Bible Verse of The Day – 7-13-25 – Keep Your Lamp Full

Please click to watch the video.Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus!

We have an important question today.

Is our lamp full of oil?

Are we like the wise virgins, or the foolish virgins Jesus referred to in one of His teachings?

That is the question we ask and discuss in our newest video, Keep Your Lamp Full.

In this video, we discuss the symbolism of what Jesus said, and then we teach about the real-life everyday application of it in each of our lives.

We hope you enjoy the video!

We love you all, and we pray for God’s best in your lives 🙏

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-12-25

Mark 9:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

When we realize we don’t have to fight this battle on our own, what a relief it is!

We all want the help. We just find it hard to ask.

We have all kinds of excuses or reasons. But the most frequent one is we don’t want to bother anyone.

Or maybe we simply don’t want people to know that we are having a hard time. We don’t even want God to know.

And thus we miss the powerful answer He gives us in this scripture; praying and fasting.

We need to realize there are seasons of life that can be very hard to deal with on our own. They will crush us if we don’t ask Him for help.

Maybe someone today is there right now.

Prayer and fasting are powerful together. They are what gets us from A to Z. From lost to victory. From hurting to joyful! From failing to conquering! From anxious to peaceful!

They are not optional…but a must in certain situations.

Let us join together with you in prayer and fasting, that you may get past this crisis and see the hand of God move on your behalf!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-11-25

Luke 6:45 (LSB) 45 The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil. For his mouth speaks from the abundance of his heart.

Here we are, and it’s already Friday!

Let’s talk again today about the human heart ❤️

No, this is not about ventricles, chambers, or aortae. It is about the condition of our heart, where everything that we do emanates from.

What is described in the Bible as the heart is symbolic. It represents our soul, our will, and the mechanism by which we make decisions.

We choose right or wrong based on the condition of what the Bible refers to as our heart.

Despite it being symbolic, and not at all related to the physical muscle that pumps blood throughout our bodies, this concept is critical in our daily lives.

It is a truth that is far-reaching, with implications in every aspect of life.

We can do things to protect our physical heart; eat right, exercise, etc.

But when it comes to the mechanism by which we make choices, there is no amount of proper diet or physical exercise that can help it obey God and make right choices.

The only thing that can help us in that area is to love God and immerse ourselves in His word.

As mentioned previously, it is our love for God that causes us to obey Him and want to honor Him with our lives.

And that love and reverence for Him will not grow if we fail (or refuse) to spend time in His word.

Yes, we have free will. We can choose what to do or not do. We can read and study His word, or we can choose not to.

But our lives will reflect our choices even in this. And our relationship with God will grow or stay small and weak based on what we choose.

Let us choose to love God above all else, that we would honor Him with every action we take, letting His light and His love shine through us onto everyone and everything around us.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-10-25

John 14:14 (NKJV) 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

One evening when we were on the lake, the clouds were very dark, and the sky looked ominous.

We had just put the boat in the water. And I was a little nervous because here in the south the weather is different than the north. Thunder and lightning storms hit quickly, and the rain is very abundant!

I was praying, “please, God take these clouds away. We want to enjoy our evening.”

As I looked around, it seemed like nothing was changing at all. The clouds weren’t moving. It was like they just hung over the lake.

We got out our rods and began fishing, while keeping a close eye on the sky. And we stayed close to shore, just in case we had to pull off quickly.

As we proceeded to fish and enjoy the evening, the clouds began to change. Right in the middle was an opening, and a beautiful ray of light shown through it!

I thought, ah how beautiful God is!

Then the clouds began to thin and change direction. And we had the most amazing evening of fishing while enjoying such a gorgeous sunset!

Ask, and move on. Sometimes that’s all it takes.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-9-25

1 Samuel 15:22 (LSB 22 And Samuel said, “Has Yahweh as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of Yahweh? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

Happy Wednesday!

Today we’d like to continue with a topic that we discussed on Monday; obeying God.

As we also mentioned on Monday, everything about our lives flows from the heart; our thoughts, our speech, and our actions.

So, whether we obey God or not also stems from the condition of our heart.

A hard, angry, or bitter heart is unlikely to conform to God’s will, and more apt to follow our own will. Things such as anger and similar emotions almost always lead to rebellion.

Pride will also cause us to rebel, preferring ourselves over others.

And a higher opinion of view of ourselves will also cause us to put others lower on our list of priorities than we place ourselves.

This is why it is so important that we humble ourselves before God.

Humility will make us more pliable in God’s hands, causing us to conform to what He wants, instead of what we want.

And as we remain humble, the Holy Spirit will begin to transform us, so that our desires heed to God’s will, and we begin to honor His desires instead of our own.

We transition from selfish to selfless.

This is typically a gradual progression that can take years to happen. Realistically, it is a lifelong process that has seasons of growth spurts as we walk through various trials and situations that cause us to put our roots down deeper in Him.

And what is at the root of our obedience? What causes us to begin putting ourselves second, and Him first?

Our love for God.

Our love for Him grows as we mature and purposely make the effort to learn of Him.

And when that love is in full bloom, the only thing that will fill our heart and make it feel complete is more time spent with Him, studying His word, communing with Him, and drawing ever nearer to Him.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-8-25

Psalm 37:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.

Rest and wait; do we see it in this verse?

These two things are probably the two most difficult things for any of us to do.

Once we take the steps to work at trying to achieve them, we will find out that they go hand in hand. If we can rest in the Lord fully, we will more than likely have no problem waiting on Him. The wait will be effortless.

When we rest in the Lord we are basically saying that we trust His timing and His way above ours. This will settle our minds right down.

We can get distracted in this process very easily. One thing that’s very common is that we start looking around and comparing. This may cause us to start fretting and taking things into our own hands.

We must stay focused and not get distracted with what is going on around us.

I’ll be real with you; we are all good at analyzing. Probably our best quality!

We are all good at seeing what others are doing. And if we are not careful, it can make us ugly on the inside with envy and bitterness. And it can lead us into becoming very angry people.

Don’t go there. It does more harm than good.

Wait on God with the right heart. He is faithful to answer our request!

Keep our focus by taking our eyes off everyone/everything else, and look toward the hills.

Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV) 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-7-25

Proverbs 4:23 (LSB) 23 Guard your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life.

As followers of Christ, it is important for us to understand this foundational truth; the condition of our heart drives everything else about our lives.

From it flows our thoughts, our speech, and our actions.

When we begin our walk with God, we may find ourselves frequently disappointing God with the things we say and do.

This is natural because we are a new believer; still immature in our thinking and understanding.

But as we mature (which we should all do), our heart should change. It should begin to reflect the ways and the values of God.

It is because of this that we should go to great lengths to protect our heart. It requires shielding if we wish to keep and protect it from evil.

As we do this, we will find that we begin to obey God more frequently, and we disappoint Him less with the things we do and speak.

And obedience is the primary thing that God asks of us.

Now, this does not mean that our walk with God is based on works. It simply means that we obey because we love Him.

We are not bound to a set of rules and regulations as the Israelites were.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law and allow us to walk forth in the New Covenant, leaving the Old Covenant behind; completed and no longer necessary.

This was accomplished through the grace of God; His favor upon us.

And by His grace we walk in faith, trusting Him for eternal salvation.

So, let us always give preference to Him, putting Him above all else.

And in doing so, allowing the Holy Spirit to mold and shape our heart that we might not get caught up in rote actions, we will develop genuine obedience that stems from the heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-5-25

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) 9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

Let’s remember today that Jesus didn’t come to give us salvation alone, but He rescued us from continuing to fall into sin every day.

We have been made holy by His blood, to live holy. To be His own special people and to shine brightly on this earth that others may see the goodness of God in us and through our actions.

We have been set free from sinful behaviors, and free to do the good things of God.

He has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Living holy is the response of God’s chosen and special people.

Let us evaluate ourselves today. Are there things that we continue to do that are sinful and repetitive?

Of course we are not going to be perfect..

But let us encourage you today that you are not alone, and we all must work at this holy living. Know that we have been given the power to resist temptation and be free.

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

We have been called out of those ways, and into the goodness of God. Let us join together in prayer for each other to address the sin in our lives that continues to pull us backwards.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-4-25

John 8:58 (NKJV) 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

It is well known that when Jesus spoke, the Jewish religious leaders listened, but usually only to try to find fault with what He said.

Many of the things He spoke angered them badly.

They accused Him of blasphemy on more than one occasion.

But this verse caused them to become seething with rage. It angered them to the point that they wanted to kill Him.

John 8:59 (LSB) 59 Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple.

What Jesus said had a dual meaning.

First, He implied that He existed before Abraham. Abraham had a definitive birth date, and a moment in time when he died and ceased to exist in his human body. But Jesus was eternal, with no beginning and no end.

Because the Jewish leaders viewed Jesus only through human eyes and failed to allow God to guide their hearts, they dismissed Him and all that they witnessed, writing Him off as a lunatic and a false prophet.

And their flesh caused them to fail miserably in discerning the spiritual season in which they lived.

Luke 12:56 (NKJV) 56 Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time?

Even as believers, we can often miss what God is showing us, what He wants us to learn, because we look and listen solely by our intellect, and not by the Spirit of God.

Father, may we learn, grow, and mature, that we will lean not on our own understanding, but on the voice and the leading of the Holy Spirit, that we may properly discern the season in which we live, and not miss what you are saying and showing us.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-3-25

Exodus 33:17 (NKJV) 17 So the Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”

Disappointment in the choices we make, or the things others have done to us, can cause us to not like ourselves.

We can be so angry at ourselves that we don’t even like our own name. We deny the connection to try and get rid of this feeling.

The very name that God calls to Himself, we say no, that’s not me.

If God can call us by our name, then we too should be able to accept it as our identity no matter the damage done to it.

One day, as I sat in my car, tears running down my face because I was reminded of some things I had been through, it left me in a state of hating my own name. I didn’t want to associate with that name, so I hid from it within myself.

But God, as loving, kind, and gentle as He is, said to me that day in the car, “I love you and your full name.”

It hit me. I was hiding from it, hoping to find some relief from certain events or moments that took place in past years.

If we can forget our name, then it all goes away, right? Wrong. It’s just hidden.

God knows our name. It will always be our name. We can’t simply forget our own name and make the past go away. It doesn’t work that way.

But we can make things right. We can face what is making us be in such denial.

We can forgive ourself for the choices we made under that name. And we can forgive those who deliberately brought attacks upon us under that name.

But changing our name will never get rid of our past; it will not give us the peace that we so desperately desire.

God knows our name.

Our name is ours for life. Let Him repair the damage as we face it.
