Bible Verse of The Day – 6-30-25

Matthew 16:25 (LSB) 25 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Many of us tend to read God’s word, including the words of Jesus, and not always understand the seriousness of what they say or imply.

We also tend not to invest the time needed to get understanding or clarity when it comes to those same words.

It can sometimes be very intimidating to study the words we read and the topics they address. But it is important that we do so. The results we reap for our efforts will be life-altering and impactful in our relationship with God.

The words spoken by Jesus above are worth taking the time to dig into. He is, after all, talking about losing our lives, or saving them.

One of the things we can glean from this statement right away is that He is speaking symbolically.

He is not necessarily speaking about saving your physical life, although that can apply in some instances of extreme persecution.

He is speaking in the larger sense regarding handing the reins of our lives over to Him while we are alive here on earth; letting Him lead in every aspect.

As a follower of Christ, it is critical that we learn the importance of putting Him first in everything.

This can be tough when we are a new believer. We are typically taught as children that we must be self-reliant; we can depend on only ourselves.

But when God enters the equation, everything changes!

Our minds need to be retrained. We need to learn to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. Giving Him preference in everything must become a way of life.

And, finally, let us understand the importance of what Jesus was inferring.

He stated that if we try to save our lives (hold tightly to the control of them), we will ultimately lose them.

That is a significant statement that we must understand and heed. The consequences of our choice here are immense.

So let us choose wisely.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-29-25 – How To Read Your Bible

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus!

We hope each day sees you drawing closer to God.

We have a new video for you today that we hope will benefit everyone, regardless of your “spiritual age” or level of maturity in Christ.

Today’s video is called, How to Read Your Bible.

To some, that title may seem a bit odd, since the Bible is text printed on paper, and reading it should be simple. But because it is the word of God, and not just a book, it does require special consideration when it comes to reading it properly!

We hope this video will bring understanding and clarity to this topic for everyone.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all greatly!

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-28-25

Habakkuk 3:19 (NKJV) 19 The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.

Acknowledging we are in a difficult time, but having such a promise to hold onto no matter how difficult it seems, will help us to keep putting one foot in front of the other.

There is so much hope in our God!

Focusing on the right things will help us bigly to get through the season of growth and challenges! We will come through it victoriously.

Did you ever have a season that made you think you were going to die? A season that was painfully overwhelming and scary?

We have! And I remember clearly how it hurt to wake up and face it each day. But, we took away a very good lesson; don’t focus on the circumstances. Focus on God!

When seasons change and we are not sure what comes next, we must keep going, keep walking, keep thanking God, keep lifting up our hands, and give Him praise.

Psalm 121:7-8 (NKJV) 7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

The day will come and we will look back and see that we went from the valley to the Hill. And even though we were exhausted when we reached the top, it was so worth it to say, “look what God did!”

God can and will set us up to walk on high hills.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-27-25

James 1:14-15 (NKJV) 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

When we left off yesterday, we asked the question, “how and why are we tempted?”

From the verses above, we can quickly deduce that we are frequently victims of our own desires, allowing them to take root and grow within us until they lead to fully developed sin, which brings forth death.

Temptation will sometimes come from sources that we have no control over. But if we look at it honestly, we can see that we are often our own worst enemy.

So, now that we know the ways that temptation comes, it is critical that we address how to handle it when it does come.

What do we do? How do we stand strong in the face of it? How do we keep from falling to it repeatedly?

We must recognize and admit that our human flesh is not strong enough to overcome temptation on its own. This is especially true when we are dealing with sin that has a powerful grip on us, leading us to fall to it every time we face it.

If our flesh were strong enough to overcome it, we would not continually collapse beneath its weight, growing weary from the battle it presents. And we would not need God.

We need to confess our weakness and recognize that God is our only true source of help and hope.

That begins with knowing He will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear and knowing that with every temptation He provides a way of escape.

We find hope in this; He provides a way of escape.

We must grab hold of the escape mechanism that He provides if we truly want to be free.

What is that way of escape? It will likely be different for every person and for every situation. The most important thing is knowing that there is a way out in every instance.

Here’s the biggest question for us to consider; will we heed the Holy Spirit’s promptings and take the step or steps that God is showing us as a means of escaping it?

Will we choose to break free from repetitive sin, follow God’s leading and live?

Or will we ignore the help offered to us by God Himself, choosing death?

Only we can answer that one. And the response we give will show whether we are truly serious about defeating temptation and sin in our lives.

Go with God, and live!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-26-25

1 Corinthians 10:13 (LSB) 13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

We recently had a question posed regarding temptation, and whether God purposely exposes us to temptation to refine us.

It is a valid question that we can all learn from, so let us address it here and see what God’s word tells us.

Does God tempt us, or does He allow us to be tempted?

This is the first distinction we need to make.

There is a significant difference between being the one who tempts and allowing us to be tempted.

God’s word clearly tells us that God will never tempt anyone. It also states that we should never blame God for our temptations.

James 1:13 (LSB) 13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

Who does the Bible say the tempter is?

We can see clearly who it is when we examine Jesus being tempted in the desert.

Matthew 4:3 (LSB) 3 And the tempter came and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

It is also important to note that 1 Corinthians 10:13 (above) says that he will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can endure.

The word, “allow”, indicates that God is aware of all temptation we encounter, and that in some circumstances, just as He did with Job, gave His permission for it to happen.

To summarize, based on the verses above, we can determine that God never tempts us. And, in fact, it is the devil who is referred to as “the tempter”.

So, when we are tempted, how or why does it befall us?

We will investigate this tomorrow.

We hope you will join us!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-25-25

Matthew 6:9 (AMPC) 9 Pray, therefore, like this

To a new believer, and even to some longtime believers, prayer is a mystery; something that they are uncertain how to approach.

Many people feel unsure, inadequate, or even incapable of praying in what they would consider to be a “proper” manner.

But we must understand that prayer was never intended to be poetic or formal. It is intended to be sincere, heartfelt, and genuine; not scripted or oratorically perfect.

Thankfully, Jesus taught His disciples, and the people who heard Him speak, how to pray.

And it is incredibly simple!

In His model prayer, Jesus shared that we are to address God reverently, giving Him the glory and reverence He is due: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

He then taught us that we must put God’s kingdom and His will first; Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Next, He taught us how to present our needs to God; Give us this day our daily bread.

We must put our needs before our wants and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in what we petition God for. It is not necessarily wrong to ask for things that are not essentials, but it is more desirable to pray for the needs of others than for our own wants.

Jesus then showed us the importance of seeking forgiveness; Forgive our debts (sins) as we forgive those who sin against us.

Seeking God’s forgiveness for our sins is essential if we wish to keep our walk with God close-knit. Seeking forgiveness also involves repentance; sincere remorse and turning away from sin.

We must also forgive those who have sinned against us if we expect to be forgiven by God.

And, finally, we ask for God’s protection against temptation, petitioning Him for deliverance from evil; do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

It is God, via the Holy Spirit, who delivers us from evil. We cannot deliver ourselves. Others cannot deliver us. This cannot be accomplished by human will or human desire. We must heed the Holy Spirit’s leading!

As you can see, praying is not complicated. If we follow the model prayer of Jesus, He has presented it to us in a simple, easy-to-understand format that removes the mystery.

Prayer is heart-to-heart communication with God. It need not be eloquent or poetic.

In fact, prayer in its raw form is rarely either of these things. It is passionate, heartfelt, and powerful for great victories in spiritual battles.

Take the time to pray. Start simply. Obey the voice of God. And let Him grow your prayer life.

And watch your walk with God flourish as you grow as His child.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-24-25

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

I don’t see the wind, but I hear it and feel it at times. It moves the branches and blows my hair. Thus I know it’s real.

With God, I don’t see Him standing in front of me. But I see Him in everything around me. I feel His touch at times and I know it was Him.

When we know, we know!

I have been living this life as a believer for some time now. And just the other day as I laid in my bed, slowly waking up from a good night’s sleep, a few things came to my mind.

One of them was how powerful God is!

I pondered things that have come to me by way of God opening doors. And because of that, here I am today, in North Carolina.

I realized that most of the steps I have taken were ordained by God, and they brought me to this place.

I often find myself saying, “where am I?” This was especially true after we left all we knew, and moved to a new land.

And “what am I doing here in this place?”

I don’t always understand. But I do acknowledge Him and His ways before my own.

I understand now that He knew all along. He planned my journey for me. I just needed to trust Him even when I didn’t know how to do some of it.

There have been a few things that, even today, I still cannot believe how I or we, my husband and I, did it.

I know now it was not ever us. But in the past I thought  differently. I didn’t see the big picture. I simply thought we were making decisions that were good and life was just happening.

But life doesn’t just happen if you truly trust God with the reins!

God has guided me in ways that I can’t even explain. He has prompted me at times without me even knowing.

And I’ve made decisions based on the promptings I was feeling at that moment and hour, not giving it any thought that it was God; His Spirit leading me.

God is truly powerful. His understanding is so far beyond what we can contain in our minds.

Don’t worry today if you are in a place you’re not familiar with. Don’t go back to what you knew. He will unfold the new thing before you as you stay true.

Trust His promptings and guidance. If you are following Him, you are RIGHT where you need to be.

2 Samuel 22:31 (NKJV) 31 As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-23-25

Philippians 2:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

This verse is a good reminder for all of us from time to time.

We are a child of God because we made a conscious choice to do so.

We have each chosen to walk with God. We have chosen to be saved.

And salvation comes to us through that choice.

But then what? What do we do with our lives after making the choice to become a follower of Christ?

Do we simply move on as though it never happened?

Absolutely not! That step that we took to be saved was just the beginning of what is meant to be a lifelong journey to our eternal dwelling place with our Father.

We should make the most of this sojourn to present ourselves before Him that He will say to us, “well done, my good and faithful child.”

Going forward, we must walk it out. We must take deliberate steps to learn and grow as a believer.

We must think of it like a student who is working toward a goal, or an athlete who is training for a trophy. Neither of these can reach their goals if they aren’t diligent and steadfast in their endeavors.

As it is with us.

No, salvation is never about works. But our relationship with God is only as strong as we make it.

So, let us understand the seriousness of this walk we call Christianity, and run the race as though we are running for the prize.

Because we are. And that prize is the crown of life.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-21-25

Psalm 37:3 (NKJV) 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

As we trust God, He will show us His faithfulness!

You say, “well He hasn’t answered me yet. I don’t see any changes. Where is He? Why hasn’t my situation turned around? It’s been a long while.”

This is the number one problem with us as Christians. Although we say we trust God and we want what He wants for us, we spend too much time thinking and looking for the answer while we are supposed to be waiting.

We need to let Him do His work; stop looking over His shoulder.

How would we like it if our boss was always looking over our shoulder when he or she has given us something to do, knowing we can handle it?

It would get annoying very quickly!

If we truly give it to God, we will stop focusing on it.

We will move on now. He’s got it. He will let us know if He needs us for anything. Remember, we trust Him with it.

This is a nice reminder for us all today. Feed on His faithfulness!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-20-25

Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV) 13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

As followers of Christ, our lives will be different than the lives of those around us.

We are not what the world would consider normal. We have chosen the “narrow gate”.

We do not live by flesh or things of the natural. We do not “live by bread alone”, as stated in Deuteronomy 8:3.

We live by the words that come from the mouth of God.

Because of this, our lives are set apart from those who live by the flesh, chasing after satisfaction in temporal things; momentary gratification.

Will our lives be better because of our choice to walk it with God?

By the world’s standards? No, they won’t.

This road is narrow and less populated. It can be lonely at times. It may cause us to question ourselves and our choices if we allow the enemy to get in our heads.

But pay no attention to those voices. They are the voices of the enemy and his demons.

They may even be the voices of your friends or family telling you to give it up; have “fun” and do what feels good because we only live once!

But those are the voices of the lost, and often the miserable, looking for company.

Yes, we may feel lonely from time to time. We may suffer because of the choice we made to follow Christ and walk the narrow path. This is true.

But we do have joy!

Our joy is not found in the things of the world. It is found in knowing that we are walking with God; the One who created us and breathed life into our lungs.

It is found in the things of God, as He transforms us.

And it is found in knowing that we are walking toward a kingdom that will last forever, where God will reside with us, and we will live in His presence forever.

So, let us remember that we were never promised that our life here would be easy or trouble-free. We were promised that if we trust Him, and we endure to the end, we will reap life eternal.

James 1:12 (LSB) 12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

And this, my brothers and sisters, is what life in Christ is all about; salvation eternal.
