Bible Verse of The Day – 11-17-15

Matthew 9:11 (NKJV) 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, “Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

Jesus spent time with those who were open and willing to listen to Him, it didn’t matter what they had done, what they had been through or where they came from. He’d spend time with them.

The Pharisees didn’t get it and questioned His disciples. So Jesus answered them.

Matthew 9:12 (NKJV) 12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

There are people that know they need help and want it and there are people that need help but refuse it. He went to the ones who wanted it.

Let us reach out to those that need help and are willing to receive it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-15

Matthew 11:28 (NKJV) 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Are you tired today?

Have you been wrestling with anything lately that has worn you out? Are you facing trials and temptations?

Jesus wants you to rest in Him, no matter what you’re facing.

When we’re in a battle, we can get worn out pretty quickly if we try to handle everything ourselves.

Our minds can sometimes be our worst enemy. Our intellect always tries to kick in and figure everything out. And when we do this, we can spin our wheels pretty good!

But those spinning wheels won’t get us anywhere, except buried in worrying and fretting over something we have no control over. And so many times, we spend hours, days and weeks worrying about something that never comes to pass.

Surrendering it to Jesus isn’t easy. But it’s a necessity if we want to keep from getting burned out and losing our faith.

But we need to tell our minds to shut up. And then we need to do whatever is necessary to hear God’s voice and heed His words, so He can lead us.

The best thing to do is to get in His word and let Him speak faith to our spirits. This will refresh us and renew our strength, and give us hope.

So, if you’re tired, let Jesus give you rest today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-14-15

Luke 5:5 (NKJV) 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”

Simon explained to Jesus what he had already done, and how he got nothing in his attempt.

But notice that even in Simon’s understanding of what happened, he still followed Jesus’ word and did what Jesus told Him to do. This is key.

We may not always understand why or what Jesus may be asking of us at times. But as long as we let Him lead, we will continue to see Him move, even in our lack of understanding.

Don’t give up on what Jesus is telling us to do today. His words are solid and transforming. You may need a healing today. Your business may need a breakthrough. Your marriage may need restoring. Your spouse may need salvation. Your children may need healing, or you may need deliverance from addictions.

If Simon said, “I already did what You are asking me to do last night, it’s a waste of my time”, and he did not heed the voice of Jesus and act upon it, he would have missed out on a huge blessing.

Luke 5:6 (NKJV) 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

We are believing that as you take that step of faith, and you listen and do what Jesus is speaking to your heart today, your blessing will come.

Do what Simon did, pushing aside his own understanding of what he had already experienced and listening to what Jesus was saying.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-15

Philippians 1:9-11 (NKJV) 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

This is our prayer for you.

That each and every person reading this will abound in God’s love, knowledge and discernment.

That you partake of and approve of things that are excellent and pleasing to God.

That you will all be sincere and without offense, until the day Jesus returns.

And that you would be filled with the fruits of righteousness, for God’s glory.

We pray for God’s blessings over each and every one of you. And that His hand of provision will touch your lives.

We pray for razor-sharp discernment in everything you do, that your actions and words would bring glory to His name.

We pray for His joy over your home and over your life. For His joy is your strength.

And we pray that your faith in Him will grow each day and that you will become powerful in the Spirit.

Receive these things in the name of Jesus!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-15

Psalm 40:1 (NKJV) 40 I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.

We’ll admit that we have been through a thing or two the last several years. We’ve been through some pretty dark times. It’s just part of life, and nobody is immune. Nobody.

We’ve had days when we literally laid on the floor and cried.

We cried out to God. We cried because of our circumstances. We cried because we felt lost and alone. And we cried because we wanted to make right choices that were pleasing to God.

And we waited…

We waited for answers. We waited for a breakthrough. We waited for someone to come along and help us out of the situation we were in. We waited for money to fall out of the sky and make it all better. And we waited on God.

And God heard us.

God heard us every time we cried out. He heard our cries and He listened. And He answered us. In His time, not ours. And this was the thing that we had to understand. That God answered us, in His timing, but not in ours.

And He answered us the way He knew was right, not in the way we wanted or the way we thought He should.

But the important thing to note is that He did answer us. And He did rescue us. He did bring a breakthrough. In His timing.

So don’t feel abandoned. Don’t feel neglected. Don’t feel like you’re without hope.

God does hear you, and He will answer. In His timing and with His answer.

And His answers are always what’s best for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-11-15

Job 37:5-6 (NKJV) God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength.

Do we put God in a box when we want Him to answer our prayers? Do we tell Him how, when and what we want done?

Do we really want to run the show when we have Someone so MARVELOUS that is willing to help us in all we do?

God is God! He’s Omnipotent! He’s Omnipresent and He is Omniscient!

We cannot comprehend the things that He would love to do for us and for those we pray for.

Just rest in knowing, He will do the best we could ever imagine if we put it in His hands and trust Him! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-10-15

John 13:35 (NKJV) 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Jesus spent a fair amount of His time here on earth teaching people to love. He didn’t teach warfare. He didn’t teach intolerance. He didn’t teach bigotry. He didn’t teach racism. He didn’t teach sexism.

He taught love.

As His body, we are supposed to exemplify His teachings and live them out. How? By loving others. By showing them God’s mercy and compassion.

John 13:34 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

How far we have fallen when it comes to following His new commandment.

It’s very sad to see the state of the church today. We have become like the world in so many ways.

And yet we expect to be able to reach out to a dying world and offer them something that will rescue them from the pits of hell, while we are being hateful in our speech and our actions.

1 Corinthians 13:11 (NKJV) 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

Church, it’s time for us to put away childish things and walk in the footsteps of Jesus.

The world is a mess. People are dying all around us. Believers in some countries are literally dying for their faith every single day, at the hands of terrorists and tyrants.

And yet, in some areas of the world, we get caught up in silly debates about things that have no bearing on anything eternal, or even anything truly important.

We implore you. Put off the childish things and seek God with your whole heart. And love those He has put in your life.

And show them Christ, each and every day, by showing them His mercy and compassion.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-15

1 Corinthians 7 (NKJV) 7 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Many people have become desensitized when it comes to sexual immorality. If we become desensitized, it can cause us to make wrong decisions when it comes to relationships.

We need to speak truthfully.

It’s not OK with God to live with a person and have sexual intercourse with them, without being married.

Some people are wondering why there are so many things going wrong in their relationship, wondering why things never get better for them. But yet, they continue in sexual immorality.

So many people truly want their relationship to be blessed by God. But we have to take the right step for God to bless it, and marriage is that step!

If you are living with a person today and God is speaking to you loud and clear about getting married, don’t wait. Make it right with Him today. Both of you take the initiative, repent and be united as one in marriage.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 (NKJV) 3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-7-15

Mark 10:45 (NKJV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Serving others. It’s what Jesus came to do. He said it Himself.

For some, serving others comes naturally. For others, it takes deliberate effort to push other things aside and put the needs of others before their own.

As followers of Christ, we need to let God bring this to pass in our own lives. We need to bear this kind of fruit. We need to learn to serve others, even when it’s not convenient.

Jesus even took it further in the previous verse, and tells us that if we desire to be first, we will become slaves.

Mark 10:44 (NKJV) 44 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all.

Kind of gives it more credence when we see it put this way, directly from the mouth of Jesus, doesn’t it?

So how do we do this? How do we learn to serve others in a way that’s pleasing to God?

We press in to Him and let Him shape us into who He wants us to be. When we do this, our lives will start becoming more of what He wants and less of what we want.

Then, and only then, will we have a heart to serve others as Christ did.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-6-15

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Some of us are facing some serious challenges in our lives right now.

In fact, the mountain in front of you might seem insurmountable. They loom over us like a black cloud that will suck the life out of us.

But Jesus has told us to be of good cheer. Why? Because He overcame the world. He overcame insurmountable odds Himself, for us.

He told us that we would face tribulations in this world. And it’s a fact that we do. Nobody will argue with this for one second.

But as we place our faith and trust in Him, He gives us what we need to overcome those obstacles.

Don’t get this wrong. Sometimes things don’t turn out the way we think they should. Sometimes the end result of something isn’t at all what we would have wanted.

But in it all and through it all, God holds us up. And, if we let Him, He will give us His peace.

Trust Him, children of God. If there is anyone worthy of our trust, it’s our Savior and Redeemer.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-5-15

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Has a door been opened to us that’s something more than we ever expected? Is it something we feel we don’t understand or have the know-how to handle? Does it feel bigger than us?

It might very well be a God door. God will sometimes open doors for us that we never expected.

The worst thing we can do is get nervous and walk away or avoid that door out of fear.

We need to take time and pray about it. We don’t want to speak too quickly and refuse an opportunity that would allow us to grow and learn something new.

The verse above tells us that we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us.

Move toward it, knowing that if it is for us Christ’s strength in us will get it done!!
