Bible Verse of The Day – 6-19-21

Psalm 63:3 (NKJV) 3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.

Everyone loves life. We enjoy living.

But God’s kindness is better than what we love so much. His kindness is better than life itself.

What does this mean?

Take for instance, if I said to you, “explain to me what life is to you”.

You may say, “well, life is just life. It’s everything we see, touch and feel. Life is breathing. Life is working and playing sports. Life is being married to the most wonderful spouse and having beautiful children together. Life is friends and relatives. Life is being able to be kind and help others, etc.”.

Now, take all of those things that we look at as life to us and know that God’s lovingkindness is even better than all the wonderful feelings we get from these lifelong experiences.

It’s simply better!!

Oh, hallelujah shall we praise YOU Lord God with our lips! Thank you for your lovingkindness, for without YOU we can do nothing. You are our life!!

John 15:5 (NJKV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-18-21

Romans 6:17-18 (NKJV) 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

As we walk through our lives, we will ultimately be slaves to one of two things; sin or righteousness.

There is no middle ground.

We were all slaves to sin the moment we were born. We didn’t know that, because we were spiritually dead. But it’s a true fact verified by God’s word.

At some point in our past, we became aware of our sinfulness and decided to surrender ourselves to God and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, having our past sins forgiven; washed clean.

When that happens, we start fresh. Our slate has been wiped clean.

Then, we choose moment by moment what we will do. Sometimes our choices are good. Sometimes they’re not so good.

As we mature, hopefully the number of not-so-good choices declines, and the number of good choices increases. This is a sign of surrendering to God and outward proof that we are becoming a slave to righteousness.

Some of us might take longer. We mature more slowly. But we eventually “get there”.

Others may never truly surrender to God’s leading, and will live on as slaves to their sin.

To those, today I urge you in love to consider your condition. Consider first the price that was paid by Jesus for your redemption. It cost Him everything. And He gave it willingly, for you and for me.

Also consider the price you’re paying in the choices that you make each day, minute by minute. And consider the effects that these choices have on those around us.

Who and what do we love more; our sin, or the God who created us and the Son who died for those very sins that we enslave ourselves to?

Lay them down today. Surrender to Him. Give those sins to Him and let Him break the chains of slavery that hold you.

It’s never too late. And there is no sin too big for God to handle.

Today is your day. This is your moment.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-17-21

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

The question here is, “Why?”.

Why do we have to confess our trespasses, sins or offenses to one another? Why don’t we just confess them to God?

There are times when we do just tell Him, and that’s enough. But there are also times when we need to confess to others.

Confession is a big deal.

Talking about what we’ve done or are doing, and acknowledging it for what it is, will help get the deliverance and healing we need.

Sometimes we are afraid to tell anyone about what we’ve done. But keeping silent and hiding it can be harder than just saying it. Don’t be afraid. Talk about it and get it out. Stop trying to live a life like everything is OK.

It’s not OK, and we need to be real so we can be healed.

Why aren’t we sharing the things we need to share with one another?

Are we more concerned about what people might think about us?

A true brother or sister in Christ will love, not look down their nose at anyone. A true brother or sister knows no one is perfect, no matter who they are.

Don’t let fear stop us and keep us from opening up.

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Who is the righteous man that prays? Is it the man that never did anything wrong and thus he is perfect and can pray for us?

No. It’s the man/woman that has been saved by grace, just like us. The man that needs prayer as well at times, because he too fails sometimes.

The man is not called righteous because of anything he has done, but what the blood of Jesus has done for him/her.

The righteous man is the man with a sincere heart that longs to love God, obey the best he can, and confess and repent as well.

So, church, let us start confessing, so that we can receive our healing and the bride (all of us) can get up and get on her feet. We, the bride, need to be healed and to be able to walk in love. Stop running away. Start opening up and running to those whom God shows us, that we may confess and let them pray for us.

John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-21

Romans 14:5-6 (NKJV) 5 One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it…

This is a very intriguing verse that lays bare many things. It also says a lot that many may find a bit hard to take.

God, in His infinite wisdom, created each of us uniquely. We all have different strengths and weaknesses as we grow in Him.

He works with us to fix (correct) those weaknesses. But as He is doing so, He gives us grace, since we are works in progress.

In the verses above, Paul is addressing the fact that some Jewish believers still felt the need to observe the Sabbath, since it was part of their “previous life” with God.

It was hard for them to shake their traditions, since they still didn’t fully comprehend that Jesus had fulfilled the law, thereby releasing them from the requirements of the law.

Paul’s concern was that believers would scorn each other, or judge each other, based on whether they observed the Sabbath (or other holy days) or not.

He went on to explain that whether a person observes a specific holy day or not isn’t important. What’s important is honoring God in what we do every day.

So, if a person still felt convicted within themselves to observe the Sabbath, then by all means, do it.

But if a person (more than likely a gentile) felt no conviction to observe the Sabbath (or other holy days), then the Jew who still observed it had no business looking down at the person who didn’t observe it.

Likewise, the person who felt no conviction, and therefore didn’t observe it, had no business mocking or scorning the one who chose to observe it.

Each person had to follow their own convictions based on their level of maturity as a believer.

With that said, it’s important that we understand that God’s goal for us all is to reach a level of maturity where we understand His word enough to see that tradition is much less important than His desires for us to grow as a believer.

Once we do that, we will understand that He comes first in all things, and that doing things just because that’s the way we’ve always done them can sometimes put us at odds with what He wants us to do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-15-21

Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV) 22 Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Boy, are we blessed!!

Thank the Lord, for He has mercy and we are not consumed. We are not destroyed, although we deserve to be.

We are sinners saved by grace, and His mercy is new every morning.

Because of our fleshly desires, we need His mercy every day; each and every one of us.

No one is exempt. If someone claims to be, then they would be saying they are perfect. And that would be wrong.

There is no one perfect except the Son of God, Jesus Christ Himself; perfect, holy and pure.

Thank God for Him. Without Him we would not have a way out of the sinful fleshly desires we have all dabbled in at one time or another.

Great is His faithfulness!! He has given us mercy, and His compassion towards us has not failed. He loves us and gives us salvation if we simply accept His offer.

1 John 5:4-5 (NKJV) 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

We will overcome the world with our faith as we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and we put our faith in Him.

He will help us to rise above any situation that tries to take us out.

He will stand with us and direct us at times as to what to do and what to say. He is our Good Shepherd who gave His life for us! And He cares for us.

John 10:11 (NKJV) 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-21

Psalm 66:4 (NKJV) 4 All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah

This morning, as I was in our kitchen and I was making a hot drink, we had our back door open.

While I was preparing my Chai, I could hear what sounded like an absolute symphony of birds, singing like there was no tomorrow!

I stopped and listened, in awe at the incredible sounds they were making.

There was one bird in particular that was standing out above the rest. Not so much because it was that much louder, but because of the type of call it had. It was absolutely beautiful to hear.

As I listened, I thought to myself, “I wonder what’s got that bird so happy”.

I ran a few ideas through my imagination, as if birds have the capability to think and reason, surmising that it could be this or that.

And then it hit me. His song was praising God, the Creator of heaven and earth.

Now, the bird may not have known this, since they are not highly intelligent, but that’s what it was doing; giving God glory for His creation and His provision.

Every note that it sang glorified God. Every individual bird song that I could hear was singing praises to God.

What an incredible world we live in. Yes, there is evil at play in the world. But when we consider how it formed and Who made it, and if we see it for what it is, we can’t help but see God in it and give Him glory for it, just as those birds were doing.

Look up, and look around, people of God! Watch and listen.

God is everywhere!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-21 – Unlovable

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We all know someone who is hard to love. There can be many reasons for them being that way. Regardless of the reason, though, God has called us to love even those who are unlovable.

In our newest video, Unlovable, we teach on this topic and discuss this from a Biblical point of view.

This video is very short and informative. And it is something that we all need to hear and ponder on if we want to make sure we’re walking in God’s will for our lives, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes and watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-12-21

1 Chronicles 22:19 (NKJV) 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”

I think it’s important that we notice here it says to “set your heart and soul to seek the Lord”.

And here’s what’s important to understand; no one will do this for us. No one will take this step for us; we must be the ones to take the bull by the horns, so to speak, and do it for ourselves.

Our heart and soul will not do this on their own. We must take charge and set them, or put them in the right position.

When the heart is lined up, the soul will follow.

It’s something we all need to do; set our heart and soul to seek Him.

That is where we will find our answers, our peace, our healing, our provision.

As we obey Him, He will deliver. And we will eat the good of the land.

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV) 19 If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land…

God will not do this for us. As His children, it is up to us to take the time we need to get with Him. And that is how we will grow and move forward in the plan He has for us.

It won’t happen by us just spending time in church services. It won’t happen by just talking the talk. He wants individual, one-on-one time with us so we can make things right with Him.

And it’s up to us to set our hearts and soul to seek Him out.

Make the time. Stay close, and know what He is saying to us today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-11-21

Psalm 19:14 (NKJV) 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

This Psalm hits home with me. It’s like my heart’s cry in my daily walk with God; let the things I say and the intentions and actions of my heart be pleasing to You, my God and Redeemer.

When we walk with God, as we grow and mature, we will begin to place more value on things that used to mean little or nothing to us. And we will begin to place less value on things that used to mean a great deal to us.

There are many things I used to value greatly that mean little to me now.

Why?

Because God has rearranged my priorities. He changed the desires of my heart.

He has a way of doing that as we allow Him to touch us in our innermost places.

The principle established in this Psalm, of wanting to please God with all that we say and think, is what happens when God really gets hold of us.

David had a heart that was “after God”; wanted to please God in every possible way.

And when our heart reaches that point, we will also long for the very same thing that David expressed here.

The funny part is that we don’t intentionally set out to feel this in our hearts. We set out to walk with God and learn of Him, getting to know Him more, day by day.

But as we do that, and we submit to the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to prick our hearts, molding and shaping us, the end result will be just that; a heart that longs to please Him in everything we do.

We challenge you today to do that; pursue God with your whole heart. Pursue Him relentlessly, pushing aside the things that would try to hinder you and prevent you from pressing in to Him.

You will never regret it.

And if you’d like to learn more about pursuing Him relentlessly, feel free to check out this blog post we wrote a while back: Pursuing God Relentlessly.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-10-21

1 John 4:8-9 (NKJV) 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

He loves us all. As the song says, red, yellow, black and white.

We are all sinners, but yet He sent His Son to save us. We are precious in His sight.

If we cannot love, then we don’t truly know God. Because He is love, we too will love. Even in times when the average person cannot love, His Spirit in us will show love in such a way that it will blow people’s minds.

Friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, we are in the day where we need to show love like never before. But not a cuddling type of love. Rather a “stand for what is right” kind of love.

We need to be strong, and not back down from truth. And taking it one step further, we need to be sure we’re walking out what we preach.

Come on, church people! We must show the world who God is, and we can do this by loving through our actions. If we cannot love, we do not know God.

1 John 3:18 (NKJV) 18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Be the one today to show God’s love through doing something outside the everyday norm.

God gave us His best. Let us give our best effort in showing it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-9-21

Romans 2:28-29 (NKJV) 28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

At first glance, these two verses might seem a bit odd when you read them. The way they are worded may come across as being difficult to understand.

But once you look a little closer, they start to make perfect sense.

If we think of the word, “Jew”, as a believer or a Christian, we will begin to make some sense of it.

A person isn’t necessarily a Christian because they profess outwardly to be one. Our mouths can say many things. But that doesn’t make those things so.

What counts is what’s in our hearts.

Circumcision, as referred to here, is not something physical. It is a matter of the heart.

What is in our heart, and what we do are much more important than what we say.

Our actions speak much more loudly than our words.

Even more importantly, what’s in our hearts is more important than what we do or say.

For what is in our hearts will drive what we say and what we do.

It is when our hearts are right with God and, therefore, pure in motive, that we will begin to walk out the things that show that our faith is genuine and that our intentions are of Spirit-led origins.

This kind of faith is the only thing that will convince people that God is real, as they witness Him being portrayed in our everyday lives through actions that emulate His truth, love, grace and mercy.

Are we Christians only in name? Or does what’s in our heart, and carried out in our actions, portray Him in a way that reveals Him to those around us?
