Bible Verse of The Day – 10-2-20

Psalm 14:2 (NKJV) 2 The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

We hope that God is speaking to you through this mini-series on marriage and family!

Let’s move ahead and wrap this up, as we conclude with discussing the duties and obligations of husbands and fathers to God and to their family.

I need to be honest and forthright as we get ready to wrap this up. This is a very serious topic in a very serious season. So, I will speak plainly and sincerely, out of love for you and your family.

Our family needs us to be the man; the head of the home.

This means being the leader and protector in everything, both spiritual and natural. We protect them from physical harm, as well as from emotional and spiritual harm.

We love them, teach them, correct where needed, and reinforce everything with God’s love and nurturing.

It means loving them in the way that God has called us to do, even if we may not always know quite how to do that. God’s word is our treasure chest of counsel and advice. So, we need to make sure we are digging into it daily, gleaning His wisdom for our daily duties as husband and father.

It’s easier to brush off than to actually do it, putting it off until later.

But later rolls around much sooner than we might think. And then we look back and admonish ourselves for not doing what we knew we should have done.

There’s no denying that it’s a very hard task in the times that we live in. So it’s critical that we (as men, husbands and fathers) make sure that our walk with God is not faltering or failing.

God gives us what we need to accomplish the things He has set before us. This doesn’t mean, though, that it will always be easy.

We need to set our face like a flint and stand, even when standing in the face of difficult situations isn’t easy to do.

Sometimes we will take hits from the very ones that we are standing up for. But we must still choose to stand if we want to be who God made us to be.

We need to stay focused and keep our eyes fixed on Him, not on all of the chaos and confusion around us. He will be faithful to guide our steps, one at a time.

We just need to remain steadfast in everything, putting Him first and doing our very best, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, to be the husband and father that He has created us to be.

So, as we wrap this up, to you I say this:

Build your house upon the rock. Do this and though you may occasionally falter, you will never fail.

Matthew 7:24-25 (NKJV) 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

We love you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-1-20

Mark 10:7-8 (NKJV) 7 ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.

I want to make sure that everyone reading this knows that these words are being written in love and with genuine concern for the wellbeing of men, women and children. This is not being written in anger toward anyone.

Yes, there is a certain level of frustration on my end due to the constant onslaught of lies being propagated by the enemy that I see day after day. But I know that this is a spiritual battle, not a battle against people.

As we pick up where we left off yesterday, let me state very emphatically that there is no “alternative version” of marriage. There is no other scriptural definition for marriage.

A man shall marry a woman. And the two shall become one flesh. We see this definition repeated several times throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament.

It is not an old-fashioned concept that went out of style because God changed His mind or changed His way of thinking, or simply because Jesus arrived on the scene and told us to be kind to one another.

Jesus Himself spoke these very words, reinforcing the definition of marriage, thus also confirming the definition of sexual relations as designed and intended by God. One man, one woman, committed to one another in marriage.

Now, let me speak directly to the men who are reading this.

As men, we have a responsibility as the heads of the family. God has placed a mantle upon us; a directive to lead, guide, nurture and protect

Part of protecting, leading and guiding involves making sure that truth takes precedence over falsehoods. We need to play an active role in making sure that our children know and understand truth.

The fact of the matter is that if we don’t do this, someone else will give them their version of truth.

So, we need to protect their minds as well as their physical beings. For the mind is the battleground upon which the enemy will prey when our children are in their formative years. And the damage that can be wrought, if left unchecked, is unfathomable.

I hope you are starting to see where this is leading, and that we are letting it penetrate our hearts.

This is critical, and it needs to be heard and digested with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

We will conclude tomorrow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-30-20

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

I’m writing this message with an urgency, for all believers who read this, to hear it and take it to heart.

I am a husband, father and grandfather. I am a man of God who has been married for almost 38 years, which I believe qualifies me to speak on this topic from a Biblical point of view with at least some semblance of knowledge and authority on it.

My beautiful bride and I write almost daily on varying topics of importance to the body of Christ.

As we have written recently, the traditional (Biblical) definition of a family is (and has been for some time now) under a brutal attack by very dark, very evil forces.

Men, women and children have been having unholy (unscriptural) definitions and concepts of family, marriage and sexual relations pushed on us from just about every angle for a few decades now, with ever-increasing frequency and intensity during the last 15 years.

While some have stood adamantly and very vocally against this, others have been more timid and shy when it comes to speaking out and resisting what our children are being taught in most public schools and by society as a whole.

Some of this timidity has been due to not wanting to cause waves or stir up dissension. Others have held back because they weren’t sure how Christ-like it might be to speak out. Political correctness, which has also been forced on us, has caused people to become afraid to take a stand.

Still others have held back because they don’t like conflict.

I am here today, in this moment, to boldly proclaim that there is little time left for indecision. The time to stand up and speak out is now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today. Right now.

It’s time for believers to stand for what God says is right, holy and pure.

As a man, I am urging other men of faith to stand up and be the head of the household that God has placed you over.

We have an obligation, a duty that has been assigned by God Himself.

I will continue this message tomorrow, so please be sure to read it.

In the meantime, I urge you to seek God and press in to Him. Ask Him to prepare your heart for what He is asking you to undertake.

More on this tomorrow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-6-16

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

We all need to be comforted at times, but today we are going to emphasize on men.

They need encouragement! They need gratitude. They need to hear “thank you” once in awhile. Their role as leader, head of the home, bringing in the income and taking care of the family is not an easy one and at times can be stressful, heavy and overbearing.

We may wonder at times why they are not fulfilling their duty as a man. It’s not always because they are neglecting it on purpose, or because they’d rather play or do something else. Sometimes they are just too tired, overwhelmed, overworked, scared and want to run.

Just because they are men it does not mean they don’t have feelings, emotions, and fears. They are human and they need help at times, just like anyone else.

They need our prayers. They need us to check up on them. They need to be asked at times if they’re OK or if they need some help.

Don’t take him for granted. Love, respect and pray for him.

May God guide us women in knowing how to help at times; To know when he is down in the dumps and clamming up, not saying a word because he feels that his role is to be strong all the time.

Men need to know it’s OK to let go and let God lead those around them to bring comfort and edification in times of need.

A prayer for men:

Dear God,

I feel tired today. My heart is weary, my strength is weak and I need you to bring me some comfort and edification. Forgive me for holding out and trying to do it all. I need you. And whatever you have to help me this day, I receive it and thank you for it.

In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
