Bible Verse of The Day – 5-16-12

(Eph 5:2 NKJV)  And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Love is the ultimate gift that we’re given and that we can also give.

Love conquers all. Period.

Sometimes this is very hard for us to comprehend. We like to handle things our own way and make sure people know how we feel and what we think. But God wants us to love. He wants us to show people who He is by the way we love.

Love truly overcomes all evil. Think about this; if we speak to someone with an angry tone, how often does that person return our words with kindness? Not often, right?

But, what about if we speak to someone with kindness and sincerity? More often than not, we will get a softer response than if we spoke to someone harshly.

When I was in Bible College, one of the instructors made a statement that has stuck with me ever since. He said “Nobody really cares how much we know until they know how much we care”.

We need to make sure we’re loving people, not just showing them how much we know or how spiritual we are.

Make it a point to treat people with love and then take notice of how they react to you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-4-12

(James 4:14 NKJV) whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

I don’t want to scare anyone but I do want to address the fact that Life is precious. Jesus Christ has made a way for us to live happy, good and FREE… let us not take it for granted, not for one second. No matter what we have or don’t have material wise, He has given us something GREATER than any of that.

I remember as a child, one Christmas time things weren’t going so good for my parents and, as children, we knew when Christmas morning came there wouldn’t be much for gifts. But I remember getting up that morning and there were just a few little wrapped items under the tree and my brothers and sisters and I ran and opened them up.

We were so happy. Not because of the presents… there were few, but there was something special about being together as a family. It was more than any present bought from a store could ever bring; there was love in our home.

Let us not take today for granted. Share the love of Christ throughout your day today.

We have good working arms; give someone a hug like we mean it. We have a smile; share it with someone. Encourage someone with kind words. Be patient and listen when someone is talking and let God’s love shine through you.

This is powerful!

Your Daily Bible Verse – 2-4-12

(2 John 1:6 NKJV) This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
God’s love is in us as we receive Him into our lives. It’s up to us to let Him change us inside so that we can let it out to show those around us and to experience the JOY that comes from it!!

Walking in it is simply letting Him change us and sharing it with others. Even though Christ is in us it doesn’t mean people can see Him or sense Him. It’s up to us to let Him, the LOVE, out. It’s up to us to let Him train us and teach us How to walk in His commandments and SHINE!!

The commandments that God gave to us are for our own good and to help others as well. Understanding this will allow us to get more serious and really pay attention to them, and apply them to our daily walk.

We say daily because applying them at times in certain situations can be very, very challenging. But, with His Spirit in us and as we lean on Him for His strength, understanding, and wisdom it will be life changing for us and for those around us.

Enjoy God’s love and share it with others, by walking it out.
