Bible Verse of the Day – 2-6-22 – What It Means to Be Still

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Most of us are familiar with the scripture where we are told to “be still and know that I am God”. It’s a very common verse to hear quoted.

But some of us wrestle with understanding exactly what the “be still” part means.

In today’s video, What It Means to Be Still, we break this down and teach it in a way that makes it easier to understand.

We hope you will take a few minutes to watch this video, and that it will bring some clarity to this topic for you.

Bible Verse of the Day – 2-5-22

Revelation 3:15-16 (NKJV) 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

We need to be in or out. There is no in between. And if we think we can play around with this, we need to think again.

If we live our lives trying to straddle the fence, He will vomit us out.

What does it mean for a Christian to be Lukewarm?

It means that we show little enthusiasm about our walk with God. We do things halfheartedly, not taking it seriously. It means we are apathetic, uninvolved and passive about learning, growing and dedicating our life to Him.

Wow! We can’t think that we are even close to Him if we are lukewarm. He speaks very clearly on this subject.

Get in HIs word, pray and walk with Him. Let us get on fire for Him!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-4-22

Jeremiah 10:2-3 (NLT) 2 This is what the Lord says: “Do not act like the other nations, who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them. 3 Their ways are futile and foolish…

Many times throughout the word of God we are warned not to seek or follow after diviners, astrologers, psychics, mediums, etc.

Here, God is warning His people once again about this; reading their future in the stars.

In the verses following 2-3 (above), God goes on to expound on the foolishness of the ways of people who look to the stars for their guidance and security.

His words draw parallels between the people who practice astrology and those who worship idols and other false gods made from wood and various types of metals.

And just as He says above not to be afraid of the predictions of those who follow the stars, He also assures us not to be afraid of such false gods, for they cannot harm us nor do us any good.

If you are, or have been, following horoscopes and/or various forms of astrology or zodiacs, we urge you to stop doing so right away.

Astrology is not of the Holy Spirit. It is, to be quite honest, of the wrong spirit (demonic), and will do more harm to your walk with God than most people realize.

God alone can offer salvation, redemption and the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Christ. And God alone can walk you through this life, with His truth, mercy and grace.

Astrology cannot, just as false gods cannot.

Put your trust in God alone.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-3-22

Matthew 27:51 (NKJV) 51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split…
The veil of the temple was a very heavy curtain that separated the Holy Place from the Holy of Holies (the most holy place).
The veil being torn in two was not an act of man, but of God Himself. Its tearing represents the removal of any barriers between God and man, showing that Jesus’ death made a way for believers to have direct access to God.
We can go to God wherever we are. We can call on Him and He will hear us. We don’t need to go to or rely on another person to go to God for us.

Jesus did this for us because He loved His Father and because He loves you and I. He went through the most painful death for us.

He was crucified so we could have a meaningful, one-on-one relationship with the Father, through Him.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

When I think of what Jesus and the Father did for us, their plan to save us, it humbles me to no end.

I cannot fathom how anyone could have such a love. This love is so deep and beautiful. It’s such a fulfilling love. It’s a love that longs for nothing but to obey with our whole being.

Matthew 22:37 (NKJV) 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-2-22

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

While some may view this scripture as a warning from Jesus, it is more than that.

Yes, it is a warning, reminding us that without Him we can do nothing.

But it’s also a promise, reinforcing the fact that if we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit.

Abiding in Him is, in fact, the foundation of bearing fruit. He is the source of that fruit. Therefore, if we do not abide in Him, there is no fruit that we can bear.

Jesus takes it further, drawing on the analogy of Him being the vine, and us being the branches.

Most people in His day were very familiar with farming, and especially the growing and cultivating of grapes. So, they easily understood His sayings and teachings about vines, branches and fruit.

In light of this, we can view it like this. Jesus, being the vine that we (branches) are attached to, provides whatever we need for nutrition and sustenance that allows us to grow strong. We draw everything we need from Him.

And because we draw from Him, we can become strong, allowing us to bear fruit.

But Jesus doesn’t just say that we will bear fruit. He says that as we abide in Him, we will bear much fruit!

Let’s be sure to abide in Him, allowing us to bear much fruit for the kingdom of God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-1-22

Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV) 9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.

When we want the Lord to direct our steps, our ear must be in tune with Him.

And how do we do that? The Holy Spirit must be given the freedom to have dominion over our flesh.

It’s OK if we want to plan our own lives. But we need to understand that if we are not willing to let God direct our steps, we will only get out of it the fruits of our flesh.

Many believers today are wondering why God is not intervening on their behalf.

We need to understand that God intervenes on our behalf when we give our plans over to Him. He goes to bat for us when we are walking out His steps.

We can’t jump on board and then jump off and expect results that are in line with still being on board. We’ve got to stick with Him through thick and thin.

For instance, if we want a particular job really badly, and we go after it because it’s our desire to work at a particular place, we may get that job and be excited to be there. But we may not get the full benefit of what God had for us.

If we wait on God to direct our steps, it will all happen in His time and the results will be far better than us trying to do it on our own with our own knowledge.

Having our own plan is not necessarily a bad thing, and God does not look down on us for it. But anything that God has or wants for us would be much better, of course, and He would definitely have the way and purpose for it.

It’s up to us. We have to decide.

Sometimes we are already in God’s plan without even realizing it. Many times our heart is just wanting and longing to be close to Him, so we end up walking out His plan unknowingly, living in His blessings because of our obedience. Praise be to Him!

It’s not complicated at all. Don’t stress over it.

And when we are there, we will notice how fulfilling it can be as we flow in following His lead.

Our prayer is for us all to walk in His plan for our lives.
