Bible Verse of The Day – 10-28-19

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So much of what we see, hear and read today is contrary to the word of God.

TV, movies, radio, websites, social media and so many other outlets are straying further and further from the truth of God’s word and accepting just about anything that anyone suggests, as long as it feels good or makes others feel accepted.

No matter what it is, no matter how ridiculous it might seem, we are told that it’s OK.

The vast majority of these things are blatantly in contrast to God’s word. Yet, even many people who profess to be followers of Christ are embracing them, accepting them, and even promoting them as truth.

We are no longer adhering to sound doctrine.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NKJV) 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

People of God, we cannot continue to take this path! There needs to come an awakening and a change of direction!

It’s time to recognize right and wrong again, as God’s word has taught us.  And it’s time to stand for truth and righteousness again, even when it’s not popular.

It’s critical that we speak truth, in love, to bring light and accountability to this lost and dying world, to those who have lost their way and are wandering in darkness.

Romans 1:16-17 (NKJV) 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

You see, the enemy has chipped away at Biblical morals and the wisdom of God, causing even people who were once believers in sound doctrine to question the very foundation that their lives were built upon.

But God’s word says that we are without excuse. We cannot justify this by any means whatsoever; not political, not social, not anything.

God is God, and His word stands. It is truth that doesn’t change from one generation to the next. It does not bend to suit our desires or our changing ideologies. God’s truth is truth, no matter how many ways some might try to make it seem otherwise.

Malachi 3:6 (NKJV) 6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change…

Truth needs to prevail. But it can’t prevail if it isn’t made known. So, it’s up to us to make it known.

Why? Because the truth, when it’s accepted and embraced, sets people free.

John 8:32 (NKJV) 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

This is not a political message. It is not a message of condemnation. It is a message of light, love and hope, that we will return to where God wants us to be.

We need to stay at our post, standing guard over the truth, and not backing down when the onslaught of the enemy comes in like a flood.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-26-19

2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.

As believers, most of us have heard this verse at least once. And if we’ve been a believer for a long time, it’s safe to assume that we have probably heard it many times.

The question is this; have we followed what it tells us to do?

Have we “come out from among them” and separated ourselves from the world in a significant way?

There are many ways we can do this, without actually moving out into the forest somewhere and living in isolation. In fact, isolating ourselves isn’t what this scripture is really referring to anyway.

But have we separated ourselves in our actions, our behavior, in ways that differentiate us from the rest of the people around us? Or do we just blend in and act like whoever we happen to be around at any given moment?

In the verses leading up to this one, Paul is speaking to the Corinthian Christians and encouraging them to come away from the worldly behaviors such as lawlessness and idol worship.

That’s a good place for us to start looking at our own lives. How similar are we to the world in the things we do and the things we involve ourselves in?

It’s pretty safe to assume that we don’t literally bow down to physical idols. But are our hearts attached to or involved with “things” that we esteem more highly than we should?

Things like movies, celebrities, hobbies, etc. can all become our idols.

Our behavior can also be something to consider. The way we act, the things we say, the words we use are all ways that we can attach ourselves to or separate ourselves from the world.

No matter who we are, we can all use a little “checkup” once in a while. It’s good for us to look at what we do and let God show us where we might need to make adjustments, whether big or small.

So, don’t worry about packing up your things and moving out into the woods somewhere. But let’s ask God how to separate ourselves in ways that are pleasing to Him 🙂

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-17-16

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Transform – to change (something) completely, usually in a good way.

Transforming and renewing our minds from the way we used to think and do things, to a new way of thinking and doing things, can take time. Sometimes we will do well and other times we may feel like we didn’t do as well as we could have or should have.

Be patient and don’t get discouraged. One step at a time, God will help each one of us. Remember, no one is perfect but Jesus Christ Himself.

Keep trying and know that it’s not going to be done on our own, but with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Mark 10:27 (NKJV) 27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

We need God! He has sent us a Helper and that Helper is the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to prompt us and guide us. Be open to Him and listen to Him.

The one thing we need to remember is that the Holy Spirit will never ask us to do something contrary to the word of God. The Holy Spirit and the word of God are One.

Let Him transform and change us, from the inside out.

You are doing a good job. Stay with it and keep trying, no matter how you feel at times. Amen.
