Bible Verse of The Day – 3-9-19

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

When everything in us is screaming to pray for what we think we need, but instead we ask for what He wants or sees fit for us, this is a good place to be in our hearts.

There are many things we may think we need to help our present situation. But God knows exactly what it will take, and if we go to Him before starting off on our list, He will be sure to show us what will get the job done.

As I was praying this morning, God impressed on my heart that one of the things that I prayed about had touched His heart, and it was something He needed to hear.

I thought to myself, “what in the world could I have possibly said to God that would touch His heart and was something He needed to hear?”.

He said, “when you said to Me, to not let anything come between us, no wealth, no material thing, nothing that may pull us apart or bring separation or distance in our relationship. It touched Me.”

He shared with me that many come to Him in prayer begging for material blessings and wealth, temporary fixes. But the thing we need most we don’t mention.

I am not saying that we should never go to Him and ask for things as such, but it should not be our focus and the only reason why we spend time with Him.

Seek after Him first, and all the things we may think we need shall be added to us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-8-19

Colossians 1:9 (NKJV) 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

That you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

As believers, this is our goal, to be filled with the knowledge of His will, and to gain spiritual understanding.

We can study endlessly. We can pray without ceasing. We can worship Him in spirit and in truth. We can work hard to attain certifications, degrees and other man-made titles. But if we forget to gain spiritual understanding and we fail to be filled with the knowledge of His will, we are empty and pointless.

There is a trend today to tack titles onto our names, even within the body of Christ. Some of these titles are biblical, while others are dreamed up by man.

But it doesn’t really matter if we add a title to our name or not. What matters is where our heart is and whether we put the time and effort into pursuing God wholeheartedly and with all sincerity.

The verse above is our prayer for each and every one of you. It is our desire that every single person who reads our emails and our blog posts, and who watches our videos will be encouraged to press in to God and learn of Him, becoming a strong, potent follower of Christ.

God wants each of us to walk the path He has set before us. Sometimes it can take a bit of time for us to find that path. Sometimes it can take a while for us to get the understanding we need to take those steps.

But God is faithful. And as He patiently waits for us and He continues to lead us and show us who He is, and who He wants us to be, His mercy is never-ending and his compassion for us will never fail.

Set your eyes on Him. Let His word guide your steps and light the path before you.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-7-19

1 John 4:12 (NKJV) 12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

When people hear, see and watch us, and they see that we truly care about them or others, that love that they see will break the backbone of hardness.

This “God kind of love” takes a deliberate effort to obtain. It takes us giving way to Him daily, hourly, minute by minute. It takes surrendering our heart, mind and flesh, 24/7. In other words, we are not walking by our flesh anymore, but by His Spirit.

Romans 8:9 (NKJV) 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

The question is, can we do this?

The change comes when God is alive in us. His Holy Spirit must have a place of freedom to guide, teach and demonstrate through us. Even when we don’t understand it, we must give Him the right of way and let Him do what it takes to help us get the job done.

We may say, “how do we let the Holy Spirit do whatever needs to be done in that moment?”.

We humbly let go of what we once knew and we submit by following His promptings. Trust that as we step out, He will catch us and show us where to land our feet.

May His love be perfected in you and I as we love like no other.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-6-19

Nehemiah 4:17 (NKJV) 17 Those who built on the wall, and those who carried burdens, loaded themselves so that with one hand they worked at construction, and with the other held a weapon.

The wall surrounding Jerusalem had been destroyed. King Nebuchadnezzar was responsible for this, as Babylon destroyed Jerusalem and everything in it.

Nehemiah made it his mission to rebuild the wall, so he did whatever was necessary to secure the materials and manpower to get it done.

But there was a problem. They were opposed by many who wanted to see them fail. And the people who opposed them didn’t just speak out against them, they pledged to stop them by any means necessary, including attacking them.

Nehemiah and his people didn’t let it deter them. Instead, they worked together, not only to rebuild the wall, but to defend each other while doing so.

As mentioned above, they taught themselves to work with one hand, while holding a weapon in the other hand.

We can learn so much from this!

Many of us are guilty of letting enemies deter us, even with just their words. We hear them mocking us and we give up. We find out that they are gathering against us and we tremble with fear. We see them moving against us and we turn and run away.

But God wants us to learn how to work with one hand, while holding a weapon in the other.

Does this mean that we walk around with physical weapons in our hand? Not at all, at least not for this kind of battle. We need to learn how to fight spiritually and decimate our enemy with weapons of spiritual warfare!

God wants us to learn to watch and listen while we work! We have to learn to be discerning and potent as warriors who can work and defend ourselves at the same time.

It’s not easy to do at first. But as we press in to Him and let Him lead us by His spirit, we will get the understanding we need. And He will teach us the ways of warfare that only He knows.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV) 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds…

And as we develop the skills to work and defend at the same time, we will accomplish what He sends us to accomplish.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-5-19

Matthew 22:37-39 (NKJV) 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Dear God, help us to love You in such a way, with everything in us. And once we have learned that, help us to do the next thing and love our neighbor as our self. In Jesus’ name we ask. Amen

To love God with all our heart, soul and mind, and then love our neighbor as our self, can we all agree that change has to happen? His Spirit has to be alive in us. And we have to be disciplined to say no to our fleshly desires.

The flesh can be very strong-willed, even in a believer. It has its way of wanting to do what it wants.

If we are tired and unhealthy, we are not up for the battle. We will be more apt to give into it, even when we know it’s wrong.

The flesh will begin to change when we stay close to God, through prayer and reading His word. It will also help if we are well-rested and keeping ourselves physically healthy. These few things will all contribute to being alert and strong in our spirit man.

If we can be consistent in these things, it will make a huge difference in keeping our hearts close and in love with God.

When our heart changes, our mind and soul will follow suit and we will walk in this love on a regular basis.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-4-19

Luke 10:30-33 (NKJV) 30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

Recently we got to spend some time with a couple we had never met before.

As we sat, eating and sharing great conversation, they shared with us how the gentleman had recently been injured very badly, requiring surgery and rendering him unable to walk for a lengthy period of time. During that time, he was confined to his home.

They went on to share that during the time when he was unable to leave home, not a single person from their local church reached out to check on him. This left a scar on him. His fellow parishioners, whether intentional or not, failed him when they could have reached out and offered him encouragement, hope, help, etc.

We live in a day and age where people seem to be happier to pull out their cell phone and record people in need rather than offer to help. It’s truly sad to think that the body of Christ has fallen into the observer category instead of offering kindness and compassion.

Every one of us knows someone who could use our help in one way or another. We don’t always have to drop what we’re doing and drive somewhere to help. Sometimes all it takes is a phone call to check on someone, to encourage them, to let them know we care.

Sometimes all it takes is to stop what we’re doing and pray for them.

And, yes, sometimes it does require that we take the time to set ourselves aside and go the extra mile for someone; make them a meal, stop by to visit them, help them with a specific task that they can’t do themselves.

We carry the light of God here on earth. We represent Him in this world that’s so busy and uncaring. Let us not fall short and behave like those who do not know Him.

Let us not be like the priest and the Levite who looked at the man half dead beside the road and chose to leave him there without rendering aid.

Let us, instead, be like the Samaritan who not only helped him, but went the extra mile and made sure he was cared for even after he had left.

Luke 10:34-35 (NKJV) 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-3-19 – IF

Please click to watch the video nowGreetings brothers and sisters in Christ!

Have you ever thought about the word “IF”, and what it means to us as believers?

Actually, it’s a pretty important word for all of us, despite its very small size.

God uses if, and the principle of it a lot in His word. And its implications in our walk with Him are pretty important.

Today’s video discusses this little two-letter word and how it’s used in the Bible.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes and watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-2-19

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Today, we just want you to know that you mean the world to Papa. He cares so much for your life!

You may be feeling low, dejected or depressed. Maybe you are feeling you just can’t get things right and you don’t know what to do.

It may seem like everything you touch doesn’t turn out the way you want it to. You may have made many mistakes along the way, some small and some big. However, He loves you more than you can imagine.

Maybe you feel He is nowhere around and the quietness is killing you. Don’t turn your back on Him. He is still there.

In that stillness, God is fixing things. He is turning things. He is working on the very things that will change the direction that we need.

Rest in Him as He works everything out. Be careful to listen for His voice and follow His leading.

Psalm 36:5 (NKJV) 5 Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-1-19

Malachi 3:10 (NKJV) 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Is our money spent before we even cash our check? Are we just buying things on the spur of the moment, things that we don’t need? Are we dining out more then we dine at home?

Watching what we spend our money on and taking the time to invest it into a good place will help us to be the head and not the tail. God is willing to do His part, but are we willing to step up to the plate and do ours? He can only work with what we give Him.

Deuteronomy 28:13 (NKJV) 13 And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them.

We may not even think about God when it comes to our money. We just keep on doing what we’ve always done and leave Him out of the equation. And we find ourselves constantly in the same boat; never ahead.

God wants to help us. He wants to open for us the windows of heaven and pour out blessings.

We challenge you today, if you are not already giving to God from your firstfruits, start by setting a date and begin to put Him first on your list of expenses. Watch how things begin to change for you.

We are not saying it will happen instantly. It may or may not. But, as you are faithful and obedient with your money, you will at some point begin to see His favor working in your life. You will notice at times looking at your situation and wondering how it ever worked out the way it did. Well, that’s God!

God is good. Invest in Him. He is trustworthy and a safe place to deposit into.

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
