Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-24

Psalm 42:11 (NKJV) 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.

To be cast down means to be saddened, depressed, or discouraged.

It happens even to believers.

When my dad passed on to Heaven and then my younger brother also passed shortly after, it brought me into a state I had never felt or been in before.

I experienced a lot of different emotions and I really did not know how to adjust.

Keeping my hope in Him is what helped me when I was down and out, when I was lost for words about why I felt the way I did. You can’t explain some things that you feel.

But God knows, and I found myself clinging to Him more and more for help, answers and strength.

As I continued to do my usual daily things, I still needed to pay attention to what I felt.

Many people suffer from things that have happened to them, and they totally ignore the sadness, depression, and/or discouragement that they feel as a result of these things.

And they never heal completely because of this.

We need to heal completely, or bits and pieces will still be there and they surface throughout different times of the year. A certain song, or being in certain place can trigger feelings that we might not even know are there.

The feelings come up all over again and we don’t know how to handle it, so we just push through it, hoping it will go away and get better on its own.

It can change our attitude quickly without us even recognizing it. In times when we should be the most joyful and thankful, we may not even feel like celebrating or have any feeling of happiness whatsoever.

Happiness is lost in the heaviness of the saddened heart.

Hiding away, or trying to drown the pain will not help this feeling go away. Only God can bring life back into that broken, saddened heart. Our hope in Him will bring healing and joy once again.

Let God help us come out of that place. Put one foot in front of the other.

God will lead us out of the state of sadness, and into happiness once again if we just stop hiding it and start lifting Him up in praise no matter how we are feeling at that moment! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-24

Psalm 56:3-4 (LSB) 3 When I am afraid, I will trust in You. 4 In God, whose word I praise, In God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?

Times of fear come for us all.

Events that cause fear are part of life.

Regardless of our heritage, our ethnicity, our spiritual understanding, our financial status, or our position in our career, we will face situations that cause us to be afraid.

What we do with that fear is entirely up to us. We choose whether it will rule over us, or we rule over it.

God created us with emotions. It is how we are wired. Our emotions are part of what makes us who we are. And we all handle them in our own unique way.

But it is important that we not allow our emotions to rule over us; to determine the direction our life takes.

Fear can be a big problem for some of us. It can cause us to make choices that we regret later in our lives if we fail to let the Holy Spirit help us navigate those situations that cause us to be fearful.

David faced many of these situations. He spent many years of his life looking over his shoulder, with his life at risk of being taken.

But because of his faith, he trusted God to protect him and calm his fears.

This is a perfect example for us to learn from and to follow.

What did David say about fear and the enemies who were determined to snuff him out?

He said, “I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?”

As it is with us. What can mere man do to us?

Our eternal destiny lies in the hands of God alone. What we face here during our earthly lifetimes will not change our eternal life.

We are here for but a moment. Our few years on earth pale in comparison to eternal life.

Let us not allow fear to rule over us. But let us trust in Him, the God who created us and breathed life into us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-26-24

Acts 14:19 (NKJV) 19 Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.

They thought he was dead, and they left him there.

Wow! Talk about giving everything to live and preach Christ.

Paul was stoned for his faith. I can’t even imagine what it would feel like for one stone to hit me hard, let alone many stones at once; enough to kill me. It’s beyond what I can even imagine.

We, as God’s children, may not get stoned physically like Paul. But some may stone us, symbolically-speaking, as we face persecution of varying kinds for our faith. And it crushes our heart.

Paul was left there, presumed dead.

But, when the disciples gathered around him, he got up and went with them. The next day he left with Barnabas to preach.

How? How can anyone get right up and go on working, especially after such a beating?

He was miraculously raised from the dead or healed for sure! Praise be to God! And it was not going to stop him from doing what He was called to do.

God had a plan for Paul, and no one was going to take him out before it was finished, no matter how badly they wanted him dead because of the words he spoke.

Don’t think for a moment that our enemy, the devil, does not want us dead.

He wants to beat us down, keep us there, and cause us to give up. And He uses people and situations to try to take us out.

Maybe someone today has been left for dead from the abuse of hurtful words or some other kind of painful situation.

Maybe someone had to deal with difficult conditions at work, or in school. Maybe our own family has stoned us to death with their actions toward us.

What if we told you that God wants to raise you up today, just like He did Paul and bring healing to you?

He wants to take you places and open doors for you to walk through. You just need to trust Him.

Your faith in Him needs to grow. Stop listening to the stone throwers. Stop trying to get back in with them so they can just keep abusing you.

You might have been left for dead; but you have a Father who loves you and will not turn His back on you. He has a plan and it’s not finished.

Rise up from where you have taken that last stone. Put one foot in front of the other, and don’t look back. God has places for you to go and things for you to do. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-25-24

Philippians 2:9 (NKJV) 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name…

Jesus was a common name when Mary gave birth to the Savior.

But God set Him apart from the others who shared that name by telling Mary that He would not only be called Jesus. He would be the One, the long-awaited Messiah that had been foretold by the prophets for many centuries.

He was the Christ. The anointed One.

Isaiah prophesied and proclaimed that He would also be called Immanuel, which means, God with us.

Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV) 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

His name is proclaimed throughout the word of God with many varied references.

John 1:1 refers to Him as The Word.

He is also known as The Lamb of God, the Son of God, the Lion of Judah, the Prince of Peace, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, Faithful and True, the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star, and other names not mentioned here.

But with all the various names applied to Him throughout the word of God, one fact stands above all others. His is the name above all names.

There is no other name like His.

The name of Jesus stands above all others. His name commands attention and carries ultimate authority.

His name is known throughout the earth. Whether someone is a believer or not, they know the name of our Jesus.

It is in His name that we find salvation, authority over demons, the power to heal, hope for eternity, and strength to face trials.

It is in His name that we trust, even with our souls.

Jesus. The name above all names!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-24-24

Galatians 4:4-5 (NKJV) 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

The fullness of time.

Just a thought; I wonder at what point God said, “It’s time to go down to earth. I have to save them”.

Was it because humanity was really bad off? Or was there some other reason for His timing?

I could never imagine being able to hear and see everything going on at all times, every second of every hour. But God does.

He is omniscient; all knowing.

I always say, I’m better off not knowing something. Because when I know something it eats at me. I can’t get it off my mind. So, I say, don’t tell me; I don’t want to know.

God’s not like that. He knows everything, hears everything, sees everything, all at once.

And it came to a point where it was time; we needed Him to come and live among us. Lord, help us!

He heard the pain and saw the sin. We needed salvation. We needed Him!

He sent Himself in the form of a seed via the Holy Spirit, placed in a virgin. He was born on the assigned day, at precisely the right time.

Matthew 1:18 (NKJV) 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

He lived until the age of approximately 33 years, and then they crucified Him. He set us free from our sins when He died on that cross.

Yes, what He had to suffer for us was sad. But, it was also beautiful, miraculous, powerful and so very meaningful.

He showed how deep His love for us is by coming here and dying on that cross for us.

Let us love Him back, by picking up our cross and following Him daily. Amen.

Luke 9:23 (NKJV) 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-23-24

Romans 3:10 (NKJV) 10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;

We serve a mighty God who loves us more than we will ever know or understand.

And because He loves us, He made a way for us to be righteous in His sight, despite our shortcomings and failures; the sin that perpetually separates us from Him.

Many people believe that righteous acts, good behavior, will make us righteous in the eyes of God.

Still others see religious traditions and rituals as their way of pleasing God and making themselves acceptable in His sight.

The religious leaders of Jesus’ time believed this.

They held themselves above the “common people” due to their piety, their eloquent speech, and their religious garb. They were forever looking down their noses at those around them.

Jesus knew this. He addressed them directly for it, and they became furious with Him for it.

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the prophet Isaiah spoke centuries before the birth of Christ, declaring that our own righteous acts were worthless before God; like filthy rags.

Bible historians agree that the rags Isaiah was alluding to were women’s menstrual cloths, indicating a state of being ritually unclean according to The Law.

Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV) 6 But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.

With all of that said, it is important for us to understand that our righteousness is found solely in Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Being a good person will not make us righteous before God. Kindness will not make us righteous before God. Abstaining from sin will not make us righteous before God.

In short, changing our behavior does not make us righteous. But righteousness in Christ should change our behavior.

Let us put away the rituals and traditions that define us and our walk with God. And let us understand that it is only the blood of Christ applied to us that make us righteous in His eyes.

Amen

My Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-24 – The Miraculous Birth of Christ

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the wonderful name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

We are fast approaching Christmas day, when we will celebrate the birth of Jesus, Immanuel, God with us.

As part of the celebration, we have recorded and published a new video where we discuss the miraculous birth of Christ.

This is a casual discussion that we hope will help everyone reflect on the incredible way that God orchestrated everything that led to the appointed day and time for God to come to earth in human form and be born through a virgin, defying all human understanding and logic.

We hope you enjoy it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all immensely, and we hope your Christmas celebration is your best ever, with Christ squarely at the center of it.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-21-24

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

There isn’t  anything God can’t help us past. In fact, He wants us to get past the things that are holding onto us.

Maybe we don’t think we are good enough to have Him help us. Maybe we haven’t lived right, or we have not obeyed Him in some areas of our lives.

But He is still there, waiting for us to let Him help us through the impossible.

You see, He isn’t like that person that walked out on us, that person that abused or hurt us. He isn’t like that one that got fed up with us and wouldn’t give us another chance.

He is our good Shepherd! He gave His life of us.

John 10:11 (NKJV) 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

He will go out of His way because He loves us. He wants us to lean on Him for everything, and trust Him to do beyond what we ever could imagine.

Dear God in Heaven, help us today to trust You to do the impossible. We thank you, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-24

Ecclesiastes 1:14 (NKJV) 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.

Life.

We live each day. We follow our routines. We do what is necessary. We go through the motions.

And we try to find things that we can enjoy or be enthusiastic about.

And for a while it works. We get excited and find happiness and joy in the things we do.

Decades pass by. And we eventually lose our enthusiasm for those things that once meant so much to us.

Sometimes we try desperately to hold onto things that we were once so passionate about. But the joy we once felt seems to be gone. These things no longer satisfy us or get us excited.

We are no longer passionate or zealous about them. And we wonder why.

This is more common than most people realize. As children of God, as we grow and mature, the things of the world begin to fall off, one by one. They no longer hold the place in our heart that they used to hold.

Our passion for God and His kingdom grows as we mature in Christ. In turn, our passion for worldly activities and possessions slowly loses its hold on us.

This does not mean that if we are a child of God, we must suddenly withdraw from everything we used to do.

But, over time, as God changes our heart, we will find ourselves letting go of things voluntarily.

So, if we are struggling to try to understand why earthly life holds less of a grip on us than it used to, this is typically why that happens.

There is nothing wrong with us. In fact, if we are losing our zeal for the things of this world, and our focus is more toward God, everything is right with us.

Our priorities have simply been transformed by the Holy Spirit working in us.

That, my friends, is exactly what the Holy Spirit does as we allow the blood of Christ to permeate our very being.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-24

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

If we want to live with a peaceful mind we must think about the right things. We can’t just let anything stick. Doing so will cause us to be in constant chaos; overwhelmed and irritated.

The things that we spend a lot of time pondering on will determine our attitude and our character.

If we are always thinking of the worst, guess what; we are going to be very negative in our thoughts and our conversations.

If we take in a lot of gossip, we will always be spending time thinking of things that really aren’t any of our concern or our business.

If our minds are caught in the wrong things, we will waste a lot of time doing nothing and feeling constant exhaustion before we even start our day.

Keeping our minds lined up with whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, and praiseworthy will help keep our mind at peace. And we will be able to focus more and produce much fruit.

May God bless us today with a peaceful mind. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-18-24

Matthew 13:22 (NKJV) 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

The cares of this world.

What an enormous concept that phrase encompasses!

Life is vastly unique for each of us. We all face different things. We live in varied situations where greatly different scenarios play out each day.

But there is one thing that we all have in common; our wrestling match with the cares of this world.

The cares that we wrestle with may be different for each of us, but they are truly the same at their core.

At each day’s close, we have spent our time chasing the cares of the world, or we have spent our time pursuing righteous endeavors and the Creator by whom we will all be judged at our life’s end.

Most of us tend to walk a fine line, balancing both of the above; cares of the world and righteous endeavors.

It is something many of us fail to recognize in our lives until God brings it to light.

But once it has been made known, we become acutely aware of it. And it will forever be lodged in our conscience as we navigate each day’s tasks, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our steps to make righteous choices and spend each day’s minutes as though they are precious, heavenly currency that God has invested into our lives.

Because, if we are to be honest, He has invested something much more precious than heavenly currency in us. He has invested the precious blood of Christ; that cleansing flow that takes away the sins of those who apply it.

Let us wage war on the cares of the world, making every effort by God’s Spirit to overcome them and defeat their war against us, that we not be like the seeds that fell among the thorns.

Let our lives be fruitful for His kingdom, living powerfully by the word of God and the Holy Spirit at work in us.
