Bible Verse of The Day – 11-19-21

Matthew 10:28 (NKJV) 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Sometimes the things or the people that we face can cause us to be fearful.

Circumstances can cause us to fear their outcome.

More commonly, though, people can cause us to fear them for what they can do.

Most times these fears are unfounded and unnecessary. But our minds can run away from us, letting fear dominate our thoughts.

Jesus told His disciples that we are not to fear those who can “kill the body”. It’s not our body that counts, but our soul.

You see, our bodies are simply the shell that we live in. Yes, we should value our lives enough to take care of our bodies and use them to bring honor and glory to God.

But we should never allow fear to cause us to avoid doing what God has called us to do.

Man may be able to destroy the body, but he can never destroy our soul.

God, however, is who we are accountable to. He has dominion over our souls. And it is to Him that we answer, here on earth, and for eternity.

This is not being written to be heavy or scary, but to bring truth and understanding to us so we don’t spend our lives fearing those who truly have no control over us, even if they may think they do or act like they do.

Fear God (in reverence), but do not fear man. It is not to man that we answer.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-18-21

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The first words in this verse say, “the word of God is living and powerful”. Amen!

His Word is alive and powerful.

We teach often on the importance of staying in the word of God. It is so important that we make this a priority because of the effect it has on us. It’s living and powerful! We all need this today.

The next thing it tells us is that the word is sharp, so it can cut through those very hard-as-stone places that we all have in us.

Finally, it also says that it is a discerner.

His word shows us who we really are. This is how the Word can help us, by keeping us accountable.

Who likes accountability?

The average person will not raise their hand for this. But a believer that has been through some things, and has come out the other side with the word of God, will raise their hand in a heartbeat.

Why?

Because they have grown and matured and they understand that the Word of God, and the accountability it brings, will bring freedom to us and a life that is far better than living it out on our own.

Romans 14:12 (NKJV) 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-17-21

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

As humans, many of us put a lot of emphasis on how we appear to others. We try to shape or present our lives to others in a way that gives a certain appearance.

This could be done in many ways; our physical appearance, our life as a whole, our material possessions, etc.

Social media has really caused this to become amplified over the last 10+ years.

But this is not how God wants us to live.

If we are to please anyone with our lives, it is God, our Father and Creator.

He has (or should have) absolute eminence in our lives. All that we do should be to please Him and shine His light out onto the world around us.

We can’t live our lives for appearance’ sake. Doing so causes us to waste our efforts and throw away years of our lives for the sake of impressing others and assuaging our insecurities, stroking our ego and pride along the way.

Let’s focus on Him. Let’s put Him first in every aspect of our lives.

And let’s make our lives as living sacrifices, presenting our bodies, holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-21

Luke 1:34 (NKJV) 34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”

In verse 31 of this chapter, an angel came to Mary and told her that she would conceive in her womb and bring forth a Son, and His name would be Jesus.

How can this be?

Notice that Mary did not ask if this could be. She wanted to know how, expressing her concerns based on her current situation. How can this be, seeing that I have not been with a man?

Her intellect was trying to understand all of this. She believed God could do it. She was just curious as to how.

Luke 1:38 (NKJV) 38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

There will be things in life that we will not necessarily understand how they can happen if we look at them based on our own understanding.

But God is able to do above and beyond all that we know!

Maybe we are in a certain season right now, and we feel completely lost and don’t know how things are going to turn around.

Remember this one verse; “Let it be according to your word”!

God knows how and when to carry out His plans in our lives. We just have to make sure we don’t get stuck in the uncertainties.

If we can learn to do this, we will watch it be birthed. A miracle is easy for Him!

Make sure that we don’t get stuck in the “how can it be?”.

It’s OK to ask. But be sure to trust God to do whatever it is He is showing us. Then we need to continue to take the necessary steps to get there, or keep on believing Him even if we don’t see any steps in front of us to take.

Have faith. If Mary did not believe in what the angel spoke to her on that day, she would not have been the one to give birth to our savior.

If God is saying something to us, and we don’t quite understand how it can be, don’t doubt Him. Ask Him to give you the understanding, and let Him do it His way and in His timing. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-15-21

John 13:9 (NKJV) 9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”

As Jesus was spending His last hours with the disciples, He shocked them by washing their feet. This is something that only servants did during that time period.

The fact that their Master would lower Himself to wash their feet was beyond their comprehension.

What’s more, though, is that Peter flat out refused to let Jesus do so. He didn’t feel worthy to have Jesus perform such a seemingly menial task on his behalf.

When Peter refused, Jesus rebuked him, telling Peter that if he wouldn’t allow Jesus to wash his feet, then he couldn’t have any part with Him.

At that, Peter proclaimed, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”.

And so it should be with you and I.

Not that Jesus is standing in front of us offering to wash our feet, but that we would allow Jesus to “wash” our whole selves, cleansing us and making us vessels that are worthy of His name, by the power of His Spirit and through our complete submission to Him.

This is the only way we will ever fully develop our relationship with Him, allowing us to grow into mature believers who serve God wholeheartedly, shining His light brightly to bring glory and honor to Him.

Jesus, wash all of me.

My Bible Verse of The Day – 11-14-21 – Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus!

Our bodies are a wonderful creation of our Father. He formed Adam from the dirt and then formed Eve from Adam.

The way our body functions is an absolute miracle, bringing glory and honor to God with every breath we take.

In today’s video, Fearfully and Wonderfully Made, we teach on the wonder of how we were created.

This video helps us to remember Who created us and not to take that creation for granted. We do hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-21

1 Kings 19:12 (NKJV) 12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

Is our breathing tight today? Have we lost sleep over things that are constantly on our minds?

Do we feel like our hands are tied?

That’s probably because they are.

There are times when there isn’t anything we can do about certain things. And our mind will not like it at all. It will wrestle with us and exhaust us to the point of doubting that God is even there.

But the thing we must continue to do is stay focused. Be content in Him even when we don’t know what’s ahead.

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Don’t give in to negative thoughts and talk. Know that God will never forsake us.

Stay the course, and breath throughout the journey.

He is there with us every step of the way. His voice may be still and small, but He is there and He will let us know if we need to do something on our end.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-21

2 Timothy 4:3 (NKJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

We need to be careful. Not everything that we hear is what it may seem to be.

Some things that are presented as truth are really just lies wrapped in tiny tidbits of truth to lend credibility to them.

This is true even within the church. Paul clearly warned us about this in the verse above.

As human beings, we can sometimes be persuaded to believe something that isn’t true, even if we might initially believe it to be a lie.

Why? Because it sounds good.

I know someone personally who heard a specific teacher make a statement, and his first thought was, “you’re a liar”.

But he continued to listen to this same teacher, and over time he began to believe the lie and eventually adopted it and accepted it as truth.

This is very dangerous for us.

God’s word is always our measuring stick. We need to be diligent to compare everything we hear to His word. If it lines up, it’s truth. If it doesn’t, it’s a lie. It’s very plain and simple overall.

So, let’s be careful not to be those who Paul warned about in the verse above, with itching ears to hear the things that sound good or make us feel good.

These are perilous times we’re living in, so we need to be sure we are arming ourselves with the truth of God’s word, not the lies of man and the enemy of our souls.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-11-21

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Sometimes we may feel like we need to do something, and it isn’t something we ever thought we would do.

Maybe, for instance, we feel like we’re supposed to move to a new area. Or maybe we feel prompted to leave a certain job.

Maybe we even feel led to tell someone something that is hard to say, and we don’t want to be the one in that position.

Most times when we are feeling like this, it is God leading our spirit. But our mind is saying, “what? Why did I just do that? I don’t get it. That’s not what I ever thought I’d do”.

It is often because God is leading our actions. And He will bring understanding as we follow. He will make the picture clear if we move with Him and trust that He will guide us all the way through.

We can’t be stuck in our ways. Sometimes He does ask us to do something we’d never think of doing. That’s why we need Him; to accomplish those things that are out of our comfort zone!

He will take us down roads that will blow our minds if we trust Him with all our heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-10-21

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

Seasons of our lives come and go. We teach about this often.

Some seasons seem fantastic. Life feels effortless. Everything seems to be just right. And we enjoy it immensely.

Other seasons are difficult and it can be hard to make sense of them. Our emotions have us on a roller-coaster. Up one day, and down the next.

Most seasons like this will challenge us in many ways.

They will test our faith and our trust in God. They can cause us to become more introspective, examining our heart to check our standing in our relationship with Christ.

Most of all, they will test our character. They will show us (and others) who we really are.

That can be a bit scary, as we are forced to face ourselves.

But we don’t have to be afraid. We just need to be sure that our faith is anchored in God, not in the circumstances of our life.

As we learn to do that, those seemingly scary seasons become less and less scary, and more like learning sessions that strengthen us for the next trial that we face.

Romans 5:3-4 (NKJV) 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-21

Philippians 4:4 (NKJV) 4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Today is the day that the Lord has made!

Have we lost our focus? Are we busy, busy and all caught up in our schedule? Did we somehow get lost in the shuffle?

Well, today is a good day to get back on track.

It happens to us all. We just don’t stop long enough to see it. But we must pull away and find that place where we can rest in Him.

Shut down our mind and let our spirit man love on God and be grateful for all He does.

Don’t let it keep us running in circles. Stop, drop and rejoice!! Amen.

God will always be waiting and ready to hear our praises.
