Bible Verse of The Day – 1-25-25

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

God will show us the path of life.

How? By His spirit.

He will lead us, help us, carry us, give us strength, wisdom, and understanding as we follow Him.

Ezekiel 36:27 (NKJV) 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

He will give us a new heart. It will be pliable and teachable! We will have a new will and attitude toward life.

By walking in His statutes, we will remain in His presence and walk the path He has for us.

In His presence there is fullness of joy!

Joy is not just being happy. It is being strong when facing difficult situations; being able to push through the hardships of life and not be moved from our foundation, which is in Him!

Joy that is rooted in Him is more than we can ever know. It lies deep within us and rises when needed most.

Nehemiah says it best; His joy is our strength.

We will find such joy in His presence as we follow His statutes, and He shows us the path of life!

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

We need such strength to walk this path of life!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-24-25

Luke 23:34 (NKJV) 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.

There are many profound moments in the word of God. It is full of them. It is, after all, the word of God!

But the verse above is one that we must grasp, as Jesus spoke the words, Father Forgive Them.

His ability to speak these words about the ones who brutally beat Him and hung Him on a cross to die before the public eye proves beyond the shadow of a doubt that He was, in fact, the Son of God; Immanuel, God in the flesh.

The fact that He could speak these words was not just noteworthy to those who witnessed His death. It was life changing.

Even now, many centuries later, the effects of those words reverberate into eternity, as men and women who learn of Christ read them and hear them, and their hearts are forever changed by them.

As humans, it is common for the effects of words like these to wear off, to grow dull in our hearts as time passes. So, it does us good to be reminded from time to time.

And as Jesus walked among us for His short 33 years, He taught us that as He walked, so must we walk.

May we learn, grow, and mature to the point where we also may be able to speak similar words as we face trials and persecution for our faith, just as Stephen, following in the footsteps of Jesus as he was stoned to death.

Acts 7:59-60 (NKJV) 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-23-25

Galatians 6:1 (NKJV) 1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.

Restore in a spirit of gentleness.

I have never been one to beat up on someone if they have fallen. I won’t do it.

The old saying, “don’t kick them when they are down“ was something I grew up with as a child.

However, I know many people kick and kick hard when someone has messed up.

It’s a good thing God doesn’t kick us when we have fallen or messed up. It’s a good thing He shows us mercy and compassion.

It’s not something we can think about whether we should do this or not. It is what God tells us to do. It is how we are supposed to react, as His child, toward one that has sinned.

So many think they can get angry and fly off the handle. But where will that get us?

Do we think we will never be tempted at times and fall into sin?

We will. And if so, we want to make sure that we have someone there to restore us with a spirit of gentleness.

We must remind ourselves the next time someone we know messes up, that gentleness will help restore them. Not being mean, or angry at them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-22-25

Proverbs 2:10-11 (NKJV) 10 When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, 11 Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you…

If we were to read the entirety of the book of Proverbs, we would clearly see that wisdom is viewed as being critical in our lives.

We often make the mistake of thinking or believing that wisdom is only a matter of intellect.

But it goes far beyond that.

Wisdom partners with many other pleasing attributes, such as knowledge, discretion, and understanding.

Together, these characteristics help us make sound choices, both in the natural world and in our walk with God.

Earthly wisdom is a byproduct of the effort made to learn from others about life choices.

We learn to handle our finances, our relationships, and many other things that pertain to everyday life.

If we were to look at the verses following the ones above, we would see that discretion and understanding will deliver us from the way of evil, from those who speak perverse things, from those who leave the path of uprightness, from those who rejoice in doing evil and who delight in the perversity of the wicked, and much more.

Suffice it to say, wisdom, knowledge, discretion, and understanding are more important than most of us realize!

And the Bible also speaks directly about the simple and the ignorant (unlearned).

This is not done to belittle those who are simple or ignorant, but to encourage them to get the wisdom and understand that are needed to become wise and discerning, leaving their ignorance behind.

If we are lacking understanding, let us not make the mistake of staying that way!

God gives us everything we need to learn, grow, and excel in wisdom.

All that is required on our part is to put forth the effort! If we are willing to do that, He will give the increase.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-21-25

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 pray without ceasing…

Why? Because prayer is so very powerful.

One of the things I want to focus on in my walk with God is to increase my awareness of the situations and people that need prayer.

No matter what we are doing, we can always push ourselves to go even further, and to go deeper.

If we are being told in God’s word to pray without ceasing, I’m there!

I want to know what concerns Him. I want see what He sees and agree with Him for complete victory!

We can get so caught up in routines and lifestyles that we totally miss important prayer time. Prayer that would make a difference. Prayer that would save lives. Prayer that will bring healing. Prayer that would put food on someone’s table, or finances to pay for their bills. Prayer that would save a marriage.

Praying for others is so important. But, knowing who to pray for can be hard at times. If we take a few minutes and simply ask God who needs prayer today, within a short time He may lay someone or some situation on our heart.

We must train ourselves to always be ready to lift someone up in prayer. And if we can’t pray right at that very moment, for whatever reason, we need to write down the name or situation that comes to us and then make sure to pray when we can.

This is a good way to remember, because sometimes, with the busyness of life, we will forget.

We all need prayer.

Sometimes we are so exhausted from whatever battle we are facing, having someone join in and pick up where we might have left off makes a difference in the outcome!

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Be that person. Be ready and alert. God is faithful to lead us in praying for people and situations around us that need help.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-20-25

Proverbs 21:3 (LSB) 3 To do righteousness and justice Is chosen by Yahweh over sacrifice.

Much of the word of God is aimed toward teaching us how to walk before God; what pleases Him in our lives.

This is about much more than being a good person. It is about obeying Him, that our lives might bring glory and honor to His name.

We often get this principle confused with making sacrifices.

We believe that if we sacrifice our time, our finances, or some other things it will please God even though we fail to obey something He has instructed us to do. But this is a terrible mistake on our part.

The Bible is plain about this, as it is also stated again in 1 Samuel.

1 Samuel 15:22 (NKJV) 22 So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

Our time and effort are better spent doing as God has instructed us to do rather than what we think we should do.

Our obedience pleases God more than anything else.

Let this serve to remind us of this important truth, that we do not get caught off guard and spend our days making sacrifices while failing to obey Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-18-25

Psalm 127:3 (NKJV) 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Children are our heritage from the Lord.

They are so important to God. He says, let them come to Me!

Luke 18:16 (NKJV) 16 But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Children need Him! But they will only learn about Him if we know Him and share Him with them. They need to see God alive in us!

What are we showing them today? What do they hear coming from our mouths? What are our actions teaching them to do? What entertainment are we allowing them to partake of?

Are we teaching them to pray? To give thanks? To walk by faith?

We need to nurture and guide them in the word of the Lord by being an example of what we have learned. And let them walk through it with us.

Are we ready to give our children the best guidance of all by allowing them to study His word with us, pray with us, and showing them how to put God first in all they do?

They are the next generation. They need all the wisdom of God they can get. Let them come to Him by us training them.

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) 6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-17-25

Galatians 6:8 (NKJV) 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

God’s word is extremely clear when it comes to the principles of sowing and reaping.

Most times, we think of finances when sowing and reaping are mentioned; if we give much, we will reap much.

And while there is a specific element of truth to that (which we will save as a discussion for another day), sowing and reaping also applies to other scenarios.

We can expect to reap what we sow in many other ways; joy, kindness, spoken words, and much more. We reap from all those things. What we sow, we get back in return, whether good or bad.

In the verse above, we are told very plainly that if we sow to the flesh, we will reap from the flesh.

What does that mean?

The flesh represents everything that is contrary to God; selfishness, lust, jealousy, envy, rage, temper tantrums, willful rebellion, and a list of many other behaviors.

Every one of them drives a wedge between us and God. Yes, we have an Intercessor mediating on our behalf; Jesus Christ Himself.

But having this Mediator does not give us an excuse or the right to willfully walk in the ways of the flesh. We are told very plainly that doing so leads to corruption and death.

Romans 8:13 (NKJV) 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

We beseech everyone today to walk in and by the Spirit. Sow deeds that reap life. Flee from the things that reap death.

And as we do this, not only will we be walking in a way that honors God, but we will also be walking out the things that bring God’s blessings into our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-16-25

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

You mean everything to God.

You are probably thinking, “you don’t know what I have done. I have done some really bad things in my life. I have done things that I am very ashamed of.”

“I am not worthy to call on His name. My life has been one mess after the other. And I still can’t get it right.”

“I have committed much sin in my life how could I ever ask God to save me?”

To this, we would say, God knew what we would do before we even did it, and He still sent His only begotten Son to save the world.

Don’t let what you DID affect what you so desperately need to do today.

Confess your sins and give your heart and soul to Him.

We have all made terrible mistakes, and some have been deliberate. Not one of us is perfect and we never will be.

If you truly want salvation, call out to Him right where you are.

Dear God in Heaven,

I believe You have sent Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to save me from my sins. I ask for Your forgiveness for the things I have done in my past, and I need your Salvation in my life today. I ask in the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, you are now His child. Your sins have been washed away. You are a new creation in Christ!

You have been given eternal life.

Draw close to Him, through prayer and reading His word daily.

We always recommend you start by reading the book of John, and then continue through the New Testament from there.

We are here if you need anything at all. Feel free to call or write us anytime of the day or night. You can reach us easily by simply replying to any of our daily emails.

Welcome to the family of God. We are rejoicing with you and the Angels in Heaven!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-15-25

Genesis 2:7 (NKJV) 7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Sometimes the depth of a specific scripture will hit us like it never has before despite having read it many times.

As I saw this verse today, it impacted me. The reality of it and what it entails was driven home by the Holy Spirit. And it caught my attention in a way it never has before.

Adam was formed from dirt. Dirt!

Dirt, dust, and grit. From this came the first human, formed by the hands of God.

Adam literally means, earth, or soil.

But God did not stop there.

After forming Adam, He then breathed life into the nostrils of this dirt body, giving him life, making him a live human being.

His heart began to beat. His lungs began to breathe in air and breathe out carbon dioxide.

His veins and arteries filled with blood that was being circulated by his beating heart.

His eyes began to see. And his mind began to think thoughts.

Ponder that for a moment or two.

The idea that God could breathe life into a body formed from dirt is far beyond what the human mind can begin to comprehend.

But it is truth. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, we embrace that truth. We learn of God’s miraculous and wonderous power. And we begin to understand who God is.

Every day that we live and breathe, let us continue to discover and embrace who God is. Let us learn to draw closer to Him each day.

And let us put Him first, above all else that vies for our time and attention.

And in doing so, we will see Him for who He is, learning to love Him more with each passing day, and trusting Him in ways that are bigger than we could ever imagine.
