Bible Verse of The Day – 1-17-26

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

What or who comes first in our day?

This is something we must keep in check every day. What will we put first?

Our schedule, or our God?

Will we let the demands of our day take over?

As soon as our feet hit the floor, are we running?

Are we totally thinking of all the things we need to get done, meetings, deadlines, meal planning, cleaning, dropping kids off, etc.?

What is it that puts us in a whirlwind first thing when we open our eyes?

It’s our own mind.

Even if we have a full plate, we don’t have to let these appointments, deadlines, demands, and everyday routines take us there first thing.

We must make a conscious effort to start our day off on the right foot.

Pray, read, and have a time of quietness with our Heavenly Father, the One who knows us and loves us more than we can ever understand. The One who cares about us, and wants the very best for us today and every day we are alive!

Spend a few moments with Him before we start our day, and we will see a difference in our attitude, our outlook, and how we carry ourselves throughout the day.

He is faithful to be there for us; we just have to show up and let Him set us straight before we begin the day.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-25

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Because we live in the world, it will take up much of our time if we don’t set the boundaries. Without those boundaries, the time we spend “trying to seek God” or being with Him will be next to nothing.

Seeking God and His righteousness first will bring a sense of stability and peace. Why? Because as we obey God with this verse, He promises us that all these things shall be added to us.

How do we seek Him? Through prayer, reading His word, and praise and worship.

Let’s talk about what happens when we spend time with God in prayer, in His word, and when we praise and worship Him.

It’s through prayer we can approach Him; He will give us guidance and provision as we cry out to Him.

Praying causes our faith to become stronger. It helps us to do things we never thought we could do as we learn through answered prayers how to trust Him more.

Praying will help us if we have anxiety. It actually causes worrying to subside because our faith grows as we spend time with Him.

Most importantly, prayer helps us build and strengthen our relationship with God.

Reading God’s word is just as crucial.

It will help us to grow spiritually, gain wisdom, and it provides us with comfort. These things strengthen us.

His word guides us in our daily lives, helping us to make right choices.

Reading God’s word also helps sharpen our discernment.

It brings peace and gives us much hope.

Praising and worshiping Him will draw us into His presence. And we will feel our burdens lifted as we surrender and we melt into His arms.

God is faithful to show up. And oh, what a difference it will make in our daily activities.

Call time out today. Seek after Him, and watch how things will change!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-12-18

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Having a drive for something is OK, as long as it is what God wants for us. If it’s not what God wants for us it can be very dangerous. It can make a mess of things quickly and we will lose our peace.

For example, maybe we want a specific position, or maybe a material item.

Watch out for the phrase, “oh, wouldn’t that be nice”. That can be the beginning of an unnecessary drive, a waste of valuable time, for something that’s not meant for us.

We may catch ourselves starting to go down that road and digging deeper, trying to find out more about it. The next thing we know we are spending all our time and effort trying to make it happen, trying to possess it and make it ours.

Whenever we want or think we need something so badly, it will begin to drive us. It’s crucial that our drive be aimed toward the things that God wants for us. Nothing else.

One way to check ourselves at any point in time is to pull back and say, “hold on, wait a minute, I need to make sure this is right for me”.

If we can’t do that, and we just keep plowing our way through, trying everything we can to make it happen, then we are most likely being driven by our motives, our wants and our desires. God is not a part of it. It’s all us.

To keep this from happening, we have to keep an eye on our hearts during the process. How? By keeping ourselves accountable.

Make sure we are taking time with God, and we don’t just push Him off and ignore His promptings, His warnings, and His red flags. Be aware and alert throughout the whole process, making sure His peace is present and prevalent.

He has no problem helping us to know if we are getting ready to make a BIG mistake. We just have to pay attention to the signs, use wisdom and take action to stay on the right track.

If we are being driven today by something that is not going to be right for us, we need to stop, no matter how far in we are. Then we need to pull back and take some time to get God’s direction. He is faithful to help us see clearly and bring understanding, as long as we’re willing to listen.
