Bible Verse of The Day – 8-15-23

John 8:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

He is the light.

In order to not walk in darkness, we must follow Him.

Following Him means we must know what He says. And in order to know what He says we have to study His word.

We can’t just study a little here and a little there. We can’t just study when we have the time. We have to make the time.

We have to be diligent in our studies, willing to put aside other things that we enjoy doing, and pick up the word of God to study or meditate on it.

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

It’s not going to just happen.

We have to make it happen.

How do we do that? By being in it night and day.

We will only follow Him to the fullest if we know what it is we have to do to follow Him. We must have His word hidden in our heart.

Not only does it keep us accountable for our actions, it also gives us strength to say no to certain things when we need to.

It helps us to stay disciplined and balanced in every area of our lives.

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-23

Genesis 3:15 (NKJV) 15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

As God spoke to the serpent (satan) after he had deceived Eve, He clearly laid out his future and the defeat he would ultimately suffer at the hands of the coming Redeemer (Christ).

The enemy had no idea what God was referring to when He said, “He shall bruise your head”.

What God meant was that the coming Redeemer would deal him a fatal blow, removing the power of death from him by rising from the dead Himself, defeating death with a blow of finality.

Christ would crush his head under His feet with this single, miraculous act.

Death itself would die.

This all happened through a chain of events that is utterly impossible for human minds to completely comprehend.

The precision with which God moved and worked to tie everything together neatly over the centuries is truly mind boggling.

Specific people had to be born and precisely placed in time and in geographical locales.

Events would have to play out that would cause certain shifts in populations.

Stars would have to be put in place to shine and signal the birth of the Redeemer.

And there was so much more that happened that we cannot begin to fathom with our finite minds.

But it happened. And because God was faithful in His promise to redeem humanity, Christ came, lived, died, and rose again.

And it is solely because of this that we are offered redemption and the forgiveness of our sins through the sacrifice that Christ made for you and me.

Let us not forget or make light of the depth of this incredible miracle, and the intricate, powerful way by which God carried it out.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-23 – Standing for Truth

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

Speaking the truth is something that God wants us all to do.

We all know that doing so can sometimes be difficult or bring unwanted consequences.

In our newest video, Standing for Truth, we teach about the importance of speaking for and standing up for the truth, even when it is not popular to do so.

This video is relevant today as we see truth become increasingly unpopular. So, we hope you will take a few minutes to watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Remember, the truth will set us free!

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-12-23

Psalm 37:23 (NKJV) 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

Are we still waiting for the answer as to why our life has turned out the way it has?

Are we questioning why we are still in the same place we’ve been in forever, dealing with the same outcomes?

It is usually because of our own choices and the steps we take without getting and following God’s counsel.

It’s not hard to understand, but it can be hard to accept.

Once we do accept it, we will usually take a deeper look into where we stand and what we can do to bring change, from this point on.

Making the “right” choice, or the choice we think is good for us, may not always be God’s choice for our situation.

When we make a Godly (God-based) choice, we will find ourselves praying, listening and waiting on His answer before we decide what to do. We will find ourselves relying on His direction.

Both can be hard at times; making the right choice from our own understanding or making the Godly choice.

Making the right choice from our intellect takes some discipline. Making the Godly choice may take a substantial amount of discipline, along with a lot of selflessness and patience.

We cannot think of ourselves when making Godly choices. We must leave ourselves and our emotions out of the equation, and think only of what God wants for us and from us.

If we have been making right choices vs Godly choices, we can’t be down on ourselves. We did what we thought was right at the time.

However, if at any time in our walk we discover we’d rather have His choice for us, we can start by simply asking Him to help us from that point forward. And when that time comes, include Him In making our next decisions.

He is faithful to order our steps as we surrender them to Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-11-23

Romans 8:5 (NKJV) 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

This verse is a great reminder for all followers of Christ, to follow the Spirit of God, not our flesh.

Prior to being born again, we walked and lived according to our flesh daily. It was all we knew.

Our spirit had not yet been quickened (made alive in Christ).

But when we became a new creation in Christ, we were told that we are to put away the old and take on the new.

This would be comparable to stripping off old, dirty clothes, replacing them with new clothes that have never been soiled.

The blood of Jesus doesn’t just cover our sins, but washes them away, making us brand new.

In light of this, it is important for us to begin to live as the new creations that God has made us, allowing Him to transform us and begin shaping us into who He wants us to be.

So, throwing off our old nature is imperative.

Ephesians 4:21-24 (NLT) 21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

What’s important for us to remember, though, is that He does not simply toss us out to the wolves, defenseless, expecting us to know how to navigate the world as this tender newborn that we have become.

He gives us His Spirit to lead us, guide us and teach us, helping us navigate the world as a newborn child of God.

After being born again, we must make choices going forward.

With the Holy Spirit leading us, we can do just that, allowing us to learn from Him, growing with each step we take and each new day that we walk through.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-23

Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV) 13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Ignoring, stuffing down or hiding what we have said or done wrong will not help us.

It may take the sting away for a bit as we try to forget it, but peace comes only when we receive God’s mercy by asking for forgiveness.

If we don’t remain an open book with God, and be held accountable to Him, it will be easy for us to overlook the things we should be repenting of and coming clean from.

Whether we think our sin is little or big in God’s eyes, we must repent. Why? Because sin is sin.

We need to keep a remorseful mindset, knowing that God is holy, and that sin will put distance between us and Him if we don’t remove it.

As soon as we know or are convicted, we need to give it up and ask for forgiveness.

Walk away from those things that put distance between us and God.

Remember; covering up our sin will cause us to not prosper. But when we confess, He will show us mercy.

1 Chronicles 29:13 (NKJV)  13 “Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name.

Thank you, God!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-9-23

Luke 14:28 (NKJV) 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it

As the years have gone by, I have begun to realize that God has changed me immensely. And rightfully so. I am no longer my own. I belong to Him.

If we have accepted God’s invitation to put our faith and trust in Christ, we are not our own. We have been bought with a price, and that price was great.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

As a child of God, it is important that we surrender our whole selves to Him.

Jesus emphasized this as He spoke and taught the crowds.

Many came to hear Him speak. It was the “in” thing to do at that time as word of Him spread throughout the regions.

But He warned them that following Him was not an endeavor for the weak or the faint of heart. It would cost them.

Luke 9:23 (NKJV) 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And, if we truly desire to follow Him wholeheartedly, it does cost us.

The cost for each of us will be different. We are all unique.

But it is critical that we understand the truth that there is a cost.

Do we understand this?

Are we willing to bear the cost, even as He bore the pain, humiliation, and shame of the cross for you and me?

Let us be serious in our walk with God. And let us understand the cost of being His disciple.

And let us be ready to lay it all down for Him as He laid it all down for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-23

1 Thessalonians 2:18 (NKJV) 18 Therefore we wanted to come to you—even I, Paul, time and again—but Satan hindered us.

As believers, we’d like to think we are untouchable or exempt when it comes to satan’s attacks on our family, our jobs, our friends, etc.

But even Paul says that satan hindered him from getting to where he needed to go.

The notes in my study Bible tell me that his undefined blocking of Paul caused Paul great emotional turmoil and he ended up having to send Timothy instead.

1 Thessalonians 3:6 (NKJV) 6 But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always have good remembrance of us, greatly desiring to see us, as we also to see you—

Knowing this, we need to be aware that there will be times when we will be fought and hindered from trying to do God’s work.

When this happens, it can be discouraging.

We need to stay focused, through prayer, and sometimes fasting, following the leading of the Holy Spirit.

If we need to make a change in the plan, it’s OK. God will see to it that He gets the results He wants either way.

Stand strong and resist the enemy, and he will flee.

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

God will go ahead of us and work out the details as we stay submitted to Him even through the fiery darts. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-23

Proverbs 1:7 (NKJV) 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Sometimes some of the simplest things can teach us a great deal.

This verse is a good example of this.

Many times, looking deeper into a simple phrase will help us better understand it and gain more knowledge from it.

So, let’s see what we can learn from this verse if we dig a little deeper.

First, let us address the phrase, “the fear of the Lord”.

The fear being referred to is not a condemning kind of fear. This is a reverent and worshipful fear. Think of it as reverential awe.

There is also an element of fear that may cause us to actually be afraid since God is all-powerful (omnipotent). But the bigger emphasis here should be on the reverence aspects of the word.

Now, let’s move on to see what reverent fear is or does in the context of this verse.

It is the beginning of wisdom.

So, having a reverent fear of God is the beginning of being wise. It is the first step in our journey to obtain knowledge and wisdom.

Unbelievers may have some knowledge and understanding, but their knowledge is limited and not rooted in absolute truth until they have a genuine relationship, based on reverential fear, with the one true God.

What does this verse say about those who do not fear the Lord?

They are fools who despise wisdom and instruction.

The word, “fool”, in this verse denotes a person who is morally deficient; one who walks a fine line between doing things that may be legal, but not morally sound.

And in their state of being in moral decline, these kinds of people despise wisdom (intelligence, understanding, insight) and instruction (teaching, training, guidance).

This disdain for instruction is due to their desire to continue to do what they know in their heart (conscience) is wrong. They love their sin more than they love (desire) truth and righteousness.

Let us not be fools, but desire and love wisdom and instruction, walking in reverent fear of our God.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-23 – Gatekeepers

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

We trust that you are growing and maturing in your walk with God as each new day passes.

We have a new video for you today that is extremely important, especially if you have children or grandchildren.

Today’s video is called, “Gatekeepers”, and in this video we teach about the importance of guarding the hearts and minds of our children, acting as gatekeepers to discern and filter what is allowed to come in and affect their minds.

This is a tough topic, but very necessary to teach and discuss, as our children’s minds are constantly attacked by the enemy in so many ways.

We not only hope you will watch it, but that you will also share it with others who have children.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Again, please share this video with others that may benefit from it.

Enjoy your day and be sure to hug your little ones.

We love you all very much.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-5-23

Romans 6:1-2 (NKJV) 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

When a person becomes a believer, a follower of Christ, they are given new life. They are made a new creation in Christ.

In this there is an implication that our old selves will fall away and be gone.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

This loss of our old self can take some time to manifest. But we need to make sure that it does manifest.

It is important that we are not ignorant of this. It is equally important that we do not ignore this.

As God teaches us and brings understanding about how He wants us to live, it is important that we heed what He shows us and follow through to do our part.

We will only grow as much as we allow ourselves to. And that growth will be in accordance with the amount of effort we make.

This is something that we all need to pay attention to. None of us is exempt.

Why do we share this? Why did Paul write so extensively about this?

Is it to single someone out and scold them? Is it to bring you shame?

Absolutely not.

Paul wrote these things, and we share them, simply because you are loved, and we want God’s absolute best for your lives.

Our desire is for every person reading this to flourish in their walk with God.

And sometimes that requires things to be spoken that may not be easy to hear. But it is those things that are difficult to say and to hear that bring the most growth. And that growth, in turn, brings forth the greatest fruit.

So, we urge you in love to seek God wholeheartedly in every aspect of your lives.

Let Him have preeminence in everything you do, every decision, and every choice you make, so that He might rule your heart and mind and bring you to the place where He wants you to be.

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
