Bible Verse of The Day – 6-19-25

Matthew 7:16 (NKJV) 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?

We are all on this journey as believers together. Let us help each other. We should not give up on ourselves or others.

It’s hard sometimes. And we all need that extra love or encouragement to keep us moving forward trying to get it right.

But how can we tell if we or others are getting it right? By the fruit that we see.

Now we can have all the pretty words and the right expressions when we are out in public places or around certain folks. We can hide things from each other pretty well.

But, the fruit of what we are doing behind the scenes will eventually show up.

Watch for the fruit!

It’s the fruit of our actions that will show us what’s truly in our hearts. Is that fruit sweet or rotten?

No one wants to eat of a rotten or bitter fruit.

We must be attentive about doing things that we know are wrong.

We can’t just blow it off or overlook it. We need to make a mental note that we will try to do better if it comes around again.

This is how we grow as a believer, watching for the fruit, acknowledging what we did or said, and working on the changes that we need to make with the help of the Holy Spirit.

If we really want to know where we are in our spiritual walk, the proof is in the fruit!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-18-25

Psalm 3:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Lord, how they have increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. 2 Many are they who say of me, “There is no help for him in God.” Selah

Many may look at the lives of those who are wealthy, or those who are in power, and may long for their life to be like theirs.

We often believe that wealth, power, or popularity lead to fairytale lives with no problems.

But this is a falsehood; a figment of our human imaginations.

King David had it all; power, wealth, popularity, and God’s favor. But he still faced very difficult situations that caused him great fear and anguish.

In the verses above he was crying out to God as he was being betrayed by one of his own sons, Absalom, who was trying to claim David’s throne as king.

Yes. His own son was endangering his life and his position as the rightful, anointed leader of Gods people.

He had fled the palace and was in hiding, trying desperately to save his own life and the lives of those around him.

Was he afraid? Of course!

But did he abandon his faith in God? Absolutely not!

Despite his fears and the desperation of his situation, he called out to God, because that’s where his trust was!

What are we facing today? What is making us fearful? What obstacle seems insurmountable?

Whatever it is, trust God with it. Call out to Him. And if He asks you to do something, to take steps as part of the solution to your dilemma, be sure to obey Him.

Life can be scary sometimes. And with man this may seem impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-17-25

Romans 1:20 (NKJV) 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,

We are without excuse.

We can never stand before Him and say, “I didn’t know there was a God.”

Since the beginning of creation, all we have to do is look around us to know that there is a God; a very powerful One indeed!

If we can’t see that through the created world, then we are in serious denial. And that denial will destroy all that He has for us here and after life.

God created the Heavens, the earth, and all of us to worship and serve Him.

It was not for us to make a name for ourselves, or to claim our successes as our own.

The story we make here revolves around Him. He wants to be number ONE in our story!

He made a way for us to commune with Him, and the opportunity for us to dwell with Him for eternity.

And He calls us to Himself through His precious Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. With Him we shall not perish.

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus came to save and redeem us from our sins. Why? Because God cannot look upon sin!

And if we deny Him, He will deny us.

2 Timothy 2:12 (NKJV) 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

We have no excuse today. We have every opportunity to know Him; to see Him, and even to walk with Him daily.

Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-25

Micah 6:8 (NKJV) 8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?

Have you ever noticed that we humans tend to overcomplicate things?

We do it in many aspects of our lives. And we often do it in our walk with God.

Sometimes we need to pay attention to the simple things. The things that are right in front of us but somehow overlooked.

Here are some examples.

Loving God.

Do we get so caught up in the hows and whys that we lose sight of the actual act of loving Him?

Do we put more emphasis on our theology and our doctrine than on our relationship with Him?

Loving others.

Have we allowed our “status” as a child of God to cloud our vision and cause us to look at others as being less than we are?

Do we speak the name of Jesus, but forget how Jesus walked here on earth, healing the sick and lifting the brokenhearted, sharing God’s love with them?

Doing the right thing.

Have we forgotten that we are ambassadors for Christ, called to walk out the call of God on our lives with our actions and our behavior?

Keeping our word.

The Bible says in Mathew 5:37 that we must let our yes be yes, and our no be no. We need to be true to our word, doing the righteous thing when faced with difficult choices.

Make no mistake. It is important for us to learn the deeper things; the mysteries of God.

But in the process of doing that, let us also remember the simpler things!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-15-25 – How Do I Pray?

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus 😊

We pray that you are growing in your walk with God each day.

Last week we promised a new video that would teach us how to pray. This is a topic that is much misunderstood by many, so we wanted to put something together that would provide a foundational teaching about “how to pray.”

This new video, “How Do I Pray?”, is a great lesson for new believers and older believers alike, especially if you struggle with praying.

We hope that what we share will bring clarity and understanding to everyone.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all immensely.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-25

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) 1 To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven…

Seasons come and seasons go. That is for sure, both in the natural world, and in our daily lives!

I have learned with God that our walk is always changing. He brings excitement and challenges all at the same time.

He can help us learn to let go of everything, and then give us more than we ever thought we would have or obtain.

I think of Abraham and his son Isaac, how God tested Abraham by telling him to sacrifice his only son, Isaac.

And when Abraham had decided in his heart to do just that, he was ready. And the Angel of the Lord said to Abraham, “don’t touch him.”

Genesis 22:12 (NKJV) 12 And He said, “Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

It’s always going to be something when we travel this road of Christianity.

It will never get to a point where it is stale. God will keep us flowing and moving forward. He keeps it exciting and testing our every bit of growth that comes on this journey.

If there is change in your life today, you see it, smell it, and feel it. Make sure it is “God change”. And when you know it is, embrace it with everything in you.

He will guide your steps every day and through every move He puts in front of you. Remember, you are not made to do it by yourself; He is with you!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-25

John 4:24 (NKJV) 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

It doesn’t matter where one worships God. What’s important is the attitude of one’s heart.

Getting our hearts right with Him will cause a purification of our hearts, leading us into a beautiful place of worship with a sincere and genuine attitude.

Psalm 51:10 (NKJV) 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

When He works on our heart, we will be able to see the changes in ourselves.

We will see a humbling within ourselves. We will begin to become more submissive and obedient to the things we learn in His word.

Over time, we will change. And we will love the things of God more than we do the things of the world.

Our heart joins with Him, and we become ambassadors for Christ. We represent Him by the changes within our newly-cleaned heart.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Our boasting is no longer about us, but He becomes our praise.

The more time we spend with Him, the cleaner our heart gets. The deeper our understanding, the greater revelation we have of Who He is.

Fall at His feet today and worship the King of Kings. Almighty God is He!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-12-25

Habakkuk 3:15-16 (NLT) 15 You trampled the sea with your horses, and the mighty waters piled high. 16 I trembled inside when I heard this; my lips quivered with fear. My legs gave way beneath me, and I shook in terror. I will wait quietly for the coming day when disaster will strike the people who invade us.

As Habakkuk penned the words that would bring his prophecy/prayer to a close, he invoked imagery from the parting of the Red Sea — where God rescued the Israelites with a magnificent display of His power and might by separating the waters and creating a path for His people to cross safely, even as the Egyptian army closed in behind them.

He expressed the terror that he felt as he heard these words from God; his lips quivered with fear, his legs folded beneath him, and he shook with terror.

This prophecy was like nothing Habakkuk had heard before. Its vividness caused him to melt with fear and trembling.

And yet, despite all of this, he affirmed his faith, confidence, and trust in God, stating that he would wait quietly for the day when God would punish those who invaded them.

Now that we’ve learned a little about Habakkuk, what can we learn from him?

How can we use the words and insights in Habakkuk’s prayer/prophecy to strengthen our own walk with God?

It’s safe to say that Habakkuk trusted God immensely. He understood and accepted God’s sovereignty, even when what he was seeing didn’t make sense or seem fair.

He listened to what God told him through the Holy Spirit. And yes, it sometimes terrified him. But he took it at more than face value.

And when he recognized what God was saying, instead of arguing with Him, he cried out for His mercy.

This is a valuable lesson for us all. We can only cry out for God’s mercy when we have accepted His will and His plans and submitted ourselves to Him.

This is a sign of our trust in Him, and it demonstrates maturity as a believer.

The lessons over the last few days were put together, not necessarily to learn about Habakkuk, but to help us step outside the “normal” boundaries of our routine thinking when it comes to Bible devotionals, and the things that we tend to study repeatedly.

Habakkuk is a great example of learning from the obscure; being willing to look at the seemingly insignificant things, and gleaning understanding and wisdom from those things.

We hope you have enjoyed this series.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-11-25

Habakkuk 3:3 (LSB) 3 God comes from Teman, And the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah. His splendor covers the heavens, And the earth is full of His praise.

As Habakkuk spoke the words of his appeal to God, he painted an image of God rescuing His people.

Verse 3, above, was just one of many verses written by this method.

His imagery was largely drawn from past experiences and happenings involving the nation of Israel and God’s covenant people.

The Jews were known for their idolatry; spiritual adultery committed against God.

This frequently resulted in God’s chastening of His people. The punishment would often involve purging the idolaters in massive numbers. Seeing this would cause the remaining Israelites to repent and humble themselves before God, at least for a time.

Habakkuk’s cry was that God would once again purge the idolaters as in days gone by instead of allowing the nation to be ransacked and marauded by outsiders, with people being exiled to foreign lands in mass numbers.

Habakkuk 3:4-5 (LSB) 4 His brightness is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And there is the hiding of His strength. 5 Before Him goes pestilence, And plague comes after Him.

As we continue through chapter 3, we see numerous allusions to these past events.

Verses 4-5 above revisit God’s dealings with Pharoah, as He punished him for not releasing His people from their slavery in Egypt.

And here, in verse 6, Habakkuk reinforces God’s sovereignty as he recounts the events that took place at creation.

Habakkuk 3:6 (NKJV) 6 He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting.

And as Habakkuk continued, he painted a picture of the future redemption of God’s people.

Habakkuk 3:10-11 (NKJV) 10 The mountains saw You and trembled; The overflowing of the water passed by. The deep uttered its voice, And lifted its hands on high. 11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of Your glittering spear.

Habakkuk trusted God and His plan for the Israelites, even though he struggled to understand what he was seeing in the present.

Please join us again tomorrow as we bring this study to a close.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-10-25

Habakkuk 3:1 (NKJV) 1 A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth.

Welcome back. Let’s continue!

Habakkuk’s name is said to mean, “embrace” or “one who embraces”.

That name is fitting. And the accuracy of it becomes obvious the further into the book we read, as we see Habakkuk embracing and clinging to God despite not understanding His ways.

What else can we learn about Habakkuk?

Because he introduced himself in Habakkuk 1:1 as simply, the prophet Habakkuk, it is believed that he was likely well known in his day. It has been well established that he was a contemporary of Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, and Zephaniah.

Further, Habakkuk’s writings differed from most other OT prophets of God in that they did not address Judah or Israel directly. Instead, he speaks to God about what he sees taking place around him.

Many of the questions Habakkuk asks God are similar to the words spoken by Job as he questioned God’s ways, His judgements, and His seeming lack of justice regarding evildoers.

Habakkuk’s words were sincere, passionate, and heartfelt, not accusatory. There was no malice intended in his inquiries of God.

So, with this background in place, and these things established, let’s move forward with Habakkuk’s prayer, which runs from Habakkuk 3:1 through 3:16.

Habakkuk 3:2 (NKJV) 2 O Lord, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.

If we look at Habakkuk 3:2, we will see that he is making an impassioned plea for God to “revive” His work in the midst of the years. What was he referring to?

Habakkuk was pleading with God to protect and restore Israel as He had done in past situations; to prevent the land from being invaded and overtaken by evil rulers from foreign lands.

God’s practice in years past was to purge His covenant people and restore them to righteousness.

But in this instance, it seemed that God would not protect Israel or Judah, allowing them instead to be conqured and chastened by way of captivity and exile to foreign lands of heathen, pagan people.

More tomorrow…

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-9-25

Habakkuk 1:2 (LSB) 2 How long, O Yahweh, will I call for help, And You will not hear? I cry out to You, “Violence!” Yet You do not save.

If we step back, and we view our walk with God from a distance, we may see that it (our walk with Him) has become a practice of repetition; a series of routines carried out repeatedly each day, each week, and each month.

We didn’t intend for this to happen. In fact, we probably understood before it happened that a relationship based on rituals and repetition is, at best, a weak relationship.

But here we are.

And if we’re honest, we will likely admit that we have in fact become at least slightly mechanical in our relationship with the God who created us.

But God is merciful, and He knows our heart.

He is a God of endless chances, and He wants us to recognize these things so we can make the necessary corrections and adjustments to restore the joy and fervor in our relationship with Him!

And it’s on that note that we will be looking at a “Prayer of Habakkuk”.

We may have heard about the “Prayer of Jabez” at some point in our journey, but never about Habakkuk. There are likely various reasons for this. One of them may involve the simplicity of the prayer of Jabez vs. the intricacies and the nature of Habakkuk’s prayer.

Nonetheless, taking the time to study Habakkuk’s prayer is worthwhile. So, let’s do that.

This will not be a deep dive, so to speak. Think of it as a study that will help us look outside of our normal study routines, with the hopes that it will cause us to ponder some things of God that we are less likely to ponder unless we are encouraged to do so.

As a foundation for this study, we may want to know a little about who Habakkuk was.

Let’s see what we can come up with.

Habakkuk was an Old Testament prophet who penned the book that bears his name.

He is little-known and is one of the 12 “minor prophets”.

As with the most “minor prophets”, there is virtually nothing known about Habakkuk’s personal life or his history. Most of what is known is derived or inferred from the words he penned in the book bearing his name.

We will continue with this study tomorrow!
