Bible Verse of The Day – 5-9-17

Matthew 5:13 (NKJV) 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

When we are performing duties in the world, such as our job, or attending school, it’s important that we don’t let the world influence us and cause us to become like them.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

When we’re around certain types of behavior it can sometimes “rub off” on us if we’re not careful.

One example of this is the language that people use. Vulgar language runs rampant today. And, sadly, it’s not uncommon to hear believers using the very same curse words that the rest of the world uses. It should never be this way.

Some people might say that “they’re just words”. But God’s word says otherwise.

Colossians 3:8 (NKJV) 8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

On the contrary, we are to be a light to the world.

Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

If we are letting the world’s behavior influence us, then we are no longer light to them. But, rather, we have become darkened by the world.

Jesus said we are the salt of the earth. What did He mean by that?

Well, salt gives things flavor. It adds to it. It enhances it.

But if we let the world dilute us, and we lose our “saltiness”, then we are of no use to those in the world. We become just like them and have nothing to offer them. In fact, Jesus said that salt that has lost its flavor is good for nothing!

So we want to encourage everyone today to be mindful of the words we use. We just never know who is listening and how what we say, or don’t say, will impact them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-8-17

Psalm 119:133 (NKJV) 133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

What sin is it that tries to have dominion over us? Is it jealousy, lust, selfishness, pride, arrogance? Is it porn, adultery, stealing, drug abuse, lying, etc.? There is a lot of sin out there, but if we let God and His word direct our steps NONE of it will take over us.

The worst thing we can do is deny our problem with sin or close our eyes to it. I know someone very dear to me that is in critical condition, and in the end stages of cirrhosis, because of his excessive drinking and drugs.

He did not take it seriously. But instead loved it and enjoyed every moment of it. This is not uncommon, my friends. It happens a lot. Probably more often than we know.

Does he regret it now? Absolutely. Why? Because he is suffering greatly from the results of it. Pain has a way of teaching us. Not only has it hurt him, but also all those who love him. They are suffering as well, as they watch him struggle to live.

Iniquity in one’s life is long reaching.

The good news is that God has the steps for us to get free from it today. But are we willing to see it and face it in our own hearts? It can be easy to see things in the lives of others. But sometimes we’re not so willing to admit to our own faults and shortcomings.

There is not a single one of us who hasn’t fallen short in some way.

Romans 3:23 (NKJV) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…

You see, without remorse, we will never cry out in repentance. We have to see the error in our logic and our actions. We have to humbly come to God and ask for forgiveness and help from Him if we want to get dominion over it.

Cry out today for help. He is waiting.

Psalm 55:16 (NKJV) 16 As for me, I will call upon God, And the Lord shall save me.

Bible Verse of The Day – Bought At a Price – 5-7-17

Hello!

Today we would like to share something that can be life changing. Many Christians live their entire lives and never fully grasp the fact that we have been bought at a price.

We just recorded a new video on this topic.

Please click here to watch the video now.

This is a subject that, once we get understanding about the depth of it, will change the way we think, the way we act and our complete outlook on life in general.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes and give this a listen, because if you do, and you let God speak to your heart, you will look at your life differently from here forward.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-6-17

Proverbs 3:6 (NKJV) 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

One thing that I’ve had to learn over the years about being a believer is that when God wants us to be a part of something that we are not very enthused about, it’s hard to say no, because it will keep eating away at us.

Sometimes the things we don’t want to be a part of are the very things that are going to help us learn and grow.

It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but if we can learn to just accept the things He puts in front of us we will be more at peace than if we were to say no, and buck it.

God knows what we all need in our lives in certain seasons. And if we let Him direct our path, we will not only come out stronger and wiser, but we will be even more humble as well. These are good qualities to have.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-5-17

James 4:7(NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Through Jesus Christ, we have victory!!

The devil cannot make us do anything if we belong to Christ. We have been given authority to defeat the enemy in our lives.

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

We have to choose what God says is good for us, and then we have to do it.

If we are full of lust, and it’s all we think about, it’s no good.

If we love to drink and do drugs and we don’t care if we hurt the people around us, we need to see it and what it is doing and know that it’s no good.

If we love to eat and eat, and have no control over it, we need to understand that, over time, overeating can cause great damage to our health. It can lead to obesity, which can eventually kill us. It’s NO good.

There are so many other bad things we can let control us. However, if we know who we are in Christ, we will know that none of these things can have control over us if we don’t want them to. Period!

That is the key; determining whether or not we want it. Because if we do want it, then it will never stop. And we will never change it. And we will eventually die under the control of that very thing.

We have to see that it is the thing destroying us. We have to ask God, through His Son, Jesus Christ, to help us say no to it and to give us strength, wisdom and deliverance from it.

It takes work and that is why we need to reach a point where we actually develop a hatred toward it, so that we will do all that it takes to get rid of it.

Some of us need to be delivered today from wrong things that we love. We need to understand that they are killing us slowly and ruining our relationships with family and friends.

We are the only one who can make the change. We can cry all we want that we hate it and what it does to us and others, but unless we take the steps to stop it, nothing will happen.

Jesus Christ has won the battle over it already. We just need to ask Him for help and genuinely mean it.

Prayer for deliverance…

Dear God,

Today I come to you with a heart of repentance for the way I have lived my life, for the very things I did to hurt my body. I did this to myself and I’m sorry.

I now want to ask you for help. I need deliverance from the enemy that I have let into my life. I  want to close those doors and shut him out. I want no more of this in my life. Today, I ask to be delivered from drinking, porn, drugs, anger, abuse, lust, jealousy, etc.

I want the life that you want for me. I want to be that man or woman you have called me to be. I know it may take time for me to learn, but I’m willing. In the name of your precious Son, Jesus Christ, please help me.

Father, I ask You to bring the right people and friends around me and to open the doors of opportunity that You have for me, and give me the strength and courage to walk through them.

Thank you Father. I want to do right and I am willing to take one day at a time and follow You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Exciting News From Pastor Curt & Pastor Ellie – Ministry Update – 5-4-17

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We’re excited to be writing 🙂

First, thank you to all those who pray for us. Your prayers are coveted and much needed. We appreciate them!

Second, thank you to everyone who supports our ministry work financially. You are a blessing. You make it possible for us to do what we do. Your help makes it possible for us to send God’s word around the world, to more than 155 nations!

We have some exciting updates to share with everyone. We know your time is precious, so we will get right to the point.

Our Mobile App Is Live!

We launched our new mobile app on March 1! After working on it for 2 years, it is finally live. The launch went without a hitch, for which we are thankful. In the first two month over 700 people have downloaded it to their smartphones and tablets. And more people install it on their mobile devices each day.

But that’s not the best part. The most exciting thing is where it is being used! Of course it is being used in the western world, in places like the USA, Canada, The UK, Australia and more. But we have seen an increase in readership in nations such as Qatar, Dubai and other places in the Middle East part of the world where Islam is dominant and it is extremely hard to reach with the gospel by going there physically. And we give God all of the glory and honor for this!

People Are Growing!

We receive letters, cards, emails, Facebook messages and phone calls from many of you each week. Sometimes it’s to ask a question. Sometimes it’s to say “Thank You”. Other times it’s to request prayer. And then other times it’s simply to say Hello 🙂

We truly enjoy each and every card, note, phone call or prayer request that we receive. What’s really awesome is that through these messages we receive, and conversations we have with you, we have seen that you are growing and maturing in your walk with God. That right there is what it’s all about.

It’s amazing to see and hear about how God is moving in your lives and drawing you closer to Him each day. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him, so keep up the great work!

We are thankful to God for His wisdom and His Spirit, guiding each and every one of us. It’s so encouraging to see what God is doing in your lives!

More Than One Way!

And finally, we are also very excited to let everyone know that we now have more ways for everyone to support this work.

In the past, PayPal was our only means of accepting donations online. This has worked well overall, but we have heard from some of you that you don’t like to use PayPal or that you tried it and it just didn’t seem to work.

So, in order to make it as easy and hassle-free as possible, we are now able to accept support through a great Christian company called Tithely. As with PayPal, Tithely allows you to make one-time donations or setup recurring monthly partnership support. But the best part is that you don’t have to have a PayPal account to use Tithely.

If you’d like to give Tithely a try, please click here.

Additionally (and this is really cool), we now offer “Text to Give“! This actually lets you give by sending a simple text message from your smartphone! This is probably the most convenient it gets, right here.

If you’d like to setup Text to Give on your phone, simply text the word Give to (401) 314-0125. If you’re outside of the USA or Canada, you will need to add +1 in front of that number.

Text to Give lets you send a text message from anywhere, any time of the day. No hassles and no computer needed. It doesn’t get any easier than this.

Most importantly, everything is 100% secure, regardless of what method you choose.

In Closing

So once again, thank you to everyone who prays for us, supports us and encourages us with your words. You are all a blessing to us!

We will continue to pray for you also. And we will continue to follow God’s call to share His word, His love and His grace, mercy and compassion with people across the globe. To reach the lost and strengthen His body, raising up strong believers and mighty warriors for the kingdom, across the Seven Seas, reaching lands both near and far!

You are loved.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-4-17

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

It’s important that we understand that this is not a one time, only-when-we-are-in-trouble verse that we only follow when we’re in desperate need of help. This becomes a permanent lifestyle when we make Jesus our Lord and Savior!

This is the beginning of a brand new way of walking.

Faith; it’s where it all begins!

Are we still trying to walk the way we used to walk, before we became believers in Christ? If we are, then we will get the same results we used to get.

Maybe some of us are frustrated today because life is still the same as it was, and we were expecting big changes. Nothing is going to change for us if we don’t change the way we do things.

We need to learn to walk all over again. That’s right. And just as a baby taking its first steps, we might be a little wobbly and shaky.

We may even fall or fail at times. But, listen; We don’t stop learning. We keep on trying to get it right. We keep on pushing through, believing and having faith to get it right.

Even in our learning, God sees our faith.

Keep trying. Keep our eyes and our focus on Him. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-3-17

Colossians 3:23 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men…

All of us, all around the world today, will get up and get ready to go to work. We will dress accordingly for our position. We will prepare ourselves for our job or school. For some it will mean that we will care for our home and our children.

Wherever we go or whatever we do, please let us be reminded of this verse. Let this verse speak to our heart, that we will do what we do with everything in us, that it will be pleasing to our Lord.

Forget about everything else regarding the work. For example, don’t focus on the money or the pay increase. Don’t think about whether we will have friends there, or what type of position it is.

Instead, let us put our focus on the fact that God is watching our heart and our performance.

Work hard, and with great purpose, and our reward will come.

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NKJV) 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

God bless you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-2-17

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,

Have we done something nice for our wives lately? Have we planned a special night out, or maybe done some extra things around the house that may help her out in one way or another? How about a nice card? Or a massage without her having to ask for it?

Sometimes all it takes is taking a little bit of our time to do something they weren’t expecting, that will let them know they are loved, respected, appreciated and thought of.

Take some time today and plan something special for her. Love is often felt in the simplest ways.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-1-17

Ephesians 5:2 (NKJV) 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Walk in love. What does that mean anyway?

How do we walk in love on a daily basis? How do we emulate Christ and share the love of God with those around us in a way that will draw them to Him?

First, we need to learn to let God love us. We need to draw near to God so He can draw near to us.

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, I may declare all Your works.

If we are letting God love us and we are drawing near to Him, His love will become a bigger part of who we are.

And as He becomes bigger in our own lives, our passion for Him will grow. And it will become easier for us to let His love flow through us, out to those around us.

Before too long, our outlook on life in general will begin to change. And as that happens, we will be less likely to despise those people who irritate or frustrate us and more likely to see them through His eyes of love, grace, mercy and compassion.

Then, walking in love will come naturally.
