Bible Verse of The Day – 7-28-22

John 8:31-32 (NKJV) 31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Jesus is talking to the Jews in the scripture above. But what He said applies to anyone who believes today.

While speaking, He makes the statement, “if you abide in my Word”.

To “abide in My word” means to obey or follow what He tells us to do through the scriptures.

Above, He told them, you are my disciples, and you will know Who I am. And Your faith in Me will set you free.

You see, we are all in a different place, going through different battles and struggles in our walk. And we need to know what to do if we want to make it through. We need deliverance, and Jesus Christ can do just that!

Someone right now is struggling with sickness. Someone right now is struggling with addictions. Someone right now is struggling with lust. Someone right now is struggling with control issues.

Someone right now is struggling with fear. Someone right now is struggling with greed, and someone right now is struggling with anger.

Someone right now is struggling with obesity and addictions to food. Someone right now is struggling with idol worshipping… the list can go on.

God knows, we are not alone with our struggles. And He knows we want to be free from them.

If we trust Him to walk us through it, and we truly listen to His advice through scripture reading and godly counsel, He will bring freedom to every problem we have.

Jesus Christ will set us free from so many things in our daily lives. But most importantly, if we believe in Him and obey, we will be free from sin, and we will spend eternity with Him!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-27-22

Isaiah 53:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.

The 53rd chapter of Isaiah is an incredible group of prophecies regarding Jesus (the coming Messiah) that are greatly detailed.

They are so detailed, in fact, that there is no way any man could have predicted these things based on human knowledge, understanding, or by guessing.

The events recorded in the New Testament proved every one of these prophecies to be 100% accurate.

This particular group of verses speaks of the fact that Jesus was looked down upon by the very people He would ultimately die for.

One part mentions that “He was numbered with the transgressors”.

Another translation (NLT) says “He was counted among the rebels” (those who rebelled against the Law).

Despite the hatred that was demonstrated and carried out against Him, He willingly laid down His life, with no resistance whatsoever.

He forsook His own human will to do the will of the Father, even to the point of death on a cross, which was considered by the Jews to be a curse.

Galatians 3:13 (NKJV) 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

It is virtually impossible for us to ever completely comprehend what He went through for us. The struggle with His own human desires to live were clearly weighing on Him as the time for His crucifixion drew near.

The pain and torment He experienced as they whipped, beat and hung Him on the cross were all endured solely to pay the price for the sins that you and I committed. It was not for anything He had done; He was perfect and spotless.

Yet He did it voluntarily, putting the will of the Father before His own will.

This is Jesus; the One who laid down His life for humanity, offering us redemption and life eternal. Whether we accept His offer is up to us.

Will you accept it?

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-26-22

Ecclesiastes 5:10 (NKJV) 10 He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.

Wealth and material gain will not bring satisfaction to our human soul. It is intrinsically elusive, meaning very hard to attain and hold onto.

There is a difference in wealth that has been sought after and wealth that has come by the hand of God. Wealth that comes by the hand of God has no curse associated with it.

God will bring wealth to those who can handle it. And we can only handle it if we look at it as not being ours, but His.

Let Him do with it what He wants to do.

If He wants to help someone or bless them with what He has blessed us with, let Him have full rule over what He has put in our possession.

There are times when God wants to bless His child with riches and wealth. He just wants us to rejoice in the fruits of our labor. We can’t let it go to our head. This is a gift from God, not man.

Enjoy and be grateful. Remain humble and carry on.

Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NKJV) 19 As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.

God’s gifts to us come in many shapes and sizes, but there will be no greater gift than Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ!

Let Him bring His gifts of wealth and riches, etc. to us as He sees fit. And let us receive them with joy.

But remember the most important gift, Jesus Christ; the One who will keep us close to the Father. He will teach us how to handle all other gifts through His guidance, and keep them in their proper place.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-25-22

Luke 21:29-31 (NKJV) 29 Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. 30 When they are already budding, you see and know for yourselves that summer is now near. 31 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near.

Jesus spent much of His time trying to get people, including His disciples, to learn to recognize the things that they see.

He did this by way of parables, using natural, earthly examples to represent spiritual, heavenly things or events.

In the verses above, look what He used; trees.

He told the people that when trees blossomed, they knew that summer was near.

Makes sense, right?

But then He used that same example to jar them awake, stating that “when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near”.

“These things” is a list of events that He spoke of to let the people know what signs to look for that would indicate “the end” is near.

In His own way, He was being a bit witty, trying to get the people to open their (spiritual) eyes and see everything (His presence) right in front of them.

He wanted badly for them to “get it”, but He knew that some would and others would not.

And so it is today. There is so much happening. We are speeding into end times events, the signs of the time are all around us, and there are still some who do not see.

Luke 21:34-35 (NKJV) 34 “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. 35 For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.

Let us not be fooled by anyone. And let us not be so caught up in the things of the world and the cares of life that we fail to see what’s right in front of us.

These are critical times that we are living in, and it’s imperative that we keep our spirit, our eyes and our ears focused on the One who holds it all in His hands, that we not be caught off guard and miss what He is saying.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-23-22

John 9:31 (NKJV) 31 Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

Some people wonder why God is not answering them, and they go through so much complication in their life.

They’ve lost so much, and now they are hard from life itself and the things that have beaten them down.

God can not hear from a sinner. If someone has not truly accepted God’s Son, Jesus Christ, who is the way that He has made for us all to be able to communicate with Him, then He can not hear from them.

In order for Him to hear us and be able to help us, we must first acknowledge His Son and believe in Him. When we do this, we will find ourselves truly worshiping Him and living our lives to please Him and obey Him.

It’s a sure thing. Our prayers will be heard and He will guide us, protect us and provide for us.

Wow! Let us believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, worship Him in truth, and do His will, that He in return will hear us.

John 4:24 (NKJV) 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-22-22

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

The phrase, “you were bought at a price” has always intrigued me.

What it infers is so bluntly true, but so easily missed if we’re not careful. In a nutshell, it says that if we have been born again, if we are true followers of Christ, we do not belong to ourselves. We belong to God.

And then what does it say?

It says, “therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s”.

This drives home the fact that we are not our own. And in doing so, it also states very plainly that we are to glorify God in our bodies, which belong to Him.

Let’s think about that for a minute so we can take in and try to grasp the magnitude of what it’s saying; our body and our spirit should be used to glorify God.

This is huge. It’s something that we need to get into our spirit, so we begin living it out in our bodies.

And look at the next time this phrase is used.

1 Corinthians 7:23 (NKJV) 23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

Notice how that verse ends?

Do not become slaves of men! This further emphasizes the fact that our bodies should be used to glorify God.

If we became slaves of men, and the ways of man, we would be bound (literally in bondage) to worldly human practices, which glorify the enemy of our souls.

But once we understand that we are not our own, we will be more likely to run from earthly, human ways, and more apt to run toward God and His ways, separating ourselves from the ways of the world.

Let’s remind ourselves, every minute of every day, that we are not our own. We were bought at a price.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-22

John 8:58 (NKJV) 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

What does it mean when He says, “I AM”?

Abraham’s life had a specific beginning, however with Jesus, He was the ever-present One. He was with the Father before the world was formed.

John 17:5 (NKJV) 5 And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

He is before all things. And in Him all things consist! Consist means, to hold or stand together.

He was the sustainer and uniting principle of the universe.

Hallelujah!

He is before the day. He was before the world was formed, and before the mountains were brought forth!

Colossians 1:17 (NKJV) 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

He is everything and in control of all history. His power is absolute! Nothing can change Him. He will be the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

He is the great I AM. Amen!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-20-22

Luke 17:26-27 (NKJV) 26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.

Men, women, boys and girls, we need to be on high alert.

No, this is not a scare tactic. This is not us saying that Jesus is coming back tomorrow. This is not even us saying that Jesus is coming back next year.

Nobody knows the day or the hour but God the Father Himself.

Matthew 24:36 (NKJV) 36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

What we are saying, though, is that we are in a season where heightened awareness and sharp discernment is needed.

We are in a season where we need to be watching God and keeping our focus on Him like never before.

We absolutely cannot afford to be like those in the days of Noah. It is imperative that we take God at His word and trust that He is true in everything He has forewarned us about through His prophets when it comes to the last days.

The people in Noah’s day mocked and ridiculed Him right up until the very minute that He closed the door on the ark and the rains began coming down.

The people of Sodom and Gomorra lived like nothing was wrong right up until God began raining fire and brimstone down on that city and they all perished because of their horrific perversion and sin.

Let us not be like any of them, brushing God’s warnings aside and living like His promises are not true.

This isn’t even referring to sin in our lives. Yes, that’s very important. But this is referring to our attitude toward the events that we’re seeing all around us across the entire globe.

These events should be grabbing our attention and causing us to inquire of God, looking to Him for the answers.

And our discernment should be kicked into high gear by now, helping us to understand better what we’re seeing.

And let us not be like Lot’s wife, who disobeyed the angels of God and looked back as the city was destroyed, losing her life instantly because she didn’t take those warnings seriously.

Draw near to God. Trust Him with everything. And take His warning seriously as we push ahead in these prophetic times.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-19-22

James 1:19 (NKJV) 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.

Swift to hear…

Listening to what is going on around us is crucial in our daily walk with God. There is so much we can hear and discern when we  listen. Slow down enough so we can hear.

Don’t be so busy and caught up in things that our ears are stopped up. A lot of good choices and decisions come from listening.

Slow to speak…

Why do some feel like they have to always be talking? They never stop. They might even talk in their sleep if they could.

Why is that?

They want to be heard. They want to be the center of attention. They think what they have to say is so important that everyone wants to hear it.

Those are the very people who never let you finish what you have to say. They interrupt you, and you never get out what you started to say. A lot of it comes from being self-absorbed.

And then there is slow to wrath…

Anger is one thing that can stop any relationship. It can put a damper on what could be a beautiful and healthy relationship.

No one wants to be around a hot-tempered person. It’s uncomfortable and makes us feel like we have to walk on pins and needles.

It also feels very controlling. You feel like if you don’t do or say what they want or the way they want, you have to listen to them go off.

We need to examine our own selves today, and if we fit into these categories, we need to ask the Holy Spirit to help us temper ourselves and teach us how to handle our responses better.

We need His help to be considerate in our hearing, talking and responding.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-18-22

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Want to know how to hear from God? Draw near to Him.

Want God’s protection in your life? Draw near to Him.

Want God to help you avoid temptation and break the bonds of sin in your life? Draw near to Him.

Want to know how to better understand God and His ways?

You guessed it; draw near to Him.

So many of us want to know God better, want Him to show us things and want Him to bless our lives.

The key to all of this is to put Him first in everything and to draw near to Him.

Don’t let anyone complicate it for you. It’s not as hard as some might make it sound.

Yes, God is very deep, and His mysteries are beyond human intellect. But He doesn’t make it complicated for us to get close to Him.

We just have to have a strong desire to do so, and then we need to put forth the proper amount of effort to make that happen.

So, if you’re longing to be closer to God, seek Him. But don’t just seek Him casually. Seek Him with your whole heart!

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
