Bible Verse of The Day – 3-12-16

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

Husbands love your wives.

I’d like to take a moment to speak to the married men out there today. If you are a man who is engaged to be married, please read this carefully also.

Our wives are precious. They are a blessing and a gift from God, placed in our lives to share our time with here on earth.

She is not an object or a servant, to be bossed around or constantly told what to do or how to do it.

She is not our personal waitress, designed to be at our beck and call whenever we want something.

Women were created from Adam’s rib and are to be a part of us, to be a helper, standing by our side, but not a slave who walks behind us.

They are not to be belittled or treated as less than we are. We should encourage our wives and lift them up, so they know how much they mean to us.

As a husband and wife develop their relationship, they become one in many different ways.

Genesis 2:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Our wife is our partner for life, in everything we do. She deserves to be treated as such.

She deserves our respect, our honor, our love and our affection.

Husbands, love your wives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-15

Ephesians 5:33 (NKJV) 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Love and respect are very important in a marriage.

We all have our days when we mess up. We may not say the right thing. We may not do the right thing. We may forget things at times and run out of patience with each other. But always remember, it is never too late to say we are sorry.

This goes for both, husbands and wives. If we continue to love the way God has shown us how to love, respect and honor will follow.

It doesn’t mean we have to be perfect at it. It’s not always easy knowing what the other person’s needs are. But it does mean we need to give our all in trying. And what we don’t know how to do, we need to ask God for help with it.

James 1:5 (NKJV) 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Marriages today are struggling, fighting for time to spend with each other. It seems that everything else wins, but our time together.

It’s important to LOVE and respect each other, and the only way we can do this is to spend time together; Quality time.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-6-15

Ephesians 5:33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

When we fall in love with someone and we marry them, a team effort begins. Because we are about to learn things that we didn’t know about them before.

Sometimes there are little things about each other that can drive us crazy. When my husband and I were first married, he would get upset because I didn’t rinse the sink out after I got done brushing my teeth. I just didn’t think of it. No biggie, right?

I was 18 and he was 20. We were very young, but also very in love.

But, he would ask me to rinse it out and I didn’t give it too much thought, other than, “why should he get upset about that? He can just wipe it out if it bothers him!”

As time went by, he would just get very irritated about it. So one day he brought it up again and we argued over it for a bit.

How silly, right?

No. Not so silly. These are the things that show us whether or not we are listening and hearing each other. These things are the very things we have to work together on.

Even though it was small and insignificant to me, it bothered him. I needed to respect him and change up my habit, showing him that I care.

We need to listen to our spouse. Hear those little things that they say. It could make all the difference in our marriage.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-15

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

Love your wife as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her.

That’s a pretty tall order, but it’s not a request or a question. It’s a command from God’s word.

And if God has told us to do it, then we need to do it!

What’s awesome in this, though, is that God has equipped us to do this by giving us His spirit. We have not been left to do it on our own power or by our own wisdom.

Wives need the love and support of a strong, compassionate, loving, understanding husband. It’s how God wired them.

And He wired us to be that man that they need.

So I urge husbands who might be reading this today, to love your wife as Christ loved the church. Treat her with respect, not with contempt or constant belittling.

She may not be perfect, but the last time I checked, neither are we. And if God has told us to love them as Christ loved the church, then we need to do just that!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-5-15

Genesis 2:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

They shall become one flesh.

This is a profound statement and a concept that no human mind can truly understand. That two unique individuals could become one isn’t something that’s easy to understand.

But with God, things that seem contrary to our understanding are commonplace. He takes what seems illogical and impossible and makes them perfect.

God created man and woman to be together, to love and care for each other. He created man and woman to nurture each other and to help each other.

A man by himself is not complete.

A woman by herself is not complete.

But a man and woman together, with God leading them, can become complete.

Marriage is not an easy journey. It takes hard work on both parts. But when the couple puts God first, loves Him with all their hearts and endeavors to please Him in all they do, the problems they encounter in their relationship will be minimal.

So let’s be sure that we are putting God first in everything. As we do this as a husband and wife, and we live our lives to please God, we will be creating an atmosphere that will allow our marriage to grow and flourish.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-12-15

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

I love my wife.

As a man of God, I’ve learned a lot over the years as to what it means to be a godly husband.

God comes first in everything. And to the world, that might seem a bit twisted, since in the natural way of thinking, they might wonder why my wife doesn’t come first.

But here’s the deal. As we love God more, and we put God first, He will teach us how to love our spouse even more. So the end result of loving God and putting Him first is that we ultimately end up loving our spouse more!

And I will be the first to admit that I still make mistakes. Heck, if I didn’t, it would probably mean that I was already dead and living in a glorified body! Just kidding 🙂

But I can honestly say that God has taught me to love her more as each day goes by.

So, with that said, I’d like to share with everyone that today, March 12, 2015, we are celebrating our 32nd wedding anniversary!

Please help me in celebrating by replying to this message and wishing Pastor Ellie a happy anniversary and letting her know how much she is loved! I want to make the day really special for her 🙂

And she has no idea that I’m doing this, so she will be surprised!

God bless each and every one of you and may He bless your marriage and draw you closer to Himself, in turn, drawing you closer to each other.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-10-14

Ephesians 5:28 (NKJV) 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.

Making time for our spouse, and treating them with respect and love is important. Sure, they can have a bad day sometimes. Don’t we all? They still need love and affection, and not to be ignored.

Make every day count. Try to plan quality time with them. It could be as simple as sitting together and reading a book. Or cuddle up and watch a good show. Maybe even eat a nice candle lit dinner, etc.

Make sure we keep the flame burning on the candle of our marriage. Switch things up now and then and do something different, something out of the ordinary.

One of the common things going around nowadays with married couples is that they “fell out of love”. Well, maybe what they are trying to say is not so much they don’t love the other person but that they are BORED with the same ole same ole stuff and want some excitement!

Keep it exciting and keep it fun! It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. Be creative!

Have fun and love on your spouse. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-25-14

Genesis 2 (NKJV) 18 And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

A HELPER is the key word here today. Webster dictionary defines a helper as: someone who helps another person with a job or task.

Men, you need to let your wives be that helper that God made them to be. And wives, you need to help your man.

Talking and listening to each other about every little thing or big thing is important in a marriage. It’s in those little conversations that we can pick up on a lot of things that we might otherwise miss.

There may be times when we think we shouldn’t tell our spouse something because we want to protect them. But by doing that, we are hiding things from them and that may come back to bite us, even though we had good intentions.

Men, are you struggling today in some areas? Then take some time and talk to your wife. Don’t hide it, or keep it from her.

Women, always be ready to help your man. Whether they come to you on their own, or if you see something going wrong, and you know they need help, talk with them. Share your concerns with them. There’s no need to yell, nag or tear them down. But speak out of wisdom, love and compassion.

Work together as a couple and make the changes that need to be made. Don’t leave it all up to one person to fix it.

It takes a man and woman helping each other to have a good, strong marriage. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-4-14

Matthew 19:6 (NKJV) “So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Marriage is an incredible gift from God. Sadly, it has become devalued in today’s society.

As followers of Christ, we don’t have to fall into the traps of the enemy, destroying what God has joined together.

Making a marriage last takes hard work on both sides. But it can be done!

Are you in a troubled marriage? Have you cheated on your spouse? Have you mistreated them?

Have you given up hope because your spouse mistreated you?

Regardless of what you’ve been through, this doesn’t have to be the end of your relationship. There is hope and there is help for you. You can make it work and have victory in your situation.

Start by forgiving each other. Make a decision to do whatever it takes to work things out and don’t quit. Don’t give up.

And instead of dwelling on what the other person did wrong to you, stop and ask God what He wants you to change in yourself. If both people in a troubled relationship would do this, and then take it seriously enough to take action to fix the problems, not a single relationship would end up broken.

We know it’s not easy, so don’t think we’re saying that it is. But we’ve seen God work some miracles in cases where both people were willing to admit that they had faults and then work through the problems in front of them.

So don’t give up hope. Trust God. Let Him lead you. If we could all just let God lead us, how much better would our lives be?

It’s never too late to start.
