Bible Verse of The Day – 8-18-15

Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

Sometimes we face things in life that knock us backwards a step or two. And there may be times when we feel like we just can’t get ahead. Can you relate to this?

But we’re here to tell you today that if we are a Christian, a follower of Christ, and we are living according to His word, we are the head and not the tail.

This means that no matter what comes our way, and no matter how bad it seems like we’re getting hit, we will come out on top.

We need to keep our faith strong and keep trusting Him to bring us through with victory, and then let Him do what He needs to do, without us putting Him in a box. And when we do this, He will show us where to put our feet and lead us each day.

And when everything is said and done, if we are obedient, the devil will be under our feet, where he belongs.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-17-15

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV) 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Are we ready to put away the things that are pulling us back instead of moving us forward? Those would be things that we do at times that may cause others to look at us and say, “and they call themselves a Christian?”.

Let God shine His light on those childish things that we continue in even though we know better. Maybe it’s the way we talk, or the way we carry ourselves when we get around certain people or the way we act when we are upset or angry.

We are no longer considered children, but men and women in Christ. We are ambassadors for Him.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

It’s  the beginning of a new day, the beginning of a new week and we have a fresh start to put away those childish things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-15-15

Romans 5:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peace can sometimes be hard to find. Our world is so full of chaos and strife. It makes peace seem almost nonexistent.

But as followers of Christ, we don’t get our peace from the world. We don’t get our peace from other people. Our peace comes from God.

As we grow in Christ, we learn to trust God with everything in our lives, including those times when we are faced with unexpected, stressful situations. In the natural, it’s easy to get stressed and become frantic.

But if we walk by faith, we will learn to look past what we see in the natural, and see things through new eyes, in the spiritual realm. Learning to do this will help us to lean on God and trust Him, no matter what we face.

It’s not always easy to do, but as we grow and mature as a believer, it gets easier each time. Eventually, it become almost second nature. And as we get better and better at it, the hard things we face have less and less impact on us.

2 Samuel 22:31 (NKJV) 31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Trust Him and let Him give us His peace.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-15

Psalm 37:25 (NKJV) 25 I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.

Have we ever been in a place where we just don’t know what to do? Everything seems to be turned upside down. We feel very overwhelmed and hoping God will show up and fix it all.

This is called being at a crossroad. It’s a place where we have to make a decision and it always seems like we need to make a quick one. But, that feeling of doing anything quick is just the pressure from our circumstances, or fear of not knowing what to do.

There is nothing wrong with not knowing what to do immediately when change hits us. Give it some time to work its way out. Decisions made in haste are never good.

God will never forsake the righteous. We need to stay calm and wait on Him to provide the answer or to open the door for us to walk through.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-15

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV) 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

We used to attend a church where the Pastor would stand at the door after each service and ask people, “do you have the victory?”

How many today know what the victory is? Victory comes through Jesus Christ, and if we have Him living in us, then the victory is available to us!

Through His blood, we who believe in Him have been set free. We have healing and deliverance available to us, in the name of Jesus.

We can have the victory no matter what we are going through, no matter what we face in our lives.

We need to remind ourselves of this when the enemy comes and tries to tell us anything different, because he will try at times. Especially when things don’t look or feel victorious. But we don’t walk by feelings or by sight. Nosiree!

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Thank God for His precious Son, Jesus Christ, and the victory He has given us through Him!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-12-15

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) 3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

God wants to show us things.

He doesn’t want to show us ordinary, everyday things. He wants to show us great and mighty things!!

Most of us would like to see great and mighty things, but most of us will also readily admit that we don’t see them. Most times we don’t even see little, common things.

Why?

Because most of us aren’t ready for great and mighty things. And this applies to people from pastors and church staff, right down to people who have just gotten saved a minute ago.

In order for us to see great and mighty things, God has to prepare us to be able to handle those things. We have to be spiritually ready for them… mature enough to grasp them and then do whatever it is God asks us to do with them.

The cool part is that every one of us can handle those things if we let God get ahold of us, touching and changing our hearts. Then we can handle whatever God sends our way and do whatever it is we’re supposed to do with it.

So if we’re asking God to show us great and mighty things, but we’re not seeing them, it’s not that God doesn’t want to show them to us. It’s more a matter of spending the time and doing the work necessary to prepare ourselves for them.

So we need to press in to Him and strengthen our walk with Him. If we do this, we can’t help but mature as a believer. And when we do, prepare to be amazed at what He begins showing us!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-11-15

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Trust.

It’s a word that brings different things to mind for each of us. We each have had our own experiences with trust; some good, some not so good.

For most (if not all) of us, our ability to trust has been tainted, stained by our not-so-good experiences where our trust has been broken by people.

Once trust is broken, it’s a hard thing to repair. And when it’s been repaired, it might not ever be the same as it was before it was betrayed.

But there is One who we can always trust. He will never leave us or forsake us. He will never betray us.

We may not always understand why some things happen, or why things happen the way they do. But as we learn to trust Him, we will be less concerned with those things and more concerned with how we can draw even closer to Him and understand Him, and His ways, better.

Learning to trust God explicitly takes time, and it takes effort. It doesn’t happen overnight. It doesn’t happen just because we want it to.

It happens when we deliberately seek Him, pursue Him and determine in our hearts that He is who He says He is. End of story.

So let’s keep pursuing Him and seeking Him diligently. For He is a rewarder of those who do so.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-15

Psalm 119:28 (NKJV) 28 My soul melts from heaviness; Strengthen me according to Your word.

We all need God’s strength to get through each day.

I remember one day, being alone, laying on my living room floor. I was crying very hard because of what we were going through and dealing with at that time. There was not an ounce in me that knew what to do about it or how to fix it. I felt helpless and lost, sobbing like a child, just looking up at the ceiling.

I looked beside me and in a split second I saw Jesus. He had a slight smile on His face and said, “It’s going to be alright.”

He comforted me in my moment of despair. He was ever so gentle with the softest spoken words. The smile on His face touched me in such a way, it took away the guilt I was feeling for mistakes we had made, and it gave me hope.

He didn’t tell me how it would be done. But I knew in that moment I had been strengthened to keep going and to trust Him in whatever needed to take place.

Just one touch from Jesus and He will change our attitude, bring us hope, bring us peace and the strength to pull us through.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-15

Hebrews 3:15 (NKJV) 15 while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

There can be times when we know exactly what God wants us to do, but because it’s not what we want or we don’t like the timing He has for us, we can tend to ignore Him.

Ignoring what God is speaking to our hearts is just the same as rebellion. We are simply saying “we hear you God, but we really don’t want to go there or down that route. We don’t like Your plan.”

We have all been here at one time or another.

To get to the point of listening to God and hearing His voice takes being aware that He is with us at all times. He doesn’t have to leave our side to go help someone else, or leave someone else to come and help us.

So, if we are lost, He will help us find our place. He is Omnipresent, meaning He is everywhere at the same time. He is aware of EVERYTHING.

He has good plans for us.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

It’s never too late to begin to listen to God. He has hope and a future for us. Hear His voice today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-15

Proverbs 3:11-12 (NKJV) 11 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; 12 For whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.

Sometimes we get acting up a little and need an attitude adjustment.

We all have days or times when we’re just not thinking right and we need to be shown by the Holy Spirit where we’re going wrong.

It’s not that God is mad at us or wants to hurt us. But because He loves us, He also corrects us from time to time. It’s good for us!

It’s not always pleasant when it happens, but if we heed His correction and follow His leading, we will be so much better off in the long run.

Just as we need to chasten and scold our own kids once in a while, so does God need to watch over us and chasten us when we need it.

So if we have an attitude problem, let’s listen to God’s promptings and follow His leading and get it fixed up.

It may hurt a little in the short run, but in the long run we will be a much stronger believer and live a life of victory in Jesus 🙂

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-15

Psalm 37:1 (NKJV) 37 Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.

Sometimes it’s tempting to look at someone who seems to get everything they want, and be envious of them, even if what they’ve gained is by unethical methods.

And sometimes it may even be tempting to be envious of someone who is doing things that look like they might be a lot of fun, but clearly wrong and against God’s principles, in His word.

But no matter how fun something looks or how good some people seem to have it, we need to cling to the things that God says are right, and not let evildoers tempt us to stray from the path that God has set our feet upon.

As we draw close to God, the desire to participate in those kinds of things will fade away. And as we grow as a believer, we will no longer be concerned with what others are doing. Instead, we will want to spend more time and energy building our relationship with our Father, who loves us beyond words.

Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you!
