Bible Verse of The Day – 10-19-15

John 4:23(NKJV) 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

Worship starts in our heart.

It starts when we get a revelation of God’s compassion and love for each one of us, no matter where we’ve been or what we come from.

True worship comes through a heart of gratefulness, a heart of thankfulness, a heart of humility, and love.

Enter into worship with Him this week. Remember Him when we are on our break at work or school. Or when we are home and we have a few minutes to just sit and remember the things He has walked us through.

He is seeking us today to worship Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-17-15

Mark 11:25 (NKJV) 25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

Forgiving someone is something we all face from time to time. It’s a step we have to take.

Some have to forgive their parents for things that happened to them when they were a child, and they had no control over the things that happened to them. But the memory is there and it’s hard to move on and let go.

Some have to forgive themselves for things they participated in, not knowing at the time that it was wrong. They went ahead and did it, only to learn now it was not the right thing to do.

Some have to forgive their spouse, for hurtful words and painful things they have done to them, and continue to love them and not hold a grudge toward them.

Some have to forgive their children for things they deliberately did to them to make them angry and bring shame on their family.

Some have to forgive their Pastor, Priest, or Minister, etc., for mistakes they have made.

Some have to forgive their very close friend that they trusted with all their personal information and that person took it and spread it to others.

These are just a few things that might hit home. Let God work on helping us to pinpoint the unforgiveness in our hearts.

We need to be free from it. Life is beautiful and we can’t be holding on to this stuff any longer.

It takes more work to hold onto something like this than it does to just give it over to God and let Him help with it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-16-15

2 Samuel 7:22 (NKJV) 22 Therefore You are great, O Lord God. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

There is NO other God and NONE like Him. He is our Lord God. Our Heavenly Father, Almighty God, Jehovah Jireh, El Shaddai, Prince of Peace and Mighty King! Amen.

God loves us all so much and wants a relationship with each one of us. He wants us to come to Him and embrace Him. He wants us to feel safe with Him, to share things that we are feeling and going through. He wants to help us every day. He wants to save us from our sin.

John 3:17 (NKJV) 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

His Son, Jesus Christ, is here for us today.

It doesn’t matter what we are dealing with or what we have done. He is there waiting for us.

All we need to do is call out to Him and ask Him to come into our life. We just need to ask forgiveness for the things we’ve done wrong and then trust, believe and receive Him as our Lord and Savior.

Psalm 116:2 (NKJV) 2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.

Talk to Him each day. He is listening. His ear is inclined to our voice!

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-15-15

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Things change and this requires us to change with them at times. The thing that drives us crazy is when something changes and we don’t always know what changes to make on our end.

Not long ago, we were faced with a complete change in our situation. We were like, “OK God, you have our attention, what do we do?”

Everything was different. We tried to keep on doing what we were used to doing, hoping things would go back to the way they were. But it was not helping or working. So, we began to just pull back, pray, listen and watch.

It wasn’t long before God began to give us direction. We had to make some serious changes. Big changes from what we were used to doing and the way we were used to doing them.

I’ll admit, new stuff stresses me out. I like repetition and routine. I like knowing what I need to do and just doing it.

I had to learn that when change comes, I can’t lose heart. I can’t throw in the towel and think that everything we were doing before was pointless and a complete waste of time.

There are steps in life, and these steps will take us from one place to another.

God will help us find the right steps to take as we wait on Him. And while we are waiting, He will teach us to be of good courage.

That means no grumbling, whining, being frustrated, or acting out in anger. Simply wait on Him with a right attitude. He will strengthen our hearts.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-14-15

Mark 11:22-24(NKJV) 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

There are a lot of things we are believing God for right now. Things that are out of our hands or control. Things that only HE can do. Things that will take a MIRACLE!!

We are excited about how and when God will do it!! We rest in knowing that His way is perfect. His timing is perfect. And His will for us is PERFECT!!

This is the way to live in Christ, as God’s children. It’s normal and it’s fun!

I can remember having a conversation one day with a couple. I was telling them about some of the things we know that God is doing for us and they had the deer-in-the-headlights look on their faces. As in, “are you really serious?”

You know, that’s why some are struggling today. They’re not getting their healing. They’re not getting their financial breakthrough. They’re not getting that new job, or that new home. It seems so far away and unreachable.

The healing they need for their marriage is out of sight. Those that have been waiting and waiting for the spouse they long to be with etc.

Why? Because they won’t even take the first step and believe. They’ve got that scared look on their face when God tells them to do certain things and they are saying the same thing. “Are you really serious?”

Believing is essential when we’re expecting or asking for something from God.

We have to have faith, trust God and believe in our hearts.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-13-15

Proverbs 19:20-21 (NKJV) 20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days. 21 There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.

We may have thoughts and ideas of our own as to what we need to do at certain times. But we need to always remember to pray about it and ask God to confirm those ideas, making sure it is His will and plan for us.

Just because some things look, feel and sound good doesn’t necessarily mean it’s God’s plan.

Know that at times we may wrestle with the things that God would have us to do. It may not always be what we want to be doing, or the way we would like to be doing it.

This is normal, but if we submit to the Spirit, we will truly walk in His will for us and be blessed!

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-12-15

1 Corinthians 13:8 (NKJV) 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

There are many things that we seek and try to find satisfaction in during our lifetime. Hobbies, friends, material things, careers, wealth, community status, and a long list of other things that we can name.

And we can do a lot in our lifetime to impact people around us, either in a positive way or a negative way.

But in the end, when our lifetime is spent and we’re gone, there is really only one thing that matters, other than our relationship with God. There is one question that the answer to will tell more about us than any material things we leave behind.

What is that question, you ask? Here it is: Did we love others?

When we’re gone, and all that’s left is our legacy and memories of us, what will be remembered the most is whether we loved others or not.

There may be some people who remember certain things we did. There may be some who will remember things we said. And there will even be people who will remember the stuff we had.

But when push comes to shove, all that really matters is whether we loved others or not. Because whether we loved others will determine how the rest of those other things are seen in our life.

If we love people, we will give. We will help. We will sow. We will encourage. We will smile with them. We will cry with them. We will stand beside them in their darkest moments. We will pick them up when they’ve fallen.

And in doing so, in loving others, we will show people God and point them to The Way.

All other things will fade and pass away. Everything else comes and goes. But love lasts for a lifetime and beyond.

1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

So let’s go beyond the noise, clutter and distractions of everyday life and love like God has loved us.

The love we show and the love we give could very well change someone’s life forever.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-10-15

1 Corinthians 10:31 (NKJV) 31 Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

In our day to day activities it can be very easy to forget to give God glory for the things He does in our lives.

If we were to watch ourselves and listen to the things we say, we will most likely find ourselves taking credit for a lot of what God deserves the credit for.

We probably don’t do this purposely, but we are guilty of doing it.

As children of the Most High God, we need to be careful that we’re not stealing His glory and letting people look upon us in a way that causes us to get credit for things He’s done in our lives.

There are two things that we can be guilty of stealing from God. His glory is one of them.

And when we do this, it can give us a big head… a dangerous ego that will lead to disastrous results later on down the road if we don’t fix it.

So let’s be sure to give credit where credit is due, and give God the glory in everything we do, pointing people to Him.

Enjoy your weekend and be blessed in Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-9-15

Galatians 6:15 (NKJV) 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.

The verse above is often quoted when referring to or teaching about racism, denominations or other things that can divide people. And that is appropriate, to be sure.

But look at those last 3 words; a new creation. That‘s what it’s really all about!

As humans, we’re full of flaws and brokenness.

We say stupid stuff. We do stupid stuff. We make messes that need cleaning up. We hurt people. We hurt ourselves. We hurt God.

But wait! Here’s the good part!

God takes us; beaten down, dirty, dysfunctional, broken vessels, and makes us brand new. Rebuilt and renovated is good. But brand new is even better 🙂

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The God of the universe cares about us infinitely. So much so that He takes the time and effort needed to take broken people and make them new, from the inside out.

And we are all a work in progress. Some of us may move along more quickly or more slowly than others, but it’s all about letting God work with us as He sees fit.

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

So trust God to clean us up and make us new, no matter what we’ve done or how bad we think we are. There’s nothing that He can’t handle.

We just need to submit ourselves to the Master Builder and let Him do His work in us. It won’t always be easy and it won’t happen overnight.

But it will happen if we let it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-8-15

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The enemy loves to bully us and taunt us with FEAR. Because fear makes us look weak.

How do we stop being fearful of something?

We do the very opposite of what fear normally causes us to do. We FACE it and we get victory over it.

Not on our own, but with God’s help and assistance.

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

God is for us and we can win over this fear that we’re battling.

Fear has to go. There are some that are afraid of speaking up at times. There are some that are afraid of stepping out. There are some today that are afraid and intimidated by their own children, their spouse, friends, Pastor, boss, or teacher.

The only way to win is to face it and deal with it so we can put it behind us.

How?

For example, if we are afraid of the dark, then we should leave the lights off and get used to it. It might be very uncomfortable at first, but that discomfort will decrease with time.

If we are afraid to speak up at times, make it a point to speak up as much as we need to, whenever we need to. We may get nervous and even have trouble getting our words out at first. But the more we speak up, the easier it will become.

If we are afraid to be around certain people because they intimidate us, then go around them as much as we can until we are no longer intimidated by them, etc.

God will help us get free from fear as we face it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-7-15

Isaiah 26:4 (NKJV) 4 Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

Spending time in prayer is the most powerful thing we can do for our marriage or someone else’s marriage, for our family or someone else’s family, for the church and for the world as a whole.

Strength, healing, deliverance, and VICTORY come through prayer, through trusting in our Lord.

If we want to see change and get answers, it will take us putting time aside, writing down the things God has shown us that need changing and pray them through, trusting HIM for the answer and the victory in each battle.

We want to see change. God will bring change.

He is STRONG. Trust in HIM!
