this love get stronger? We take what He teaches us and we put it into action.

How does it become part of our everyday walk? We live it, we breathe it and walk it out. Not from our heads, but straight from our hearts.

Walking in this Love will grip the hearts of people around us. It is the difference that people will notice in us, showing that we have changed and we belong to God.

John 13:35 (NKJV) 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-17-19

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

We all struggle with sin on varying levels. Each day we face different kinds of temptations that attempt to lead us from the path that God has set before us.

Do we stray, or do we stay steadfast on God’s path?

It’s safe to say that we all disappoint God and ourselves sometimes, as we make the wrong choice and fall to those temptations. It’s not what we want to do, but we do it anyway.

So, how do we fix this? How do we stop falling into the trap of sin?

God’s word. That’s how!

God’s word is the key to avoiding temptation and giving in to temptation. We need to “hide” God’s word in our hearts. Why? Because hiding it in our hearts keeps us closer to God.

As we store His word in our hearts, it gives us a “well” to draw from. And when we are in need of something, the Holy Spirit will remind us of the things we have read in God’s word. Those little reminders will help steer us away from sin.

But if we fail to “fill our well”, we will never have anything to quench our thirst when we need it! There will be no words there to be reminded of, and it will make it easier for us to fall into sin when we are tempted.

Hiding God’s word in our hearts also gives us heightened discernment. As God’s spirit prompts us about different things, we are more apt to hear Him and give heed to what He says. This will also help keep us from falling when temptation comes our way.

While this might seem oversimplified, it’s a basic truth that we can’t overlook. Doing so will be detrimental to our spiritual health and wellbeing, and will cost us dearly over our lifetime.

Hide His word in our hearts, that we might not sin against Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-16-19

Genesis 2:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Being one is something all couples need to work at. We need to be in unity. We need to be on the same page.

If two people who are together are thinking or operating on a separate page, they are off. In other words, they don’t see eye to eye on things.

When we don’t agree on something, we shouldn’t just give up. We don’t just throw in the towel. We don’t start putting the other person down, or discrediting them around others. We don’t disrespect them just because we don’t agree on something.

What do we do then? We work that much harder to get on the same page.

Have we ever noticed when we are not together on something what kind of fruit it produces? There is anger, hurt feelings and disappointment.

When we separate from each other like this, it affects our whole relationship.

Being together in unity, being joined as one in everything is vital in a relationship.

This does not mean we will not have differences of opinion. It simply means that when we do, we need to work that much harder at coming together regarding whatever the difference may be. We need to work it out and learn from each other. We need to help each other.

Don’t run from it. Put the time and effort aside and work together in making it what it needs to be.

Ask God for help in your marriage/relationship. Ask Him to help you stay in unity with each other, with Him as the Head of your relationship.

Be sure to put the time aside and make every effort to work things out. Take it very seriously.

Your relationship is worth everything. Be sure to treat it that way.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-15-19

Psalm 34:10 (NKJV) 10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

Are we hungry today? Are we looking for answers? Are we suffering from things that keep on attacking us, physically and mentally?

This is not uncommon. People all around us are suffering from one thing or another.

Some need a sound mind. They’re wrestling with a busy and anxious mind. Some are struggling to keep their bills paid and food on the table for their family. And some are addicted to things that aren’t good for them.

As we seek after the Lord, we shall not lack. Things will change and get better for us.

No matter what we suffer with, don’t ever feel like we cannot approach Him. He has come for those who need help. He understands us and what our situation needs to get past the problems that we face every day.

The Lord will give us peace and help us overcome the things that torment us.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to You today and ask for help. I can’ t bear to go through another day of torment, another day of shedding tears because of my problems. I need You. Forgive me, Lord, for contributing to these problems. Show me how to turn things around. Your word tells me that You have overcome the world and all its issues. Please help me to overcome mine.

Give me strength today to stand up and fight, not by my own strength, but through the wisdom You offer, that I may win this battle once and for all.

In the precious name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Our prayers are with you all that are fighting a battle. God will see you through it as you take the steps He has for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-14-19

1 Corinthians 9:25 (NKJV) 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

We are running in a race. And in doing so, we are competing for a prize.

When athletes compete, they are “temperate”. This means that they are self-controlled and very disciplined in making sure that they are in the best possible condition so they stand a better chance of winning whatever sport it is that they compete in.

They do this by eating properly, getting the right amount of rest and performing specific exercises each day to build themselves up and maintain what they have worked hard to attain.

Now, if athletes do this in order to compete for a prize that’s temporal, how much more should we, the children of God, also be “temperate”, self-controlled and disciplined, since we are pursuing a prize that’s eternal?

Here are some other words that will help us better understand “temperate” as Paul used it in the verse above: self-restrained, moderate, controlled, disciplined, and get this one; self-denying.

Kind of makes you think, doesn’t it?

How often can we say that we practice self-denial?

Jesus did this on a regular basis. Remember, He said He came to serve, not to be served.

Mark 10:45 (NKJV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

And if it’s good enough for Jesus, it’s good enough for you and for me.

The athletes that competed in Paul’s day were given a wreath that literally withered away within a day or two. The incentive for us is in remembering that we don’t work for a prize that lasts only a short time.

We run toward the goal in pursuit of a prize that’s above all other prizes; eternity with our loving, merciful, holy God.

Our discipline should be with reading and studying His word, treating others properly, honoring and loving God, being a light to others, sharing God’s love with those we come in contact with, etc.

Temperate, self-restrained, moderate, controlled, disciplined, and self-denying.

Hebrews 12:1 (NKJV) 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-12-19

1 Peter 2:4 (NKJV) 4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious…

Being rejected by the people around us can leave scars. This is something we can’t pretend didn’t happen.

The fear of rejection likes to keep its grip on us. And it can surely be strong enough to hold us down, keep us back and on a road of defeat time after time.

The fear of rejection sits quietly within most of us. And it won’t usually rise up until that moment when we need to step out and do the unexpected, take a plunge or do something different that God is impressing on us to do.

When that happens, we won’t do it. We will wrestle within ourselves over the, “what ifs”, until the opportunity passes by. And then we will be disappointed once again for not doing what we knew we should have done.

Why?

Many times it’s because of the fear left in us from the memory of being rejected, being laughed at, picked on and made to look like a fool. Rejection can hurt us and cripple us.

Will we let God take this from us today and begin healing? Until we reach that point where we feel enough is enough, it will continue to control us and stop us in our tracks.

God is speaking to people today that have reached that point. If you are done with feeling like this, it’s time to do something about it.

We are praying with you for deliverance. The grip has to go. Man may have rejected you, but God has not.

Dear Lord, God Almighty,

You have chosen me today to do things, but I have not stepped out or obeyed you because I have been afraid of what might happen to me at the hand of man. I am sorry and I ask for Your forgiveness. Today, I realize I have been held back because of feeling this way and I want Your help to be delivered. I need to heal.

I want to be free from feeling like this way, Lord. Take this fear of rejection from me and deliver me from it. I want to be used by You and not be afraid to make a move because of what man may say or do. Thank you.

In Jesus’ name I ask. Amen.

We love you and we know that God is going to do a mighty work through you. Rest in Him and have a great day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-11-19

Psalm 24:10 (NKJV) 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

Sometimes it’s important to simply sit and contemplate God and who He is.

Our human minds can never completely comprehend Him and His ways, but when we ponder on Him it helps us to learn to revere Him and love Him even more than we do already.

There are many ways to learn to revere Him, but one of the best ways is to take notice of everything around us. God’s creation is one of the best examples of His workmanship. It’s raw and beautiful, and we can take it in without it being run through some of the filters that the world tells us we have to use when we look at ourselves.

You know. The man-made standards that we tend to apply to ourselves when we see ourselves in the mirror that make us think about who we’d rather be, instead of who God has made us to be.

God doesn’t need Photoshop to make His creation look beautiful. It already is beautiful and breathtaking. It speaks volumes about His majesty and His glory.

And even though we humans are full of flaws when it comes to our behavior, the wonders of the human body far outweigh our selfish, terrible actions if we can find it in ourselves to look past all of the ugliness in the things we say and do at times.

Sit. Kneel. Lay on your face. It doesn’t matter how we do it. The important thing is that we do it; we take time to recognize the King of glory and give Him the love and reverence due Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-10-19

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Being thankful for what we have is something to keep at the forefront of our hearts and minds.

Sometimes it can be very easy to forget the hardships that God has brought us through. The sting we felt and tears we shed fade away into the past.

How about the heartache and fear that was so heavy at night when we laid awake in bed, trying to figure it all out? Have they just slowly become a distant memory?

It can be easy sometimes to forget how God, in His omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent way, came through and helped us come through it all.

Time goes by and we forget. The stress we once felt subsides. The tears turn to joy, the heartache heals and the fear, if we’re not careful, can turn into pride.

After all God brought us through, and our situation is behind us, remember Who set us free. Remember Who brought us out of our hardship, our situation. And don’t forget to remain in Him, and stay thankful for all that He will continue to help us with every day for as long as we live.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Amen.
