Bible Verse of The Day – 4-25-18

Romans 8:24-25 (NKJV) 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

Hope. It’s what our walk with God is based on. None of us has ever seen God. Yet we pursue Him and follow Him.

We trust that He has our eternal destiny in His hands. Why? Because His word says so.

Some may ask why we believe in Someone that we can’t see. But that question contains its own answer.

If we were able to see God, there would be no need for hope or faith. Once something is seen, hope and faith are no longer necessary.

But we know that our hope is not in vain. Although we may not be able to see God face to face, He reveals Himself in many other ways. Creation demands a Creator.

The sights that we take in each and every day are a confirmation for the hope that we have.

The new life that enters the world when a new baby is born is proof for the hope we have.

The sun rising and setting each day, and the planets that surround us are evidence for the hope we have.

The birds of the air and the fish of the sea are just a tiny piece of the foundation for our hope.

And there is so much more that we could say. But it’s not necessary. Because He speaks for Himself in so many ways.

So, we wait eagerly and with perseverance for the hope that our faith is built upon, knowing that one day we will stand before Him, taking in the glory of His presence, in all of its awe and wonder.

Lamentations 3:24 (NKJV) 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-15-18

Psalm 71:5 (NKJV) 5 For You are my hope, O Lord GOD; You are my trust from my youth.

Our relationship with God gives us hope.

We serve a Creator who wants only the very best for us.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Sometimes we may not feel like there is any hope, especially when things just seem to go wrong again and again.

But, rest assured that this is just life and the things that happen to all of us from time to time.

As we have mentioned many times in the past, seasons come and go. And each season offers unique opportunities as well as unique challenges. It’s not the fact that challenges come that determines who we are. It’s how we handle them that matters.

It’s always easy to lay down and have ourselves a little pity party. But that will never help us or change anything for the better. It will do quite the opposite.

So, we say to you today, rise up! Shake off the sorrow and the discouragement. Look your challenges square in the face and claim the victory that Jesus has won for us on the cross.

Rebuke the devil, in the name of Jesus, and push forward.

Romans 15:13 (NKJV) 13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-18-17

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus walked the earth, sinless. He knew no sin.

This is something that’s hard for our minds to comprehend. We have a hard time wrapping our heads around the fact that a man, a human being, could live for 33 years and not sin. Not even once.

But it is what was required of Him. It was necessary. It was His purpose to come to earth and live a sinless life.

Why?

Because we needed redemption. We needed someone to build a bridge between us and a holy God, whom we had been separated from by our own transgressions. We needed someone who could blot out our own sins and make us righteous, in spite of ourselves.

Jesus was that One. He came and lived. And He died, for you and for me, to redeem us.

His lack of sin proves our need for Him. Without Him we would be hopeless and lost, forever condemned.

But with Him, we have hope!

Titus summed it very well in these verses:

Titus 2:11-14 (NKJV) 11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

We have hope, in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-12-17

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We have an enemy. He has one purpose; to steal, kill and destroy.

And who does he want to steal from, kill and destroy? Us. You and me.

This is evident each and every day that we live and breathe. We see death and destruction all around us. Sometimes it affects us directly, up close and personal. Other times we just see it from a distance, as it wreaks havoc with those around us or people we don’t know.

And, yes, it can be scary and intimidating sometimes.

But, God has given us hope and a reason to rejoice!

And that reason has a name; Jesus Christ.

Jesus came so that we may have abundant life in Him! He has defeated the enemy once and for all.

Revelation 1:18 (NKJV) 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

No matter what things look like on the surface, we need to always remember that God is still in control. He is still on the throne.

And even in the midst of our trials and hard times, our joy and happiness can still prevail. Why? Because we have a Savior who is alive, even after being crucified and laid in the grave.

More than that, we can have abundant life in Him! Our lives don’t have to be mundane and worrisome. We don’t have to rise up each morning dreading the day ahead of us.

Rise up each morning knowing that we have victory in Jesus. And when the enemy whispers in your ear, telling you that you are defeated and hopeless, don’t buy the lie.

Stand up tall and rebuke his filthy lies, in the name of Jesus. Victory and abundance in Jesus are yours! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-16

Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Hope. It’s what our walk with God is based on. It’s what our eternity is based on. Without hope, our lives are pretty pointless. But with hope, our lives are meaningful, bountiful and beautiful!

Sometimes the situations we face can make us feel hopeless. Believe us when we tell you that we know from experience. We have been there.

But when we hold fast to our hope, and to the God and Father who gives us that hope, we come through those trying times with new faith, new hope and a bigger trust in God.

Lamentations 3:24 (NKJV) 24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”

God is calling us to trust Him in everything. He wants us to have such hope and faith in Him that it permeates every aspect of our lives.

Does that mean that we will live like Christian superheroes, never making mistakes or never having a weak moment? Nope!

But it means that we will look to Him in everything that we do, every choice we have to make and every situation that we encounter.

Why? Because we understand that He is the one who gives us hope; that incredible hope that gives our lives meaning and gives our souls reassurance that somehow everything will work out, despite what our eyes see in the natural.

And as we continue to hold onto that hope, our lives will be transformed, one day at a time, so that this hope we speak of becomes the very foundation on which our lives are built.
