Bible Verse of The Day – 12-20-18

1 Samuel 2:3 (NKJV) 3 “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, For the Lord is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed.

Arrogance is one of the worst traits we can exhibit. It isn’t pretty, attractive or impressive. It is quite the opposite.

Arrogance will land us in trouble. Oh, we may get away with it for a season or two. But it will eventually come back to bite us in one way or another.

God doesn’t want us to be arrogant. Arrogance stems from pride.

Arrogance: Excessive pride or self-confidence.

And here’s what God says about pride.

James 4:6 (NKJV) 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Let’s check ourselves and make sure we’re not being arrogant in any way. And if we are, let’s surrender it to God and let Him show us how to correct it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-18

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

This time of year can feel very busy and stressful for some people. Many may be missing a loved one, and for some people they may be feeling lonely, with no one to share the holidays with.

We know that it’s a hard time for you and we want you to know that God knows what you are going through, and how you feel at this very moment, more than anyone.

He knows the smile you put on your face when others are around, but deep down you ache and are sad inside.

Know that He cares for you. He sees you in those moments when you feel so alone. He is there, holding you tightly. Let Him bring peace to you this season. Rest in Him, cry on His shoulder, talk to Him and let out how you feel.

He truly does care for you and what you are going through.

We love you and our prayers are with you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-18-18

James 1:14 (NKJV) 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

Most times when we are feeling temptation it is only because we hold within in us the desire to do whatever it may be that is tempting us at that moment.

In order to get rid of the temptation, we have to hit that desire that’s within us with the Word of God.

Studying the scriptures that strictly pertain to that subject will help us to overcome that temptation, if we listen and let the Holy Spirit guide us, giving us the strength to push down our own fleshly desire.

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We have to remember we do not fight temptation on our own. We use the two-edged sword for that. God gives us the power we need through His Word, to win.

Many Christians struggle with some kind of temptation. Don’t just sit there and cry out to God for help. We need to get up and start helping ourselves by looking for the scriptures, the answers to our own questions. God didn’t give up on us. He made a way for us. Most times we have to go get it.

Dear God in Heaven,

We come to You today to ask for help in getting free from personal temptation. We know we need to take steps within ourselves to win this fight. Help us to kick out those wrong desires within us and get the right ones manifesting through the reading and studying of what You have to say about them.

We thank you Father, in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-17-18

Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV) 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Immanuel meaning, God with us.

Have we ever felt scared, fearful, or stressed about anything? I think at one time or another we all have been in a situation or position where we have felt that way.

We may not want to remember it because it’s not pleasant. It’s not something we want to walk around and tell everyone about. It leaves a bad taste in our mouths, and we never want to go there again.

It’s good to know that when we do face stress and fear we are not alone if we have Christ as our Savior.

God is with us, He loves us, and He protects us.

When we stop and think about how He made this happen, it can cause our heads to hurt. God is amazing! He came to this earth for us through a virgin. A virgin! Immanuel, God with us, was birthed as the Savior of this world. He is Jesus Christ, God’s perfect Son.

He rescued us from our sin, taught us how to behave and how to carry ourselves. There is not a day that goes by that He doesn’t love us.

Don’t be afraid of what we face in this world. He is with us to the end.

1 John 4:4 (NKJV) 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-16-18 – And Such Were Some of You – Part 1

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus!

Many people, including believers, struggle with one sin or another that they just can’t seem to break free of, no matter how hard they try to do so.

Our latest video, And Such Were Some of You, talks about this, breaking it down and explaining what it takes to finally overcome and break free of these addictive behaviors.

God doesn’t want even one of us living in slavery to sin. He has done all that is necessary to give us freedom. We just need to know how to take hold of that freedom and break those chains once and for all.

Please take a few minutes to watch the video and share it with anyone else you feel can benefit from it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-15-18

Luke 16:12 (NKJV) 12 And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is your own?

There may come a time when we are doing something for someone else and feel like we can just slack off or be lenient in how we do the job.

Sometimes some things just don’t feel important enough to pay attention to details. But that’s not how God wants us to grow in our walk. He wants us paying attention in all things and at all times, little or big.

Keeping our heart and mind focused on doing whatever it may be to the best of our ability is so important to receiving what may be put into our hands someday.

One day I was shopping and I had grabbed a few things and put them in my cart. As I was heading to check out, I changed my mind.

When I went to put them back, I couldn’t remember exactly where I got them from. So, I was going to put them somewhere close to where I thought they went.

Before I could even make that move, I heard it. “Is that where you got them from?”

I immediately decided to search harder and I finally found where they came from. Whew. I know this may seem little, but even something as little as this will show us our heart. And at this particular moment, I needed to fight back the feeling of just plopping them somewhere and getting out of there, vs. putting them back where they belonged.

Sometimes we may be in hurry, we are tired or aggravated and have no patience. In those moments we will be tempted to not be so diligent. But remember to listen to God’s prompting. Even in those moments, in those things that seem so little to us, He will keep us faithful in doing what is right, no matter what state we are in.

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NKJV) 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

Take the time needed to get it right. It sure is rewarding! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-14-18

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Many of us are asking God for a financial breakthrough. It seems to be the biggest thing that most of us ask Him for.

Sometimes we ask because there is a genuine need. Other times, not so much. We ask because we want something more than we need that particular something.

Either way, though, we ask and we wait expectantly.

Many times, after we have asked, we wait and we wait. And we wait some more. And it can sometimes seem like our petition is falling on deaf ears. The “breakthrough” doesn’t come. Our prayer goes unanswered.

Or does it?

In reality, here’s what happens many times. We ask God for a blessing or breakthrough, usually with a specific sum of money in mind. Then we watch and wait for that sum to show up.

Maybe we’re looking for a check of unknown origin to show up in the mail. Maybe we look for a raise or a bonus at work.

Whatever it is that we look for, we always seem to attach some type of mysterious aura to it. We expect it to be a large lump sum of money that just appears out of nowhere.

And, while we’re waiting, money comes in and goes back out. It passes through our hands without us giving it a second thought. Why? Because it doesn’t match that figure that we have stuck in our heads.

Sadly, as we watch that money come and go, we fail to recognize that much of it could very well be little pieces of the blessing that we have asked God for. We just fail to recognize it as such because it isn’t coming in a large lump sum in the exact amount we asked for.

Instead, we see smaller amounts over a period of time. They don’t catch our attention because of their size.

And, if we’re not careful, we squander it on things other than what God intended it for because of the failure to recognize it.

It’s incredibly important that we learn to recognize the blessings of God, even when they don’t show up wrapped in the package we were expecting. Failure to do so means missing out on so many of His blessings.

So, if we are asking God for something, whether a financial blessing or any other kind of blessing, we need to be vigilant and discerning to recognize the things that God sends our way, and then diligent to handle them in the way He wants us to.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-13-18

1 Corinthians 9:24 (NKJV) 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

As a young girl, I was fast. I was even faster than my brothers and faster than all the boys in my class. I often took first place in the races on field day at my school.

I remember feeling bad at times for always being the fastest. But I loved to run and I would give it my all.

As I grew up, I noticed that before a race or a track meet, if I was feeling scared or intimidated in any way, my speed was limited. I did not run as fast, my strength was lessened, and I would not do as well.

Having confidence helped me to run better.

No matter what race we are running today, there will always be fear or intimidation somewhere along that road. Don’t avoid it. Don’t try and take a detour or different route. It will slow us down when it comes to reaching our destination.

Face it. Speak to it by not backing down or running away from it. Stand firm with confidence in God, knowing that all things are possible with Him.

We can win! Amen.

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-12-18

Proverbs 13:4 (NKJV) 4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

Diligence is a big deal with God. He wants us to be diligent in all we do, from the smallest thing to the biggest thing.

God says that if we are diligent, our souls will be made rich. Did you notice the difference between what God says and what some others say?

Many people, including some in the church, will tell us that if we are diligent, we will become wealthy with material things. God says our soul will be made rich.

It’s important that we pay attention to this. Why? Because if our soul is rich, then and only then can we properly handle material wealth.

With material wealth there also comes a big responsibility. Most of us aren’t ready for material wealth when we think we are. And if we’re not careful, material wealth will ruin us in a hurry.

Sure, it makes some things a lot easier. But it can lead us into many, many snares if we don’t know how to properly handle it.

Let’s learn to become diligent, so our souls will prosper, before we worry about prospering with our finances.

Then, as we continue to be diligent, as God makes our soul prosper, so will He also help us to prosper financially, as He sees that we can handle it properly.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-11-18

Luke 5:38 (NKJV) 38 But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved.

Change can be hard. Even if we know it may be good for us, it’s still hard to actually follow through with it.

Some people may be stuck in a rut because they cannot make the switch. It’s not that they don’t want to. They have every intention to. But when they look at the whole picture it is overwhelming.

God does not expect us to change everything all at once. He knows it will take some time. A little here and a little there is usually sufficient. Just as long as we are willing and we obey His steps, that is all that really matters.

How can we get past this?

Most times we put off changing because inside we are scared of the new. It is usually something we’ve never done and we don’t know what the outcome will be. So, we would rather stay with the known than to enter into the unknown. Why? Because we are familiar with it.

The Israelites had a similar attitude. They were set free from the bondage they were in, but after a while they wanted to go back to the familiarity of the past.

Numbers 14:4 (NKJV) 4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”

Are we thinking on the same line today as the Israelites? If so, we need help. The old is not better than the new, no matter how comforting it may seem to us in our minds.

Luke 5:39 (NKJV) 39 And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”

We may not like the new change at first, but over time we will find it is what we needed.

When God wants to do something new in us, we have to be ready to receive it, even if we don’t know the outcome. We need to be newly renovated today. We can’t let our love for familiarity work against the newness that God wants to pour into us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-10-18

John 6:35 (NKJV) 35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

As believers it’s important that we understand that some things in God’s word deal with the natural man and the natural world, while others speak specifically of the spiritual man and the spiritual world.

This is what caused so many people to scoff at Jesus when He spoke, because they were so spiritually dull that they couldn’t see that He spoke symbolically and from a spiritual point of view, not just of natural things.

This caused many to think that He was way off with some of the things He said. Many accused Him of being crazy simply because they didn’t have the spiritual discernment to know that He spoke spiritually, not just naturally.

As we read and spend time in His word, it’s also important for us to have that same understanding and discernment. We need to know when God is speaking of the natural and when He is referring to the spiritual.

Luke 12:56 (NKJV) 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

As we get this kind of understanding, we will begin to see and understand more and more of what His word is really saying. Our grasp of spiritual things will grow and develop, and we will become more and more mature as believers.
