Bible Verse of The Day – 8-9-21

Hebrews 11:39 (NKJV) 39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise…

God’s promises are true. He is faithful to keep them.

This is something that most of us know already. But it’s good to be reminded once in a while.

On that note, it’s also good for us to understand that sometimes we may not see the fulfillment of those promises, even when God honors them and brings them to pass.

Scripture gives many examples of people who had received promises from God, but never got to see the fruition of those promises. God still fulfilled them, though, sometimes centuries later.

The timing in which God honors His promises is something that we don’t always understand. It’s also something that we may not like. But, as we all know, God knows better than us and does what is right, not what pleases us.

One of the important things that we need to watch is that the thing we are waiting on is actually a promise from God, and not just a desire that we have brought before Him in hopes of an answer.

There is a big difference between the two!

Sometimes our emotions will make it hard to differentiate between them. But if we pay close attention to the Holy Spirit, He will always be faithful to show us. We just have to be willing to listen and acknowledge what He shows us.

So, remember that if God has truly promised us something, not seeing it happen during our lifetime doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. If God promised to do it, He will, when the time is right.

Seek God. Listen carefully for His voice. Trust Him.

He is faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-21 – Prefect, or WIlling?

Please click to watch the video nowGreetings in the mighty name of Jesus!

We hope that you are walking close to God, our Father.

God loves when we put Him first. He loves when obeying Him is our heart’s desire.

In our latest video, Perfect, Or Willing?, we teach about the difference between trying to be perfect vs. obeying God.

Remember that, in God’s eyes, obedience is better than sacrifice.

This is a video that so many of us can learn from, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

We love you all immensely.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-21

Hebrews 6:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

This is one of the best direct references to maturing as a believer in the entirety of God’s word. It is direct and forthright in its intentions; to convey the importance of not “laying again the foundation” of the “elementary principles of Christ”.

This is a point often lost on many believers. It is often thought that once a person places their faith in Christ, they are good to go, so to speak; ready to move on to living their new life as a believer, but without much thought as to what that really means.

We need to understand, though, that this is far from the truth. For if we are truly putting our faith in Christ, we will want to know all we can about Him, since we are (or should be) trusting Him with our eternal destiny.

And if we are simply “putting our faith in Him” to reserve a spot in heaven, and then just want to “get on with our life”, we may want to re-think our “strategy”.

So, if we are truly putting our faith in Him, we should want to learn all we can about Him. We should be willing to spend the time needed to mature and grow. He did, after all, give His life (literally) for us in order to make a way for our sins to be forgiven.

So, as the writer of Hebrews says, we need to move beyond the basics, once we have a sound understanding of them, and begin to leave behind the “milk” in exchange for more solid foods.

Hebrews 5:13-14 (NKJV) 13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

You see, it is the learning of His word that gives us the ability to partake of, and digest, the weightier spiritual things, and to be able to learn to discern good and evil more readily.

And this is crucial for all believers, especially during the season in which we live.

So, we strongly encourage you to spend time in this mighty tool (weapon) that God has supplied us with; His word. Let’s move beyond the basic, elementary principles of Christ.

Your life depends on it, in more ways than most understand.

As we make the effort, God will give the increase.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-5-21

Jeremiah 23:23-24 (NKJV) 23 “Am I a God near at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God afar off? 24 Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.

He knows all things. He is Omniscient!

What does that mean? It means having complete or unlimited knowledge, awareness, or understanding; perceiving all things.

We may be in denial of some things we have done in the past, or maybe even today. We can try to block it out and forget it all, but until we face it and acknowledge it as truth, we are not fooling anyone but ourselves.

How do we fix such error?

We stop trying to hide or sneak around. It’s doing more harm than good. Face it, and get right with God. He will embrace you as you begin to open up and let it go. Repent and move on. Make sure our slate is clean every day.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (NKJV) 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

Remember, God already knows. He is waiting for us to make it right. If we don’t, it all comes out in the end.

God will be merciful and forgiving toward us all, even if we have many sins. He will forgive every one of them.

When we fall in love with Him, we will want to rid ourselves of anything that reminds us of everything we did that was unclean or against Him.

Luke 7:47 (NKJV) 47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-4-21

Hebrews 8:13 (NKJV) 13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

I have recently been spending a lot of time reading and re-reading the book of Hebrews. It is weighty, and chocked full of spiritual meat!

Hebrews gives spiritual insights into some very important topics, so I would strongly encourage you to read through it!

With that said, let’s talk about the scripture above, which is quite fascinating. It sheds some very bright light on a topic that is often debated among believers.

The old covenant between God and His people was what formed the foundation of their faith. Most of it was based on The Law (The Mosaic Law, The Law of Moses).

It’s important for us to understand that The Law was created by God for one purpose; to show people their sinful condition and their need for Him.

Sadly, man twisted it and perverted it by trying to follow every letter of the law and using that to try to show that they were righteous.

In reality, though, most of these people were far from God in their hearts, where it counted most. Their “righteousness” was self-created and self-promoted in piety and pride.

But God, in His infinite wisdom, knew this and had already created a new covenant; a final blood sacrifice from a spotless Lamb, Jesus Christ, God in the flesh.

So, when Jesus had been crucified, resurrected and had ascended to heaven, the old covenant became irrelevant and no longer needed. In fact, the scripture above says it was now obsolete.

You see, the veil of the temple had been torn in two, from top to bottom, when Jesus breathed his last breath.

Mark 15:37-38 (NKJV) 37 And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. 38 Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Once that veil was torn in two, the old covenant was no longer needed. We had been given direct access to the Father by way of the death of the Perfect Lamb, Jesus Christ.

Are we still trying to do everything the old way? Are we relying on our own virtue to get on God’s good side, and impress others with our religiosity?

It’s time to finally lay that old covenant down. It is obsolete.

Self-righteousness and piety be gone in Jesus’ name! Traditions and rituals are lifeless.

Let God show us and teach us His way; the new covenant, where we have direct access to Him and walk with Him in a way that the old covenant didn’t offer.

Don’t accept dead religion any longer. Walk with Him. Walk in life!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-3-21

James 1:21 (NKJV) 21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

At its heart, this scripture is referring to truly receiving God’s word. We can’t just hear it. We actually have to make an honest effort to receive it by doing what it says.

It’s just like when we were children. Mom or Dad would tell us what to do, but if we didn’t obey and do it, what happened? They took it as we weren’t listening because we did not make an effort to follow through.

You see, doing what we have been told says something. It makes a statement.

It says, “yes, I heard you clearly and I will follow through and do what I am told. I receive what you said, and I will show you through my actions”.

Our question is, are we, as God’s children, listening to His implanted word and allowing it to save us?

His implanted word can save our soul, save our marriage, save our children, save our financial situation, save our relationship with Him, save our country, etc. So, are we obeying and taking the steps to walk it out?

Or are we not even finding time to read His word,  leaving ourselves confused, walking in circles and depressed about what has taken place around us?

Pick up God’s word today and take it in. It will save our soul and anything else that is going sour in our life as we receive with meekness that implanted word and instructions on how to live, so we can get out of the mess we are in and be happy!

Proverbs 16:20 (NKJV) 20 He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he.

God bless you. Our prayers are with you. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-2-21

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

We recently had a Facebook follower ask us if God answers the prayers of the unbeliever.

We thought this was a great question, so in addition to replying to them and recording a video on the topic, we also wanted to write about it here.

Our reply to their question was short and to the point; There is only one prayer that God hears from the unbeliever.

Then we went on to clarify our answer, so here is that part also;

“There is one prayer that God hears from unbelievers; it is their prayer to ask for forgiveness for their sins.

Until then, their prayers are fruitless because their sins create a separation between them and God that can only be bridged by the blood of Christ (through a repentant heart).”

Let’s look a little more closely.

You see, when we are living apart from God, without ever having repented and placing our trust in Him, we are separated from Him by our sin.

Why? Because God is holy and pure, and He can’t even look upon sin, let alone embrace the sinner.

Yes, He loves us, even in our sinful state. But He can’t embrace us, interact with us or hear our prayers until the stain of that sin is removed by the blood of Christ.

Then things instantly change. Then the barrier that sin creates is destroyed and removed, allowing us to have direct access to Him and fellowship with Him.

Maybe this answer makes you a bit uncomfortable, and you’re questioning this, wondering what the Bible says to back this up. The scripture at the top of this devotional is one piece of proof. But here is another.

John 10:9 (NKJV) 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

You see, without Jesus, we cannot access the Father. Jesus stated that very plainly in both of these verses.

But through Jesus, we have direct access to Him!

So, we hope this will provide a Biblical answer to a question that many people ask, and maybe you have even pondered on at some point.
