Bible Verse of The Day – 3-5-15

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) 8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

It’s important to give God time, space and a PLACE in our everyday walk with Him.

We serve an awesome God! His plans and thoughts for us are more then we could ever imagine.

He is full of good, great and mighty ideas for us, beyond what we could ever think of.

We need to surrender our thoughts and our plans to Him and let Him take us places we have never been before.

Let us walk together in His greatness. He is good!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-4-15

Micah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

In the verse above there is a lot to take in. There’s a lot of “meat” there. But, today, let’s take a look at the last part; to walk humbly with your God.

Humility and pride; two complete opposites. To be humble means to drop our pride. That’s a big deal and it can take a lot of work and effort for some of us.

Pride is a killer of so many things; relationships, opportunities, careers, friendships and many more. But most importantly, it can kill our walk with God if we’re not careful.

Proverbs 11:2 (NKJV) 2 When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom.

God wants us to walk before Him humbly. If we are to ever build a relationship with Him, we need to let Him show us where we’re carrying pride and then let Him help us to lay that pride down.

He will show us everything we need to know if we let Him. It might hurt a little at first. Heck, it might even hurt a lot, but our hurts will heal once we get past ourselves and let God work in us, to mold us and shape us into who He made us to be.

The less we fight Him on this, the less it will hurt. And the less we resist, the sooner we can get ourselves fixed up and moving in the direction He wants for us.

Remember; it’s better to get right with God than to always be right!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-3-15

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

Are you struggling to find answers to your dilemma right now?

Do you feel like your back’s against the wall, with no way to escape?

Are you wondering where God is during the storm that’s in your life right now?

And are you wondering where God is in the midst of all of this? Why does it seem like He’s silent and not speaking to you?

Call out to Him. Press in to Him. Become passionate about Him!

As we reach out to Him and make an effort to draw closer to Him, He will do the same.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…

It’s never as complicated as we make it. We tend to read more into this than what’s really there, and as a result, we end up further from God, instead of closer to Him.

God is mysterious. There is no doubt about that at all. But getting close to God isn’t mysterious at all. It just requires persistent effort on our part. And it requires patience, simply because growing a relationship takes time to happen.

So if you’re feeling like you’re alone and God isn’t close to you, press into Him. Spend time with Him. Call to Him. Listen for His voice. Draw Near to Him.

And if we’ll be faithful in doing these things, He will draw near to us and show us great and mighty things which we do not know.

And those things will be like the key that unlocks the chains that are binding us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-2-15

Psalm 5:3 (NKJV) 3 My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; In the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up.

In these times that we live, distractions are many and seem to be multiplying as each month and year passes by.

There are so many things that pull on us and vie for our time and attention. TV, The internet, social media, electronic gadgets, smartphones, and so much more. Before we know it, our day has passed by us and we’re wondering where it went.

The moment we wake up each day, it’s easy to reach for our devices and begin typing, chatting, listening, watching, etc. And there goes our first few moments of the day, getting caught up in things that occupy our mind and take up our time.

It has become hard to put God first each morning. But that doesn’t mean we should stop trying. A little effort on our part will go a long way toward helping us to get, and keep, our priorities straight each day when we rise.

Throughout God’s word we see examples of God’s people, and even Jesus Himself, getting up early and pulling away into a quiet place, to spend some quiet time communing and talking with God. It’s during those quiet times of solitude that we can hear God the best.

Mark 1:35 (NKJV) 35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Some of us have a hard time waking up early. It just takes so much effort to wake up before everyone else in the house. But each and every one of us can do it, if we really try!

Now don’t get us wrong. Our quiet time with God doesn’t have to be first thing in the morning. But that is usually the easiest time for most people to separate themselves from the usual distractions and get alone with Him.

We challenge you today to rise up and set time aside for God each day. It doesn’t have to be a religious ritual, doing the very same thing every time. It can just be some time that we set aside each day to tuck ourselves away in a quiet place and sit, kneel or lay in God’s presence and communicate with Him in an intimate, personal way.

It’s good for us and nourishing to our spirit!

Go ahead. We dare you!
