Category: Glorifying God

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-11-26

Psalm 84:11 (NKJV) 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly.

God is good!

The goodness of God is better than anything else on this earth. His favor is with His children, and if we obey Him we will walk in His grace and glory!

It’s not always easy to obey God’s leading. Sometimes it can be very uncomfortable around certain people and crowds.

But as we stand firm and do what is upright, even in the face of those who will laugh and make fun of us, God will be glorified!

Romans 1:16 (NKJV) 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

We don’t realize the impression we leave on someone who is watching us when we do what is right vs. whatever everyone else is doing.

It may be the only right thing that a person sees in their lifetime that catches their attention and causes them to want to change from the way they have been living.

We just never know what we may unwittingly be doing when we are obeying God and doing what is upright.

Keep up the good work. And know that His favor is with you for life, and joy will come in the morning!

Psalm 30:5 (NKJV) 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-15-25

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Good works; when we are struggling!

Good works; when we are tired!

Good works; when things aren’t going so well, on the job, at home, in our relationship!

It’s in those moments that “good works” stand out the most.

Are we ready for the challenge?

Are we ready to show good works no matter what we may be facing? Can we be steady, even in times of difficulty?

We will give it our all and then some, because God is our strength! He is our Rock!

He is right here with us to produce such a “LIGHT” that men will see and give Him Glory!

Are you in a place today that causes you to say, “I don’t have it in me, I’m dealing with my own situation and the light in me seems dim?”

Today is your day to step out in faith and let God move through you with supernatural strength. You will be that city on a hill so all those around you can see Him.

Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

Push through it all today and shine bright!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-28-24

Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

David wrote many of the most-well-known Psalms while crying out to God in times of great desperation.

The words above are a perfect example of that. And the 23rd Psalm is likely the most well-known of all words in the Old Testament.

Why is that?

What is it about Psalm 23 that makes it so attractive to people?

Why is this group of verses so often quoted, even at the funerals of people who were clearly not believers?

Because the words of the 23rd Psalm give hope to those who hear them.

Many of the words that David penned give great hope and encouragement.

Because of the things David faced, he cried out earnestly and with great conviction, begging God to help him and show His favor over his life amid devastating attacks.

David’s words were heartfelt and sincere. He knew His God and understood His faithfulness, no matter what he faced in life.

And that understanding was projected in the words he wrote.

David had a level of trust in God that few know in their lifetimes.

He was not without flaws. He did some things that God was not pleased with at different times.

But in the end, he lived a life that put God first in just about every choice he made, and he did his best to make sure others knew that he served God above all others.

Let each of us also learn to have convictions as strong as David’s, that we might also glorify God in a way that people will remember long after we are gone.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-18

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

One of the most important things we can learn to remember as a believer is that we are not our own.

We were bought at a price. And that price was very high. That price was paid by God, through the death of Jesus.

In return, God asks that we glorify Him in our bodies. This can take on many different shapes throughout our lives.

This means that, overall, our lives should exemplify Him in every way possible.

Exemplifying Him can take on many different forms for each of us. But no matter who we are, it means that our lives point to Him as our Lord above all else.

Sometimes it might mean being a helping hand to someone in need. Other times it may mean showing someone love who is feeling down and out. Or it might be that we smile and encourage someone who is depressed or alone.

There are many, many different ways we can glorify God in our bodies. We may end up doing some things in ways that we would never have thought of. But God can use us in an unlimited number of ways, as long as we keep ourselves open and available for Him.

Last, but not least, we can glorify Him in our bodies by being careful to take care of ourselves. He has blessed us with a physical body that is wonderfully created. So, as He asks us to glorify Him, let’s be sure to keep ourselves healthy so we can be available as He has need of us.
