Bible Verse of The Day – 2-14-26

Genesis 2:17 (NKJV) 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

The day Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from this tree, something took place.

They lost their connection with God; disobedience caused spiritual death.

Whenever I read this, it always makes me sad. Not that I think I would have done any better than the both of them, but I feel the disappointment in knowing that God had created all this for them and it was gone in one or two bites.

How quickly can we mess things up. It humbles me to no end.

Because of their disobedience, Adam and Eve brought this spiritual death upon themselves and the entire human race. And they were forced to leave that beautiful Garden that God had created.

But because of God’s love for humanity; He made a way for us to rebuild our relationship and be reconciled to Him, offering us spiritual life once again.

Jesus Christ is that way back to the Father. Through Him everything is made new and beautiful once again.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

As we surrender our hearts to His Son, Jesus Christ, we are made new. The relationship that once was, can be again, as we obey Him in the things He leads us to do.
