Bible Verse of The Day – 2-9-21

Matthew 3:1-2 (NKJV) 1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”

Unless we hear the call to salvation through repentance, and we take action, there is no new birth in Christ.

Our hearts must hear the call; the nudging or tugging to get right with God and to remain in it, not simply make a decision today, and then tomorrow do whatever we want.

When we realize the state that we are in, and the need to become a child of God and change our lives, that is when we usually are ready to do whatever needs to be done to make it happen.

It is a state of repentance that draws our hearts toward God. A place we come to where we know we need to let go and make some big changes.

For some it is very hard to let go of the past. But that past must become history and we must learn from it, not live in it.

If we are a “past-liver” that’s where our heart will remain. And if anything remains still for too long, it becomes stagnant.

If we are like this, we will not grow or go very far with Christ. We will be a stagnant Christian. We will be motionless, still, lifeless, dead, or slack. None of us want that.

Hear what the word of God is saying to our hearts today.

Be quick to hear the call of repentance and walk in the fulness of His love and Salvation.

Share it with others, and stop thinking that what we have to say is meaningless. God’s word brings truth and life. It’s so important  that we speak it when He opens the door for us to do so.

John 6:63 (NKJV) 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-17-19

Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The life I now live, I live by faith in the Son of God.

What an awesome summary of life in Christ!

We have been crucified with Christ, dead, but made alive again in Him. Our past has been erased by the mercy and grace of God. We are a new creation in Christ.

It is no longer us who lives, but Christ living in us. He has bought us at a price, shedding His blood for our sins, thereby enabling us to become one of His. In Him we live and move and have our being.

Our life is no longer our own. This is one of the biggest things we need to recognize and understand. When we finally get this, it will change the way we see life. And it will change the way we live.

We now live life by faith in the Son of God. We recognize that without Him, we are nothing… dead in sin, purposeless and meaningless. But in Him, we are now dead to sin.

He loved us and gave His life for us. The ultimate sacrifice. For you, and for me.

We need to understand it, embrace it, and walk in it every day of our lives.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-7-19

Romans 6:10-11 (NKJV) 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

We are dead. Yet we are more alive than we have ever been, if we are “in Christ”.

In our life before putting our faith in Jesus, our body was alive, but our spirit was dead. This is because we were separated from God. Our sin created an impenetrable barrier between us and Him.

But the moment we put our faith and trust in Christ, that barrier was destroyed, and our spirit was made alive!

You see, Jesus died one death, for all. His death essentially wiped out sin that kept us from God.

In the days of the Old Testament, followers of God were bound to very specific laws that required them to sacrifice various types of animals in order to atone for their sins. The ultimate sacrifice was a spotless lamb.

Jesus took the place of the spotless lamb and died for you, and for me, to break the chains of sin and give us direct access to God.

1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV) 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Jesus was the final High Priest. He did away with the need for priests (or other human beings) to stand between us and God, acting on our behalf.

As Jesus breathed His last breath, the veil in the temple that divided us and God was torn in two, allowing us to approach God directly with our confessions, our petitions and our worship, without fear of rebuke.

Mark 15:38 (NKJV) 38 Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Now, because of what Jesus did for us, we can approach God boldly.

Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV) 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We are alive in Him!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-15

1 John 5:12(NKJV) 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

People that do not receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, are dead.

That means they get up every day and do normal everyday stuff, and think that it’s living. Every day they do the same thing, over and over again. They are blind and hardened to the fact that that’s life and there is nothing else for them.

But that is far from living. Life begins when we believe and put our faith in Jesus Christ. Life begins for us when we follow Him.

Living is not going out and having fun at the bars. Living is not working a job that pays big money. Living is not eating out and taking vacations. Living is not sleeping around and having sex with whoever and whatever. This is not life!

There is life in Christ, the Son of God; beautiful, fulfilling, breathtaking LIFE. But we must choose Him if we want it! Amen.
