Bible Verse of The Day – 10-4-20 – The Spirit and The Man

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings!

If you’ve been with us for any length of time, you’ve probably heard us talk about the spirit man on at least a few occasions.

We have had a few people ask us about this phrase, so we wanted to explain what it means and how it impacts our walk with God.

Today’s video, The Spirit and The Man, takes the time to break this topic down and explain it 100% Biblically, to bring a clearer understanding of what all of this spirit man stuff really means.

It should shed a lot of light on some not-so-clear areas, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Please click here to watch it now.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-27-20

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If there is one thing that God has shown me over and over again, it is this; You have to have your own faith and your own walk. Nobody can believe for you or walk the walk for you.

So many of us look at others around us and like what we see. We long to have what they have when it comes to their faith or their relationship with God.

While that might seem innocent, it really means that we are either lacking terribly in our walk with God, or it means that we are coveting what someone else has because we don’t think we can have it.

Here’s the good news, though!

We don’t need to want someone else’s walk with God. Why? Because He wants us to have one of our own that’s even better!

This doesn’t mean that our walk with God will be better than theirs. It means that our walk with God will be better for us because it will be ours, not theirs.

God wants us to build our relationship with Him so we can commune with Him in a way that’s meaningful and helpful to us. If all we do is mimic someone else, we will be left wanting. We will never feel complete, and our spirit will not be getting the nurturing and sustenance that it needs to thrive and grow.

How do we do this? We let God feed us and nurture us through His word.

We feast on His word daily. We take it in. We digest it. We ponder on it. We let it soak into our spirit. And we let it permeate our very being.

Then, a little tiny bit at a time, it will begin to change us, from the inside, out.

And, in time, it will not only become something that we can’t live without, but it will change almost everything about us in ways that we never even dreamed possible.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-6-19

Exodus 33:11 (NKJV) 11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

Moses had a special relationship with God.

God had chosen him to lead His people out of slavery in Egypt. Moses could have refused to do it. But he didn’t. He chose to do what God was asking him to do.

Even beyond that, Moses grew this special relationship to go even deeper than most everyone else we read about.

And God did some special things for Moses, too. He met with Moses. He talked with him. And He even chose to show Himself to Moses. But He told Moses that he could not see His face, since no man can see God’s face and live.

Exodus 33:20 (NKJV) 20 But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”

God even told Moses where to stand when he passed by, so He could cover him with His hand to protect Him.

Exodus 33:22 (NKJV) 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.

Some of us may look at this and wonder why Moses had such a special relationship with God. Well, to be honest, he put the effort forth, and he reaped from that effort.

But it’s important that we remember that even though Moses had this kind of relationship with God, he wasn’t treated any differently by God than you or I.

God still held Moses to certain levels of accountability. And when Moses didn’t live up to those expectations, he was disciplined by God for it.

Moses had disobeyed God at one point, so God told him that because of his disobedience, Moses would not be allowed to enter into the promised land.

Deuteronomy 32:52 (NKJV) 52 Yet you shall see the land before you, though you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving to the children of Israel.”

You see, God is not partial. He shows no favoritism with any of us.

Romans 2:11 (NLT) 11 For God does not show favoritism.

God is God. He is holy and pure in every aspect. He will treat you and I the very same way He treated Moses. And our relationship with Him will be as strong as we make it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-27-19

2 Timothy 2:13 (NKJV) 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

We may become weak at times. We might be unfaithful to Him in one way or another. We may pull away and hide ourselves from Him because of shame or fear. We may even doubt Him.

But no matter what we do, no matter how we might fail Him, He can never fail us.

He remains faithful.

He cannot deny Himself. He is the epitome of truth. There is no darkness found in Him.

1 John 1:5 (NKJV) 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

When our faith and trust are in Him, we can find no stronger anchor, no ground that is more stable and no foundation that is more solid.

He is the very core, the foundation of faith. Without Him, there is no faith to be had. And as such, His promises will always be true.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-26-19

2 Timothy 2:12 (NKJV) 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

If we endure, we will also reign with Him.

Endure, withstand, bear, tolerate, brave, suffer, persist.

These are all words indicating a struggle or suffering of some kind.

As we follow Christ on this earth, we will face trials at times because of our faith. This doesn’t always mean faith-induced face-to-face persecution. But because we are a believer, we may have to make choices that we would otherwise not make if we were not believers.

Living by the Spirit of God requires us to make moral choices that tend to largely go against the grain of today’s thinking. These choices can cause us to take paths that may be more difficult than other paths just by the nature of the choice itself.

We may even face occasional loss because of those choices. We may lose friends. We may lose income. We may lose any number of other things. But we will not lose our walk with God, our Sustainer.

Interestingly, verse 12 tells us that if we do choose to endure, we will reign with Him. But if we give up, and we choose to deny Him, He will also deny us.

These are some pretty tough words. They are words that should cause us to wake up when we read them or hear them. These words should shake us from our slumber.

But we need to remember that He never, ever expects us to endure alone, or by our own strength. He has given us His spirit to help us and comfort us.

John 14:16 (TLB) 15-16 “If you love me, obey me; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you.

So, take heart. Press in to Him.

Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-25-19

2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NKJV) 11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

These three verses, if we consider them seriously, will cause us to look at our relationship with God in a new way.

Why?

Because they lay the groundwork for almost every aspect of that relationship with a no-holds-barred honesty and candor that we often don’t like to hear. They make us think and consider our walk with God in a way that gives us no opportunity to make excuses or to justify our shortcomings.

This is not to say that God lacks compassion or mercy, because that would be 100% false. But it’s a reminder that we are responsible for our destiny inasmuch as we need to walk out our faith each and every day.

Let’s take a look at verse 11 today, and then we will cover verses 12-13 the next two days.

If we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.

If we live out our earthly lives pursuing Him and all that He wants for us, even death cannot separate us from Him. We live with Him, we die with Him. And though we may die, if we live with Him in this life, we will also live with Him in eternity.

But more than that, if we live with Him here, we truly live. Our lives are full and meaningful. Not in a mushy, emotional sort of way, but in a way that we can only see and understand by His spirit.

A life lived with (and for) Him is a life with joy, contentment, victory and much more.

It doesn’t depend on wealth, social status, career success, physical appearance, IQ level or any of the other earthly factors that so many of us look at.

It only depends on us taking the time to spend with Him, that we might know Him in all His fullness.

Philippians 3:10-11 (NKJV) 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-20-16

Proverbs 24:33-3 (NKJV) 33 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; 34 So shall your poverty come like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.

Apathy & complacency. Those two words were dropped into my spirit as I pondered on some things during the past day or two.

Many believers wrestle with apathy. Apathy and complacency go hand in hand. This terrible duo can lead to the failure and ultimate destruction of a believer’s spiritual wellbeing.

What do we mean by that? Let’s talk about it for a minute or two.

First, let’s define those two words that are partners in quiet, subtle destruction.

Complacency: a feeling of being satisfied with how things are and not wanting to try to make them better

Apathy: the feeling of not having much emotion or interest

As believers, we should always be looking up and looking forward. Our eyes need to be fixed on God and our hearts need to be intent on drawing closer to Him and strengthening our relationship with Him.

This requires time and effort on our part!

When we become complacent and satisfied with how things are, we can become apathetic. We no longer have any interest in pursuing God or growing that relationship. We just want the status quo because it’s easy that way.

And as time goes by, if we’re not moving forward, we begin to slowly regress and then we start to slip backwards. We may not see that we’re slipping backwards. Or maybe we do see it, but don’t want to admit it or acknowledge it. But it’s happening nonetheless.

So let’s ask God to show us if we’ve become complacent and/or apathetic. And listen earnestly and honestly for His reply. He wants us to stay hot and on fire for Him, not lukewarm or smoldering.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-13-16

Mark 1:35 (NKJV) 35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Building a relationship with our heavenly Father will also help us with any other relationships that come our way. Time is going to be the key that will unlock the door.

If we can put some time aside and dedicate it to that relationship, the growth of our relationship will begin. It doesn’t have to be the same amount of time or at the same time every day, but just some time.

Some days will seem harder than others to put the time aside, depending on the things that are pulling on us.

But what we need to remember is that if we lack time with God, we hurt ourselves.

Our time with Him, building our relationship, will help us to have a better attitude toward the things going on around us.

It will help us to be more patient, kind and compassionate, when our emotions are wanting to freak out.

It will help us to be wiser, alert and ready for things that we may face throughout our day.

Yes, it will take time. But during the time we spend with Him, we will learn His voice and follow His way each day.

John 10:27 (NKJV) 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-16

1 Timothy 2:5(NKJV) 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus,

Our relationship with the Father can be as deep and as strong as we want it to be. Isn’t that AWESOME?

There is NO limit to how much time we spend with Him! We can go to the Father morning, noon or night. Why? Because Jesus Christ, our Mediator, has made this possible.

We don’t have to go through any other man to get to God. What a privilege and honor!

Are we working on our relationship with Him today? Are we growing stronger in our walk or are we still at where we were when we first came to know Him?

Draw near to Him today by communicating and spending time with Him.

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.

He is faithful!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-24-16

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

How does one stay focused?

I have to ask God to help me everyday to stay focused. Why? Because there are so many things that like to come and pull on me.

These things that like to get our attention and pull on us aren’t always the things we need to be tending to. And they can cause us to be distracted from the very things we need to be doing. They can also pull us away from God, coming between us and Him.

How do we stay focused, looking straight ahead? Sometimes it takes making changes in the way we do things. Sometimes we need to avoid certain situations or certain people.

Shutting off our various electronic and mobile devices, until we take care of the things we need to get done, can also help us stay focused.

Sometimes putting ourselves out there and making ourselves available to everyone more than we need to can cause us not to get our own things done. We fall behind, get overwhelmed, and it creates chaos.

We may need to put limits on how much we’re available to others, in order to stay focused.

Focusing brings forward motion in our daily walk with God. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-7-15

John 10:14-15 (NKJV) 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

The love that Jesus Christ has for us is beyond our comprehension. He laid down His life for us. What a selfless, beautiful love He has for us.

He doesn’t want us to pull away from Him just because we are not perfect or because we can’t seem to get it right at times. He knows our struggles and the weaknesses we have in certain areas.

He doesn’t look at where we have been or the things we have been involved in. He wants our heart and for us to love Him back.

Are we in bondage today? Are we a slave to unrighteous living?

Take a step toward God. His arms are open to us and He wants us to come home to Him. He wants to set us free from the bondage that holds us back from the beautiful relationship He has for us.

He loved us first, just as we are!

1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Come home. Papa loves us more than we could ever imagine.
