Bible Verse of The Day – 8-21-13

Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;

There are many things in life that we just plain don’t understand.

Many of you reading this might be going through some things or facing some battles that just don’t seem to make sense to your natural mind.

Here’s a word from God for you: Don’t try to understand them or make sense of them by human reasoning, because you can’t.

TRUST God with all of your heart.

TRUST that He will work it out for your good.

TRUST that He knows what He is doing and knows what is best for you.

TRUST that He will provide for your every need.

It’s all about one word: TRUST

It’s what faith is made of.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-29-13

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

Anxiety. It’s something that a lot of people seem to struggle with these days. We live in a world full of things that can cause us to become anxious, stressed, worried or nervous.

But we are told in God’s word to be anxious for nothing! Anxiety is related to worrying. So what does the Bible say about worrying?

Matthew 6:27 (NKJV) Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

So we need to know and understand that we are not to worry, even though human nature would have us worrying about everything!

Many of us might try to relate anxiety to something that happened to us in our past.

But this is not so much of a psychological problem as it is a spiritual problem. Without getting too deep about it, let us try to explain what this means. The enemy (satan) commands various types of demonic spirits. These different spirits have different tasks. Some cause diseases, some cause division, some cause fear, etc.

Anxiety is, many times, caused by a spirit of fear. Spirits of fear are not from God. They are from the devil, the enemy of our soul. So if it is not from God, we need to know that we don’t have to put up with it or live with it.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

As believers, we have the authority to rebuke these spirits of fear and command them to leave us alone and never come back.

Luke 10:19 (NKJV) Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

You can see in this verse that Jesus told us we have authority over all the power of the enemy. This includes spirits of fear, that cause us to worry or be anxious.

So the next time you start to become anxious, remind yourself that God has not given us a spirit of fear! Rebuke that spirit in the name of Jesus and tell it to leave you alone. And then set your mind on things above, not on things of this earth.

And then rest in God’s peace, knowing that He is on the throne and you are resting in His hands.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-26-13

(Matthew 14:16-20 NKJV)  But Jesus said to them, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” {17} And they said to Him, “We have here only five loaves and two fish.” {18} He said, “Bring them here to Me.” {19} Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. {20} So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.

Jesus shows us how it’s done, by simply using what they had to work with. He knew that five loaves and two fish couldn’t possibly feed all five thousand-plus people. There had to be a miracle take place. But, the miracle did not happen until He took what they had, blessed it, broke it and gave it.

There are many people today that cannot feed their family. They can’t pay their bills. They can’t get clothes for their children. There are ministries that can’t do all that they feel led to do for the lack of finances.

The question is, are we letting God bless what we have to work with? Are we then doing what He wants us to do with it? Are we breaking it up accordingly and giving it the way He wants us to give it?

What do we want today? Are we looking for a miracle?

We need to work with what we have. Don’t wait till we “have enough”, to do what God is asking us to do.

God will multiply as we obey Him, as we trust Him, and follow Him. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-14-13

(Hebrews 6:15 NKJV)  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

The verse above is referring to Abraham. God had made a promise to Him. The promise came to pass, but it took a while to happen.

Abraham patiently endured as he waited. His patience was rewarded with the fulfillment of God’s promise.

The really cool part of this scenario is that God swore to Abraham and because He could swear by nobody greater than Himself, He swore by Himself!

(Hebrews 6:13 NKJV)  For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself…

God is a God of His word. He is pure and holy, not able to lie or break a promise.

If we are waiting on God and He has promised us something, He is sure to keep His word and fulfill His promise.

We just need to be sure that it’s God’s promise we’re waiting on and not man’s!

Seek God in everything. Trust Him with everything. If our hope and trust is in Him, we can never go wrong.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-3-13

(2 Samuel 22:47 NKJV)  “The LORD lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let God be exalted, The Rock of my salvation!

It breaks my heart when I hear and see people put their trust in their pastor, their minister, etc. instead of putting it in God.

There is no man you can trust to do all the right things. It’s important that we put our trust in God, that we lean on God fully and learn from Him.

Pastors are human beings and they too can fall. So many people put them on a pedestal and then their faith is shaken when something goes wrong.

What happens often in a church setting is that when the man of God falls, if our trust is in him, we get disappointed and it can cause us to fall and backslide and literally turn away from God.

In our early years, we were going to a local church. It was a great church with wonderful pastors that God had blessed us with. They taught us a lot of good things, and we were growing close to God. However, these pastors had trials and tribulations hit them and when these things came upon them, they split and broke up. It was a very sad day.

The thing that was even more sad was that when this all happened, the congregation ended up scattered. Instead of looking to God and asking Him if they should stay in the church or go elsewhere, they decided to take on the Pastor’s problem as if it was their own and  very many ultimately left the church behind.

The man may leave, but God will never leave. He remained sound and strong there. He had a plan even in such devastation. He had the next step already figured out. But the people decided to take their own steps, leaving God behind.

Cling to God. He is our Rock and salvation; ask Him what to do when trouble comes. Wait for His direction!  Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-26-13

(Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; {6} In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

During the last several months we have been reminded over and over again that we need to be trusting in Him with all our hearts and not trying to figure things out based solely on our own understanding.

Today that was confirmed to us in a very big way. We have been facing some very major trials in our lives and we received some news today that, if we looked at it solely from our own understanding, could be very, very negative and discouraging.

But we are trusting God and acknowledging Him in everything that we do. Things might not be going the way we would want them to, but it will all work for the good because we love God

For those of you who have prayed for us recently, thank you so much. We truly appreciate it.

If you’re going through a trial right now, trust God with it. Let Him lead you. It’s not always easy, but His ways are best, even when we don’t understand them.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-20-13

(Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)  Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

This is a beautiful reminder that we are not alone.

So often we can read something like this but yet still not grasp that this is Almighty God speaking to us and encouraging us to not give up, to not back down and to not give in.

There is a lot of pressure these days with all the crazy stuff going on in the atmosphere around us, but we are not without help. God is with us to help us get through, so we don’t cave in.

Fear likes to grasp our hearts and minds when there are things coming against us, but we need to say no to fear, rebuking this spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Let His words be written on our hearts that we may be able to pull from them and stand strong in knowing that He is faithful!!

Have a great weekend and no worries… it will all work out fine as we fear not!!

Bible verse of The Day – 4-5-13

(Genesis 1:3 NKJV)  Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

God’s Word is final. When He speaks, things happen!

This should bring stability and confidence to us, knowing that the One we serve, the One whom we call Father and Lord, is full of Might and Power and He is on our side!!

Be blessed today, for we are in His hands.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-13

(Psalm 86:3 NKJV)  Be merciful to me, O Lord, For I cry to You all day long.

Do we ever feel like David felt at times? Like all we do is cry out to God for we are in such need?

Are we in a desperate place and need help immediately?  I think we all have those moments; the moment of not knowing how it will all turn out and how long it will take.

It’s OK to have these moments and to cry out to God. He is there for us.

Let this be our prayer today, for all those that are in need and scared.

Dear God,

Be merciful to us, O Lord, For we cry to You all day long. Help us in our desperate situation, we ask, in Jesus Name, Amen!

We are not alone. Be blessed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-20-13

(Numbers 11:23 NKJV)  And the LORD said to Moses, “Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”

Are we asking God this same question today? Where are you, God? Has Your arm been shortened?

Have you been in your situation so long that you are beginning to wonder about this?

When we are having good times, of course everything is good. We are confident we are heading down the right road and we are doing the right things.

When trouble comes, and it takes a bit to figure things out…it’s different. It causes us to take a look at ourselves and make changes, if needed. We take the time and ask ourselves are we doing the right things or have we strayed in the wrong direction. Did we make a wrong turn somewhere? What?

This is all good; we should check ourselves. We should be accountable for our actions. If we went off track a bit, God wants us to get back on track. He will be more than happy to help us get back on.

Sometimes we may even feel like He is nowhere around; it seems quiet. At times it can seem so quiet that we think nothing’s happening. We may feel that we have gone too far or done too much wrong to even expect Him to want to help us.

We may even feel He has left us alone to fix things ourselves. That is just not true! That is a lie and we all know where lying voices come from.

No matter how far away we have strayed from the right path, God’s arm has not been shortened. As we repent and truly want to receive His help, His arm will reach down and pick us up right where we are at.

Today, know this; that God’s arm is not too short to reach us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-13-13

(Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV)  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; {6} In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

Trust in the Lord. These are words that we are learning to live by more and more each day.

We have been going through some trials the past several months and they are causing us to really check ourselves and see where our trust really lies.

We have been in a period of waiting that seems endless. If we were not trusting in God, we just might lose all hope.

But I stand today and proclaim boldly that we will trust in the Lord with all of our heart, and we will seek His understanding in all things.

We will shout from the mountaintops and from the valley, “God, we praise you in the midst of this storm and we worship you no matter what comes our way”.

Amen!
