Bible Verse of The Day – 12-29-21

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Walking by faith is easy to envision and easy to talk about, until we actually have to do it.

But when the rubber meets the road, some things aren’t quite what we may have pictured in our minds.

Most of you are aware that God picked us up and moved us to a new land, 750 miles from where we had lived all our lives.

Our roots in New England were deep, having been there for decades. Everything was intimately familiar to us. And I mean everything!

As we made the move to our new homeland, we were excited, expectant and maybe even a little scared.

We were not scared because we lacked faith. We were not scared of the unknown. But we were scared because we didn’t know how we would react to such a change.

The place God moved us to was not a place we chose. He chose it for us. And because it was His choice for us, we didn’t know what to expect.

As we made the 12 1/2 hour drive to our new location, everything went flawlessly. The drive was peaceful and uneventful, as we had prayed and asked God for.

But a few days later, as we moved into our new home and began to work toward settling in, we must admit that there were moments when we felt like the rug had been pulled from under us as we tried to find something familiar to grab hold of.

Everything felt like a whirlwind as we tried to find a firm foothold in the natural. Nothing was familiar. Even trying to find everyday things in the house was confusing and even frustrating.

But God is faithful, even in these types of situations. And as I literally asked Him to give me something even a little familiar to grab hold of, He reassured me that everything would be fine. And it was.

Now, just a day later, I have total peace. Not because everything suddenly fell into place. But because I recognized my fragility as a human and surrendered it to Him.

This is where the power comes in the lives of believers; not in being spiritual superheroes, but in being completely surrendered to Him and being able to recognize our weaknesses and in bowing before Him where we lay them at His feet.

Go to Him. Lay those things that we wrestle with at His feet. And surrender them to Him.

He will walk us through those moments (or seasons) of fear, apprehension and frailty. And He will replace all of those things that trouble us with His peace as we do so.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-10-21 – And It Will Move

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

The disciples of Jesus had failed at casting a demon out of someone, so they asked Him why.

Jesus answered them. But that answer wasn’t quite what they had expected.

In our newest video, And It Will Move, we teach about what Jesus said to them, and why it’s important to us, even now, thousands of years later.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to give this one a watch.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-31-21

Matthew 9:28-29 (NKJV) 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.”

These two blind men needed healing. Jesus just asked a simple, but very profound question; “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”

If Jesus were to ask us today regarding our own situation, what would be our answer?

They could have said, “well, let’s see how it goes and then we will answer you.”

No. These men knew He was able. Their faith in Jesus was at the point of receiving their healing. There was no doubt about it.

Are we believing by mouth alone? Are we mimicking someone else’s words that we’ve heard?

Or do we believe because the faith we have in our own heart knows that He is able?

You see, there are no coat-riding healings with Jesus. We have to have our own faith.

There may be times when our faith gets combined with the faith of others to get certain results. But if it’s for us, or our situation, we have to start the process by having faith at least the size of a mustard seed.

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

This is a very important question, and only we can answer it.

Many people can and will fake it. They know the talk.

They know how to put their hands up and praise God. They know the church lingo. But, none of that will work to get answers, deliverance, salvation, etc.

It’s according to our faith. Let it be done.

We must believe He is able to do what we are asking Him to do.

If we need God’s help to have more faith, ask Him and He will help us in our unbelief. But, don’t try to fake it. That won’t get us anywhere but disappointed. And it will turn us away from Him, thinking He doesn’t answer our prayers.

Mark 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

He will help us have the faith we need when we acknowledge that we need His help and we ask Him for it.

Have faith so He can deliver! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-24-21

Matthew 9:22 (NKJV) 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

Jesus was following a man that had just asked Him to come and lay His hands on his daughter that had just died, so that she may live.

On His way to do so, along came a woman that had suffered a flow of blood for 12 years. She knew in her heart and said to herself, “if I could only touch HIs garment I would be made well”.

I love how Jesus said, “be of good cheer, daughter, your faith has made you well”.

Hallelujah and praises to His awesome name!! He called her daughter.

What a beautiful moment that must have been for her. I can’t even imagine what I would have done. But I can feel the overwhelming awesomeness of a little bit of what she might have felt.

Then, for her to receive her healing, after 12 years of dealing with her illness, wow, what a glorious day it was for her!

The thing that stood out to me the most was that He didn’t say, “because you touched My garment you have been made well”. He didn’t say, “because you are standing next to Me you have been made well”.

He said, “your FAITH has made you well!”

What I’m saying is that it is crucial for us to understand that no matter where we are today, or what we are going through or dealing with, it is by our faith we will be made whole.

Maybe we need a physical touch. Maybe our children or our marriage need healing. Maybe our finances need help. There are so many areas of our lives that might need to be “made whole”.

Whatever we are dealing with, say it with me, “by our FAITH we will be made well”!!

Thank you, Lord! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-2-21

John 1:18 (NKJV) 18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

No one has seen God.

This is a pretty black and white statement made by John.

And yet, in spite of no one ever seeing God, we have faith in Him.

We trust Him to forgive us, sustain us and save us.

Why?

Because He is evident in everything.

We see tangible evidence of Him in the world around us.

We feel the wind. We smell the salt air at the ocean shore. We hear the birds. We see the clouds and feel the rain on our faces. We feel the beating of our heart. We watch our chests rise and fall as we breathe in and out.

More importantly, we understand the feeling of freedom we experience after having our sins forgiven.

We know what it means to have our poor choices (sins) of the past cleansed and removed from us.

We understand what it means to be a Child of the most-high God through the blood of Jesus Christ.

We don’t need to see God. He makes Himself known to us in so many different ways.

And the mystery of God, and who He is, holds a certain level of awe and intrigue for many people.

Personally, I love God despite never seeing Him. I believe that not seeing Him is part of how He works and moves.

He requires that we have faith to follow Him.

In fact, we need to have faith to please Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Follow God. Pursue Him. Love Him. But don’t ever worry about not seeing Him face to face.

He is who He is. And who He is is more than sufficient.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-25-20

Galatians 4:28 (NKJV) 28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.

As followers of Christ, we are children of promise.

We are heirs of the promises made to Abraham.

Why? Because we are spiritual heirs of Abraham.

Abraham had a special relationship with God. He believed God and had faith in Him in a time period long before Moses had come along.

Abraham exhibited that inward faith through his outward actions, by obeying God when he was told to do something or holding fast when God made him a promise.

Abraham trusted God!

It was that faith and trust that led him to receive Isaac, his son of promise, at the age of 100 years, through his wife, Sarah, who was also well beyond child-bearing years and who had been barren her entire life.

Because Abraham believed and trusted God, it was credited to him as righteousness. And this happened long before righteousness by faith was even understood by man.

Eventually, through Moses, The Law came along.

Man made the mistaken assumption that following The Law made them righteous. The Law, though, was actually written to show man their sinful state, and push them toward God in a way that would bring repentance, not haughty self-righteousness by way of pride for following the law religiously.

Thankfully, Jesus fulfilled The Law, bringing us back around to righteousness through faith.

So, as we walk out this life as believers, know that, as Abraham, we don’t live by what we see. We live by what God tells us, shows us and promises us.

It’s not always an easy walk. But as we do it, our faith and trust in God grows, drawing us closer and closer to Him.

Genesis 15:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-18-20

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Our sight is important to us. It allows us to see what’s around us; what’s happening, what’s ahead of us, and what stands in our way.

Our sight, though, is limited. Our eyes work only on natural principles. They see what is tangible. They cannot see what is spiritual.

There can be seasons in our lives when we struggle to see beyond the darkness that surrounds us. Certain situations and events can make us feel lost, hopeless and like we are wandering without vision. It can happen to all of us.

This is when we have to reach out and walk by faith, not by what we see in the natural.

This requires that we push back the emotions that cause us to become fearful, and teach ourselves to trust in God, even when we feel like we are blind and don’t even know where to put our feet, as we struggle to walk forward.

Our spirit needs to be able to take charge, overriding our tendency to rely on common sense and logic and, instead, lean in and listen for what His spirit is telling our spirit to do.

Maybe we find that difficult. Maybe at this point in our lives we are struggling just to push back unbelief. Or maybe we just need something we can cling to, to get us to take our next step.

This is when we need to look around us. We might not see the immediate answer to our problems, but we can see the sun, stars and the beauty of creation, to remind us of Who it is that our faith and trust is in.

And when we do this, and we get that glimpse of God’s incredible power and might, it helps us to shake off the doubt and unbelief and move forward, even if it might only be one inch at a time.

Forward motion is forward motion, regardless of the speed or the increments by which we move.

Don’t look back. Look ahead. And look up to the One who has the power to pick us up even when we are at our weakest, and get us moving again.

He is faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-16-20

Jude 1:3 (NKJV) 3 Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

Contend earnestly for the faith.

Those words really stood out to me as I read this verse. Why? Because they stress the importance of us taking action and being diligent in our walk with God.

There are many things that will come and do their best to derail our faith. The methods used will be vast and diverse. And most of them will be subtle, requiring us to be sharp and discerning so as to recognize them for what they are quickly.

This can apply to false teachings, distractions and other things that come by way of others.

It can also apply to apathy, laziness, indifference and other things that can come by way of our own choices and decisions.

As believers, it’s important that we take responsibility for the condition of our walk with God. Nobody can walk this walk for us.

This is why we are told to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

Philippians 2:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

This isn’t to say that we need to live in fear, but more that we need to take seriously our relationship with the One who not only created us, but saw fit to come to earth in human form and give His life for us.

Remember, God is faithful and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-13-20

Matthew 14:29-30 (NKJV) 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Are we looking at things all wrong?

When we face hard times, we can’t look at it as “poor me. I’m all done and washed up. I’m going to lose everything. I’ve failed”.

We have to change the way we see things. Why do we get scared when an opportunity comes and we need Christ to help us? Is it because we don’t like not knowing how it will all play out?

Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on water. Now, think about that. Who walks on water? It’s an impossible thing to do, because as soon as you step out onto it, you sink. Gravity pulls you down Immediately.

But with Jesus, He makes what is known to be impossible, to become possible through our faith in Him.

We all have that chance to step out of the boat from time to time.

When we are faced with hard and impossible situations, it is a great opportunity to see where we stand in our faith. It’s a great opportunity for God to help us and show us how He can make the impossible be possible.

If we are facing an impossible situation, there may be a step we need to take, just like Peter. And then we need to hold our faith after we do it.

Don’t start analyzing things, or we will lose it.

Keep our eyes and ears on Christ. He will help us through it all the way if our faith is in Him and we follow.

Take this opportunity and enjoy seeing the impossible become possible! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-6-20

Luke 17:5 (NKJV) 5 And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

In the verse above, the Apostles asked Jesus for more faith so they could walk out the things He was speaking to them about.

Jesus looked at them and flat out ignored their request. Why?

Because, as He told them in the next verse, they didn’t need more faith! They just needed to exercise the faith they already had.

Jesus went on to tell them that if they had faith even as small as a mustard seed that they could do great things!

Luke 17:6 (NKJV) 6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

You see, so many of us ask God to give us more faith. But it’s not more faith that we need. We need to learn to walk in the faith that God has given us. We need to grow closer to God so that the faith He has given us will grow stronger in Him.

Some might go so far as to say that they have no faith. But that’s a misconception or a lack of understanding on their part, because the word of God tells us that we have each been given a “measure of faith”.

Romans 12:3 (NKJV) 3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

This means that not a single one of us lacks faith. We just might not know how to use that faith yet. But as we press in to God, He will teach us and show us, as He leads us to do the things He wants us to do.

Remember Peter, who actually walked on the water? He did that with the measure of faith that he had been given, not with some massive burst of faith that was suddenly given to him.

He simply had to obey what Jesus told him to do when He called him to step out of the boat onto the water.

At that split second, he was probably experiencing many things, but he ignored any doubts he had and walked on the water. It was only when he began to think about what he was doing that he began to sink.

So it is with us. It’s important that we get so close to God that when He speaks, we don’t hesitate or try to figure it out in our heads. We just simply listen and then do what He asks of us.

That doesn’t happen overnight. But as we grow closer to Him, it happens a little at a time.

And before we know it, we will be stretching and growing our “measure of faith”, doing the things that God asks us to do with no hesitation at all.
