Isaiah 55:9 (LSB) 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Life. It is a wonderous, terrible, beautiful, and incredible thing.
It is a gift from God. And yet the things we face can sometimes feel like hell is relentlessly attacking us.
We will experience the highest of highs and the lowest of lows no matter who we are, no matter our social status, and no matter the level of financial success we have achieved.
But in all of life’s uncertainty, one thing we can be sure of is God’s sovereignty.
He sits high and lifted up. His glory is beyond our understanding. His wonders defy human logic and comprehension.
He is simply too big for us to fully grasp.
He may do things that we just can’t figure out. Or maybe we understand part of something He does, but not everything about it. And it baffles us to no end.
And maybe there is something about His ways that truly bothers us. We just can’t wrap our head around why He does some things the way He does.
But that’s OK. We were not put here to figure Him out.
We were created to bring Him glory and honor. We were created to love Him and worship Him.
And sometimes that means accepting the fact that we can’t know it all or understand it all and being okay with that fact.
It really is okay!
And it humbles us to admit this. But we must remember that humility is a key element in the life of a child of God. At least it should be.
So, if we find ourselves questioning some of the ways God moves, let us humble ourselves before Him and surrender to Him in a way that says, “I trust you, and I accept that there will be things that I may never understand. But I know that Your ways are higher than my ways, and Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts. And I am okay with that.”
It will change the way we see things and may very well change our relationship with God in ways that we never expected.
