Tag: Bible verses about having faith

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-26-19

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Have you ever noticed that some people have very strong faith? And yet others have very weak faith, or very little faith at all.

Why is that, anyway?

Well, it’s mostly because some people have come to understand how to grow their faith, while others have never been taught or have never desired it.

But here’s the key that so many people miss; strong faith is not gained by asking for it. It is gained by maturing into it.

And, really, the truth is that having strong faith doesn’t happen because we pursue stronger faith. It comes because we have a strong relationship with God. Strong faith is a byproduct of a strong walk with God.

So, if we’re desiring strong faith, we need to refocus our time and energy away from pursuing faith and toward pursuing God. And as our walk with God grows, so does our faith. In essence, faith is really just trust in God.

As our trust in God grows, our faith will grow accordingly. And the funny thing is that we may not even recognize that our faith has grown until we start looking back at things that God has had us do, or when we see how we have reacted to certain situations and circumstances.

Then it hits us and we see it more clearly.

How do we reach a point where we trust God so much that our faith in Him is strong? By devouring His word. Remember, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

In other words, our faith grows as we hear, learn and understand the word of God and the message of Christ.

So it’s up to us to put forth the effort. It’s up to us to take the bull by the horns and press in to God, draw near to Him, seek Him with our whole heart.

As we make the effort, God gives the increase.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-18

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Our walk with God is based on faith. As we grow closer to God, our faith will grow. And as our faith grows, we will see more and more of God’s work in every aspect of our lives.

But how do we grow our faith in God? How do we get to a place where we show that we trust God with everything about our lives with our actions, not just with our words?

The absolute most important step is spending time in His word. It’s hearing His word that gives us faith. His word feeds our spirit. A strong spirit is able to hear and obey God more easily than a weak spirit.

In addition to spending time in His word, we also need to put action behind our words. Having faith is not based on our works, but without action, our faith is not worth much.

James 2:20 (NKJV) 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

James says that faith without works is dead. In this particular verse, dead can also be translated as “useless”. So, if we don’t put action behind our words and show God that we trust Him by the actions we take, then our faith is useless. Those are pretty strong words right there.

Many people think this verse refers only to what we do for others, by helping people or giving to people. But it also means that we need to put action behind our words by doing what God asks of us.

Peter stepped down out of the boat, onto the water, and walked to Jesus when Jesus called out to him to do so. Peter’s steps were an outward sign of his faith in Jesus. If Jesus had simply asked Peter if he trusted Him, all Peter would have had to do was say “yes”.

But when Jesus beckoned Peter and called him to step out of the boat, Peter’s faith had to be put into action. And Peter suddenly found himself literally walking on the water, toward Jesus.

It was only when Peter looked at the water through his natural eyes, and he began to doubt, that he started to sink.

By speaking, we tell God that we have faith. By doing, we show Him that we have faith.

Let’s show God that we have faith in Him, not just with our words, but with our actions also.

Bible Verse of The Day – Faith and Projects – 3-11-18

Greetings fellow believers!

We pray that your life is being blessed by God.

Did you know that faith and projects go hand in hand? That’s right!

God doesn’t give us faith simply for the sake of us having faith. He gives us faith so that we will trust Him more and so we can use that trust to let Him guide us through the projects He gives us to complete.

We just recorded and published a new video on this topic, and we’d love for you to watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

In this new video, we share some Biblical examples of this. We also share how this has affected our own lives.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope that this video will shed some light on this topic, giving you some direction in your walk with God and the projects He asks you to complete for His kingdom.

Be blessed in all that you do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-19-18

Romans 4:5 (NKJV) 5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness…

Our good works do not make us righteous in God’s eyes. It doesn’t happen that way.

Some types of religious organizations may promote good works as a way to obtain righteousness. But, righteousness in God’s eyes comes through having faith and believing in who Jesus says He is, and what He did for each one of us.

When we give our life over and surrender it up to Him, that faith that we have in Him is accounted for righteousness.

This is all made possible by the blood of Christ. His shed blood washed away our sins and made it possible for God to look upon us as righteous and cleansed; spotless.

We can’t get this by our good works or good deeds. It’s by faith and faith alone.

Do we believe on Him, Jesus Christ, who justifies the ungodly? Do we trust Him as our Redeemer, Healer and Provider? If so, then our faith is accounted for righteousness!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-17

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Trusting God with little things causes us to use and have little faith and get little results. Trusting God with bigger things will cause our faith to grow, getting us bigger results.

What are we waiting for? Are we comfortable with the things we are handing over to Him, and that is as far as we want to go with our walk? That’s OK if that is where we want to stay. But remember Who we are walking with. There is much more if we are willing to surrender more.

God is a faithful God. The deeper we go with Him, the more exciting things get.

We can choose to be comfortable, and have control over the way things go, and keep on doing it the way we are used to.

But if we like excitement and challenges, we need to step out as God leads and go for it.

He will rock our world with His creativity if we let Him!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-20-17

Matthew 9:29-30 (NKJV) 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” 30 And their eyes were opened…

Our faith is very important in every aspect of our lives.

Our faith is the foundation upon which our walk with God is built. If our faith is weak, so will our walk with God be weak.

Faith affects our relationship with God on many levels.

The strength of our faith, or the lack of strength, will determine whether we believe Him or doubt Him.

It will determine whether we follow Him with our whole heart or with just a tiny piece of it.

It will determine whether we pray with power or pray weakly and with few results.

Our faith will determine how we approach each day. It will affect how we carry ourselves. And it will change our outlook on everything.

Jesus specifically told the blind men “According to your faith let it be to you”. They confessed their faith in Him to heal them. And it was done.

Everything we do in our lives will be affected by our faith. So how do we have strong faith?

We stop trying to build our faith for the sake of having faith. And we start building our faith and trust in God. God is the supplier of our faith. He gave each and every one of us a “measure of faith”. Whether that measure grows or not is up to us.

We put God first in everything. Our attitude. Our work. Our relationships. Our giving. Our friendships, and much more.

And we spend time with Him. We read His word. We talk with Him. We get to know Him in a personal way. And as we do this, our relationship with Him gets stronger and stronger.

And that strong relationship translates into stronger faith.

Yes, it takes work on our part. Strong faith doesn’t come by way of someone laying hands on us and speaking it over us. It doesn’t come simply by us asking for it. And it doesn’t come by reading books about it.

But God rewards those who diligently seek Him. So, as we seek Him with purpose and in sincerity, He will reward us with stronger faith and a changed heart.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Seek Him. Put Him first. And build a strong walk with Him. And watch your faith blossom and grow in strength.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-8-17

Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith. It’s what our entire walk with God is based on.

It takes faith to reach out to Him. It takes faith to live each day as His child. In fact, it is impossible to please God without faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Some might ask how to please Him if we have only a little faith, or if we lack faith. The answer is in the last part of the above verse; diligently seek Him.

You see, too many of us spend our time trying to grow and build our faith. Many times, having big faith becomes the focus of our daily walk, instead of God himself.

We chase faith. We seek faith. We “speak faith”. We read books and watch videos about having more faith. But in the end, if all we are pursuing is faith, we will be left emptyhanded, weak and feeble. And we will still have little or no faith.

God, and our walk with Him, should be our sole focus. We should not strive to have big faith. We should put all of our effort into having a big relationship with our big God!

By doing so, our faith will grow and become strong, and become active in our lives. It will be what takes us from one day to the next. And it will be what helps us to trust God for even the most basic needs in our lives.

Why? Because we have sought God diligently. And as our relationship with God grows, our faith grows accordingly.

Think of it like building muscles. We set out to have big muscles, so we exercise them. As our muscles grow, they become stronger. And because they get stronger, we can now move heavy things that we wouldn’t have been able to move when our muscles were weaker.

We didn’t set out to be able to move heavier things. We simply set out to grow our muscles. But being able to move heavy things is a byproduct of having big muscles.

Having big faith is a byproduct of having a strong walk with God.

So remember; having big faith won’t give us a stronger walk with God. Having a strong walk with God will give us big faith.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-17

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

We don’t walk by sight.

I had this conversation the other day with someone that was feeling very discouraged. The situation they were facing had loss written all over it.

How do we stay encouraged as believers and keep going when our situation is discouraging, and when everything we hear and see about it is not good and we are feeling scared?

This is when we buckle down and let our faith in God rise above all our feelings and thoughts. We rise above all that we can see and hear and just stay silent, trusting that God has the answer. And know that whatever it may be is going to be good.

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “…assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

Faith will help us through!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-28-16

Habakkuk 2:4(NKJV) 4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

The proud are those who can never take no for an answer. The proud are those who think they can take care of themselves. The proud are those who see themselves sinking, but will not ask for help or take the steps toward making things right. The proud refuse help from God, because of their very own hearts.

They cannot blame it on anyone but themselves. Pride comes from within.

We don’t want to be the proud. We want to be the just.

The just will humble themselves and ask for help. The just will acknowledge that they have weaknesses and are willing to take one day at a time and work on them with the help that God provides.

The just are those who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of the Almighty God. And their salvation, strength, understanding, wisdom and provision come from Him alone. The just will learn to take no for an answer and wait on the promise of God to come forth.

Who are we today? Are we the proud or are we the JUST? If we are the just then we need to walk in faith and stop trying to do everything ourselves.

We need to obey what God is saying to our hearts, no matter what things look like in front of us, and move forward in what He is saying to do.

Noah had to have faith in what God said to him in order to build the ark. Moses had to have faith in God to lead the Israelites out of bondage and captivity. Mary had to have faith in God to give birth to our Messiah despite being a virgin. Peter had to have faith in order to walk on water. There are so many things that happened in God’s word when the JUST obeyed God’s word and lived by faith.

We don’t just visit faith. We, His children, LIVE by faith, move in faith and breathe in faith.

What is God speaking to us today? Our steps taken in faith and obedience will get us there.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-1-16

Matthew 8:26 (NKJV) 26 But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

What is the size of our faith? Are we very little in faith? Are we just doing enough to keep us content?

In order to grow our faith we have to take steps and sometimes those steps are very scary and uncomfortable. Sometimes the steps can make us angry and mad, because we like where we are at and we don’t want things to change.

But these are the very steps that bring humility. And the very steps that may challenge our own understanding and cause us to stand stronger in God’s promises.

They cause us to rely on Him, to seek Him for the next step and to follow Him in obedience. These steps cause us to look to Him when we are used to relying on ourselves. Ouch.

Whatever it is that God is calling us to do, we need to step out! Not on our own, but with Him beside us, guiding us and with us standing strong on His promise, His word.

Don’t step out thinking “we’ve got this”. Step out knowing that if it is what He is asking us to do, that He’s got this.

Matthew 14:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

When Peter stepped out of the boat, He knew He did not have what it took to stand on that water. But He knew the One who DID!

Peter didn’t need to step out of the boat. If you’re on the water, being in the boat would seem like the logical place to be, right?

But if Peter never stepped out of what he may have thought was the best place to be at that moment, or if he never stepped out of his place of being content or feeling safe, he would never ever have experienced what real faith could do for him at that very moment.

How many today are in a safe place of contentment, thinking it’s the best place to be?

Is Jesus calling us to take a step of faith? Is He asking us to step out of that place of comfort and contentment and get a glimpse of His miraculous work, His Might, His Power and His FAITHFULNESS?

Are we stuck today in what we think is the best place for us to be? Are we missing out on seeing a miracle in our life?

This is not something we do on our own, out of presumption or based on emotion. Just as Jesus called Peter out, He will call, or prompt us, in His timing. And if He does, it will be personal and in a unique way.

It may be something small, or it may be something big. It may be something we’ve never even thought of doing. But if it is Jesus prompting us and asking us, let’s take that step of faith in Him. Watch Him move!

Let Him grow our faith today as He leads us to take steps in certain directions and areas of our lives.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-9-16

Job 19:25 (NKJV) 25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;

Job went through some serious stuff! His entire life was turned upside down in less than 24 hours.

During that short period of time, he lost his children and all of his earthly possessions. The only thing he had left was his wife and a few friends. And even his wife and friends were no help to him as he went through his trials.

But despite the severe trials that Job faced and went through, he never lost his faith in God.

We always hear about the patience of Job, which is somewhat true. But even more than patience, Job had strong faith. Had he not had strong faith, he would have turned his back on God and walked away.

But even after everything he went through, Job could boldly say “I know that my Redeemer lives”.

Let Job be an example for all of us to follow in our own lives.
