Tag: What the Bible says about letting God lead us

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-7-18

Isaiah 64:8 (NKJV) 8 But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.

Surrendering it all to God is the most powerful position to be in.

When we can say, “God, you can have me and everything I own”, we are setting ourselves up for His great and mighty work to be done, in us and through us. But we are also getting ready for a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Him than we have ever experienced.

Getting to this point requires us to take steps ahead of time that will help us to see that we truly need to surrender everything. And the only way to get there is to start at the beginning.

  • We need to give God the room He needs in our daily routine. That means we can plan out our day, but we need to listen and stay alert to God’s promptings. Sometimes God will warn us about specific things. He may see danger for us, and through His promptings He will cause us to think twice about heading in that direction. Listen to those little promptings, so we don’t have to change our plans over and over again.

I’ve done this many times, and I’ve learned from my errors. It’s better to go to Him first and ask about certain occasions, rather than having to change things up after we’ve made plans and spent money, etc., to carry it out.

  • We need to spend personal one-on-one time with Him. And yes, we have to do this even when we have a busy day. God should be the first One we talk to every day. He will start us off on the right track.
  • We need to pick up our Bible and read it. His word will change us. That is a promise. Even if we don’t understand it word for word, it’s OK. The Holy Spirit will help us and bring understanding. He’s Amazing!

When we begin to let God into our daily routine, we will see the importance of surrendering to Him. And our hearts won’t regret it or fight it, but we will welcome our Potter even more.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-27-17

John 15:4 (NKJV) 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

Do we ever find ourselves looking at our lives and wondering why nothing ever changes, or why we can’t seem to get to where we want to be in life?

Many times, we can trace this directly back to our walk with God.

You see, as we learn to put our walk with God first, and we put into practice what He teaches us, our lives will begin to change, a little at a time.

As we get our priorities straight and we begin to get understanding about who He wants us to be, we will begin to change the way we do things. And this will lead to godly changes in our lives.

Our attitude will change because our outlook on life changes. We begin to see things through a different set of eyes as we allow Him to have precedence in everything we do.

In turn, this will bring about the change that we feel like we’re so often missing.

It’s not about just wanting to change. Many people want to change. But unless we put wheels under that desire, and we actually do something about it, we will never see change come.

Above, Jesus said that without Him we can bear no fruit. In John 15:5, He says that without Him we can do nothing. So maybe it would be a good idea for us to listen to what He says and apply it to our lives if we truly want to see things happen for the better.

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

So, what does this mean?

It means that we get a good grasp on the fact that without Him, we can do nothing. And then we start putting Him first in everything we do. We do this without a motive. We do it without looking for something in return.

We do it because we love Him and we want to honor Him with our lives. And we do it because it is what He has told us to do. We lay all of our preconceived ideas aside and let Him lead us in each step we take.

We spend time in His word. We let it become our food each day. We get it in us and we let it nourish us and strengthen us.

We talk with Him and we listen to what He says to us. We follow His leading each and every day.

Then, we watch in awe as our lives begin to change.

And we give Him the glory and honor He deserves for everything that He does in our lives.

It isn’t always easy. It takes effort on our part. It won’t happen overnight. It takes time.

But it’s worth every bit of time and effort that is required. And our lives will be forever changed if we are diligent and faithful in it.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 10-31-17

Psalm 37:23 (NKJV) 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

In the middle of a trying season in our lives, we sat down to pray. We really had no direction at this particular time. We cried out to the ONE that we knew was our only hope. And we trusted He would show us the answer.

Sometimes not knowing what to do may seem better to us, rather than getting God’s answer. This is especially true if the answer is something we have never done before or bigger than what we think we can do. Maybe this is why sometimes we don’t ask God? Because we’re afraid of His answer.

When God gave us His answer, we looked at our situation and realized it was something that was impossible to do at that time. Despite the situation we were in, we did say yes to Him.

And we agreed, that however He chose to do it, we were OK with it. We would wait on the timing and the steps.

As we waited, we continued to do what we knew we could do and God made the rest happen.

In the areas where we could not see how to do it or how it could possibly happen, He did it.

We look back now and think, “boy, are we glad we didn’t let our “not knowing” cause us to be stuck where we were”.

In the situation you’re facing today, ask God for direction. Ask Him for the answer. He will hear your prayer and direct your steps.

Psalm 4:1 (NKJV) 1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have relieved me in my distress; Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

Bible Verse of The Day – When God Leads (Part 2) – 4-16-17

We hope you’re having a blessed day, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Last week we published a new video that discussed letting God lead us when we’re faced with tough choices and decisions. This week, we have published part 2 of that series.

Click here to watch the video now.

In this week’s continuation on this topic, we discuss 3 very important aspects of letting God lead. These 3 points are things we have learned over the years as we have walked through various trials and times of transitions.

Click here to watch the video now.

They are all very important and once we understand these 3 things, it will help us to avoid making very critical mistakes that could lead us down the wrong road. We hope you’ll give the video a watch and glean some insight and understanding from it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-15-16

Psalm 16:8 (NKJV) 8 I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

The best way to be sure we make the right decisions each day is to be prayerful and not jump into things quickly.

There are times when we may feel like we have to make a huge change in our lives. For instance, we need to relocate, change jobs or even start a completely NEW career.

Maybe we feel a strong desire to get married, or maybe we feel like God is calling us to do some kind of ministry work. These are examples of a few of the kinds of changes that will affect us hugely.

These types of decisions can really change our life and the direction of it, and they require that we make sure we’re setting the Lord before us.

David knew Who he needed to have at his right hand in order to keep him going down the right path.

If we are contemplating taking a big step or making a major change, we need to let God go before us. Let Him guide our steps and show us what it is that He has for us.

Let the Lord be at our right hand. He is faithful!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-30-15

Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV) 17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

Looking back at some of the things we have faced in the recent past, we can clearly see that God had to deprogram us from some of our behavior patterns. He had to change our thinking in order to get us out of the situation we were in and bring us to the place He wanted us to be in, regarding the way we thought and the way we did things.

To Deprogram means to dissuade or try to dissuade from strongly held convictions (as of a religious nature) or a firmly established or innate behavior pattern.

It wasn’t that we were involved in anything terrible or unusual. But in our everyday lives, we were used to doing things a certain way, and He wanted to change that. For us, it was specific to our finances.

Some things were very hard for us to change because we thought we had it all figured out. We thought that what we were doing was right.

But we learned to let God have His way, even if we thought we knew how to do it on our own. And as God brought us through some things, we could clearly see that God wanted to do things differently than the natural mind would ever think or imagine.

When we receive Jesus into our lives, we are not alone and we are not on our own. He is in our midst. He is the Mighty One who saves!
