Bible Verse of The Day – 12-9-17

Genesis 6:9 (NKJV) 9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

Noah walked with God. What a way to live this life here on earth.

Did Noah wait until he got to heaven to walk with God? No way! He walked with Him here.

We all need to walk daily with God. That means we need to make room for Him. That means we need to stop trying to walk on our own, by ourselves, for ourselves and in and of ourselves.

There are many Christians today that, even though God is their Father and they are His child, still have a problem with letting God in on their life.

They feel that life is theirs until they get to Heaven. Then and only then God can have them.

That is not how it is intended to be. Of course, it can be that way if that is our will. But think about this; is that really what we want?

Do we want God in our life only when we need Him? Or do we want to walk daily with Him, like Noah did?

Some may mistakenly take this verse as saying God walked with Noah because he was a just man; Because he was perfect in his generation. But, Noah became this man from his relationship and his walk with God.

This man, Noah, was human. He had faults of his own, just like you and I. But by walking with God he became this man.

Noah and God had a relationship. And we can all have that, simply by walking humbly, following His word, and trusting and believing in His Son, Jesus Christ. Don’t wait to get to Heaven. know Him now, every day.

Micah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-8-17

Job 12:13 (NKJV) 13 “With Him are wisdom and strength, He has counsel and understanding.

How are we about stepping out and doing something outside of our comfort zone? Do we get nervous and not want to make a move? Do we get excited and start running with it?

We can’t let nervousness stop us from putting one foot in front of the other. And we can’t let excitement cause us to take off running before we have God’s plan or strategy.

When we know God has opened a door for us, but we have no idea how or what to do, how do we handle it?

Are the finances not there to make it work? Or maybe the time and labor we need to put into it just isn’t there? Sometimes we will even ponder on the fact that we don’t have the knowledge to pull it off.

In situations like these, we feel inadequate in a lot of areas, causing us to become overwhelmed and intimidated.

These are all normal things we think about, and they will cause us to get nervous.

So, what do we do?

First and foremost, we seek God for His wisdom and understanding for the thing He has put before us.

This doesn’t mean He will come and lay it all out for us all at once. But, seeking His wisdom for the first step to take, and the timing of it, is of the utmost importance.

Keep it simple. One step at a time.

Sometimes He will give us vision for the project, but it’s not necessary for us to take off with it all at once. We need to hold it dear to our hearts, and walk accordingly, by moving prayerfully.

Our prayers are with you, and if you are in need of pastoral guidance, feel free to contact us by phone or email at any time.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-7-17

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We all tend to carry ourselves a certain way. We present a picture or an image to those around us. And, most times, we will try to present a picture of what we want people to see, not what’s really there.

We want people to think we have it all together, with no problems, no fears, no doubts and no sin.

For some reason, we have become afraid of what people might think of us. We hide the struggles that we go through, worried that if anyone knew what was going on inside of us, they would reject us or think of us as being less “spiritual”.

This is a problem in the world, but it shouldn’t be present in the body of Christ.

The world spends way too much time trying to keep up with each other. Our appearance, our possessions, our happiness and many other things are all presented to everyone else in a way that will try to impress them. More than that, we want everyone to think our life is perfect.

As followers of Christ, the only concern we should have with how others perceive us is whether we represent Christ honorably and favorably to those around us.

Honesty is something we have abandoned when it comes to our struggles and the battles we fight individually. And there’s a good reason for this.

Corporately, we have fallen into the habit of judging each other. We are quick to throw stones, condemning someone because of their faults, while being very far away from “having it all together” ourselves.

Perfection belongs to only One. Perfection is not required, nor expected from us.

Yes, we are called to live righteous lives and to pursue holiness.

1 Peter 1:16 (NKJV) 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”

But we are not expected or required to be perfect. We are works in progress, constantly being shaped and molded by our Father in heaven. We fall down. But we get back up and we move forward.

And until we actually complete our journey here on earth, and stand before God himself, we need to continue to look to the Author and finisher of our faith, and trust Him to smooth off those rough edges and help guide our feet on the path He has set before us.

Just as we ourselves are not perfect, neither are those around us. So, we need not try to present ourselves as being perfect any more than we should expect perfection from others.

And, in the meantime, becoming speck examiners should not be part of our resume’.

Matthew 7:3 (NKJV) 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-17

Job 5:17 (NKJV) 17 “Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

When God brings correction, we know it. The only time we don’t know what God is saying to us is when we get stubborn and refuse to listen.

There are times when we are not sure of the steps we need to take and we just need more time for Him to unfold it. That’s different, and it’s OK for us to take the time needed to get His direction and understanding.

But sometimes we deliberately don’t hear or receive God’s correction. Because deep down we know it’s going to cost us something or go against what we want to be doing. This is called having ears, but not hearing.

Mark 8:18 (NKJV) 18 Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?

We prefer to be doing what we want to do. We prefer to be doing things the way we are used to doing them. And we like it that way.

We ignore God’s promptings, words, and His reminders that come through the scriptures.

Have we ever been in this place? It’s uncomfortable, frustrating and makes for a miserable time.

It’s not hard to know what we are doing when we are ignoring God. We will feel it, we will see it and we will know it.

Our hearts will tell us something’s wrong. Our attitude changes. We get hard, prideful and arrogant. And sometimes we are nasty to those around us, those we work with, those we live with and those that we love.

Our hearts change when we ignore God’s correction. We become a different person. Kind of like a cold, hard stone.

But we don’t have to stay like that. We can come to God, repent and receive His correction at any time. His correction will fix us back up and help us to walk the path He has for us. And we will be blessed.

Psalm 94:12 (NKJV) 12 Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law…

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-5-17

Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV) 25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.

Are we afraid of man? Do we walk around, fearful of what people may try to do to us if we don’t do what they say, or act the way they want us to act? If so, we may live our lives doing everything we can to please them, even if it is something we know we shouldn’t be doing.

Many people live like this and don’t even realize it. More than we would expect, including people we would never expect it from.

What does fear of man do? It gives people control over us. It puts them in charge.

When we are afraid of man, we lose our identity. We walk in intimidation and fear daily, and we are at their beck and call.

There will be times when we know we should speak up, stand up or walk out, etc., but we feel paralyzed and unable to do so.

We’ve allowed this fear of man to dominate us and control us. If we give man the upper hand, he will take it.

Let God deliver us and help us get free from the fear of man today.

Dear God in Heaven,

I come to You today and ask for forgiveness for my fear of man. I ask You to help me and deliver me from this fear. I am willing to take the steps You have for me and I no longer want to live this way. But instead, I put every bit of my trust in You.

I rebuke the spirit of fear and his attack against me, in Jesus’ name. I am no longer in bondage to him, but claim my freedom to speak up, to stand up, to walk where I need to walk and to make the right decisions.

Show me how to stand firm Lord, as I want to live by Your strength every day. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-4-17

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

These are very powerful words.

Jesus spoke of the fact that in the world, we will have tribulation. But, He told us to be of good cheer. He also promised that in Him, we would have peace.

How? How can we have peace in the midst of tribulation? How can we be of good cheer while being tossed about by a storm?

By way of the fact that He has overcome the world. That’s how!

The world, as Jesus spoke of it, doesn’t just refer to the people of the world… the unbelievers or those who do evil. But He referred more to the world as a whole. The ways of the world, the evil in the world, the storms of life and the things we face each and every day.

These things can and will wear us down if we let them. They will suck the life out of us if we try to face them on our own, by our own power, strength and understanding.

Instead, Jesus reassured us that He has already overcome the world. And because of this, if our faith and trust are in Him, then we can also overcome the world, and all of the things in it.

He didn’t promise that it would be easy. He didn’t promise that it would happen instantly. He didn’t promise that we would be able to understand it all. He simply promised that, because He overcame the world, we could have peace and joy because of His victory. And because He overcame the world, we can also be overcomers in Christ.

So, as we feel the weight of the cares of this world on our shoulders, we need to pull our strength from Him, and stand up. And as we stand up, we need to speak to our storm and say “Peace, be still”!

Mark 4:39 (NKJV) 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-17

Romans 13:13 (NKJV) 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

Drunkenness. It’s something that God frowns upon, yet it’s also something that is a major problem for millions of people.

Some might call it a disease. Others might call it an addiction. And while there may be little pieces of truth in either of those terms, the Bible is very clear with God’s definition.

God calls it sin.

Now, this is not to throw stones at anyone. But the truth can set us free, if we will embrace it. And the truth is that God considers drunkenness a sin.

Drunkenness is something that many, many people from all walks of life engage in. It’s not limited to unbelievers. Believers also take part in this.

After a while, being drunk can become a habit. And, if we’re not careful, it will become a way of life.

Drunkenness can lead to many other problems; relationship problems, loss of employment, impaired judgment, alcohol-related diseases and, if not stopped, it can kill us.

Death by alcohol isn’t pretty or pleasant. It eats a person away slowly, one little piece at a time. It is not something that we want to see anyone go through.

If you engage in or struggle with drunkenness, take whatever steps are necessary to get help and stop.

It may require medical help. It may require addiction counseling. It may even require deliverance.

It all starts with recognizing that you’re in bondage to it, and then making a choice to stop. And from there, everyone’s journey is different.

And though the journey to freedom might be different for everyone, one thing is sure. The name of Jesus can set you free.

So, we encourage you today, get whatever help you need. Repent before God and ask Him to help you. If you’re serious about getting free, He can help you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-17

Psalm 119:2 (NKJV) 2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!

The crucifixion of Christ was more than just a man dying on a cross. His death was for each one of us. It was purposed, it was planned for you and I.

How precious a gift it is. This is something to hold onto and never let go of.

No matter how hard life can be, we are blessed!

We are blessed in that moment of despair.

We are blessed in that moment of loss.

We are blessed in that moment of trial and tribulation.

How can this be? How can we be blessed in moments like these? Because He gave His life for us!

Nothing and no one on this earth can take away our blessing. It’s His gift to us.

We can be in the worst season of our life, but we still remain blessed.

Hallelujah!

Don’t let hard times, despair, loss, or trials and tribulations cause us to lose sight of what Jesus and His Father did for each one of us. They gave us a personalized gift that lasts forever, we are BLESSED!
