Bible Verse of The Day – 5-7-16

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Learning how to cast our cares on Him can sometimes be a bit difficult. We’re so used to doing everything ourselves, that handing it off to God requires retraining our minds a bit.

But it’s truly important that we learn how to do this, to cast our cares upon Him, if we are to learn to walk and live by faith.

There will be days when doing this is a breeze. Then there will be days when it seems like we just can’t let go of our troubles and our worries and give them to Him.

But we’re here to tell you today that casting our cares on God is the best way, no matter how hard it might seem to be.

It’s the way that shows our faith and teaches us to trust Him with everything about our lives. And it’s also the way to lower our stress levels, as we learn to let God handle those things that we thought we had to carry ourselves.

Trials come. It’s part of life here on earth. They can be painful. There’s no doubt about it. And sometimes it might seem like they will never end.

But they will end. They will cease and we will have victory. And while we’re going through those trials, that’s the time when we learn to cast our cares upon Him and let Him carry those things that weigh us down.

Take a step today and do this. Do what God has told us to do. He knows what’s best for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-6-16

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

We have to understand that today is all that God requires us to take care of.

If we get done all that we need to get done, we should enjoy the extra time for ourselves or whatever it may be that God lays on our hearts at that time.

Don’t be anxious and thinking we always have to be busy doing something. Sometimes we need to just breathe a little. If we keep filling up our empty time, we will have no time for the important things. No time to rest, no time to play, no time for our spouse, no time for our children and no time for God.

God cares deeply for us and how much we put on ourselves. Enjoy today for what it is. And as difficult as it might seem to be to do this, don’t worry about tomorrow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-5-16

2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV) 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…

God has equipped us with weapons. These are powerful weapons of warfare.

But these weapons of warfare aren’t natural or carnal. They are spiritual weapons that give us everything we need to defeat the enemy of our souls.

Warfare is never easy. It carries a high price tag on many occasions. And it can leave some nasty scars at times. And, most times it changes our lives forever.

And there can be times when we’re in a battle, that we feel like laying down, curling up into a ball and wishing the world would just go away. This is natural and normal for our flesh to react this way.

But there is one thing for sure. And that is that God wants us to have victory in our lives. And He has given us exactly what we need in order to have that victory!

But it’s spiritual warfare and spiritual victory that we pursue. We are not in a battle with man. We are not at war with governments or anything tangible.

We are at war with demonic powers and principalities. These are the things that lash out at us. These are the things that claw at us, trying desperately to take us down. And these are the things that we are commissioned and equipped to attack and destroy, with the authority that God has given us, through Jesus Christ.

So let’s fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12), finish the race and keep our faith strong, in the name of Jesus! Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-4-16

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

There are many different kinds of spirits. The Bible mentions several of them by name. A lying spirit. Spirits of infirmity. And a spirit of fear, to name a few.

A spirit of fear can cause complete chaos in our lives if we don’t recognize it and rebuke it.

Being fearful can cause us to do things and make choices that we would never normally even consider.

Why? Because a spirit of fear will attack our mind, sometimes relentlessly, and cause us to become frantic. It will have us running, trying to get away from it. And by doing so, we will begin making choices based on fear. It will even cause us to pray in fear, instead of in faith.

And when we pray out of fear, we can actually doubt what we’re praying for as we speak the words.

James 1:6 (NKJV) 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

So, because we’re doubting, we pray and pray, with no answers and no victory. And because we don’t get answers, we become even more fearful and frantic, causing us to fall into a downward spiral.

Soon, if we’re not careful, we can become an emotional wreck, spending most of our time being fearful of what will happen next.

So, today, recognize that spirit of fear. And rebuke it from operating in your life.

Don’t rebuke it out of fear of what it can do to you. But rebuke it with faith, knowing that you have been given the authority, in the name of Jesus, to drive it away and send it packing, forever.

It’s time for us to remember that authority. And it’s time for us to begin using it again, as God intended for us to do. Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-3-16

Psalm 4:1 (NKJV) 4 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

Prayer is powerful. It’s there, in prayer, that God relieves us of our distress!

When we run into a situation, the first thing it can cause is distress. Whether it is for us or someone else. Things could be going along really great. But if something wrong shows up, bam… how quickly stress can come on us and cause chaos.

Prayer is the best place to go with it. Instead of sharing it with others, take it to God. That is where we will find true relief.

Sometimes we wait, we ponder on it, and we try to figure it all out on our own. If we can’t figure it out, we share it with others, hoping to get some kind of relief and answers. FINALLY, after all that, we are so tired that we give up and say, “Ok, I guess I have to get prayer.”

Go, get with God first. If we can learn to immediately go to God, our relief will come quicker and it is an opportunity to show God that our faith is in HIM alone!!

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-2-16

Galatians 3:28 (NKJV) 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

In Christ, skin color doesn’t matter.

In Christ, nationality doesn’t matter.

In Christ, ethnicity doesn’t matter.

As followers of Christ, it’s time that we put away prejudice. It’s time that we put away hatred toward those of another race or nationality. It’s time that we love our brothers and sisters, regardless of their heritage or their family tree.

God loves us in spite of our shortcomings. He loves us in spite of our sin. He loves us in spite of our ignorance and stubborn pride.

So, as believers, we need to do the same for others. We need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, loving the people that God brings into our lives.

There’s no room for bigotry, prejudice or anything similar in the body of Christ!

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV) 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
