Bible Verses of The Day – 8-5-15

Mark 11:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

The most important thing we can do is believe; believe God will do what we pray and ask for.

The problem we have at times is that we can get discouraged if something doesn’t happen the way we want it to, or in the timing we would like it to take place in.

Some people today have been waiting a very long time for their answer. You may be starting to wonder if you made the right choices or if you asked Him for the right things. Maybe you are starting to have doubts about everything that you have been doing.

Don’t go down that road; that is a detour the enemy loves to use. Stay on the path of believing and trusting!

When we ask God for something in prayer, we must never put any stipulations on it; no timing, no how-we-would-like-it-done, etc. Just simply pray, ask and receive as God sees fit and provides.

Bible verse of The Day – 8-4-15

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

It doesn’t matter what comes our way. Battles will come and they will go.

We can get knocked down. But we get back up.

We can make mistakes, and some of them very major. But we can overcome those mistakes.

Who we are doesn’t depend solely on our mistakes or our accomplishments.

Who we are is dependent only on Christ.

Through Him we are more than conquerors. Through Him we are new creations. Through Him our sins are forgiven. And through Him we have overcome death, hell and the grave.

We owe Him everything. Without Him we are nothing. But with Him we can be thankful for so much.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-3-15

James 1:19-20 (NKJV) 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; 20 for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Anger and words don’t go well together.

The things we speak when we’re angry can be very hurtful, and even downright damaging.

The thing about words that we need to understand is that they can never, ever be taken back once they leave our mouths.

We can apologize for something we’ve said. We can ask that person we spoke against to forgive us, and they can forgive us. But none of that will ever change the hurt that we cause by speaking hastily or in anger.

It’s important that we choose our words very wisely when we speak. We need to let the Holy Spirit be our filter. He will never let us speak words that are hurtful or damaging.

If we are in a heated discussion, the best thing we can do is pull back and cool off. Then, when things have settled down a bit, continue the conversation.

We need to remember that our words have extreme power. They can cut or they can heal. They can lift up or they can tear down. They can bring life or bring death.

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

So let’s ask God to teach us how to guard our tongues and temper them so that the words we speak will bring love and life, not bitterness, hurt and death.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-31-15

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

God created us to live life to the fullest.

We were not created to wander, sullen and downtrodden. He didn’t create us simply to exist. We were each put here for a purpose!

So many people just shuffle through life, heads down, never taking the time to enjoy the life that God has blessed them with.

Yes, we all go through struggles and trials. But we all have so much to enjoy and be thankful for.

One thing that God has taught us is that no matter what we face, we need to continue to live, not just exist.

God has given us a future and a hope. This means that we can look ahead and know that things will somehow work out and get better. They won’t stay the same forever. We won’t fight this battle without seeing victory.

So lift your head, focus your eyes on our Heavenly Father, and enjoy the life you’ve been given. Don’t just exist. Be alive!
