Bible Verse of The Day – 1-7-22

Isaiah 40:28-29 (NKJV) 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Sometimes the things we face in life, or even the things we spend time thinking about, can make us feel weak. They pull on us and make us weary from the thinking.

This is a normal part of being human. We are flesh and bone, with weaknesses and frailties.

If we try to bear everything that we come up against, it won’t be long before we’re completely worn down and ready to give up, throwing in the towel and surrendering to whatever it is that we are battling against.

Thankfully we don’t have to bear these things alone. God wants to help us with them. He wants us to learn to bring these things to Him and give them to Him instead of trying to pretend that we’re superhuman and invincible.

None of us is invincible; not a single one.

Jesus was our example. Despite His ability to heal the sick, deliver from demons and raise the dead, He too was frail in His humanity. He grew tired at times.

But the difference was that He knew when to pull away, spend time with the Father, and give His burdens to Him. It was this that gave Him the strength to face everything that He needed to face.

And by doing so, He overcame the enemy and the schemes that were being carried out against Him.

It’s time for us to learn from Jesus, following His lead, making sure we pull away and spend time with the Father, casting our cares upon Him.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-29-20

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

When someone we know is struggling, it’s so important that we take it to God. We stand with them in prayer, but we leave it there with Him.

This is a nice little reminder that we all need from time to time.

I have such a hard time with this one. It’s so very hard for me to separate my emotions from the things I hear, and leave them at the cross with Jesus, for Him to pick up and carry.

I like how it was Peter who told us to “cast”. Peter was a fisherman in his day, and he knew what it meant to cast.

He used to cast those ole nets off the side of his boat. And most likely he didn’t throw them into the water gingerly or haphazardly. He threw them over with purpose, hoping for a good haul because that was his livelihood; his bread and butter.

The definition for “cast” says this: throw forcefully in a specified direction.

Well, we know the direction we need to throw our cares. There’s no doubt; at the feet of Jesus. For the scriptures says, He cares for us!

Let’s be sure to get this straight. What do we throw off? Our cares.

Does it specify a limit as to what type of cares or how many cares? Nope. Just whatever is concerning us or emotionally exhausting us.

Cast whatever is eating up our thoughts today. Whatever is causing us to be sorrowful or depressed. Whatever is making us feel helpless or hopeless.

We are going to take them all and throw them with purpose at Jesus’ feet. Then, get up and walk away with confidence that He’s got it.

Get some rest now. Heal from that emotional exhaustion and be free. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We love you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-27-20

Matthew 11:30 (NKJV) 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

When God deals with something on the inside of us, He removes it. It’s gone.

It doesn’t mean we don’t remember what happened. It just means that He makes it so we don’t carry the burden of it any longer. He makes it easy on us.

Are we letting Him completely deal with our stuff? Or are we pretending?

We do that sometimes. We give it over with our words, but in our heart we don’t let it fully go.

Let’s break it down.

One day when we are tired, we say, “Lord take this from me and deal with it accordingly. I can’t anymore”.

Then, on another occasion, maybe we are feeling a little better, little stronger, or maybe a little feistier, so we try and “help” Him move a little quicker by sticking our noses in and doing it our way.

What is that?

That is saying, “Lord, I gave it to you on Sunday, but Monday I’m taking it back”. That is saying, “Lord You are not moving fast enough for me”. That is saying, “Lord I don’t really trust that You are going to deal with it because you have more important things on Your plate, so maybe I need to tend to it myself”.

When God deals with something, it’s over for good. But when we try to deal with it, we are back and forth with our emotions. It’s not complete. There will always be fragments in there that we missed.

Let Him have the whole thing and watch how He gets rid of it for good. Carry only what He wants us to carry. Walk and live light.

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Many of us have heard the scripture that tells us to cast our cares onto God. But we don’t always understand the meaning of this.

In today’s video, Casting Your Cares, we discuss this, and what it means to us, as believers.

As with most of our videos, this was completely unscripted, and it took on some interesting directions as we talked.

There is something for everyone in this one, so we hope you will take a few minutes and watch it.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-2-19

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Today, we just want you to know that you mean the world to Papa. He cares so much for your life!

You may be feeling low, dejected or depressed. Maybe you are feeling you just can’t get things right and you don’t know what to do.

It may seem like everything you touch doesn’t turn out the way you want it to. You may have made many mistakes along the way, some small and some big. However, He loves you more than you can imagine.

Maybe you feel He is nowhere around and the quietness is killing you. Don’t turn your back on Him. He is still there.

In that stillness, God is fixing things. He is turning things. He is working on the very things that will change the direction that we need.

Rest in Him as He works everything out. Be careful to listen for His voice and follow His leading.

Psalm 36:5 (NKJV) 5 Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-18

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

This time of year can feel very busy and stressful for some people. Many may be missing a loved one, and for some people they may be feeling lonely, with no one to share the holidays with.

We know that it’s a hard time for you and we want you to know that God knows what you are going through, and how you feel at this very moment, more than anyone.

He knows the smile you put on your face when others are around, but deep down you ache and are sad inside.

Know that He cares for you. He sees you in those moments when you feel so alone. He is there, holding you tightly. Let Him bring peace to you this season. Rest in Him, cry on His shoulder, talk to Him and let out how you feel.

He truly does care for you and what you are going through.

We love you and our prayers are with you.

Bible verse of The Day – 11-1-16

Matthew 28:2 (NKJV) 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

The earth shook, an angel of God descended and the stone was rolled away.

What an incredible way for God to bring light and victory into what looked like a dark, dismal situation of defeat!

When Jesus rose and emerged from the grave, every demon in hell took notice. Even Satan himself couldn’t ignore this. He thought he had won when Jesus breathed His last breath. But in the end, he was the one who was defeated.

And just as Jesus rose from the grave, bringing victory over death, that victory is there for each and every one of us, too. If our faith and trust are in Jesus, we will also have victory over death.

But we can also have victory in our lives right here on earth! We don’t have to live defeated lives, burdened down with sin, shame or the cares of this world. We don’t have to spend every waking minute stressed by the situations we’re facing.

“How?”, you may ask. How can we have victory when there is so much happening. How can we have victory when it feels like the whole world is falling down around us? How can we have victory when it looks like evil is abounding?

By giving it to God and letting Him take care of it. Let Him handle it. Let Him bear the burdens that are trying so hard to weigh us down.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

No, this won’t make our problems disappear instantly. And it won’t necessarily hand us instant solutions to the troubles we’re facing. But it will bring us peace, if we let it.

The key is that we have to let it. We have to make a choice to take our worries, fears and even our doubts and give them to Him. Is this easy to do? Not always. Sometimes it’s downright difficult, because it means we have to let go and relinquish control to Someone we can’t even see.

But even if we don’t let go, we still never have control over it anyway. We just think we do! Because if we did have control, the situation wouldn’t be bothering us so much to begin with.

So we encourage you today to surrender to Him and give Him your concerns and troubles. Lay them down and surrender them once and for all.

They are not yours to carry.

Bible verse of The Day – 7-8-16

Psalm 33:12 (NKJV) 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Have we chosen God to be our Lord today?

Do we let Him be our everything in our good times and bad? Do we cast our cares and burdens at His feet and trust Him to guide us through? Are our decisions based on what He wants for us versus what we desire?

These are the kinds of things we will find that God wants from us, the closer we come to Him.

One thing we have noticed is that the more we let God help us and move us toward the things He wants us to do, the more we find ourselves learning to let go and rest in our thoughts, continuing to walk in His peace.

If you’re in a place today where you are feeling unsure about what is in the future for you, because there are so many changes hitting at once, don’t get scared and try to MAKE something happen out of fear.

Know that God has a plan, and remind yourself what the scripture says:

Psalm 18:30 (NKJV) 30 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

He’s there working on your behalf.

Our prayers are with you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-23-16

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

It’s a wonderful blessing to have a Savior that we can go to and share our cares with.

There are times when we try to talk to friends or family, etc., about our cares, and they simply don’t get it or they don’t understand how we feel. Sometimes they may not even let us finish what we want to say before they start to give us their opinion or tell us what we need to do or not do.

Jesus will listen. He cares about what we have to say. He wants to know how we feel about things and He wants to help us in a way that is good for us. He listens and He understands.

If we are carrying a heavy load today, we need to take some time, quiet time, get with Jesus and cast our cares upon Him.
