Bible Verse of The Day – 6-16-23

Nehemiah 4:14 (NLT) 14 Then as I looked over the situation, I called together the nobles and the rest of the people and said to them, “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great and glorious, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes!”

As I have studied more in depth over the last couple of years, Nehemiah has become someone that I have a lot of respect for.

Why?

Because he was a truth warrior.

He knew how to discern, and he knew how to stand and speak for truth and righteousness.

As a cupbearer to King Artaxerxes, Nehemiah had gained the king’s respect for his dedication and faithfulness.

When Nehemiah became aware of a dire situation regarding many of his fellow Jews, he knew he had to act and help them.

He approached the king and obtained permission to take leave from his duties as the king’s cupbearer so he could go and help the Jews who were returning to Judah from exile to rebuild their homeland.

Many of the people in the land opposed them. But Nehemiah was not to be deterred. He stood strongly and boldly, continuing to work feverishly and diligently to rebuild the walls around Jerusalem.

And in the verse above, he encouraged his fellow Jews to do the same.

Do not be afraid of the enemy!

And we speak these same words to you today.

Do not be afraid of the enemy! Remember Who it is that fights for us!

Stand and fight for your wives and husbands, your brothers and sisters, your sons & daughters, and your homes!

Remember the Lord, who is glorious. Take heart in His faithfulness. Draw your strength and courage from Him!

As David said to the Philistines before he slayed the giant, so we also speak to our enemy;

1 Samuel 17:47 (NKJV) 47 Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

So, when the enemy taunts you, telling you that you will lose, stand firm and know that the battle is not ours, but belongs to God our redeemer!

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-22

Acts 4:3 (NKJV) 3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in custody until the next day, for it was already evening.

Peter and John were arrested and tossed into prison.

Paul was arrested numerous times and thrown into prison.

Silas was arrested with Paul and placed in the innermost parts of the prison to prevent them from escaping.

And this is just a small sampling of people of faith who were recorded in the Bible as being persecuted for their faith.

Ultimately, not only were the various apostles of Christ arrested and jailed, but that same faith cost them their lives, literally.

Why?

Because they spoke out boldly, causing people, many of whom were powerful and very influential, to become angry with the words they spoke.

You see, they spoke the truth. And they spoke it boldly.

Sometimes it was the truth of the gospel of Christ that angered people. Other times it was truth that was spoken regarding the actions and behaviors of people that caused people to hate them and want them arrested or dead.

They were not silent. They were not fearful of man or the consequences of their words of truth.

They were seen as a threat to the lifestyles of those people whom they offended with their words.

How about us?

Are we a threat to anyone’s lifestyle? Do we speak truth that may occasionally offend people?

Or are we hesitant to rock the boat, afraid of what people might think of us, or afraid of what it might cost us to stand for what we believe?

Our redemption came at a great price. It wasn’t free. Jesus paid for it, for every last one of us, with His life.

Let us each allow the Holy Spirit to embolden us, to speak truth (with love) as He leads us to do so, without fear of what it might cost us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-1-21

Nehemiah 6:1-4 (NKJV) 6 Now it happened when Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it (though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates), 2 that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, “Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono.” But they thought to do me harm. 3 So I sent messengers to them, saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?” 4 But they sent me this message four times, and I answered them in the same manner.

Nehemiah was a warrior. He loved God and stood firm to serve Him, even in the face of extreme adversity.

As Nehemiah worked feverishly with others to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem, he was threatened numerous times by people who hated him and those who worked with him because of what they were doing. They wanted badly to see them fail and would go to great lengths to try to make that happen.

They tried everything they could think of to get them to stop; threats, physical attacks on them, and even so-called “diplomatic” meetings.

But take note of what Nehemiah did; he blew them off, knowing in his heart that they intended to harm him.

There are important lessons for us to learn in this.

The enemy will continually attack us, try to scare us, threaten us and taunt us in an effort to get us to cave in and back down from standing for God’s truth.

As Nehemiah did, we need to be sure to stand firm, even when it means taking hits and feeling extreme pressure.

It may not be comfortable or easy. But remember what Jesus did for us.

Ease and comfort were never promised for us when we chose to become a child of God.

Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-21-21

Daniel 1:8 (NKJV) 8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Daniel did not want to eat the delicacies, or drink the wine he had been supplied with, knowing that it was forbidden for the Jews to do so.

He knew it would defile him.

In light of this, he took a stand and asked his boss if he could prove that his diet was better.

He requested that he and his colleagues be allowed to eat their own food for 10 days. After the 10 days, let him judge their appearance and their health and make a final decision.

Sometimes we have to take a stand, like Daniel did, if something we are being told to do goes against what we believe to be good for us and our relationship with God.

God gave Daniel favor and goodwill with the chief of the eunuchs. And Daniel was able to prove his case.

Daniel 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.

What is it today that we are needing to stand up and say no to?

Are we on a job that is pushing us to do things against what we know is the right thing to do?

Are our kids in a place where we need to stand up and voice our opinion on a certain subject?

Do we need to take a stance and say no to things in our relationship that we know we should not be doing or going along with?

What is it today that God is saying, “stand up, be firm, don’t back down. I will give you favor and wisdom to know what to say and when to say it.”?

We have to purpose within our heart, like Daniel, to do the right thing and then stand.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-8-21

Genesis 3:5 (NKJV) 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When Eve ate the forbidden fruit, that’s when sin took hold and death set in. Wow, just by one person.

It’s like Eve needed someone to say, “NOOOOOO”!

She needed someone to be strong and get in her face and say, “stop, don’t do it”. Someone to say, “it’s not worth it”.

She needed a good friend. A friend that wouldn’t care if she got mad or offended, who would just tell her the truth about what she was about to do.

Spiritual death is terrible. It is a loss, no matter how we look at it. And we should take a good look at it.

As God’s children, we have a choice. And that choice we make is so important.

Spiritual death comes from one word; disobedience.

We can get involved with the wrong things and bring spiritual death to our walk with God.

What are we, the church, doing today that may be causing spiritual death?

Are we disobedient? Is our disobedience leading to sin?

Are we just going with the flow and not speaking up when we know we should?

If that’s the case, then we are just as much at fault for going along with it.

Don’t get us wrong. There are some great things that are going on today in churches.

But if we want to go further, we must stop and get a handle on some things.

Don’t be adding to or taking away from God’s word. That is just like Eve taking a bite of the forbidden fruit, once it’s bitten into, death and destruction follow.

Deuteronomy 12:32 (NKJV) 32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

Don’t let pretty words and fancy entertainment pull us away from the truth. The enemy is deceitful and cunning.

We need to surround ourselves with people who will not lie to us, but speak truth when we need to hear it. They need to be willing to speak truth to us even if we might get mad or get our feelings hurt.

We need those people that are grounded in God’s word to say, “NO! It’s not worth it. No, you are about to make a bad move. No, it might look good, but deep down it’s not and if you mess with it, it will be sure to bring spiritual death to you”.

The enemy is subtle and sly, and will deceive us with words  and actions that will get to us.

Genesis 3:1 (NKJV) 1 Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

Right here is where she needed someone to step in and tell her, “he’s a liar!”.

It was obvious that he had her. She was drawn in by his cunning ways.

Where are those who will take a stand and not back down, no matter how hard it will get, no matter the persecution that may come for standing up? Where are those who will say, “no, don’t bite it!”?

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-23-21

Luke 4:33-35 (NKJV) 33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!” 35 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.

A couple weeks ago I was reading these verses and something leapt out at me. It was this; Jesus gave this demon no voice. He silenced it immediately and then cast it out of the man it was inhabiting.

There is a lot for us to learn from this encounter that Jesus had with this demon.

Jesus gave this demon no voice. He shut it down immediately and forcibly removed it, sending it on its way.

This got me to thinking about our own lives. Do we give evil a voice in our lives? Do we let evil speak freely and fail to rebuke it? Do we let it speak and then just simply move on, not silencing it or shutting it down?

As I have observed the happenings in the church, and in the world, it would appear that we have given evil a voice. We have let it speak. And we have let it have its way, unhindered and unexposed.

It is this that has caused us to be where we are today, battling evil on so many fronts where it doesn’t belong.

It’s time for us to use our voices and speak back to this evil; push it back. We need to address demonic forces and rebuke them, face to face.

Our silence is speaking much more loudly than our words, allowing evil to thrive unchecked.

It’s time to shut it down and speak truth, sending the demons running.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-21

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ!

A couple of weeks ago I read a group of scriptures that really caught my attention.

In these verses, Jesus openly rebuked a demon and cast him out of a man.

Casting it out wasn’t what caught my attention. How He shut the demon down was.

He gave the demon no room to speak; no voice.

No Voice is the title of our newest video, where we teach on this particular pair of verses.

It’s a short video and very to the point, so we hope you will watch it.

Enjoy your day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-11-17

Psalm 97:10 (NKJV) 10 You who love the Lord, hate evil! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

If there is one thing that we as God’s children are allowed to hate, it is EVIL!

It’s OK to hate the things that are not good. Stay clear of them. We can hate lying, stealing, perversion and greed. We can hate divorce, misconduct, mistreatment, and abuse, etc. We can hate anything that goes against God and His word. He is alright with it!

Don’t let the world try to put a name on us because we are doing what the Word of God says to do, or because we stand against that which is evil.

Don’t let it bring confusion or make us feel like we are doing something wrong because we hate evil practices.

We will never bow to evil actions.

Take a stand today and hate that which is evil. Pray for those who are practicing in it. But don’t fall prey to it.

Amen.

Matthew 12:35 (NKJV) 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

God will deliver us as we stand strong and do what is good.
