Bible Verse of The Day – 2-6-14

Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

Most times we hear these verses being used with regard to sinners… people who don’t know God or who intentionally engage in actions that are contrary to God’s word.

Today, though, let’s take a look at it from a different angle. Instead of using it to point our finger at someone else, let’s use it on ourselves!

We all do stupid things. We make choices that are bad, whether intentionally or not. And the consequences of those choices will eventually come.

Sometimes they come very quickly, while other times they take a while to manifest. But there is one thing for sure; they will manifest!

So we all reap from the seeds we sow, whether we commit sins that are blatant or subtle. Anything that is contrary to what God directs us to do is sin. It’s just that sometimes we don’t really see it as being so wrong until later on down the road when we reap from what we have sown.

There are many areas that can fall into this “subtle” category. Bad financial choices, bad relationship choices, rebelling against authority, wasting the blessings God has given us, etc.

These are just a few. But hopefully they will help us see the meaning of today’s lesson.

Ask God to show you where you might be making poor choices and then ask Him to teach you how to do it differently. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-5-14

(Matthew 7:1 NKJV)  “Judge not, that you be not judged.

We know that no one is perfect, right? But yet at times we find ourselves frustrated and angry at those we are very close to and care deeply about, because of the wrong choices they are making.

Why do we feel like this? Two words, “WE CARE”!

When we see someone in trouble, we want to help. If they don’t let us help or won’t heed our advice it can cause us to become fearful, afraid of the consequences. This can cause us to panic and start worrying, which then can lead us into being judgmental toward them.

If we find ourselves in this position, we need to remind ourselves of this verse that tells us not to judge. If we don’t judge the person, we can be more of a help than we can be if we judge them. Remember, we all make mistakes and wrong choices at times.

Panicking will cause us to want to talk about the situation to others, hoping to find comfort or a solution to ease our worrying. Panic can also cause us to start looking at the person and judging them for choices they are making.

How do we help in a situation like this? What can we do instead of worrying, panicking or judging?  We take our concerns to God in prayer.

We show the person love in whatever way God leads us. Sometimes just being there for them as they go through things, without judging them, can be the best love and support anyone can ever show.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-4-13

Psalm 106:1 (NKJV) Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

There’s a very important phrase in the verse above; “His mercy endures forever”.

Do you know what that means for you and me?

That means that no matter what we’ve done or how many years we’ve been taking the wrong path, it’s never too late.

It’s never too late to turn to God and run toward Him instead of away from Him.

It’s never too late to make things right. And no matter what, God’s mercy toward us will never end.

It can’t! Because His word says so.

So if the enemy is hitting you with an onslaught of guilt and trying to convince you that it’s too late, or that what you’ve done is too much for God to forgive, think again.

His mercy endures forever. Run to Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-3-14

(Matthew 18:20 NKJV)  “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Togetherness brings Jesus closer.

Let us stand in the gap today for those in trouble.  We all know, whether it’s ourselves or someone else, every one of us needs Salvation.

Christ came to save the world; not just a little corner or piece of it, but the WHOLE world. He came to save that person that causes us to get irritated and want to run the other way when we see them.

He came to save the homeless person that may think they are worthless, the child that is always getting into trouble, the sister or brother that keeps purposely looking for a fight.

Christ came for that person that is suffering from hunger, and others who are being abused physically, mentally and sexually. We all are the apple of His eye and He wants us in His arms.

Let us gather together today, all over this world, praying and lifting them up, believing for His will to be done in their situation; for salvation, deliverance, healing and freedom to come in the name of Jesus Christ, to touch each heart today, drawing them closer to Him! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-1-14

1 John 2:28 (NKJV) And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

This should be the goal of each and every one of us.

As we walk through life on this earth, we should have one objective; to walk as Christ walked, so that when we are face to face with Him, we will not be ashamed.

This is God’s heart for each of us, that we would live out the example that we have been given in the life of Jesus.

It isn’t easy and we can never do it on our own, but with the help of The Holy Spirit, we can allow God to guide us and direct us, drawing us ever closer to Him.

We all slip and make mistakes at different times, but it’s no reason to get down on ourselves.

Let God pick you back up, brush the dirt off of you and set you back on His path for your life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-31-14

Proverbs 15:1 (NKJV) A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Sometimes people can do or say things to us that cause us to get pretty upset.

Our natural tendency is usually to let them have it right back, trying to show them that they’ve hurt us.

The only problem with that is that we’re answering fire with fire, which only makes a bigger fire.

But a soft answer will turn away wrath and bring some calm to a situation, instead of stirring things up.

Even more than that, a soft answer will, many times, cause the person who committed the offense to see themselves for what they did. Whereas a harsh answer would only cause them to become angry with you for the words you spoke.

Remember… love is always, always the best way.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-30-14

(Psalm 27:14 NKJV)  Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

How do we get strengthened? By waiting on the Lord and being of good courage.

Some of us are having a hard time waiting, and God is saying today “Wait on ME!!”

The worst thing we can do is try to make a move on our own, when God is saying to wait. God is faithful to let us know when.

How? By His Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help lead us. We don’t have to worry about missing it. If we stay close to God we will know.

Even though at times we may feel like we are going to cave in, we can’t let the pressure get to us. The enemy likes to put pressure on us and he will try to use anyone, and anything to do so.

How do we get rid of the enemy?

(James 4:7 NKJV) Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

How do we resist the devil? By rebuking him in the name of Jesus Christ, and proclaiming God’s word over us.

(Deuteronomy 28:13 NKJV)  “And the LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

Praise be to God, we are strengthened as we wait on Him! We are the head and not the tail, we are above and not beneath, as we follow Him!! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-29-14

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The world and everything in it can sure make us tired.

There is so much that pulls on us. Things can play tug-of-war with our minds. And people can really leave scars on our hearts.

Before we know it, we feel burdened and completely worn out.

I’m here to tell you today that Jesus came here for you. Jesus walked this earth, God with us, for each and every person reading this.

He left heaven for 33 years and took on human form, to show His love for us, and to set us free from sin, sickness, worry, disease, bondage, demonic oppression and so much more.

Come to Him. Lay your burdens at His feet. Leave them there. Let Him take them from you. Don’t ever pick them up again.

And let Him teach you how to rest. It’s a rest like nothing you have ever known before.

He’s extending His hand and offering this to you. Reach out and take it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-28-14

(John 5:19 NKJV)  Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

Notice how Jesus only did what He saw the Father do?

The things that God wants done, He will show us. This means we don’t just do whatever we want, whenever we want just because maybe we’ve seen others do it. If we’re not careful we can develop a “one way of doing it” attitude and fall into the trap of doing things a certain way just because it’s what we’ve seen before.

We need to learn to wait on God for His guidance and direction in matters. He may direct us about a specific timing. Or He may give us instructions about a certain tone to use, or it may be a boldness, or maybe a softness. It could take time praying it through, etc.

We just don’t know what a situation may involve. But, as we pray and walk closely with God, He will lead as to how handle the things He wants us to deal with. We should never just guess at it. We follow God, and He will lead us. If He’s not showing us anything, we shouldn’t just make it up as we go.

Jesus saw what the Father did, and He did things in like manner. We all need to follow His example if we want to see miracles, have breakthroughs and walk in VICTORY!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-27-14

Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing, absolutely nothing can keep us from the love of God.

Jesus walked the earth and went through great emotional and physical trauma to secure our eternal destiny. And after the severe punishment He took for you and for me, He rose from the dead, walked with men and women for a period of time and then ascended to heaven, to sit at the right hand of the Father!

Every single day we are tested and tormented by the enemy. He taunts us, condemns us with guilt, throws our past in our faces, tempts us with sin and whatever else he can do to try to knock us off the path that God has set before us.

And with all of this, let me assure you that he cannot separate us from the love of God.

So no matter what comes our way, no matter how badly we might mess up and no matter how badly we feel about our mistakes, we need to rest in knowing that none of what we do can ever separate us from God’s love, the love that He showed us through Jesus.

Rest today and know that your destiny is secure in Christ.
